"Illegal many to one link" error

Hi,<br /><br />I&#39;m using JRC to integrate Crystal reports into a web application. When I&#39;m trying to change the database connection info at runtime, the &#39;Illegal many to one link&#39; error is shown. I&#39;ve tried to search for description of that error, but found no solution. The preview in Report Designer works fine.<br />Could you suggest anything?<br />I&#39;m using Crystal Reports XI (Developer)<br /><br />Thanks.<br />

I am also getting this error using a jdbc connection to an Oracle 9i database. I am creating reports against a test database which has the same schema as the production database.  Due to configuration issues, I do not have access to our production database from my Crystal Reports Design envirionment so I need this code to work to retrieve produciton data when running through the JRC on our production system.
Any help would be appreciated.

  • Crystal Report Many to One Query Config error when using DataSet.ReadXML me

When I build a dataset with this method numerous relations are automatically created. I then map these fields onto crystal reports with ADO.net data connection. However when I run the report the following error occurs:
CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.InternalException: Cannot determine the queries necessary to get data for this report.Details:
This query cannot be performed. The link order requires many to one query configuration, which is not supported. Please rearrange the links.
If I remove the links (relations) i get duplicate data on the report. Is there any way to resolve this or a patch for the error?

    Hello, Mervin;
Since you are using ADO.NET dataset, is it possible to get all of the fields you need in one SQL Query outside of Crystal Reports?
If that is possible, you can use that dataset to create an XML or XSD file to use as the structure for your report.
    VB
'Using the full path to the .xml file, include the schema
    dataSet.WriteXml("C:\temp\test.xml", XmlWriteMode.WriteSchema)
    or
    dataSet.WriteXmlSchema("c:\temp\testXML.xsd")
Now create a new report with the ADO.NET(XML) connection and point to either the XML or XSD you created. XML is useful because you can view data in the report designer for final formatting of the report.
Now there is only one datasource and no linking is required in Crystal Reports. That should resolve the one to many issue.
Another useful tool is to group on the many and place all the fields normally in the detail section into that group header. Suppress the Detail and Group footer sections. The Group Header will now look like a Detail section and each distinct value will only appear once. You can group on one field or a combination (using a formula field) to get the results you need. Test this to be sure you do not miss anything you want to see.

    Hello.
I am using TopLink and Spring. I have the followng persistence.xml:

All my classes are inherited from StateOwner.class and only the RTerritory class has "one-to-many" and "many-to-one" relationships. When I add rterritory.xml to persistence.xml I have the following error (before all works fine):

I can't understand What do I do wrong when I include "one-to-many" and "many-to-one" mapping? I want to note it (above mapping) works rightly if I use OpenJpa and one works rightly with TopLink if I remove one-to-many and many-to-one and do them transient.
    Thanks a lot.

  • Sibling Link Errors

i recently purchased the Mac Pro which i connected through ethernet to my older Power Mac G4 MDD Dual 1GHZ.
i discovered last week that my Mac Pro reported an error in Disk Utility "Invalid Sibling Link" and that app could not repair the problem. i purchased Disk Warrior 4.0 and installed OS X on another internal drive (i have four connected internally) and successfully repaired the disk. On a lark, i checked the Power Mac G4 and found that it also reported errors which could not be repaired by Disk Utility, but it did not report the "Invalid Sibling Link Error." Disk Warrior failed to repair the disk (and i am waiting for the CD to arrive in the mail to start up from it to try again, reporting that it encountered two overlapped filed on the disk).
This week i ran Disk Utility to find that again, my Mac Pro reported the "Invalid Sibling Link" error. i have searched the web and have a basic understanding of what the error is, and many people have experienced the problem. It appears that the error could lead to the start up disk failing to mount, etc. However, i have not experienced any problems with my drive that have been noticeable to me.
My question is what could be causing me to have this repeated error? Does this indicate an actual hard drive failure? Is there a Mac virus that could cause this? Could it be caused by transfering files over the network or through Apple Remote Desktop?
Any discussion on this would be helpful. Thanks folks.
    MacPro Dual-Core 3 Ghz   Mac OS X (10.4.9)   ATi X1900 XT, NVIDIA GeForce 7300, 5GB RAM, 2.8TB, 20" DEll LCD, 2xViewSonic 17"

