IMac screen response time?

I plan to do some gaming on the iMac. What is the screen's response time?

would depend on the model really
IPS panel typically have a better looking image then TN panels
but at least on paper TN panels always have a lower response time

Response time: 12 ms
http://www.apple.com/displays/specs.html
to get the max worst case fps with 12ms you to a 1/12ms == 83.33Fps
but if the lcd panel has a refreshrate of 60Hz that will set the max fps unless you disable v-sync
in which case you're inviting tearing to happen which is bad mmkey
all those things being said I game on my imac 21" 2011 model mostly in windows8.1 and skyrim and batman A city and the likes and it runs great

  • ERP screen response time

One of our clients is accessing his ERP system through a satellite WAN. Could somebody please let me know the ideal respose time for an ERP screen accessed by a satellite at a bandwidth of 512 kbps for one user?

I don't think it has specific value for the response time, but it is slow definitely.
SAP Note 161053 has topic on SAPGui performance in WAN
Probably you need to get performance trace to get the average speed.

  • Best way to clean imac screen...

    Hi...
wondering the best way to clean the imac screen - first time i have had a lcd screen
    thanks

    Nick,
The user guide recommends that one dampen a lint free cloth with water and use it to clean the screen. There are a few commercial products that work well, including Monster iClean and iKlear. Be sure to avoid any product with alcohol or ammonia. Also, whether you use water or a cleaning product, spray the cloth, not the screen directly.

  • After IOS 8 update, the screen is jerky and the response time is really, really slow... Using a PC to submit this!

Is there a solution to a jerky screen and a slow response time after updating to IOS 8?

    Try some basic troubleshooting:
    (A) Try reset iPad
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
    (B) Try reset all settings
    Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings
    (C) Setup as new (data will be lost)
    Settings>General>Reset>Erase all content and settings

  • MBP 17" HD Screen - Low Response time

    Hello,
I found that my mbp with 17" 1920x1200 screen have a very slow response time of its Screen. It is very obviously when viewing photo slide show, from dark color to bright color, even watching any motion video, look like a horizontal line will appear on anywhere of the screen. But it is totally problem when viewing on an external monitor with same resolution. Do any HDmbp owner have such problem ?
    thanks.

Is there anyone has the same problem with me ? I want to figure out is that problem only happen on my mbp or everyone have. I will try to take it to repair if I am not the lucky one. But you know....repairing servies is nightmare in my country. Thanks.

  • Firefox is causing my imac screen to go blank (crash) and I have to restart. Most of the time its random, but recently it did it everytime I finished listening to an audio file online. Is there a solution for this?

Firefox is causing my imac screen to go blank & I have to restart. It's been happening randomly for weeks now. I haven't been able to tie an action that causes it. Firefox is open while I work in other adobe software. Recently it has done it every time the audio file finished that I'm listening to online and that makes me think it's tied to Firefox. Is there something I can do to fix this? For now, I am going to quit firefox while I work and see if that doesn't improve my situation for now.

Does it still happen if you disable all plugins?
Did it start happening after a Firefox update or a plugin update?

It just means some spammer is using your email address as the sender address for their spam. This is very easy to do - anyone can do it simply by changing the From email address in their email program. It does not mean your account was hacked or you have a virus (there are no current Mac viruses on the loose anyway, nor has there been for years).
There's nothing you can do about it. It can happen to anyone and the spammers will move on to using someone else's email address before long.

  • Response time of the new 24-inch iMac Core 2 Duo 3.06GHz display??

Apple is not famous for documenting the response time of it's diplays, An exception is the new Apple LED Cinema Display (24" flat panel) which they list as 14ms.
Does anybody know the response time of the new 24-inch iMac Core 2 Duo 3.06GHz display??

Very nice, I've always wanted a bigger iMac and
wondered why they didn't make one. I'm on a G5
20inch now and it works 100% perfectly. BUt the 24
    incher is very compelling!
Myself, never felt the need for a bigger one, the 20-inch is perfect for what I want it to do. Perhaps in the future...
It's pretty obvious why a 24-inch was not offered sooner, as the retail price would have been too expensive to create enough demand to justify production.

  • IMac screen is frozen even after re-starting several times.

My iMac screen is frozen. I have used the alt-command-esc and can get the Force Quite box to come up but the box buttons are unresponsive. I have also alt-command and powered off and shift-key powered off (while holding for several seconds). When I turn the computer back on, it will boot up and begin with it's usual pop-up screens (APC PowerChute & Adobe Updater) which are currently unresponsive and just stay on the screen. I can run my mouse over the deck eyecons and it still tells the names of each, but nothing happens when I click on any of them. Same thing with any desktop eyecons and toolbars. Any suggestions on how to unfreeze the screen when I can't seem to be able to do anything?
    Many Thanks!

I'm sorry to hear about the issues your iPhone is experiencing after getting the screen replaced.  I'd like you to follow the troubleshooting below to try and help resolve the issue:
    Display shows a white screen
Try turning iPhone off and then on again.
If the iPhone will not turn off, try to reset it.
If that doesn't work, try restoring the device.

  • Tech Specs for 24" Imac Screen/Comparison

Does anyone have the actual tech specs for the screen itself in reference to the 24" Imac (response time, etc.)
How do you think the screen on the 24" Imac compares to this HP 24" monitor?:

The 24" ALU iMac's display panel is an *LG.Philips LM240WU2-SLB1*.
According to TFTcentral, it's an 8-bit S-IPS panel. For more specs see:
    http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/articles/panel_parts.htm
Great specs, but the specs don't say anything about iMac's problems with
uneven backlighting. The white 24" used the LG.Philips LM240WU2-SLA1,
and had a gorgeous display -- as does NEC's professional LCD2490WUXi.
Check the specs, but also check some [24'' ALU iMac screen photos.|http://picasaweb.google.com/TheLooby]

I don't have a mfgr's part number, but it uses a 6-bit TN panel. Faster
than S-IPS, but significantly poorer viewing angles. OTOH, it probably
doesn't have the brightness gradent problems common in ALU iMacs.
    For $75 more, HP's LP2465 and Dell's 2407 have superior 8-bit LCD panels,
    and much better warranties (3-year & 5-year versus 1-year on the w2408).
I'm sure there are many other good (or better) choices as well, but I haven't
    been monitor-shopping lately.
