Ignoring Optional parameter during OLE method calling

Hi guys,
I got a problem:
Application.Workbooks.OpenXML(Filename, Stylesheets, LoadOption) here's a defination from Microsoft help.
Stylesheets and LoadOption are optional parameters.
ABAP calling:
CALL METHOD OF workbooks 'OpenXML'
    EXPORTING #1 = filename
                       #2 = '3'
                       #3 = 2 .
How can ignore parameter #2(Stylesheets) in the calling statement? I found no documentation about calling functions ignoring some optional parameters. Normaly there's posibility to explicitely define passing parameter, for example:
    Application.Workbooks.OpenXML _
        Filename:="customers.xml", _
        LoadOption:=xlXmlLoadImportToList

How to refresh table column during button method call ?

Hi,
I have one table on my screen in which there are 5 rows.
One of the column of this table is Status with initial value Not Completed.
Now when I press submit button my 5 processes are started in for loop one by one.
After completion of 1st process, I am updating 1st row status with Completed and vise a versa.
But change is reflected on table after by method call over means if my submit action take 5 minutes to finish all 5 process than after 5 minutes, I can see all rows with status Completed while I want it to reflect as soon as I set its status.
How can I do this ?

.. or break up the method in 5 methods (for each process a separate method) and with you button you call the first method. then when at the end of the method you call a javascript which updates the first column to completed and the js calls the second method (with queue of client event and serverListener) ... and so on and so on.
Really not so cool idea but I think it's achievable:)

Heavy load during web method call

Hello everyone!
I have a web service with couple web methods. Those methods are calling quite often (average is about one call of each method per 10 seconds) by .NET client application. After few days of working I checked in JBoss Web Console statistics of calling of those methods. One of them has got average time of call equals about *300 milliseconds* but maximum call time is over *70 minutes*! I also noticed that when call of this method is very long my CPU is almost 100% load for all call time.
Maybe someone has got similar problem? My quest is that maybe garbage collector turn on when call was so long.
I'm using:
1) Java 1.5_0_15
2) JBoss 4.2.3
3) -XX:+UseConcMarkSweepGC -XX:+UseParNewGC options for garbage colletor

This web method is getting some data from database. Each of call gets from database more or less same amount of data and made some basic processing on this data. So each call should last more or less same long. This 70 minute call is the maximum. Couple times in logs I get call which last couple minutes (3-4 minutes).

During asynchronous method call, Firefox doesn't allow to navigate elsewhere

I am using Jdeveloper 11.1.1.5.0 and my application is based on ADF and Webcenter Portal.
Here is the scenario: My application has a home page which contains different regions. The page loads all the regions instead of one which is running with separate thread and taking long time. Now during the execution of long running task, if user wants to navigate to another page by clicking on a command link or goLink then it works on google chrome and IE but doesn't work with Firefox. In case of firefox once it seems to redirecting to desired url for a while but then it redirects back to same page. Surprisingly, It works perfectly once the execution of long running task is finished. So it seems problem with firefox's handling of asynchronous requests. I tried FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().getExternalContext().redirect(url) and setting the URL as destination for goLink to navigate. Below is the code for goLink and commandLink:

Jose, your fix to problem 1 allows all access from the outside, assuming you applied the extended list to the outside interface. Try to be more restrictive than an '...ip any any' rule for outside_in connections. For instance, this is what I have for incoming VOIP (access list and nat rules):
access list rule:
access-list outside_access_in extended permit udp any object server range 9000 9049 log errors
nat rule:
nat (inside,outside) source static server interface service voip-range voip-range
- 'server' is a network object *
- 'voip-range' is a service group range
I'd assume you can do something similar here in combination with my earlier comment:
access-list incoming extended permit tcp any any eq 5900
Can you explain your forwarding methodology a little more? I'm by no means an expert on forwarding, but the way I read what you're trying to do is that you have an inbound VNC request coming in on 5900 and you want the firewall to figure out which host the request should go to. Or is it vice-versa, the inbound VNC request can be on port 6001-6004 ?

Odi os call with option parameter from odi procedure

Hi.
I am calling a shell script from ODI as below inside an ODI procedure P1. The os command below is in 'Command on Target' side.I have defined v_in_param as an 'option' inside procedure P1
OdiOSCommand sample.sh v_in_param
i am getting error as 'OS command returned 1'.
Is it the right syntax to pass an 'option' parameter to an OS call?

you can try OdiOSCommand sh sample.sh <%=odiRef.getOption("v_in_param")%> or even call OS Command in ODI Package and paste the above code.

