Imac download (affecting ipad and iphone in home wireless)
I bought an imac 21.5 inch desktop yesterday and hooked it up to my bigpond 7.2 home network gateway wireless with ethernet. downloads are slow, internet pages are slow and some downloads just time out. the ipad and iphone downloads in the house are also affected by this since the imac was bought. very frustrated. any HELP appreciated
I don't use iTunes for audiobooks, I prefer Audible. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong, I don't beleive AuidoBooks can be re-downloaded or appear in the iTunes Store Purchased list. You will have to connect the iPad to iTunes on a computer where you can "Transfer Purchase" to the computer's iTunes Library then sync it to the iPhone.
I'm not sure I know what you mean by iTunes on the iPhone. The iTunes Store is labeled the same "iTunes" name in iOS 6 on both the iPhone and the iPad. Similarly audiobooks will appear in the Music app on both devices once an audiobook is synced to it.

Hello again!
For some reason since yesterday I have been unable to connect my iPhone and my iPad to my wireless router. I have tried turning everything off and on again and checked my settings to make sure they are right but I keep getting the message on both, that I am unable to connect to my Bigpond A29.....
Does anyone have any suggestions for what else I can try to fix this? This has only happened since I have upgraded them both with the IOS7.2Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
• Launch Settings app
• Tap on Wi-Fi
• Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
• In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.

IPADs and IPhones dropping off wireless network
I have a site with a number of iphones and ipads that are attaching to a Wireless network managed by a lan controller ( cisco 2504 )
but they seem to drop off every 16 minutes .... and can then get back on a few minutes later.
Any ideas appreciated.

Im trying to sync my new imac with my ipads and iphones, I have alot of music on my devices and when I plug them in to the new imac i get a message that states this devise is paired to another computer (my opd PC ) When I logged into Itunes it uploaded my music the I had purchased in the past , But for the music that was burned from CDs it doesn't. I dont want to lose my music. what can I do?

While it isn't as easy to just use a Mac iDevice as media storage as Android and Windows, you can add documents and such like Word, PDF and others manually in iTunes to have them sync as well.

I have a iMac, MacBook pro, iPad and iPhone. NOTES on my desktop computr and lap town automatically sorts alphabetically, but won't on my iPad or iPhone. How can I get NOTES to sort alphabetically on the iPad and iPhone?
There is no option for this. They sort in date edited order, newest on top.

How to change appleid on laptop to match ipad and iphone?
My laptop has an old email address and the icloud promt came up to re-login for security purposes and the password that I use for apple store does not work although it works on my ipad and iphone. Therefore if i purchase something from apple store, it downloads on ipad and iphone but not on laptop because it won't accept the password that I use on the other two devices. If you back up to iTunes, when your Mac backs up to the Time Capsule, the data in iTunes is included.

Since we downloaded the latest version of iOS on our iPad and iPhone, and synchronized our music collection in the Cloud, we can no longer see on our iPad and iPhone the music from our CD's that we have on our home computer's iTunes library. We can only see music in the iPhone and iPad library that have been purchased on iTunes. How can we get all our music from our computer's iTunes librbary visible on the iPhone and iPad? My Mac Mail subfolders on my MacBook Air will not sync in alphabetical order. I am assuming it is a setting that I am not finding since my iMac based at my home office is fine, so is my iPad and iPhone. The core source is Exchange.
If you have been using the mac.com Apple ID to make iTunes purchases recently, then there should be no issues continuing to use it with the new iPhone. I would abandon the new ID as you will never get Apple to merge the two IDs. I have had a mac.com ID for years and continue to use it with my iPhone 4S.

Why must I force quit (double press home and slide off) Mail on both my iPad and iPhone in order to have Mail access on my iMac on the same wifi network. Fetch is set to manual and my ISP is Charter.
I don't know about the "3" but it's a POP account. I've always suspected that Charter isn't letting go using their mobile apps for iOS. Puzzling that it doesn't block the other way. That is if Mail is open on the iMac it doesn't block access to Mail on either the iPad or iPhone. I'm guessing it's their mobile apps that are the problem but they won't admit it to me.

Hi Guys - for a few days I have been having problems downloading and updating apps on my iPad and iPhone. The message cycles between waiting and downloading then eventually says unable to download app. Sometimes after many attempts it wil eventually work. I tested it on an old iPhone 3G and got the same problem so it is not an iOS 5 issue. My WI-FI connection is working fine. I was wondering if this is an App Store problem? Anyone else in the UK having this problem?

I have two Apple IDs - one associated with iPad and iPhone and the other associated with iMac and MacAir. I am going to lose the former e-mail address imminently and would like to associate all devices with just one ID. How do I do this? Thanks
Thanks - I guess it is like there were two of me!
I bought the iPhone first and it seemed natural to link it to the (work) e-mail address which was in constant use. The iMac for home use came next and it seemed natural to use my home e-mail address, particularly as I knew by then that I would lose the work address after my imminent retirement. The same logic went for the recent puchase of the MacAir. I am not sure what happened with the iPad (also a recent purchase) - iTunes seemed to puch me towards the same ID as the iPhone.
It is not a huge problem - just makes my persona look schizoid! Otherwise very happy with everything Apple. -

I couldn't download any app into my iPAD. Puzzled by this strange condition, I tried downloading the same chosen app into my iPhone. It worked!
I use the same Apple ID for both my iPAD and iPhone. So why is it not working for my iPad? Previously, both devices were working fine!
I hope that somebody can help me solve this problem.Do the apps show as installed on the Purchased tab in the App Store app ? If they show as installed, then have you got any restrictions set on Settings > General > Restrictions (e.g. Allowed Content > Apps) that might be hiding them ?
You could try closing the App Store app completely and then seeing if it downloads after you re-open it : from the home screen (i.e.not with the App Store app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the App Store app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
You could also try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
And try logging out, and then back in, with your iTunes account : Settings > Store -
No access to wifi on iMac though have access on IPad and iPhone
I have a Mac operating on OS X version 10.9.2 - it access internet via wifi (Beikin) in the office smoothly but cannot do so when I brought it home. Its alert : no internet connection. My ipad and iPhone though has no problem accessing via tplink router.
I have tried restarting both the imac and the router - but no effect.
Can anyone help to advice what should I do next ?Have you clicked on the home network name in the wi-fi list in the menu and signed in to it?
How was your office wi-fi configured? If it was done other than the usual connect automatically through DCHP or other special configs, then you may need to add another wi-fi connection in your network settings for your home wi-fi connection.
