Ok, everytime I open my mail on the dock, it does NOTHING!! I really would like some help please! it is very inconvenient to keep having to log onto the web. If anyone can help at all, I would very much appreciate it!

Are you able to open Mail from the Applications folder? If so, then the alias in the Dock is probably not linked to the Mail in Applications for some reason. Click and drag the Mail alias in the Dock off the Dock so it goes poof. Then click and drag Mail to the Dock again to create a new Dock alias.

Hello i am very mad! please help

soooo i just got a ipod shuffle 4g for christmas but only like one tiny problem when i want to sync my library to my ipod 1 song takes about 1 hour why is it so slow and when i plugged it out and back in it said that it couldnt find it and something inside my ipod was broken or something and wanted me to restore it but there we're only one problem itunes wouldnt let me restore it i have had a ipod nano and i have never had any problems with that but if this does not work im gonna get my mother******* money back and never buy an apple product again so please help

I'm so very mad at Toshiba. U845T Is this a Windows 8 only computer??? I can't install any other OS

I would consider myself a Pro regarding hardware and software yet I can't figure out any way to install Windows 7 or any other OS on this piece of **bleep**. The mainboard and BIOS I have never heard of and it plain sucks. I've tried installing from windows, from DVD, from Flash drive etc. I even turned off UEFI and tried to format the drive to start fresh with no luck. I HATE windows 8 even with Classic Shell. With UEFI Bios on Win 7 disk doesn't see any drives. With it off it doesn't boot the DVD. No matter what I select as the primary boot device it still loads Win 8 and I have to go into advanced start options every time to try to boot media. This computer is a nightmare and I'll never buy one again. I'll try tech support but I'm not hopeful. If you read this and haven't purchased a new computer yet. Save yourself a lot of headache and just buy a Mac. Not a fan of OS X? No problem. You can install Windows, Linux, or Solaris without issue. If you've uncovered the secret to getting this brick to run Win 7 please reply because I can't return it at this point.

Really messed up how you are making us buy a 5th gen iPod just to get iOS7. Apple needs to be fair.

The new 7.04 iso has almost trashed my wifi... Why?

Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
    •    Launch Settings app
    •    Tap on Wi-Fi
    •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
    •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. my iphone 3gs is stuck in recocery mode. i have tried to restore it but even after i do it is still showing the usb cord and the itunes icon, how do i fix this?

after restoring to factory settings, it shows the USB cord and iTunes icon, but when you connect as it's asking you to do, you should be able to access the phone again.

I have a vortex by LG. I got it in feb.2011. I have had trouble with it since that day. Turning off all the time , screen locking up, sending txt to someone different ,SD card not working ,which I have handled all these problems myself by resetting/swiping it clean often (which is a pain) taking the battery out , turning it off for a few hours , blah blah blah ,you know all the stuff you do to have a phone on the go. I asked around & most other people who had this phone was pleased. I only know off 3 other people who have this phone. then about a 3wks ago the SD card wouldn't mount or just wouldn't read @ all. I tried everything I knew to do . I go to the Verizon store waited my entire lunch break ( 1 hour) finally someone tried to help me I told him my problem he said well your going have to buy a new SD card which was about 60$ . I felt I waited for nothing. I spent over an hour for him too hold my phone & tell me pay more money. he still couldn't tell me why it did this or how to fix it . Just pay more money . Well I had a extra SD card from my camera it worked then few day later starts the same thing , good thing I didn't buy one cause looks like I would have had to spend it again anyways , but I could @ least call out & get calls. Finally a few days later my screened locked up completely I tried all the blah blah blah stuff again. This time it was no fixing it . I go to a different Verizon store hoping to get better/faster help I walk in & tell the lady my problem again on my lunch break she picks up the phone dials customer service & hands me the phone. I think really I could have did this myself why are you people even here! So the guy on the phone says your still under warranty we will send you a new phone or u can upgrade & get a new phone I asked for what kind of price he said the price of the phone , I said no thanks I just paid 200$ for this phone & haven't even got to enjoy it , just send me a new phone he said it could take up to 5 days!!! What I said can , u get it here any faster he replied yes for 13$ I can ship it overnight but it would take 2 days uh, just thought he said overnight!!! I guess over night doesn't mean what it says but I said I don't feel I should pay it since I really didn't break my phone he said there was nothing he could do but it probably wouldn't take the full 5 days they just have to say that ... Wow OK so 5 days goes by without any phone to use . I finally get the phone but it take the full 5 days,plus the 2 days I tried to fix it to avoid the stores I follow the instruction to activate it thought it was fine but then the next morning I get a call @ work from my babysitter stating my phone still didn't work!! After work I go back to the 1st Verizon store (which I dreaded so much I would have rather shot myself in the foot , but I'm a nurse who needs my foot & phone) since I had no help from either stores guess it didn't matter which one I went too. After waiting a good 45 MINUTES for help they finally look @ my phone they were stumped on what was wrong cause it said it was activated but not working they finally call someone & the guy finally tell me its is activated under someone else's # ! OK so what do I do ?? The guy hands me the phone says they needs to verify my address ( which I thought to make sure I account holder ) I gave the phone back to the guy @ the store they talk for a few more MINUTES. & he said OK , I was like OK what ! Oh he didn't tell you we are going have to send you NEW phone again!!! Really I have to go another 6 days without a phone!! He offered if I brought an old phone back in(which I live 20 MINUTES away) he could activate that one till I get the new phone in... 1st off I don't keep old phones I recycle them ( thought that was a good thing)& even if I did have one it wouldn't be a smartphone & that's what I pay dearly for... ( a phone store who can't lend you a phone while they are fixing your phone that you didn't break even thou you are still paying them for a phone) MESSED UP RIGHT! He said it shouldn't be that long they are going to overnight it for free but it was Saturday So he said I should get it TUESDAY.**lol overnight what !! Do I not know what overnight means*** I was like yeah yeah YOU ALL say that ! I left the store in tears I depend on my phone I have a 1 yr old child & my job depends on my phone as well . My iPod wont let me put any songs on it!