Which drive gets the error out of all installed, and
where is it located as far as file name etc. I'm
wondering if it could happen using an application
like FCP or CS2 running under Rosetta. Might want to
map it out and try and isolate it that way. I'd also
look for any hardware issues you can find for that
model of hard drive e.g. failures, etc. My two
    cents.
    Michael
It is the Startup Drive that gets the error on my Mac Pro (the preinstalled drive that came with the Mac), and the start up drive on the MDD G4. The MDD G4 had two files that were cross linked (a Civ file and an iTunes Temp file) that i had to manually delete before Disk Warrior could repair the drive. On the Mac Pro i have used Photoshop CS (1?) a little, but not to any large degree, other than that, i have used Apple's Pages, Safari, and Office... but nothing task intensive.
i ran Apple's Hardware test which appears to check RAM and the Logic Board and both checked out fine. i used both Disk Warrior and Drive Genius, both report that the S.M.A.R.T. status of the drive is verified and the drive is working properly.
i am curious if Apple Remote Desktop could cause the error? i frequently copy files from one computer to the other... but i can't fathom why or how this would be the case. But it has to be something, else why get this error twice in the space of a week?
i had not considered Tiger Cache Cleaner... i will check that out, but again, i don't know if this will tell me WHAT is going on and WHY it is happening.

  • TestStand CVI OI link errors

I was given a .UIR file from a teamate (another company), but no implementation, so that our GUI could ultimately look and feel like theirs (since that's what the customer wants).  I'm using CVI 8.0 and I opened up the .UIR and ran the UI to Code Converter tool.  Since the tool forces you to enter the name of the .h and .c target files (associated with the panel), I ran the tool one panel at a time.  Ultimately, I had about eight .h and eight .c files.  When I do a 'create executable', I get 60 link errors.  The messages are all quite similar (but for different symbols) in that they say "Undefined symbol, '_SD_ExeEntryPoint1' referenced in SeqDisp.c".  I see where I use SD_ExeEntryPoint1 (no underscore in front), but I don't see where the _(underscore) version is coming from/being referenced.  Any clues here would be very appreciated.
In general, though, is this a correct approach?  Can I begin with a UIR that has much of the TestStand full-featured OI functionality available in its different panels and generate code, then begin filling in each template that's produced?

You can find a new style OI in:
    C:\Program Files\National Instruments\TestStand 3.<x>\OperatorInterfaces\NI\Full-Featured\CVI\
I don't have an old TestStand installed to be sure, but the old style OI would probably be found in:
    C:\Program Files\National Instruments\TestStand <1.x or 2.x>\OperatorInterfaces\NI\Full-Featured\CVI\
The old style example has a lot more code and that code is more complicated than the code in the new style example.
The UIR you have is a CVI file, thus converting it to TestStand 3.5 doesn't apply.
If you have to implement the whole application from scratch (instead of from the source code that goes with the UIR you have), you will probably be better off in the long run by starting the example from TestStand 3.5 and modifying it using the UIR you received as a user interface specification of sorts.
Controls on the old UIR that did "TestStand" things like display the steps in a sequence are now ActiveX controls in the new example which you configure and connect to other controls. In the old example, the function of these controls was entirely implemented in the example source code and the result was complex code with less functionality.
If there are controls in the UIR that were not part of the old example and do not directly implement "TestStand" functionality, you can probably just cut and paste them into the UIR from your 3.5 example and implement their callbacks according to their function.
BTW. I'm not sure I completely understand your situation were you have been given the UIRs but not the source for application and tasked with reimplementing it.  Assuming the source code is absolutely not available and that you have to make significant modifications from the functionality the TestStand examples provide, then the new example is a better starting point. However, it won't look "exactly" the same. In many cases it will look better. Run the old and new examples to see the difference.

