Igrid displaying deleted row on browser refresh

Hi Guys,
I am deleting a row from iGrid using delete row(). but when I click applet refresh, the deleted row is again displayed. Please let me know how to make the set of records not to display. Do I need to use session in this case.

ok, i have got your point.
if you just want to delete the row in the UI level, so the method: grid.getGridObject().deleteRow(row) will help you. you said that when you refresh the applet you once again get the deleted row appears in your grid. i think that is absolutely yes. because when you refresh the applet , it will reload the data from the db, or from the query you have used.
may you can try like this:

            var row = grid.getGridObject().getSelectedRow();
            grid.getGridObject().deleteRow(row);
function Show()
          grid.updateGrid(true);

DISPLAY AND DELETE ROW ISSUE

Dear friends
i have created report for transfering data from one database table to another database table i.e. detail table.
after executing Master data list will appear and after clicking on master data record it shows detail data with edit fields where i can enter my own data and after clicking save button i can pass that data to database table and at the same time data goes in display mode. I want that enterd data not to delete bye delete row button please tell me how can i avoid deletion of data.

You csn hide the Delete button so that it will not delete the line...
Please have a look at this example ...BCALV_EDIT_05. You need to append exclude table and pass in the set_table_for_first_display method like below...
ls_exclude = cl_gui_alv_grid=>mc_fc_loc_delete_row.
append ls_exclude to t_exclude.
call method g_grid->set_table_for_first_display

How to invoke delete rows event in ALV_GRID

I have two screens.
The first screen 100 have several splitter control ALV grids that display data.
The second screen 200 is the maintenance of screen on 100 that have two grids side by side need to update simultanously.
When I update or insert data on the second screen, I refresh data on screen 100 so that when user navigate to screen 100 they can see the updated data.
For insert rows or modified rows, it works as expected.
However when I delete rows on screen 200 and click go back to 100, screen 100 still shows the rows that I deleted in screen 200. I think that I missed something.
I debug in even data_changed in cl_gui_alv_grid when I deleted, it did not go through this logic therefore I cannot refresh the other grids on screen 100.
Here are the events that I defined and registered in the PBO of screen 200.

on_data_changed FOR EVENT data_changed

Don't you need to do a refresh of the data for a delete action as well?

i have report, i have to delete row without page loading. i have wrote the application process(on demand). but i dont know how to write the javascript for htmldb items...
my req is when i click the delete button the checked row(using check box) should delete without page load. i use ajax to call the javascript to process the plsql code.

Hi Skud,
I will have to say your observation is incorrect. The whole purpose of doing the DML via Application Process using ajax technique is to avoid a page refresh, otherwise it would simply be a page level after submit process.
I have just tested and its working as expected, i.e
1. You select one or more records
2. Use the delete button to delete
3. Records get deleted from DB, you get a message
4. Only the report region get refreshed. (However this could delay for a few seconds if the dataset is larger and server is very busy)
If you are however using APEX 4.x you could use dynamic actions to get it done. My work environment is still on 3.x so my solution is using classic method.
If you are still having issue could you please let me know which browser you are using?

BC4J delete row in a different VO

Hi,
I have a UIX/BC4J browse form with an "expert SQL" VO which joins several tables together, with one of the tables being the primary or driving table (ie a list of agreements which also displays customer data and personnel data from different tables). I want to have a "delete" button to delete the selected row. I understand that I can't use my custom VO, I have to have another VO based on the base entity of the table I want to delete from. I just don't have the nouse right now to understand how to take the "key" of the selected row in my custom VO and then direct the entity-based VO to delete the selected row. Am I on the right track or should I be writing a Java class to achieve what I want? (I would prefer to have a UIXML solution).

Hey, I think I am getting the hang of this now. I managed to fix it by adding the entity to my custom VO (it was originally based only on a query) then including the primary key attribute in the VO. The UIX form was then able to delete rows from the VO, no additional coding necessary. Nice!