I went to the apple store and the Genius guy restored it for me and erased everything. Then I put it into my computer and my ipod doesn't show up on i tunes it's like its not there! I don't know what to do and I am starting to get very mad!

Help! Warranty void, I don't know what to do!?!?!

So after a long time of dealing with issuses with my Macbook Pro, I finally decided enough was enough and to send it in for repairs under warranty. Problems with it were as follows:
Heat:
At 100 percent CPU useage for both cores my computer was reaching up to 204F (or around 100C) in temperature. It was getting so hot I burned my hand on it.
Battery:
Throughout the time that I have owned the computer, which was since march of this year, the battery capacity has deminished greatly. I use a program called coconut battery to monitor this. I also used my own personal observation, where by this point I was only getting an hour battery life after a full charge. I only have about 45 load cycles on the battery.
Other:
There were also issues like the screen being slightly warped, where the right corner was not completely lining up with the left, and the chrome on the button on the front of the computer having mostly warn off...but I told them if they atleast got the heat and battery fixed I'd be happy. The representative who I talked to definately seemed to agree with me that the issues I was having would be covered under the warranty.
So, I sent the computer in and as of today I got a call saying that there was liquid spill damage, and that the warranty was void. If I wanted it repaired they would have to replace the logic board, the superdrive, the battery, and some other things I can't remember for a grand total of 1200 dollars. Here I am, a poor college student that has been an avid mac user for most of my life, telling people how great macs are and convincing people to buy them but only having a little 500mhz ibook on loan from my parents, and only by pure luck had some family members help me out to buy this computer for school. Then to hear that nothing is covered and that I am supposed to come up with 1200 dollars SOMEHOW, just because some liquid got on the computer.
This so called liquid damage that they are reffering to probably occured when I was working and had my computer on the desk...someone must have been drinking a coke cause when I came back there was a coke can on its side, but not exactly very close to the computer, and the liquid had seeped underneath the machine. When I picked the mac up there was liquid on the bottom of it, but only because those little useless rubber standoffs they put on the bottom of these Macbook Pro's was not high enough to be above the thickness of a water based liquid as it runs across a desk. At that point I promptly had unplugged the battery from my computer and the power cable and dried it all off. From that day no NEW problems had surfaced, the battery and heat issue had already existed.I didn't expect that any should because the liquid had only reached the bottom side of the computer and it was shut off quickly.
I know of a guy who had an ibook, and he spilled a whole can of coke while he was driving into the keboard while it was on. When the computer then shut itself off because it just couldn't operate with so much soda in its guts, the guy then tried to turn it back on!! No response of course, but that night we took it completely appart, dried out every component and put it back together. The thing booted up perfectly. So it makes me VERY mad when they tell me everything wrong with my mac is due to a liquid spilling on it!
Is there anything I can do? Any legal recourse I can take to get this resolved? Anyone who knows anything about this please let me know. Thanks!

Where was your desk?
I think you should find the drinker/spiller of the coke.
Getting electronics wet usually kils them, they aren't made water proof or even resistant.
Logic board+super drive+batery=$1200 probably not far off.
Some one owes you 1200 cokes and IMHO it is not Apple.

Pavilion Dv7 4165dx Hard drive failure and performance issues?

I have a pavilion dv7 4165dx notebook that was working great until a couple of months when the performance of my machine started to decrease rapidly. I have performance issues with the machine because it takes 1 to 2 minutes to get from the welcome screen to the actual desktop and another 3 to 4 minutes for it to be ready to use. I already upgrade the memory from 4gb to 8gb but instead of going faster it goes slower and i also did a clean install of windows but it didn't help. Before i have problems it took maybe 30 to 50 seconds to go from the welcome screen to the actual desktop and 1 minute and 30 seconds to be ready to use and by the way i use soluto to tell me when the machine is ready for use.Then last week i notice that the headphone jack wasn't working properly so i contact hp and they told me to send them the laptop so i did, they replace the motherboard and they send it back to me and i just got it today it got a little better but it still lags on the welcome screen and to open programs. I check the memory using memtest 86 and the memory it's fine, but i check the hard drive with HDD Regenerator 2011 and it show i have one delayed sector. Then i check on hd tune pro and it show me some WARNING on section Calibration retry count( as you can see on the picture below) so my question is should i be worry and send it back to hp or what can i do to fix the problem i am having with this notebook?