  • Strange Linker error using Forte 6

    Hi,
I am getting an unusual linker error while trying to compile something using Forte 6 update 2. First some backgrond
We have an internal application currently running on a Solaris 2.6 box. I wish to move it to a Solaris 8 box. The application uses mainly apache, perl and mysql. One of the perl modules used is the old SPGrove module written by James Clark (www.jclark.com), which in turn uses the libsp.a library from the 'sp' distribution by the same author. I can find information on compiling/running 'sp' on O/S versions upto solaris 7 but not 8. Having tried all the available versions of gcc I finally gave up and tried Forte 6.
Having had problems with applications and dynamic libraries complied with different compilers before I have compiled perl 5.6.1 using Forte 6, I have installed all the required perl modules and I have successfully compiled version 1.3.4 of the 'sp' package.
The old SGML::SPGrove modules is no longer available and has been replaced by two newer ones, SGML::Grove, which installs fine, and SGML::SPGroveBuilder, which has some C++ code which is linked against the libsp.a library as mentioned above. The module (once certain options have been set to get the correct environment) compiles fine but when I run the test suit I get the following error.
Can't load 'blib/arch/auto/SGML/SPGroveBuilder/SPGroveBuilder.so' for module SGML::SPGroveBuilder: ld.so.1: /usr/local/bin/perl: fatal: relocation error: file blib/arch/auto/SGML/SPGroveBuilder/SPGroveBuilder.so: symbol __1cG__CrunLvector_copy6Fpv1IIpF11_vpF1_v_v_: referenced symbol not found at /usr/local/lib/perl5/5.6.1/sun4-solaris/DynaLoader.pm line 206.
The symbol '__1cG__CrunLvector_copy6Fpv1IIpF11_vpF1_v_v_' is contained in libCrun.so in the Forte installation. I have no idea what it is, or why I get the error.
Sorry to be so long winded, but I wanted to give enough information so that I didnt get 'too many' easy to answer questions about the environment.
'uname -snrvmapiX' for the system is:

Just to clarify, the I get the error during the 'make test' part of the normal perl module build process for installing the SGML::SPGroveBuilder module (perl Makefile.PL; make; make test; make install).
Perl and SGML::SPGroveBuilder are both complied using Forte 6 update 2. The only difference being that perl (being normal C code) was compiled using the C compiler '/usr/local/SUNWspro/bin/cc' and the module requires the C++ complile '/usr/local/SUNWspro/bin/CC'.
I have to make minor modifications to Makefile.PL before it will compile at all. These modifications are:
    1) Forcing the C++ compiler as perl will try to use exactly the same binary as was used to compile itself.
    2) Setting a few #define's so that the same ones are used to build the module as were used to build the sp library that is linked in with the module.
    3) Adding the various directories where both libsp.a (yes statically linked, no dynamic one in the sp distribution) and the required header files (all in the sp distribution) are located.
I have since tried recompiling perl (with Forte 6 update 2) with no dynamicaly loaded libraries and get the same error. I have also found a tiny little patch to OpenSPv1.5pre5 (which is the replacement for the original sp distribution) which allowed me to compile eveything with gcc 3.1, perl, opensp (v1.5pre5) and SGML::SPGroveBuilder, and I get a very similar error at the same stage but a different symbol name.
I am begining to think that its gone to far and there are too many branching oppertunities where I have made a mistake (I've really tried way way way too many combinations now), or that the SPGroveBuilder module simply has a probelm with the C++ code in it. It has not been updated in some time.
I am going to try removing everything from the box and start from scratch, patch it to the hilt and try it from the beginning.
Of course, any flashes of brilliance that come to mind would still be greatly appreciated :-)

  • Link error while upgrading from 4.2 to 6.2

Need help in resloving a link error. I have sucessfully upgraded(4.2 - 6.2) three projects and this one is giving me problems. We are using standard streams and I have removed .h from the header files.
    My command line options are.
    CPPFLAGS = -G -KPIC -mt -DRWSTD_MULTI_THREAD -D__EXTERN_C__ \

    And link options are:
    LINKOPTS= -mt -O3 $(LIBDIRS) $(LIBS) -library=rwtools7_std \
    -staticlib=rwtools7_std -xildoff
    Link Error is:

Thanks for help and any suggestions.

