Image and Jquery issues - help needed

Let me begin by saying that I have used both of these successfully with pages on my test server and in production.  That said, for whatever reason Dreamweaver is not displaying images called-out in my CSS in either Live View or in browser preview even though they are visible in Design View.  I also can't get jquery slide shows to function in browser preview either - and again the images show up in Design View.  Does this have to do with the fact that I am building this site on my hard-drive and not on a test server?  Has anyone experienced this and then moved their root to a test or production server and had them magically work?

  • Ipod Touch: My Issues, help needed as fast as possible

    Well recently i got an Ipod Touch 2nd Generation for christmas, and i must say i love it. But i have got some serious problems. 1) all applications that were not standard on the itouch crash unexpectedly and the only way to rectify this issue is to download something from the app store and they work again :S. Yes that is as bizarre as it sounds. Sometimes it will work fine and i can use any of my apps whenever i like. But frequently(more frequently as time goes on) the applications dont open, i touch them they open the background for the app and they take me back to the main screen. I have tried the following: reseting the iPod, restoring it to factory settings, uninstalling apps and then re-installing and this issue is resolute. I also happen to know that some other 2nd Generation Touch owners at my school have the very same issue. I have seen some threads dotted about explaining their issues that are similar to this, meaning its fairly widespread.
    My second issue is really bugging me, i opened the itunes store for the first time on my iPod(i never get any of my music from itunes normally i detest the application.) and all of a sudden it downloaded a podcast without me telling it to. It was called Podhead: The DoorWhores Off to vegas. This is something i really do not wish to have on my iPod. So i synced it to my windows OS and tried to re-sync the iPod's podcasts with my library so that it would dissappear. But it didn't, i then tried setting it to manually putting files on my ipod and alas it doesnt show up in the podcasts sub section of the device. I tried playing the podcast and it takes me to the home screen of my ipod with the Play triangle flickering constantly in the top right of my ipod. I don't know what is going on with that but i havnt restored it to factory settings after this issue, mainly because my iPod refuses to accept that i own all of the apps i have backed up and i have no desire to manually re-download them to my ipod.
    3) That last scentence brings me nicely onto my final problem which is this: my computer tells me that i do not have the authority to put onto my ipod. Despite all of them being free and despite all of them having being backed up from my ipod.
    Any help with these issues would be much appreciated. I am in desperate need of assistance before i come to the end of my tether and resign myself to a long trip to the nearest apple store. thanks in advance

    Did you try to restore your iPod to factory settings and add your apps one by one to find out which app causes the crash? Try not to restore from a backup it may contain the corrupt parts you don't want to install again.

  • How do I add video in my Photoshop images and graphics? I need it to play in Adobe Acrobat when I'm done.

    I designed an electronic press kit and I need the video to play on it. I'm getting the video link from YouTube so I was wondering how to make that happen. I already tried putting the YouTube link behind the video layer so it can be clickable in Acrobat, but when I sent it to the online magazine forum there was a lot of lines in it. I saw this YouTube video on how to do it but it requires ImageReady TUTORIAL-Add video to your Photoshop images and graphics! - YouTube. I don't have the Photoshop to ImageReady button in my PS....HELP! How do I get this done?!?!?

    That tutorial is extremely old. ImageReady was last used in CS2. In other words that program no longer exists.
    Luckily video made its way into photoshop so you can easily import your video into photoshop.
    Instead of an animation panel, it is now called the timeline panel. When the panel first opens it will ask you if you want an animation or a movie. Choosing movie will reduce the number of layers required down to just 2, one for the movie and one for the TV image. Since this is a timeline, you can split the timeline to remove any portion of the video you do not want or need to add an effect to that area of the timeline. Each time you split the video, it will move it to a new layer for you.
    You can still export as an animated gif by using the File>Save As dialog box. or You can export as a movie and choose another video format. Which format and codec you can choose will depend on how many other video apps of Adobe's you also have installed.

    Without going through it in detail the problem may be that you're doing the repaint which you hope will draw the image before the image has completed loading.
    Create your ImageIcon (loading the "xxxx.jpeg" files) during program initialisation. And check the load status of the icon, at least in a test version.

