Image automatically refreshed on update- RIDICULOUS ADOBE

In LR 1.4 in the develop module images would not automatically refresh as they came in when tethered. While in Gallery mode they would. Now in version 2.0 and 2.1 the images are automatically refreshed at a fast pace, this is useless how can a digital operator you check focus and exposure while you are shooting. Why not have it the way it was in 1.4 and have the both options dependent on what module you are in.
Does anyone have a workaround for this??
This is the only thing preventing me from updating to 2....and I wish I could because those profiles look great.

This change was made based on feedback from users who wanted to see the images immediately as they came in.
Workarounds for the current behavior are that it wont advance if one of the following is true:
- The newly taken photo is not in the contents of the grid (they could take the photo they want to work on, add it to the quick collection, and switch to that, for example).
- There is a selection of more than one photo (shift-select a second photo, then the auto-advance wont happen until the selection size drops back to 1 or 0).

Not without help. WebView is just a brower. You would need to poll or use an asynchronous notification mechanism.

Excel Services 2013 Bug - Automatic or Periodic Data Refreshes Doesnt Update

I have heard from other colleagues that there is a problem with SP2013 Excel Services Automatic Refresh. Specifically, when you set the data connection properties to
Refresh data when opening a file, no error is generated upon open, but it DOES NOT refresh the spreadsheet with new data.
Manual Refresh First. What I did to test this was configure an AS tabular model with AdventureWorksDW as the data source. Loaded the AdventureWorks Tabular project. Created an ODC pointing to the resulting cube instance.
(Made all of the required Excel Services configurations.) Then pointed a workbook to this data source to populate a Pivot Table. Saved it to SharePoint in a trusted location. ODC saved to SharePoint in a trusted data connection library. Finally,
I configured the connection properties to NOT Refresh data when opening the file. Saved it. Go to my in browser Excel Services file, and click
Data | Refresh All Connections. WORKS! Great.
Next up: Automatic Data Refresh. I made a copy of the same workbook. Connected to the same data connection file. Went into the properties of the connection on the copied workbook and checked
Refresh data when opening the file. Saved. Updated relational data in database. Reprocessed the tabular model. Re-opened the Automatic refresh workbook. Numbers stay the same.
I've tried also setting Refresh every setting on
Usage tab of Connection Properties dialog to low number. No change. Tried reducing the Excel Services External Data Cache Lifetime auto refresh setting to 10 seconds. Nothing, no change. Nothing seems to work to get Auto refresh
working. Manual refresh works great. Has anyone else seen this bug? Is there a hot fix? Anyone know if there is something else to try?
UPDATE: In the ULS log, what we see if the following line:
BaseWorkbook.PrepareConnectionsAsync: Refresh skipped. Could not find the data connection name - defaulting to previous state. sessionId=..., dataconnection=
Note: the dataconnection value at the end is empty.

Will automatic update select 'Adobe Reader X' after support ends for 'Adobe Reader 9.5.5' on 6/23?

After the recent update for ‘Adobe Reader 9.5.5’ the end of support for this version is June 23, 2013. This is installed on an edition of ‘Windows Vista Home Premium Service Pack 2’. System type: 32-bit Operating System.

Finder crashes if I attempt to read any image updated by Adobe Lightroom

Install seemed to go flawlessly except that I can no longer preview, see an icon or open in any way in Preview, any image that has been updated (the metadata) in Adobe Lightroom. I'm running Adobe Lightroom 1.2 and all image still open fine in it, or Photoshop, or Firefox, even Quicktime player.
If I have any new image, it is fine in Finder/Preview, as soon as I have updated the metadata in Lightroom, it will crash the finder. I can reproduce it 100% of the time.
any ideas? It would be great if I could browse my photos in Leopard. grrr.