You said that the command line has "-DRWSTD_MULTI_THREAD", is that correct? Or is it really "-D_RWSTD_MULTI_THREAD"? We do not support customer modification or declaration of any _RW* macros. Attempting to modify them from the way we ship the libraries will cause link or run-time failures.
What is the symbol "__EXTERN_C__"? All names starting with two underbars are reserved to the implementation. This might cause trouble if you have defined a such a name for you own use.
Are the two undefined symbols the only ones that the linker complained about? If there were very many symbols having "std::" in the spelling, it's probably because you didn't build your shared library with a dependency on libCstd.so. When building a C++
shared library, it is important not to link libCstd.a or libCrun.a statically, but always to link against the dynamic versions. As explained in the C++ User's Guide in the section on building libraries, you must mention explicitly the system libraries that your library depends on. No system libraries are included by
    default.
Maybe you didn't make any of these mistakes, but I can't tell from the information provided. The actual full command lines are necessary to tell exactly what you did. Without knowing exactly what you did, there's no way to tell what was wrong.

  • Mac CS4 Linker Error with IAIColorSpace.cpp

    Hi Folks,
I'm trying to use AIColorSpace in my Mac AICS4 Plug-In using Xcode 3.1.1 on Leopard 10.5.7, but I'm getting a linker errors (see below).
Has anyone here included "IAIColorSpace.cpp" in their project and successfully compile an AICS4 plug-in using Xcode 3.1.1 on Leopard?
When I include IAIColorSpace.cpp in my project, I get a linker error of:
    _sAIColorSpace, referenced from
    _sAIColorSpace$non_lazy_ptr in IAIColorSpace.o
    symbol(s) not found
collect2: Id returned 1 exit status
There are many Google hits of "non_lazy_ptr" errors with Xcode, but nothing has helped me solve this issue. Any help would be most appreciated!
    Thanks!
    -- Jim

The usual culprit is that sAIColorSpace needs to be defined in all the right places. Typically its EXTERN'd in both a header & a cpp, as well as included in a list of suites to load (along with the version of the suite to load). Have you added it to all three places? Usually you just find the spots where all the other suties are and cut & paste it into their number. Where that would be depends on whether you're using your own plugin setup or if you're working off one of the Adobe skeleton samples plugins.

  • One link opens in minimized window

    Hi,
the client application has a library with a links. Some of them open in the client interface but most of them in IE.
There is a problem with one Link that actually opens IE but the window is minimized right after opening.
    I need to demystify this...
The difference between opened browser window and minimized (after maximizing it) is:
Opened normally browser is the window with address bar and buttons (just full browser).
Opened in minimized mode is "locked" to not have all the above features. Just has Internet Explorer name in window frame.
The app that I am using is a Virtual Package. I saw one example where the same app is installed locally (not virtualized) opens the link that is minimized in my case normally. I would check closely both cases.
The IE versions are different in my example. Mine is IE8 other was 10.
Personally, I don't think that virtualized app may have any impact. The app calls local IE.
I am not an expert in HTML codding, but I believe there is something in page creation that push the window to minimize.
What it could be? Why the page minimized and why the window that is minimized is "locked"?
    Thanks.
--- When you hit a wrong note its the next note that makes it good or bad. --- Miles Davis