    I still cant get the reqd output. Only the 1st image is dispayed and when i click the second code, the 2nd image doesnt come(the first one does not disappear, and even when i click the code 1 i have to minimize/ maximize the screen, to get the image and after that it does not go for the s2nd image 2 come!! )

    so we have 3 domain controllers, lets say dc1,dc2 and dc3. We have the 3rd line assistance from another company, they have advised the following.... 
    SO the stages will be
    1) Can you please go through all the GPO's in DC3 and consolidate what you need and what you do not need, you need to extensively cross reference this with DC1 and DC2, this is something you have to do. As I will not know what you need and what you do
    not. You can do this by logging into each domain controller and opening up the settings of each GPO and cross referencing.
    2) Once the above is done, we will consolidate the GPO's to a central repository in your domain
    3) Backup Sysvol directory and Netlogon folder in DC3
    3) Proceed to dcpromo DC3 out of the domain
    4) Test connectivity if clients to the AD
    5) Add the additional Server options
    6) All of the above can be done during office hours.
    it was my understanding (perhaps wrongly) that the group policies were not on the individual Domain Controllers but in Sysvol and as such replicated anyway?
    any advice would be very much appreciated.

    I agree. Talking of a "central repository" fro group policy doesn't make
    sense, because group policy from the very beginning lives in AD and
    sysvol, which both are kind of "central repository". Seems they don't
    really know what they're talking about :)

  • Saving images and catalogue issues.

    I have been using LR for a few months now and have watched countless tutorials (a lot of Adobe.tv) I am having major issues with staying on top of my numbering and filing system and really need some tips. I try and explain.
    When I first open the import box I have a look through and uncheck all the photos I have decided are no good and import the rest, I use the convert to DNG route. I also shoot in both JPEG and RAW, but I don't import the JPEGs, I use them for reference, I add generic keywords and rename with the date (I've still not decided on a naming convention yet)
    I then use the compare function and delete some photos that were otherwise identical, then I work through the photos and edit them. The trouble I have generally begins here. I am happy with the export box and choose my settings, but if I decide to edit any in photoshop I do it through LR and save it as a PSD. So now I have both the PSD and the DNG. If I try and rename them the numbering systemn goes to pot because there's a PSD in there. I also find occasionally that it renames each JPEG and associated DNG file seperately so 40 photos becomes 80
    Then I export my images only to discover the colour is over saturated so I need to re-edit/ import and then this adds to the confusion as I can't replace the current image as I need to figure out what the hell I need to correct!
    In short, I seem to be getting in quite a pickle! I'm not sure I've explained it very well. All I want to do is rename, edit,  export to show off to family and friends, without taking four hours to do eight photos

  • Responsive menu issue help needed

    When I test the menu for the smallest screen width, the menu is converting to the menu button like it's supposed to, but when you click on it, it does nothing. I'm sure this is a super basic thing I keep overlooking, but I can't seem to find the issue.  Any thoughts?

    No problem. We will figure this out. I am going to have you revert back to the way it was on a couple of things. Since this is foundation, I will study their docs a little and get this the way it is supposed to be. It has to be something simple.
    Starting with the scripts.js file. revert back to the following.
    Line 88 - $menuBtn = $('#menu-toggle'),
    Line 89 - $navUl = $("#window"),
    Line 107 - $navUl.toggle();
    Foundation.css
    On Line 1148 uncomment "overflow:hidden;"
    On Line 1244 revertback to  display:block instead of display:none;
    I also want you to place your script files in the footer in this order. Also leave modernizer at the top in the header.

