Image in Page Header set to Underlay Following Section overwrite IBoxObect

Hi There
Using Crystal Reports as shipped with VS2008.
In the Report Header Section I have an image. I've checked the 'Underlay following Sections' so it appears as a watermark (Back ground) image.
All is fine except that it overwrites my borders on ILineObjects and IBoxObjects specified in the Details Section. Data still comes out fine.
The issue can be reproduced very easily.
1. Create a new report
2. In the Report Header Section add an image
3. check the 'Underlay following Sections' for the Report Header Section
4. In the Details section hook to a datasource and add a field
5. Draw a box around the field
6. Run the report and the data will appear but the box will be overwritten by the image

Repeat Group Header On Each Page with Underlay Following Sections

How to overcome the following problem?
1. I am using Crystal report 13.0.5.891
2. I have designed the report with Group Header as [Underlay following section]
3. I have checked the group to repeat on each page
4. Number of lines in the group header may vary
5. Number of lines in details may also vary
My objective is to print the separator line placed in group footer, after the
header lines or after the detail lines which one is taking the maximum lines.
This is not happening, and I am getting the following output, which is not meeting my requirement
Where the "LINE IN GROUP FOOTER" should appear after "Group 1 Header Line 6" in the second page
as the report ends there, but in the output, the line is coming just after the end of detail record.

As a result of this, the next record of the group is overlapping with the first record and creating a mesh

I have updated the crystal report to 13.0.13.1597.
Still I am getting the same issue. I am generating the report in PortableDocFormat and exporting the byte array to download from the web browser. The application is developed in ASP.NET 2012 .net version 4.5.
I am also uploading 2 images of the final pdf that I am getting, for your opinion.
The report appeared in the first image is ok, where the first group has 2 child records and the second group has 1 child, but whenever I am changing the mapping in the database, where the first group has 1 child and second group has 2 child, my report is not working. as it is clear from the second image
Also after installing the new version of CR, my existing codes are not working, and giving the following exception in the line where ExportToStream is written.
Unable to cast object of type 'FileStreamDeleteOnClose' to type 'System.IO.MemoryStream'.
I have modified the existing code to overcome this exception.

Page Header will not underlay page footer

Hi,
Using CR12, when I mark my page header to underlay following sections, it will not underay the page footer. In fact, if the sections overlap it tells me that the page header + the page footer are too big for the page. Is the a bug or a feature? What's the work around?

Hi John,
When you use the Underlay option, the section can underlay multiple sections with enough space to display the data. But a section cannot underlay its sister sections
A Page Header section can underlay all sections up to, but not including, the Page Footer.

"Underlay following sections" push the other setions down to next page

I have a report with a few sub reports in it. I put the logest subreport on the left and use underlay following sections for the setion. It works perfect if the report only one page long. However the subreports on the next setion was push down to next page once the logest subreport surpass one page. Is there a way to keep the other sections in the first page?

How include an extra image in page header section.

Hi,
I need to include a new image in the blue header section of the page. There is already one corporate branding image in that header. The requirement is to include one more image in the middle of the header section.
Any thoughts please?

Though I already tested this approach. The problem with this option was that its multi linugual and the two languages are English and Arabic and both are written in opposite direction...but image remains one directional..

In other thread (https://forums.oracle.com/message/11258546#11258546)I could bring two images in header by adding an image child and setting its css properties in controller. However, I want this controller to be available on all the pages so that it can bring the image on all the pages.Thats why I thought to attach the controller to the footer region. But I think new item inclusion using personalization is not working in standard footer.

Images in Pages header after Mavericks update

Previously to the OS X Mavericks update, I had my documents in Pages with images in headers. Now I open them, after the Mavericks update, AND THEY'RE ALL GONE...!!!
HOW CAN I FIX IT...???

Take an image and put it on the canvas as floating object. Look for a nice place where it can rest. Go to format/advanced and select "transfer image to chapter-template" (don´t know the english term") Now this image appears on every page of the chapter. To alter the objet got to the format/advanced menu and select "make backround objects selectable". This feature was in iWork 09 too.