Opened in minimized mode is "locked" to not have all the above features. Just has Internet Explorer name in window frame.
Please clarify what you mean by "minimized".  Sounds like you may be describing a normal mode window that has some strange properties, perhaps because it is small.
E.g. the first thing that I thought of when I saw your title is:  window open, off screen, since many users don't think to look at the Taskbar thumbnail's right-click menu to infer the state of their windows.  Only if they see Minimized greyed
out in the menu should they call their window "minimized".  Is that your case before you "Maximized" it?  And did you Maximize it or just Restore it?  Again, please consider the inferences available by considering the window's
state as given by its right-click menu.
Also here, where you are indicating that you actually see only a window title bar but nothing else means it is a custom created window.  I thought we were always supposed to see at least an Address bar when this was done but perhaps you have some
software which has been able to work around that restriction.  It was added when it was possible to create "chromeless" windows which were not in Fullscreen mode and malicious sites were creating fake dialogs with such functionality.  In
any case when such techniques were used it used to be possible to clone the window with Ctrl-N and then that copy would have the content in a window with more normal controls.  So, see if you can clone the content of your "locked" window
    by pressing  Ctrl-N.

  • How can i change traffic form one link to other link automatic !!!

I am providing two links to my client, one link has bandwidth 15 Mpbs and other link has 10 Mpbs (through same router but ports are different) via BGP. My client want that if his primary link goes down then his backup link become 25 Mpbs, vice versa.
I have studied Cisco event manger, but want to know that there is any other way to do this task. can it be done by route-map ???
    Many thanks in advance !!!

Hi there's a few ways to do this ,your using BGP so you could set the primary link to have a better local preference than the backup link , you can also use a route-map to specify which subnets to allow all traffic or just some subnets or alter 1 of BGPs other attributes as well , you could send them a less preferred(higher) MED for the backup link
    or
you could use ip sla with tracking of specific routes across the primary and the use a route-map to set the ip next-hop if the route becomes unavailable and add the verify-availability on it to make sure the link you move too can definitely send traffic across the backup and reach the new verified route
EEM can be difficult to setup i would avoid it for something like this when there are easier options available
If this helps please mark as correct

Remember card catalogs in libraries?   The computer has its own card catalog that tells it where all the files are.  That's known as the directory.
Sibling link error indicates something is wrong with one of the cards, making the computer lost.  Now the computer will put forth a bunch of gobbledy gook to fix this error, but you can do it.
Since the issue is with the external hard disk, you must select it with Disk Utility's First Aid selected.   There you will repair the disk.   If it can't repair the disk, you will need to use a more powerful tool.  The question is, is your data backed up elsewhere, or is it not?  If it is not, the same symptoms of a bad directory can also implicate a dying hard drive.  You'll want a data recovery tool if you aren't backed up.  If you are backed up, and there is nothing that can't be replaced on that external hard drive, get Alsoft Disk Warrior.  This should fix most bad sibling link errors repair disk can't.  When it can't, you can give up on the external hard disk.
P.S. Permissions has NOTHING to do with the directory.  Do not worry about issues with permissions or attempting to repair it at this stage.

  • Invalid sibling link error

I have a 15" PB which gave an "invalid sibling link error" one month ago and I was not able to even repair it using DiskWarrior. I have Apple Care Protection plan, so I sent it for repairs and the repair guys replaced the motherboard as they suspected it was the reason. On return, I reformatted the HD and installed everything from stratch. Everything was working fine till last Saturday morning, when computer would not boot up. So I checked using Disk Utility from PB DVD, and the dreaded "invalid sibling error" came up again. Since I have a bootable backup of the HD, I formatted the HD and tried to load the system on the HD from the backup copy. But the writing of backup using CCC hung up and I had to quit it. After that I was not able to find the HD using Disk Utility from DVD.
I have sent it for repairs again, but can anyone help me understand the core problem here. Since last time they replaced the motherboard, I think they will replace the HD this time around. Is the logic board, motherboard or the HD that is the root cause of the problem?
    Powerbook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.7)   100GB HDD, 1.5GB RAM

I had never heard of "invalid sibling link error" until you post, and when I ran a search on it the best explanation I could find is that it is a directory-related problem. See the following (assuming it is correct): http://www.computing.net/mac/wwwboard/forum/2584.html The suggestion there, though, is that DIsk Warrior should be able to fix the problem, and you've already told us that you tried using Disk Warrior on it and it did not work.
Very puzzling. Please post back what happens when you get your PB back from being repaired.
    Good luck.