Error during method call in OLE API

Hello,
I am getting an error, 'Error during method call in OLE API', when the QTP script is called from eCATT.
Does anybody knows the reason for this error?

Hi Lawrence,
I have analyzed the condition, and come with the conclusion that, when eCATT calls QTP in integrated mode, and downloads the QTP scripts from server to your local machine, it requires more memory. So try to free memory on C drive and don't keep running more application on the local machine.

How to Pass Select-options Single values as Parameter value to Method ?

I need to pass select-options values(single values) for s_arbpl to the method "process_percent_planned". Now all single values are in internal table s_arbpl-low field. I need to pass this internal table(s_arbpl-low) values to the method where i will run query based on these single values.In my below code i am passing value through variable w_arbpl. I have defined this parameter in the method.But here only one value is passed to method. I want multiple single values (in s_arbpl-low) should be passed. Please let me know how to correct code.

Calling OLE methods from TOOL

Thanks to those that responded to my previous E-Mail on how to get the

Now I'm having a problem calling an OLE method that were generated. I
have a project called Word and a class called Application of type
CDispatch. The Application class has a method called "Insert" on it. I

Taskflow Method call receiving null parameter.

Hi all,
I am using 11.1.1.6. I have created in my application an extra project which is pure Java objects and exposed a master class as a POJO DC. In my application, I have a taskflow where I have dragged and dropped one method from my POJO DC - 2 of the parameters of this methods are coming from an application scope bean. I have debugged the application, and made sure that the object being returned by the getter of my app scope bean is not null. So basically, when the breakpoint is in the return statement of my getter the oject is not null and it has been correctly initialized. Just after that, the next breakpoint is in the class receiving the parameter in my POJO DC class. In there, the object is NULL.
Does anyone knows wat could be the reason??

That is precisely the problem. The object is being passed as to the taskflow as an input parameter (getting it from my application scope bean). If I access the pageFlowScope inside my taskflow I see it and its there, correctely intialized. However, when I call a method call activity that consumes that object as parameter, all what it gets is null.
The method that consumes this object is in a separate project, and its exposed in a POJO DC. I don't know if it has to be with the complexity of the object I am passing or what but I don't understand why its not being passed correctly to the DC Method.

Ecatt scripts fails due to "Error in OLE API method Call" error, this error message occurs once a while.
We are calling testpartner scripts from Ecatt using REFEXT command. At times this ECATT script fails due to above issue.
Please help in solving this issue.

There is no problem with BDC as its working fine with XP & other OS.

Seems that you are working with microsoft files.
Maybe you are using deprecated functions like WS_EXCEL

Error During Method Call in Scripting Host

Hey all ,
I am running a webdynpro application , which runs an Ecatt which in turn runs an Underlying SAP GUI recording , and as soon we hit the SAP GUI command we are getting an Error saying ERROR DURING METHOD CALL IN SCRIPTING HOST.
As of now we know that this might be a security issue as this was working perfectly fine when we were running on a R3 system.
If any of you have come across such a situation and was able to find a work around it would be of great help if you respond back as I need this info ASAP.

Create page definition option on a method call

I have been developing my first application using ADF with JDeveloper 12c. After reading all of the documentation, it would appear that I should be able to create a page definition for a method call on a task flow, but when I right-click on my method calls, there is no option to do so. What am I doing wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Maybe I have a setting wrong or something. Thank you all in advance.

Thanks for the response. I did try to right click on the method call, the option to Create Page Definition is absent from the context menu. That was my source of the problem which prompted me to write the thread. However, your alternate solution of dropping the operation from the data control panel onto the method call worked like a charm. It created the page def and bound the method to the call. Thank you for that one. I am still curious as to why the option on the context menu is missing for me.

Passing the OUT parameter in method call after connection

I have created the rfc connection through SAP.net Connector. Now when i want to show all the data of the particular RFC. i need to provide all the fields name and the tables name in method call.
In that method call i need to provide one paramet which is of type OUT what is that and what i need to provide in that parameter.
Can anybody suggest on this.
