IIOP fail on java client over jdk 1.4.0.1
Hi colleagues!
I have adaptation of standalone java CORBA server onto WebLogic 6.1. So I make startup
class (inherited from T3StartupDef) that starts thread in which my server runs the
ORB. I use orb from JDK1.4.0.1.
Client successfully locates the server and even server?s implementation successfully
handles the call and returns a value. After server?s return I get on client next
exception dump:

Couldn?t somebody explain me what happened with CORBA (by JDK 1.4) under the WebLogic?
Beforehand thanks!
Sincerely yours.
Max Voronoy.
Thank you for reply, but:
1) It rather easy to start WL 6.1 under the JDK 1.4, and it's fully
functionally.
2) Unfortunately the JDK 1.3 hasn't server side CORBA implementation.
So, basing on these reasons I should use the JDK 1.4 with WL.

Beforehand thanks!The JDK 1.4.0 orb is not supported under 6.1. You should probably try
the 1.3.x ORB for whatever JDK version you are using.

Java client failing to connect to web service - help!!
Hi
I have created a Web service using ASP Web Matrix, which currently resides on my C drive in c:\Service6\HelloWorld.asmx.
The service can be tested from a browser on my local machine by calling: http://localhost/Service6/HelloWorld.asmx. This works fine, i.e. it takes a string as a parameter and returns an amended string.
When I try to access this from a Java client I created in Netbeans, however, I get the following error message:
Server did not recognize the value of HTTP Header SOAPAction: sayHiya.
at System.Web.Services.Protocols.Soap11ServerProtocolHelper.RouteRequest()
at System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapServerProtocol.Initialize()
at System.Web.Services.Protocols.ServerProtocolFactory.Create(Type type, HttpContext context, HttpRequest request, HttpResponse response, Boolean& abortProcessing)
Can anyone advise what I am doing wrong?
[nb. I have spent over a week trying to sort this, so I have tried!!)
The code for the client follows:-
// The Axis package is used to generate and handle the SOAP call
import org.apache.axis.client.Call;
import org.apache.axis.client.Service;
import org.apache.axis.encoding.XMLType;
// The rpc package is used to create the RPC call
import javax.xml.namespace.QName;
import javax.xml.rpc.NamespaceConstants;
// The java.net package gives a URL class
import java.net.URL;
public class HelloWorldClient {
/** Creates a new instance of HiyaClient */
public static void main(String[] args)
try
String endpoint = "http://localhost/Service6/HelloWorld.asmx";
Service service = new Service();
Call call = (Call) service.createCall();
// Configure the call
call.setTargetEndpointAddress(new URL(endpoint));
call.setSOAPActionURI("sayHello");
call.setEncodingStyle(NamespaceConstants.NSURI_SOAP_ENCODING);
call.setOperationName(new QName("urn:HelloWorld", "sayHello"));
//call.setReturnType(XMLType.XSD_STRING);
System.out.println("**Works to here**");
//Invoke the call
String result = (String) call.invoke(new Object[] { "Diane" });
System.out.println("Sent 'Diane', got '" + result + "'");
catch(Exception e)
System.err.println(e.toString());Hiya, did try that - tried
"http://localhost:8080/HelloWorld.asmx" and
"http://localhost:8080/Service6/HelloWorld.asmx" and it still didn't work.
Thanks anyway.

Java client generation from BPEL WSDL fails?
Hi -
I have developed asynchronous BPEL composite project and used input xsd as required.Deployed the same on em and took wsdl url.
In OSB project this WSDL from abve step is used as input for proxy service.Exported WSDL from this proxy and trying to create java client out of it.
In eclipse or OEPE if i load above wsdl and provide >generate webservice java client,it through exception saying 'root tag'(of our xsd) not define?
Can we generate Java client out of WSDL deployed and available on BPEL em?If so how?
Please assist..
Edited by: Anitha R on Jan 23, 2011 2:36 AMThis is fixed.We were able to generate the cient,namespace required for input message found missing.After udation it worked.