  • Re: Link error during fcompile

    Hi Jeanne:
I have already gone trough the procedure you have described but the
    result is same.
When I invoke link command on all the *.obj files with some libraries
    from forte and
MSVC/Lib I get the same Error. The command I am invoking is
    C:\> link *.obj *.lib
Assuming that I am in the dir where all .obj files are and I have copied
all required .lib files in this dir. Other thing that I have also tried
this with different link flags and/or with exact flags from Forte log
    file.
    Thanks for your respons.
    Any othe suggestions please?

    Shahzad,
Have you tried manually invoking the link command itself from the
    command
line? I was able to do this successfully when having problems with
    the
Borland compiler under 16-bit windows. It is not a long-term
    solution,
because you obviously want fcompile to handle the entire task, but it
    might
help you determine if it is a problem with the fcompile or the linker
    itself.
I executed the fcompile from a DOS window in the ...codegen\myapp
directory. When the error occurred, I found the log file that is
    created
from the fcompile, and determined the last command that was executed.
    I
can't tell you the exact specifics here, because I have not had
    problems
with fcompile using the MSVC compiler. But I am assuming that Forte
    is
consistent about writing the compiler output to a log file. I could
    then
copy the command line from the log file to the command line in the dos
    window and execute it manually.
You have to be careful copying the command line, because there are a
    lot of
flags, and they ARE case-sensitive. If you get the same error when
invoking the command manually, then you can assume that the problem is
    with
the compiler itself, or as it was in my case, with the compiler
    setup. If
the command is successful when you execute it manually, then you can
    pursue
it as a problem with the fcompile.
One other thought -- you might make sure that you have plenty of extra
    disk
space. Compilers like to write temporary files during the compile
    process.
On a very large compile, you might need a lot of working space for
    these
temporary files. I believe the MSVC compiler writes these files to
    the
directory indicated by the environment variable TMP (not TEMP).
    Hope this helps,

The way to handle this is to break down the fcompile. Here is the
    process:
    1. fcompile -nocompile -fm "(x:40000)"
this will produce the CPP and H files
    2. fcompile -nogen -fm "(x:40000)"
this will link the files and produce the exe.
If there is an error then you will know exactly where its happening.
    Hope this helps.

I have tried that I have even tried
    fcompile -fm '(x:400000)'
It seems like its the Microsoft Compiler and/or Linker problem. There
have to be some flags for compiler or linker I can
set with fcomile so it allocate more memory for the MSVC linker.
Any more clues or help ????

There are flags for setting the usage of memory by the fcompile

    250k.
    the default is 64k.
    Get it a try.

  • Create more than one link to a document

I am a RoboHelp 6 user. I can only link to a Word document or PDF once, in other words if I create more than one link to a document, the second link is broken. I would appreciate it if anyone can tell me how I can get around this.

    Hi again
So sorry, but I'm out of ideas and will have to leave you to find someone that uses RoboHelp for Word. Unfortunately, you are using a product that has an ever shrinking user base. Many have moved on to RoboHelp HTML. You may wish to consider switching as well. Here's why.
There are more users that are familiar with it and are able to help you troubleshoot.
    You are creating HTML output.
The editing interface is very "Word like", so there is very little (if any) learning curve.
Creating HTML output from Word based documents will always be a trade off and sometimes a struggle. It's like trying to extract water from oil. (IMNSHO of course)
    Something to think about... Rick

Kindly help me in resolving the error.

If you are not going to use the automatically generated hyperlink then this is the link you have to write in the column:
    i.e.:
    ="<a  href=http://myTest:8080/OpenDocument/opendoc/openDocument.jsp?iDocID=393118&sWindow=New&sKind=FullClient&lsSMyPrompt:="+[MyDimension]+">u201D+[MyDimension]+u201D</a>"
where iDocId is the number of your document and MyPrompt is the prompt you are using, better if it doesn't contain empty spaces, i.e. InsertCode or SelectNumber.  And MyDimension is the name of teh dimesnion you are passing through the prompt.