  • DVR/STB/Remote issues - Help Needed

    New to Verizon FIOS (Installed about 2 weeks ago).  Have a few issues. Any help is appreciated
    1) When im on the Home Media DVR and i fast forward through a program, when i stop or hit play, an extremely loud beep that lasts for 1-3 seconds comes from the speakers.  How do i get this to stop, what is causing it, etc?
    2) When i fast forward from one of the STB (regular HD box), if i hit FF once, it fast forwards pretty slow, if i hit it again, it goes somewhat faster.  The problem is.  When i hit it that 2nd time, it seems that 70-80% of the time, it jumps me back to an early portion of the program.  I.E.  Was watching the 2 hour episode of "24", was one hour and 20 min in, got to commercials, i hit FF twice and it jumped me back to 23 minutes in.  Tried again at next commercial break and it jumped me back to 11 minutes in.  What is the deal here?  How do i fix it?
    3) Are there only 2 fast forward speeds on STB?  I came from Brighthouse that had 4 speeds, im a little disappointed with only 2 speeds.  Can anyone verify?
    4) The remotes seem to take 2 seconds or so to register when performing any function other than changing channels.  When i hit FF or REW, DVR or Last, it seems to take a few seconds to kick in.  Is this a known issue, or possibly my box or remotes?

    Sorry the ff speeds are the same. On the main MR-DVR there are 3 ff speeds, where the remote STB has 2 ff speeds. I think they did that because how the remote system works, it has slower responses being remote. But with the update you will not need to worry about the ff, because you will not get the hub error. I was one of the first people to get the update and I have not seen the hub error yet.
    As far as a time frame I don't believe there is any thing public about it, I think the only thing they have said is it is going to be rolled out per market, and one market a week. But nothing on the order of the markets.

    Sorry, it's not clear what you want.
    Whenever you have a problem, please post a little sample data (CREATE TABLE and INSERT statements, relevant columns only) from all tables involved, so that the people who want to help you can re-create the problem and test their ideas.
    Also post the results you want from that data, and an explanation of how you get those results from that data, with specific examples.
    Simplify the problem as much as possible. For example, if you really need to GROUP BY 28 columns, post a problem where you need to GROUP BY only 2 or 3 columns.  (Just explain that you really have 28, so people will give solutions that are sure to work for all 28).)
    Always say which version of Oracle you're using (for example, 11.2.0.2.0).

  • Placing Images and PPI issues

    Hello, I am new to InDesign.. I am a digital artist who has only used PS in the past, so I'm used to manipulating images however I like concerning PPI, DPI, and pixels. I am now creating an app for ipad use and created the background images for the pages in PS. Now, I'm placing them into ID. When I do that, no matter what I have the file saved as, it converts the image to a different ppi.
    When I created the images in PS, I used the standard ipad resolution (262px) and dimensions. When I created the ID file, I used the standard ipad dimensions and the ppi is obviously much lower, at 72?
    Is there a way to set the ID resolution, or do I need to create my documents with only 72ppi? This doesn't seem like it would give the best image viewing available on the ipad.

    InDesign respects the original size and resolution of images, as long as you keep them at 100% of the original size. When they are at 100%, the "Actual ppi" and "Effective ppi" fields of the Info panel display the same value. In your specific case, the Info panel needs to show "262" in both fields. If not, it means that the respective image is scaled. To verify its scale, click the image using the Direct Selection Tool (the "white arrow" one) and look at the percentage fields in the Control Panel. (By the way, the resolution of the retina iPads is 264 ppi, not 262.)
    When importing an image, the easiest way to assure that it will be placed at 100% is simply clicking the loaded cursor instead of dragging it. Give it a try.
    But bear in mind that this "ppi" issue only matters for print publications. For tablet apps, what is important is the number of pixels; the resolution is irrelevant. For retina iPads, you need to use twice the size you use in a standard screen iPad. So, if you want a full-page image in an old iPad, the image dimensions must be 1024 by 768 pixels. If you want the same image in full screen on a retina iPad, create it with 2048 by 1536 pixels.   • New t410 image and repair discs help

    First i want to say thanks to everyone for being so helpful.  i've a had a few other questions that you guys have helped me on. 
    i just got my t410 and i am about to make some repair and/or recovery discs.  First of all, when i choose "create system image" from control panel, I get 3 drives to backup:  System_drv, Window 7 os (C, and Lenovo Recovery (Q.  by default, lenovo recovery is NOT selected, should I select it to back that up as well?  What effect will it have on the repair discs that I am going to create afterwards?  And will it effect me reimaging onto a SSD?
    PS. I know some of you guys are on notebookreview, where also posted something similar.  if you've already read this bear with me.