Help! Saving an image to stream and recreating it on client over network
Hi,
I have an application that uses JDK 1.1.8. I am trying to capture the UI screens of this application over network to a client (another Java app running on a PC). The client uses JDK 1.3.0. As AWT image is not serializable, I got code that converts UI screens to int[] and persist to client socket as objectoutputstream.writeObject and read the data on client side using ObjectInputStream.readObject() api. Then I am converting the int[] to an Image. Then saving the image as JPEG file using JPEG encoder codec of JDK 1.3.0.
I found the image in black and white even though the UI screens are in color. I have the code below. I am sure JPEG encoder part is not doing that. I am missing something when recreating an image. Could be colormodel or the way I create an image on the client side. I am testing this code on a Win XP box with both server and client running on the same machine. In real scenario, the UI runs on an embedded system with pSOS with pretty limited flash space. I am giving below my code.
I appreciate any help or pointers.
Thanks

}While testing more, I found that the client side is generating color UI screens if I use JDK 1.3 JVM for running the server (i.e the side that generates the img) without changing single line of code. But if I use JDK 1.1.8 JVM for the server, the client side is generating black and white versions (aka gray toned) of UI screens. So I added code to save int array that I got from PixelGrabber to a text file with 8 ints for each line in hex format. Generated these files on server side with JVM 1.1.8 and JVM 1.3. What I found is that the 1.1.8 pixel grabber is setting R,G,B components to same value where as 1.3 version is setting them to different values thus resulting in colored UI screens. I don't know why.

Hi All,
We have to talk to OSB11g proxy service which is created as Any Soap service (url: http://myosb.firmname.com:7001/osb-ws)
I have java client applications which need to consume this proxy service built on top of OSB by providing the necessary inputs.
Typically we get wsdl url's and then we use Jdeveloper to create web service client proxies to generate client side web service artifacts and call the web service.
But I am confused here as to how can I get a handle to the OSB service from a java client. The OSB developers on the project tell me they don't have and cannot provide a WSDL based URL.
What are the general practices for consuming OSB proxy service from java client apps. Google search result did not yield much help.
Please let me know your thoughts.
Regards,Hi Anuj,
Thanks for reply. As u guys mentioned that about the URL I have rechecked the URL and realized the port number which I was using that was Admin Server Port while environment contains two servers Admin and Managed both. I have change the Port Number from Admin to Managed now its hitting the Service but now another problem I start facing that I need to pass a big XML as input request to that OSB Proxy Service. I have two different code where I am attaching the input request in two different ways but none of them is passing that request to URL and in both cases I am getting default response from URL.
Here is the Code, Code1 through Core Java:

Failure to create Web Service using Java client
Attempting to create a WebService using a Java client (partial code follows):
String xml = "<custId xmlns=\"http://samples.otn.com\">" + 101 + "</name>";

Re: Cannot connect Java client to T3S
Timothy Lee wrote:
This should be in one of the FAQs for WLS7. I think this is the message you
get when you do not have a valid certificate, or you forgot to disable cert
validity/hostname checking via
-Dweblogic.security.SSL.IgnoreHostnameVerification=true
The WLS 6.1sp2 message might have been something like:
Failed to connect to t3s://localhost:7002 due to: [t3s://localhost:7002:
Destination unreachable; nested exception is:
java.io.IOException: Server Certificate SubjectDN CommonName
received does not match Server hostname; No available router to destination]
However, I've verified that the -D option (above) fails in 7.0, and using
the console to disable hostname verification also fails in 6.1sp2. This is
exactly what fails for me:
java -cp ~/weblogic6/wlserver6.1/lib/weblogic.jar weblogic.Admin -url
t3s://localhost:7002 PING
(with the error above).
I get the original poster's error (below) with 7.0 even if I disable
hostname verification. In 7.0, SSL isn't enabled by default and you have to
generate your own certs with utils.CertGen password...
I notice that the release notes for 6.1sp3 contain several t3s fixes.
Perhaps it is fixed there. I'm still waiting to be "approved" for the silly
new system bea has in place so I can download patches to test sp3.
(as a software developer, I want to download and test the software I am
thinking of purchasing and running in production. If I can not do that then
the system is broken.)
Hi
The same command works with Weblogic 6.0. Is it a bug of Weblogic
7.0?
Or it is a configuration issue (I use default value for everything for a
newly created domain).