yes, I was getting that as well.
For now I've found a solution, of sorts. I backed up all my Lightroom catalog etc and all my images.
Then I downloaded Graphic Converter from Lemkesoft and installed it. I used GC to strip the metadata, just the XMP data, from the image files. Then in lightroom I turned off "write develop settings to XMP for JPEG.." in the catalog settings.
When installing GC, I installed the contextual menu options, then I could just right click on a folder, and it would strip all the subfolders etc as well. It creates a copy of the folder structure named "converted files" which I then used to replace the previous structure. Lightroom did not notice or complain.
For now it seems to have worked. Leopard is working fine and Lightroom doesn't seem to have lost anything, at least anything that I was making use of. I don't know if I have broken anything else in the process.
Does anyone have any other kind of solution? It seems the finder/preview/Safari and Aperture are the only things effected. pre-fix images were fine in all other programs (firefox, quicktime, photoshop, lightroom)

Any particular reason for those specific technologies? wget does not exist on a mac, although you can nstall it I guess. OS X has curl installed which should do pretty much anything you want to do with wget. cron is being replaced by launchd, although cron still exists on mountain lion.
As far as I can tell from automator all the standard 'actions' to access keynote available to it require keynote to be open and running, but does not provide a function to actually open it. So I think you will have to write some applescript, as a minimum to open and quit keynote. I notice that the keynote actions are mostly circa 2005 an wonder if they would even work.
Under utilities in automator 'actions' there is a capability to add applescripts as part of the workflow.
Also, note that cron is being dprecated by Apple and replaced by launchd. that said cron is stil on my mountain lion instalation.

I think figured out what is going on here... If you have set your Windows OS time manually, Apple iTunes will not honor the time you set in Windows XP...
In my case, I had not applied the Windows update that changes the Daylight savings rules. No big deal I thought... I can easily correct the time manually. Well... iTunes will not like it if you do that. You have to have your daylight savings rules set correctly on the PC. Microsoft has a free program called TZEdit that will let you adjust the DST boundaries.
Once I set the rules correctly and then set my time keeping back to "Automatic" it fixed it. Hope this helps...

Automatic Soundcloud updates to Adobe Muse website

Hi! My client uploads 3 or 4 different weekly podcasts to Soundcloud and iTunes. I've just designed an Adobe Muse website for his business.
I'd like him to be able to update the Adobe Muse website automatically, ie, when he adds a podcast episode to Soundcloud, I'd like it to automatically upload to the Shows section of his website.
How do I do this? Is there a script or widget out there?

Automatic Refresh not happening on BAM Report in Active Viewer

I am on SOA 11.1.1.4 and is connecting to an External Datasource (Oracle Database) to create Data objects. But when i am creating a report on it, I am not able to see the report in Active viewer getting refreshed automatically instead I have to Reprompt for the changes. I want the reports to automatically refresh after an interval, any help will be highly appreciated.

Is your popup blocker turned off? I can only imaging that the popup blocker may be keeping the Live Data window from appearing and updating the dashboard. Active Studio doesn't do a Live update, but an update on report load.

How to schedule macros to open a report , refresh and update database?

We have the below set of steps that work on a deski environment. It works fine on XI R3.1 Fix pack 1.5, but I am unable to schedule and get the macros to run although i've included the entire macros code in - Private Sub DocumentAfterRefresh()
Refresh of report
Step 1 : Report is Refreshed. Refreshed data contains 10 Report Names to be opened by the Macros and the prompt values that these reports need to be refreshed with.
Macros Functionality:
Step 1 : Opens 1st report of the 10 reports from the repository in deski thick client, updates the database by setting a flag on the processing to Y or N for the report being processed.
Step 2 : Refreshes the report with the prompt values obtained from the first refresh in the report, saves the refreshed data to a CSV or PDF at a location.
Step 3 : Updates the database if the report has been genrated or not and then deletes the local copy of the output csv and pdf.
The above steps repeat over and over again until all 10 reports open up, get refreshed and update the database.
Now all of this works on Deski thick client/refresh and macros.
However, when i schedule it, the macros doesnot seem to be running.
Is the above scenario even possible to replicate via a schedule process..?
Note : The reports need to be retained in Deski itself.