BPM Object Presentation - array items - (add / delete rows dynamically)

Hi,
We have a BPM Object presentation which uses a 'group' inner object to display ROWS of data. The presentation has an 'array0' created by default to handle the 'group' of rows. It also has the '+' and '-' buttons by default.
There is a field at the upper level which shows the 'sum' of values in individual rows. It needs to 'REFRESH' when an add (+) or deletetion (-) or rows happen.
But we see that all the controls (text boxes etc which are wired to the 'inner' bpm object of the group and the +/- buttons are one unit 'array0'. And the only method if at all, is an 'Event Listner' which is not showing any methods related to BPM Object.
Can anyone help us with a clue as to how to handle the '+' and '-' events or wire the 'array/group' events to code - any clue with 'events'?
This is a little urgent as it is an issue and we need to fix the same. Appreciate any quick responses/clues.

The SUM field needs refresh() method to be called to reflect the new value whenever we are adding/deleting rows.
To call this method for to show the reflection we have to declare a method on BPM object level which receives a argument of type ‘Fuego.Util.GroupEvent’, then in this method you can have your logic(here refresh() method is required to show new value on deletion/addition, hence this method is being called). This method can then be wired (it shows up) to the 'Event Listener' of the group/array.
The newly created method will be called whenever a new row is added/deleted (Event will be fired hence method call).

Delete rows from table...Bizarre problem.

i HAVE this bizarre problem.
I hava a Java class which displays data read into a table with a delete
option by the side of each row.
Now lets assume you have 3 rows in the Table.
abc deleteButton
efg deleteButton
xyz deleteButton
When I click the first delete,that row gets deleted from the table.(perfect...)
Now I have 2 rows.
When I click on the first row,I get the error
'You clicked -1'

Can anyone tell me why this is happening even though there are rows in the table.???

Problems on deleting rows in UIX pages

I am new on using BC4J, Struts and uiXML and I am having some problems on it. I have tried to make a simple create/update/delete web application.
First, I have created a DataAction which PageForward displays a table with data from a view object. This page allows the user to select a row and request its deletion by clicking on a submit button.
The event triggered by the submit button calls a DataAction that displays another PageForward, composed by a read-only form, that asks for confirmation. If the user confirms, a DataAction that performs the Delete method from the view is called and the deletion is successful.
A problem occurs when I change the readonly property of the fields of the confirmation form: the row deleted is not the selected, but a random one.
I would like to know why the readonly property of the fields change the Delete method behavior. Also, an example of a simple create/update/delete struts page flow would be appreciated.

Are you using JDeveloper 10g Preview or JDeveloper 9i v9.0.3?
I'm not sure what problem you are having, but I just tried to reproduce your application by doing the following in JDeveloper 10g Preview:
1) Created new business components.
2) Created a new struts-config.xml.
3) Added to the Struts config (using the page flow modeler):
3.a) Browse data action and page forward to browse.uix
3.b) Confirm data action and page forward to confirm.uix
3.c) Delete data action.
3.d) Link from browse action to confirm action for outcome "delete".
3.e) Link from confirm action to delete action for outcome "delete".
3.f) Link from confirm action to browse action for outcome "cancel".
3.g) Link from delete action to browse action for outcome "success".
4) Then I made the delete action do the deletion by dragging the Delete operation from my data control onto the Delete data action in the page flow.
5) Then I created my UI pages.
browse.uix just has a read-only table created via the Data Control palette and then a delete button that fires the "delete" event when clicked. The delete handler returns the delete outcome.
confirm.uix has a read-only form also dragged from the Data Control palette for the same data control. There's a delete and a cancel button, each of which fire an event of the same name that returns an outcome of the same name.
When I run browseDataAction, I see my table. When I click "Delete", I see the read-only form with the details for the selected row. Clicking "Delete" from the confirmation page removes the same row I saw in the confirmation page, then goes back to the browse page showing the same range but with the given row removed.
If you continue to see a problem, what exactly is wrong? It should be the case that (A) the row selected in the table, (B) the row whose details are shown in the confirmation page, and (C) the row that gets deleted are the same row. If it's not the case that A = B = C, please give more details about what values of these three rows you are seeing. Is A=B but not =C? Or is B=C but not =A?

i have to check something (at event data_changed of cl_gui_alv_grid), after the user click delete row in an editable ALV. If any expression is true, then the deleted row should not be deleted, it should be undo.
Have anyone a idea to undo this deleting-function.