Hi
I am trying to connect a Java JMS client to Weblogic 7.0 over SSL.
However, I am not able to connect any Java client using t3s (e.g. java

Weblogic and JSSE. Is anyone have idea what is wrong with my Weblogic
setting or anything? Here is the error message:

Connecting Java client to SSL server with existing certificates
I am currently trying to connect my Java client to an existing server application
written in C++. I have been provided the needed certificates (root.pem, server.pem,
and client.pem). My code simply creates a SSLSocket and then attempts to read
from it. Something goes wrong during the handshake process and I get a SSLHandshakeException. The certificates have been added to the keystore
I am using, and I do not know any other action to take.
Here is the debug output:

Error: Remote host closed connection during handshake
Thread-4, handling exception: javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: Remote host closed connection during handshake(I am the original poster of this message, I had to create a new username though).
The original problem had to do with incompatibilities with the protocol and/or cipher suites
used. Now, the client and server perform most of the handshake process, but something
goes wrong as the server requests the client certificate. In other words, the server requires
mutual authentication, but for some reason it seems like my JSSE client won't send over
it's client certificate. I don't get any type of bad certificate exceptions, so I'm not sure
where the source of the error lies.

Problem Summary:
A UTF-8 without BOM Web RoE XML file output from a line of business application will not drag and drop copy nor copy/paste from a Server 2012 R2 RD Session Host running RD Gateway to a Windows 7 Remote Desktop client over an RDP 8.1 connection and the Drive
Redirection virtual channel hangs. The same issue affects a test client/server with only Remote Desktop enabled on the server.
Other files copy with no issue. See below for more info.
Environment:
Server 2012 R2 Standard v6.3.9600 Build 9600
the production server runs RDS Session Host and RD Gateway roles (on the same server). BUT,
the issue can be reproduced on a test machine running this OS with simply Remote Desktop enabled for Remote Administration
Windows 7 Pro w SP1v6.1.7601 SP1 Build 7601 running updates to support RDP 8.1
More Information:
-the file is a UTF-8 w/o BOM (Byte Order Marker) file containing XML data and has a .BLK extension. It is a Web Record of Employment (RoE) data file exported from the Maestro accounting application.
-the XML file that does not copy does successfully validate against CRA's validation XML Schema for Web RoE files
-Video redirection is NOT AFFECTED and continues to work
-the Drive Redirection virtual channel can be re-established by disconnecting/reconnecting
-when the copy fails, a file is created on the client and is a similar size to the original. However, the contents are incomplete. The file appears blank but CTRL-A shows whitespace
-we can copy the contents into a file created with Notepad and then that file, which used to copy, will then NOT copy
-the issue affects another Server 2012 R2 test installation, not just the production server
-it also affects other client Win7 Pro systems against affected server
-the issue is uni-directional i.e. copy fails server to client but succeeds client to server
-I don't notice any event log entries at the time I attempt to copy the file.
What DOES WORK
-downgrading to RDP 7.1 on the client WORKS
-modifying the file > 2 characters -- either changing existing characters or adding characters (CRLFs) WORKS
-compressing the file WORKS e.g. to a ZIP file
-copying OTHER files of smaller, same, and larger sizes WORKS
What DOES NOT WORK?
-changing the name and/or extension does not work
-copying and pasting affected content into a text file that used to have different content and did copy before, then does not work
-Disabling SMB3 and SMB2 does not work
-modifying TCP auto-tuning does not work
-disabling WinFW on both client and server does not work
As noted above, if I modify the affected file to sanitize it's contents, it will work, so it's not much help. I'm going to try to get a sample file exported that I can upload since I can't give you the original.
Your help is greatly appreciated!
Thanks.
KevinHi Dharmesh,
Thanks for your reply!
The issue does seem to affect multiple users. I'm not fully clear on whether it's multiple users and the same employee's file, but I suspect so.
The issue happens with a specific XML file and I've since determined that it seems to affect the exported RoE XML file for one employee (record?) in the software. Other employees appear to work.
The biggest issue is that there's limited support from the vendor in this scenario. Their app is supported on 2012 R2 RDS.
What I can't quite wrap my head around are
why does it work in RDP 7.1 but not 8.1? What differences between the two for drive redirection would have it work in 7.1 and not 8.1?
when I examine the affected file, it really doesn't appear any different than one that works. I used Notepad++ and it shows the encoding as the same and there doesn't appear to be any invalid characters in the affected file. I wondered
if there was some string of characters that was being misinterpreted by RDP or some other operation and blocked somehow but besides having disabled AV and firewall software on both ends, I'm not sure what else I could change to test that further
Since it seems to affect only the one employee's XML file AND since modifying that file to change details in order to post it online would then make that file able to be copied, it seems I won't be able to post a sample. Too bad.

