IFrames keeping the links inside the portlet frame

Hi All,
I have installed the iFrame portlet, and tested with the technet.oracle.com portlet. Why do the links on this portlet open up in the whole window rather than stay within the boundaries of the portlet? Isn't that the point of iFrame? I tried to add in
<convertTarget>false</convertTarget>
and
<inlineRendering>true</inlineRendering>
to the provider.xml, but I got errors each time saying there is no set or add method for them in
Class oracle.portal.provider.v1.RenderManager
is there any way I can keep the links inside the frame, or do I have to create a html portlet and manually put in an iframe tag?

It simply does not work! We have tried using iFrames and URLservices with inline rendering and the links always open in the same browser window but outside the portlet. This is getting very frustrating as every post we read has a different solution but none work.
And yes we have specified inlineRendering and convertTarget in the provider and yes the samples work but they don't open in the portlet. According to 2 threads in the forums, it should work now but it does not.

You should install and use the "Url Services". I have the same need. But I can't succesffuly install the URLServices, I then get a lot of timeout errors when browsing the portal. I don't know when I'll have time to work on that, but that's the way you should work around.

How to change the color of the links inside a portlet ?

I have to apply a css into one of the portlets of my page. Since I thought it would not be easy I figured out that the only thing the client cares is the color of the links inside the portlet. The portlet has a bunch of links and these link should be blue and 12pt. Does somebody know how to do that ?

Change hyperlink color:
There are about 50 predefined styles with each template. They are modifiable. Hyperlink is one of the styles.
Follow this process:
• In your document select a word of text, any word will do.
• Style it the way you want your hyperlinks to look.
• Show Styles Drawer from the View menu.
• Find the Hyperlink style in the drawer and right-click on it.
• Select - Redefine Style from Selection - in the pop-up menu.
That's it. You've changed the hyperlink style for this book.

Content Area link inside a Portlet

I built a portal page titled Finance. I also created a content area titled Corporate
Finance and published it as a portlet. When I add the Corporate Finance portlet to
the page it's visible, however the portlet header link goes to a blank page. I was
hoping this link would take me directly to the Corporate Finance content area.

There patch available for this bug in metalink ( http://metalink.oracle.com ). You should find the patch in the recent portal patch list. The bug no for this patch is 1574770.

Where is the portlet WSDL URL stored?

I followed instruction :

regesterred a portlet with my Jdeveloper.
However, I'm not sure which file keep the portlet WSDL URL. I did enterred this information during the registration of portlet. but after that, I'm not able to see it stored in any file.
I would like to get this information as I need to change it after the deployment.

I'm not sure about that,I know that you can build WSRP and JSR 168 portlets, but I don't kwon the deployment process for each one, just WSRP.

Here in my company we're using WSDL since Oracle Portal and works fine.
About WLS Console and EM, I didn't find this configuration in WLS Console, anyway when you deploy your application with Jdev you'll choose MDS repository, in this screen has a tab for this configurantion. I'll search again in WLS Console, but I didn't find yet.

IFrame - How to keep the vertical scrollbar, but NOT the horizontal one?

I have the iFrame set-up fine in the site - http://www.pebbleplace.com/Personal/Start.html
And it works as expected in Safari, but in Firefox a horizontal scrollbar shows up... How can I can keep the horizontal scrollbar from showing up? It's not needed - the content is skinnier the iFrame. This is the code currently being used -

Thank you. Unfortunately I had to pull the iFrame. It was on the front page and displayed all the "Latest Entries" list. I was using the iFrame as scrolling list box - this way I could keep all the entries on the front page. Right now there is only room ~10 entries.
Anyway, I pulled the code because when I clicked on it, it opened the page inside the iFrame. That wasn't what I expected. I wanted it to open the page in the same Safari tab, not in the tiny iFrame. I'm kind bummed because it looked good and would have worked nicely - if it didn't open the links in the iFrame.
I think I could trick it by linking to my pages as an external reference and forcing them to be opened in a NEW browser window. I may try that next weekend when I have more time to work on this again.