I have the same laptop and have had issues with it since the day i brought it home. I have had it for a year now and am now replacing the hard drive for the 3rd time. My guess would be its your hard drive because most of the issues you seem to be having ar the same ones ive been dealing with for a while. I can say I'm very mad about the quality of this laptop and am in the process of battling with HP over this issue. If you have a chance go online and look at all the hard drive issues that this laptop has had and even look at the HP forums for this issue it will irritate you and make you wonder why this hasn't been fixed yet!

I am trying to load and run a game called asheron's call and keep getting blocked from doing what i want to do. what can i do to fix it so mi can get to play the game

i get game downloaded and icon on desktop the company has to send an e-mail so i can connect to a link for the game and it keeps getting blocked might be the firewall or cookies block not sure how ever i can't play the game and getting very mad how can this be fixed

I get an error message saying that this app can't run on my pc and that I need to find a version that will work through my administrator.
That suggests that the installer is getting damaged during the download.
I'd first try downloading an installer from the Apple website using a different web browser:

If you use Firefox instead of IE for the download (or vice versa), do you get a working installer?

Sorry about this being extremely long.
Recently my iBook broke down so i sent it to get repaired turned out something was wrong with the hard drive so all my stuff went bye bye. I thought i had backupped everything but i realzed about 600 songs were not so i didnt want to lose them so i put my ipod into manual mode so i can keep them, but one day while adding a podcast something happened and iTunes crashed. After that wen i plugged back in my iPod it was no longer recognized by iTunes unless i erased everything and started over so after a week i decided to say goodbye to the songs and redo everything. I hooked up my hard drive and addded the songs to my ipod it was sort of a lot of songs, about 5300. So i let it update then watched a movie to let the time go, when i came back it still wasnt done so i started watching it to see how fast it was going, i quicly realized it was stuck at a certain song meaning at song about 4700 it just stopped syncing. I found the song in iTunes and played it to see if it worked, it did but i thought its just one song so i deleted it to move things along, nothing changed I guess iTunes didn't realized i delted it cuz it was still trying to add it, so i clicked the eject button so i could unplug it and plug it back to finish the syncing. When i did this itunes froze and after about 5 minutes i restarted my ipod by holding down menu and play, because itunes would not quit no matter how many times i hit the force quit button, but as soon as i unplugged the ipod it quit automaticly. So i grabbed my ipod and noticed NONE of the songs were there yet the space had still been taken up so I got very mad then plugged it back in and watched it update for half an hour then once again on a different song it froze. i got very mad, so mad i slammed my fist on my laptop and my ipod. I guess i was very mad because i cut myself and bled from the click wheel. Then I did it a third time, this time being very careful. Every 1000 songs i ejected it and checked if the songs were working then i plugged it back in, i did this 4 times then i stopped for the night because from the first time i plugged it in till that point had taken about 5 hours. So i played a few songs on it to make sure everything was fine, and it was fine indeed so i thought i wud update it later. A few days later i got some new music so i added them and every now and then i would add little by little. However now it doesnt work, it is doing what it used to do. When i try to add new music it maybe adds 4 or 5 then stops adding them and if i try to quit iTunes it freezes and wont quit until i unplug the ipod, when i unplug the ipod i get the warning thing, but all the songs work fine EXCEPT the songs i was trying to add. I thought maybe I should just wait so i updated it today and after waiting about 30 minutes for a song to update i was fed up. I do notice that the hard drive makes noises every once in a while, I know hard drive make noise because they spin and bla bla bla BUT what i hear is like a "da da da da da da" like it keeps tryin to write something but cant. I kind of think when i slammed my fist on it i might have messed something up internally that is why it always stops updating past a certain point. What do you think? The worst part is the warrenty juss expired a few weeks ago, so if I am right and the hard drive is the problem how much do you think it costs to fix it?

I have the same problem as yours with my 3rd Gen iPod, which hardly pass thru the 100 songs mark. Seems there are some recovered bad sectors on the Hard drive of the iPod. see doing the following helps
For Mac computer
1. Open the disk utility, hope your iPod appears there (left hand side), highlight it
2. Go to Tab “Partition”, click either “Delete” or “Partition”, if fails, skip this step and go to 3
3. Go to Tab “Erase” , choose Volume Format as “MAC OS Extended (Journaled), and click Erase, again if fails, skip it and go to 4
4. Same as step 3, but open the “Security Options....” and choose “Zero Out Data” before click Erase. It will take 1 to 2 hours to complete.
5. Eject your iPod and do a Reset
6. Open the iTunes 7 and click “Restore”

Im very mad!!