SAP provides provision for overwriting the functionality of standard buttons displayed in the ALV. You have write a subroutine in which your code has to be executed. That subroutine will be executed during the runtime,
when a standard button has been clicked.

Cannot DELETE rows from LOV on running...is it a bug ??

One of the features I appreciated in the new version of JHeadstart is that we can now insert, modify and delete rows on LOV (even in the database).
We have just to check on Lookup properties :
Multi-row insert allowed
Multi-row update allowed
Multi-row delete allowed
I cheked all of them and on runnig I could insert and update records in LOV.
When I tried to delete records from LOV the system display information message "nothing to save" and in fact no records were deleted.
Normally since I checked the delete property it should be possible to delete rows from LOV

Database, Dataset, Table Adaptors Error "Unable to load, Update requires a valid DeleteCommand when passed DataRow collection with deleted row"

Microsoft Visual Basic 2010 Express.
I am new to Visual Basic programing and i am trying to understand the relationships between Datasets, database, table Adaptors. I have to following code that is is giving me the following error" Unable to load, Update requires a valid DeleteCommand
when passed DataRow collection with deleted rows".
I can track the error and its located in "OffsetTableTableAdapter.Update(MaterionOffsetDataSet.OffsetTable)" code. What am i missing?
It seems that i can delete the data on the DataGridView Table and it only displays the correct data. but my database is not updating, even though the data grid displays differently.I can determine this because, when i save the offset database, i have all
the previous uploads and all the rows that i wanted to delete are still there.
My final goal is to be able to import offset data from a CSV file, save this data on the pc, send a copy of this data to a NuermicUpDown so the customer can modify certain numbers. From here they download all the date to a controller. IF the customer
needs to modify the imported data, they can go to a tab with a data grid view and modify the table. They will also have to option to save the modified data into a csv file.
Im not sure if i am making this overcomplicated or if there is a easier way to program this.

If you are working CSV file, you could use OleDB to read it which would treat the CSV file as a Table:

Right way to delete row before insert

I create a new row with method of ViewObject.
Row row = viewObject.createRow();Then I want to delete this row. I found there are 4 methods. Which is the right answer?

Timo, we're having a problem when deleting as you describe, maybe you can offer some advice?
We have a button to delete a row from an editable table, this is set to immediate=true (obviously the user should be able to skip validation when doing a delete). After deleting, if the user then clicks another button to add a new row, the values from the deleted row show in the new row :(
If we set immediate=false this seems to fix the problem, but we then get the undesirable side effect that the user has to make sure all the values in the row are correct before it can be deleted (because the validation is firing). The user experience becomes a bit strange.

Browser REFRESH button does not return to the same iView/Page

Hi,
In SDN site I have seen that in whichever menu i am in, if i use the browser refresh button i return to the same page. But this does not happen on my enterprise portal.
Can you please let me know, how to set / configure the enterprise portal EP7 such that, if am in any iview and use the browser refresh, then i am returned to the same iview / page and not to the first page of the menu. Currently in my portal, when i hit the browser REFRESH button, it takes me to the first page/iview.

Thanks for your reply. With the help of the document link that you have provided, i have been able to achieve my target partially. Currently i am able to refer to the iView and Role directly using the QuickLink and when i access that particular iView & Role using the QuickLink and then do a refresh, the same screen appears. This part is working fine. But i have one issue.
But generally a iView/Role is accessed not via the QuickLink on the browser but by clicking on the Role on Navigation Level 1. Even though this Role has a QuickLink, it is not visible in the address bar since the QuickLink URL was not used for reaching the Role. In such a situation, when we press the REFRESH button, the iView / Role is vanished and the browser returns to the first default page of the portal.
Can we somehow make it such that whenever the Role is accessed in the Navigation Levels, it can be accessed via QuickLinks and the QuickLink URL is displayed on the address bar ? If this can be achieved, then i guess the problem will be solved.
I hope i have been able to get across my point. Hoping to hear a positive reply from your side.