    Yes. If you battery lasts more than half its advertised life, it is within what Apple considers to be acceptable performance and they may refuse service. Also, if your iPod shows signs of excessive physical damage, Apple may refuse service.
    If you're really only getting two hours, I would definately send it in.

  • Major issue, help needed

    Hi there,
    Okay, I've got a problem, well a few of them actually, and I really needed to get some advice from others. So, I'm doing an HNC in Interactive Media at the moment in college. My class isn't exactly the best place to study, as its quite loud, but yet it's the only room (available on certain days at certain times) that I can use to get my work done because it has all the Adobe software I need.
    My problem is that the version of the software is only at CS4, which the exception of Photoshop CS6 Extended added in their too. Now, I have no clue as to why the software hasn't been updated and it's not causing me a bit of worry. I desperately want to my work outside of class, to work away from the noise where there is no distraction and so on. So, I had taken out a Student Loan to buy myself a MacBook Pro and I was dead-set on buying myself CS6. However, I quickly realized that CS6 wouldn't be backwards compatable with older versions, i.e. CS4, right?
    So I asked my lecturer, she advised me to buy the Adobe CS4 software package, which I was fine with. I had spent the last few days trying to find a Mac version, with the student discount (Like I could afford the full retail as a student), but I couldn't find one trace of it. I was always redirected to some fishy website that was able to crack it for me, which I didn't want - obviously.
    My problem is that I've seen on the community discussion that Adobe doesn't sell CS4 anymore - already I'm panicking - because I don't know what to do. I can only see the option of: buying CS6 and basically not being able to use it because my lecturers wouldn't be able to open any of those files.
    Please, I really need some help here. If you have any advice or knowledge on where I could possibly buy CS4 (if that is even possible) or maybe a method of saving CS6 files as CS4 files?

    And what program are we actually talking about? PS files are always compatible when saved with the "Maximum Compatibility" option, Illustrator allows back-saving to older formats and InDesign can save to CS4-compatible IDML (an exchange format). For other apps it's not really relevant - HTML is HTML and which version of Dreamweaver you use to edit it doesn't matter. Conversely, pretty much all universally accepted media formats for audio, video and images can be opened in most versions as can PDFs. That leaves only the video applications and Flash, but I can't imagine your teacher looking at your Premiere Pro project file when all you have to deliver is an edited movie nor do I think it would be particularly relevant how you created a Flash or After Effects file. All that aside, things are as they are - unless you can find someone trustworthy willing to part with his used CS4, there is no legal way to get it. It's a moot point, though, 'cos no matter what, it won't work properly on your shiny new Mac and may not even install, so you are in a very dark place, either way....

    Group filter:
    searchfilter=(|(objectclass=group)(objectclass=organizationalunit)(!(objectclass=user)(!(objectclass=computer))))
    User filter:
    searchfilter=(|(objectclass=user)(objectclass=organizationalunit)(!(objectclass=group)(!(objectclass=computer))))
    in both searchfilters you do search for the organizationalunit with a logical OR. as both users and groups can have this attribute they migth end up there.
    I have to confess that I have struggled lately with the searchfilters as I am now on a AD-OID sync project.

  • MAC OS-X Lion and Error 51 - Help Needed ASAP Please

    Greetings,
    I have been using the Cisco VPN Client (4.9.01) for Mac under Snow Leopard (10.6.x) without any issues.
    Since upgrading to Lion earlier today I am now receiving an Error 51 - unable to communicate with the subsystem.
    I found a thread that suggested restarting the system while holding down Opt/3/2 keys to force a 32-Bit restart and the Client will indeed run. However, this is a bandaid patch.
    Has Cisco addressed this issue? Is there a better workaround at this time?

    Hello Robert,
    In Windows 7 you would need to use the Cisco IPsec client which operates the same way as it does in XP with regards to the pcf.  So I am not sure why you are having trouble with Win7, if you are still having trouble with Win7 using the Cisco IPsec client please start a new thread for that specific issue as it is separate and distinct from Mac OS X and using the Mac OS X built in client.

    I have not heard of an issue with the Mac OS X Built-in client when properly configured and when the head-end has the security levels necessary.