Interesting reasoning.
In the previous version of Pages you could choose which method to do your work. Both worked.
In Pages 5 one method has been completely removed and the other made more difficult, and that is "altered to a more advanced level".
Apple sprinkling its Fairy Dust on your work and sticking the pages together, again?

I need to include a logo on my PDF reports. I know I can put text on the heading of the report but how do I add a logo or image to the report header?

In the page header section of the Print Setup, can I just reference a loaded work space item. Something like: #WORKSPACE_IMAGES#Shield1inch.JPG
If so, what is the syntax to it. I know I can reference application items like &APEX_USER.

Image in report header appears in front of underlaying section line objects

Hello
I am trying to simulate a company letter header with company logo in page header. I have added line objects in the underlaying sections so the user can see when the detail data/section ends.
I have inserted an image into a report header
I have set the page header to 'Underlay Following Sections'
when I preview the report, line objects in underlying sections appear behind the page header image
when I preview the report, text objects in underlying sections appear in front of the page header image
Has anybody any ideas or better ways of achieving same results please?

text objects are not behaving the same way, as a workaround I have set the top/bottom/left/right border property to single and used these instead of boxes or lines.

Thanks for your patience while this was being investigated. So the way Crystal Report's layout was designed was that items are put in a stack of multiple objects with the ability to move forward and back as needed. For some technical reason lines and boxes were left out of this which means they will always be in the back. Unfortunately we don't know the technical reasons that this was done as it goes back to some of our earliest versions, we are investigating this though.
The difficulty know is trying to find the reason for this, and determining if this can be changes with out breaking backwards compatibility. In the mean time the developer has suggested a work around and are wondering if this would work for you?
1. Insert a text object and enter nothing.
2. Change the size (the height matches the line width) and background (background color matches the line color).
3. Right click on the text object and select Move | To Front. And then the "line" will be on top of the picture.

Making some texbox and image invisible from header in the second page and third page only

i have written this expression for the image
=iif(Globals!PageNumber= 1,false,True)
the problem is, it is repeating in every pages, i want it to be displayed in the page one only, when the rdlc report is generated in the report viewer

According to your description, you added textbox and image to page header, now you want to display them on the first page, on other pages, their visibility is set to false, but the image is visible on every page.
I tried to reproduce the issue in my local machine, but it works fine for me. I set visibility of textbox and image by following steps:
Right-click the image, click Image Properties.
Click Visibility in left pane, select Show or hide based on an expression.
Click (fx) button and type the expression: =iif(Globals!PageNumber= 1,false,True).

How do you set-up a floating image in a header or footer?

I want to place a floating image in the header or footer so it repeats on every page of a section. Somehow this has been achieved in the Project Proposal Template but I can't work out how you set something like this up from scratch. Can you help me?

It is not in the header.
Highlight the floating image and then go Format > Advanced > Move Ojbects to Section Master.

I want to create a Pages template with the logo of our company in the page header.
I'd like to put that image (logo) in the page header so that it will be repeated on every page but it will not modify the content of the page.

Turn off the Page Headers (not absolutely necessary, but since you don't need it, why not)
Put your Graphic on the page and make the following settings:
Then Insert > Text Box and make the same settings as for the graphic.
Place your "Header text" in the text box and arrange the box and graphic as you want them. Move both to Section Master using the Arrange menu.

Create a table, and insert the header.In header properties"imageAlt" and "imageSource" options is there,

Do the following steps:
1. Go to the layout of the view hving the table.
2. Select the table from outline and do right click to add table header.
3. Go through the propertiess of table header and find out imagesource property from the list.
4. specify the name of image in the imagesource property.
5. Now go to navigator and expand the structure of your project.
6. Go to src->mimes->Components...
7. save the image in the same folder.

How do I add images i.e. logos into the header and footer in Pages for the iPad.

I do not beleive Pages for iOS allows insertion of images into the header or footer, just the background of the page body. It can however be placed behind the header. (Tools icon (wrench - upper right of screen) > Document set up