Assign a job name. Decide on a name for the job you are defining and enter it in the Job Name field.
Set the jobs priority, or "Job Class":
High priority: Class A
Medium priority: Class B
Low priority: Class C
In the Target server field, indicate whether to use system load balancing.
For the system to use system load balancing to automatically select the most efficient application server to use at the moment, leave this field empty.
To use a particular application server to run the job, enter a specific target server.
If spool requests generated by this job are to be sent to someone as email, specify the email address. Choose the Spool list recipient button.
Define when the job is to start by choosing Start Condition and completing the appropriate selections. If the job is to repeat, or be periodic, check the box at the bottom of this screen.
Define the jobs steps by choosing Step, then specify the ABAP program, external command, or external program to be used for each step.
Save the fully defined job to submit it to the background processing system.
When you need to modify, reschedule, or otherwise manipulate a job after you've scheduled it the first time, you'll manage jobs from the Job Overview.
Note: Release the job so that it can run. No job, even those scheduled for immediate processing, can run without first being released.

If I install the update to Adobe Reader 10, will that cause problems with Acrobat Pro 9?

Firefox (version 15.0.1) is telling me I need to install an update to Adobe Acrobat 9.4 in order to view pdf files in my browser. I use Acrobat Pro 9. The update is actually Adobe Reader 10, and I am wondering if I install this, will it cause problems with my version of Acrobat Pro?
Because I am not sure if this is so, I have temporarily disabled the plug-in and now pdf files download automatically rather than display in my browser. I would prefer they open in my browser but do not want to upgrade to Acrobat X.
My OS is Windows Vista. I did not include the "troubleshooting information" file because I'm not sure what specific info is being requested.

Automatic refresh of photo order when changing photo titles in iPhoto 9.6

I've just moved from an older version of iPhoto to 9.6.
In the previous version, when you changed the title of a photo (within an event), the sort order of the photos was automatically and immediately updated. In 9.6 it isn't - I have to do View - Sort Photos then select another sort criteria (e.g. date), then do this again for title, to get the photo order to refresh.
Does anyone know if I am I stuck with this new (retrograde) behaviour, or if there's a way to get iPhoto 9.6 to automatically refresh the photo order?
Otherwise, is there a keyboard shortcut for refreshing the photo order, or for changing the view - sort photos criteria?

It will resort if you leave the Event (click All Events button) and then go back. Not a good solution but quicker IMO than using the View ➙ Sort menu method.

are immediately visible to automatically refreshed
child workspaces. However the answer to the FAQ
question "When sharing changes made in a child
workspace with another child workspace, should I
use periodic (manual) or continually (automatic)
refresh?", states that this type of change must
be refreshed manually.
What is the expected behaviour afterall?

For continually refreshed workspaces, changes made in the LIVE workspace will be immediately visible.
For non-continually refreshed (NCR) workspaces, the changes are not immediately visible - to see the changes, NCR workspaces have to be manually refreshed.

I have backed up the picture folders... some of the folders by date...
I just copy-pasted the latest picture folders.... and then deleted some other old folders on my PowerBook's HDD...
so now i still see the pictures of the folders i deleted...
how do i reset or refresh or update the iPhoto's main library? so that i can only see the pics i keep on my PowerBook's HDD?
which file should i delete?
the .plist?
the library.xxxxx file?
which one?
I would not like to have a 'situation'....
even though i have all the folders backed up on my external HDD... i just dont want to waste time re-arranging my folders...

I am not sure if I am understanding exactly what folders you are talking about so I shall start from the beginning.
-To back up just images from the iPhoto Library, share/export the images to a folder or folders on the desktop or external.
-If you no longer want these backed up images in the library you have to delete them from the library while iPhoto is open.
-to backup the entire iPhoto Library, copy the ENTIRE Library folder to the external.
-The file with the album info (i think) is iPhoto.db