My java client uses the following code to access the bean:
Hashtable props = new Hashtable();
String URL="iiop://localhost:3700";
props.put("java.naming.factory.initial","com.sun.jndi.cosnaming.CNCtxFactory");
props.put("java.naming.provider.url", URL) ;
InitialContext ctx = new InitialContext();
Object ref = ctx.lookup("ejb/StatelessSessionHome");
StatelessSessionHome home = (StatelessSessionHome)PortableRemoteObject.narrow(ref,StatelessSessionHome.class);
StatelessSessionRemote statelessSession = home.create();
plz help me to locate the error.
Regards,
MohitHi Amol,
thanks for your suggestion.
i have deployed the converter application in J2EE1.4 tutorial in Sun AppServer J2EE1.4. the deployment process works smoothly. but accessing the deployed converter bean using standalone client as given in the tutorial gives the following error.
Caught an unexpected exception!
javax.naming.NoInitialContextException: Need to specify class name in environmen
t or system property, or as an applet parameter, or in an application resource f

a:280)
at javax.naming.InitialContext.lookup(InitialContext.java:347)
at ConverterClient.main(ConverterClient.java:14)
I have set the InitialHost and InitialPort as suggested by you in the client code. the client gets successfully compiled but gives error when executed.
The client code is:
import javax.naming.Context;
import javax.naming.InitialContext;
import javax.rmi.PortableRemoteObject;
import java.math.BigDecimal;
public class ConverterClient {
public static void main(String[] args) {
System.setProperty("org.omg.CORBA.ORBInitialHost","localhost");
System.setProperty("org.omg.CORBA.ORBInitialPort","3700");
try {
Context initial = new InitialContext();
Object objref = initial.lookup
("java:comp/env/ejb/SimpleConverter");
ConverterHome home =
(ConverterHome)PortableRemoteObject.narrow(objref,
ConverterHome.class);
Converter currencyConverter = home.create();
BigDecimal param = new BigDecimal ("100.00");
BigDecimal amount =
currencyConverter.dollarToYen(param);
System.out.println(amount);
amount = currencyConverter.yenToEuro(param);
System.out.println(amount);
System.exit(0);
} catch (Exception ex) {
System.err.println("Caught an unexpected exception!");
ex.printStackTrace();
Please suggest so that i can run the standalone client successfully.

Hi,
I am bit confused about what i am seeing,
a. i used java client to talk to talk to server, got "untrusted server cert chain"
, ressolved the exceptio by adding certificate to cacerts file.
b. tried to connect to server using another weblogic server and not getting "untrusted
server cert chain", even when the certificates are not installed.
i dont know why it is throwning the SSLException in (a) and not in (b).
thanks,
NirmalaStand alone client takes its trusted certificate from the JDK cacerts keystore
by default.
SSL client running on server uses server trust configuration. By default the server
is configured to trust the CAs with certificates in DemoTrust.jks keystore and
the JDK cacerts keystore.