I've met the problem too before. but i solved it with Audio Converter Mac instead of iMovie. If you have similar situation that just want to keep audio but not video, and if your file format is not workable in iMovie, you can use the Audio Converter for help too. it can easily help to extract audio soundtrack from any video format. Or if you need to convert one audio format to another, it is a good choice too, because it supports many common audio output formats.

Can you force a link inside a .pdf to open the "linked to" document in a new window?

When I have a link inside my .pdf document - linking to another .pdf document or to a Word document - how can I force the linked-to document to open in a new window?
I have a web site (business internal, so unfortunately I cannot point to it). My HTML menu has links to .pdf documents - no problem. However, once I open those .pdfs, they contain links to other .pdfs and to Word documents. Clicking on these links, which reside inside my .pdfs, opens the "linked-to" docs in the same page. How can I force them to open in a brand new frame?
All of my .pdfs were originally created in Word, and in the Word versions, the links DO open into new frames. I am not sure why, when I convert them to .pdfs, they lose this feature.
Can anyone help?

Urlservices - possible to stay within the portlet for links?

I've installed urlservices and managed to get a Perl/CGI-based
application to show up in a portlet. Sofar so good...
But I don't like what happens when a user clicks a link inside
the portlet. The browser is either opening the target url in a
new browser window or going to the specified url in the same
browser window - depending on the
<convertTarget>true/false</convertTarget> in provider.xml.
I ideally want the CGI application to stay within the portlet!
Is there any way to do that??

How do I delete duplicate songs, but keep a link in their original albums to the single copy of the song left, so it will play in each album in sequence as if it were still there?

After importing my 300 or so CDs into iTunes, I found I have tons of duplicate songs.
Example: I have a song that came in a original album, then in again in a "Greatest Hits" album, then again in a "Hits of the 80's" album, and again in a soundtrack album. I have now have 4 copies of the exact same song.
How do I delete duplicate songs, but keep a link in their original albums back to the single copy of the song left, so it will play in each album in sequence as if it were still there?
I don't think this currently exists, but as my library keeps growing the duplicates keep growing. It would be nice if Apple sees this and adds a way to link songs to multiple albums.
I don't want to create a custom playlist for every album that has a duplicate song or two (I'd have dozens of playlists) - thought about fixing it that way but not really practical.

To my knowledge, there is no way of doing what you want. The only workaround is to create playlists for the other albums containing the track, but that isn't practical for most people.

Links to named destinations in IFRAME positioning the PDF a page and half past

I created a PDF file w/ named destinations so that I can allow the Internet user w/ browser and Acrobat Reader plug-in to link to specific sections of the PDF. The zoom is set to Fit Horizontally, and the position is the top of the page in my example PDF. I used Acrobat Pro 8.1 to create the PDF.
Problem is when trying to load the PDF into an IFRAME, displayed with the named destination using a tag like:

When clicking on the link to the named destination, the .pdf is loaded or reloaded into an IFRAME and the page with the named destination is usually correctly displayed. Only in IE 6,7,8 the pdf will frequently (about 1 out of 4 times) be positioned a page and a half past the named destination. Clicking to a different link, and then back to the original link will usually reposition the PDF correctly. Chrome and Firefox always position the PDF exactly to the named destination. I'd like to know how to create the named destination so that it will always be positioned correctly, or to use a different link that will always position correctly. I'm using Reader 9.1.2

I'm working with Lyle on this, and I have done some additional testing.
What I found is that the positioning for named destinations seems to work ok with IE8 when the html page and pdf file are located on one of our external web servers (rather than local intranet servers).
I am wondering if this is due to the latency involved in downloading the file, allowing the DOM to register the plugin?
I've posted a query at Microsoft's forum, but they are pointing me back to Adobe...saying they cannot know how the plugin handles rendering...even though I responded that it seems to work across the board with Firefox and Chrome.

You'll need to create an Apple ID for each device. Use the new Apple ID for FaceTime, iMessage and iCloud on the device. Use the original Apple ID for Settings>iTunes & App Store.

Why not put the page number in the margin like this:
Page 1 of 3
Page 2 of 3
Page 3 of 3
You do that by creating a text field in the margin. Enter this text:
Page &<PhysicalPageNumber> of &<TotalPhysicalPages>

you must restore i would put in dfu mode if it isnt asking to restore when you plug it in
