Image in tooltip

OK, I can beautify my tooltips with HTML, easy: lblMyLabel.setToolTipText("<html><b>Hello!</b>");
I can even make them multiline or place the tooltip contents into a table and modify everything with CSS, but there is still one thing I don't know how to make.
How to get an image into a tooltip?
I have tried with different formats (bmp,gif,jpg), but not with an icon format.
This only produces an image symbol, representing broken link or sth:
lblMyLable.setToolTipText("<html><img src=\"a.gif\">");
Maybe it is in the URL/path that I am making a mistake?

a tooltip that displays any JSP, PHP, CF, ... page specified by URL.
JComponent myComp = new JComponent();
try {
URL url = new URL(
"http://hostname:80/index.html");
BufferedReader in = new BufferedReader(
new InputStreamReader(url.openStream()));
String str;
while ((str = in.readLine()) != null) {
myComp.setToolTipText(myComp.setToolTipText() + str);
in.close();
} catch (MalformedURLException e) {
} catch (IOException e) {

  • Lightroom 5.3 does not show image info tooltips in grid view expanded cells

    In my copy of Lightroom 5.3, image info tooltips do not show in the grid view expanded cells even though that option is activated in view options. Is this an issue with Lightroom 5.3? (Note: Image info tooltips in grid view compact cells and the filmstrip do display, however.)

    I don't think it ever has. I've just checked back through all versions from Lightroom 2, and don't get the same information in Expanded Cell view as I do in Compact Cell view.
    So not a specific issue with LR5.3, more likely either it's "as designed" or one of those very long-standing bugs that haven't been fixed.

    Do you mean you want an image in the tool tip? I do not think
    you can do this. You would have to create your own popup.

  • Image title tooltip (not alt text) doesn't work

    There are half a dozen or so existing help requests mentioning alt text or discussing problems with the Google Toolbar add-on, but this is not my issue, so I am opening a separate help ticket.
    If you are here about "alt" text, first read any of the posts explaining that "alt" text isn't supposed to appear, it's just a quirk of IE that it sometimes does, FF4 is correct and does what the standards ask and what other browsers do. You want "title" text. The best explanation seems to be:

    If you have the Google Toolbar installed, turn it off and see if you get them back. This is a known issue, eg:

    Neither was I. I *did* get them in safe mode, but I did a lot of resetting and mucking about without any luck. In the end, after doing a text diff between safe mode and not, of the Troubleshooting information (in the Help menu), I found that the issue might be Direct2D-related, and changed the flag "gfx.direct2d.disabled" to true in about:config. I now have tooltips back but a less efficient FF4.
    Hope that this helps someone, and hope that the Direct2D issue gets sorted out!

  • Historical Usage Image - * as tooltip problem

    Hello Everyone,
    We have upgraded our system from 4.4 E to 5.1 SP08 Patch Level 1 and observed that Historical Usage image which displays on the main screen after logging in the system is not visible, there is X mark in place of that image. When I move the mouse pointer over it, it displays the tool tip as *.
    There was a problem with the company logo image which I have fixed, but dont know how to fix this OOTB image. Please advise steps to fix it.
    Thanks !
    ******************RESOLVED*******************
    The problem is resolved now.
    It was a problem because the jcschart.jar was not specified in the Application server as a classpath.
    Once I have set the classpath in app server and restarted it, the bar charts are working now.

  • Mistake creating an Image Map

    Hello, I have a problem with my Image Map. Here are my steps:
    1.Create areas for the Image Map
    2.Create the Image Map with areas
    3.upload the image
    4.create the OTH file
    5.Enable rendering information option
    6.Create KM navigation iView and its layout set mode as default
    All references for directories and for my pic are OK but it doesn´t show any Image Map. I need help please!
    Thank you

    Hi,
       You can follow this example:
    In KM, image maps are used for a graphical depiction of folder contents. These objects are displayed using graphics instead of in their normal text form.
    Step 1 – Determine the image you want to use for navigating. This can be any JPG or GIF file. In this example I will reference the file world.gif.
    Step 2 – Configuring an image map. Take your image file world.gif and place it in the system. For our example place the file in the path: …../knowledgemanagement/etc/public/graphics. The subdirectory “graphics” was created within the public folder.
    Step 3 – In the documents folder, create the following folders:
    •  World
         Within the “World” folder, create the subfolders:
         North America
         South America
         Europe
         Asia
    Note: you can create as many folders as you like. This structure will serve as the navigation structure for world.gif image map.
    Step 4 – Determine the navigation coordinates for the image world.gif. Any tool can be used, for this example the tool GeoHTML was used. It is a freeware tool that can be downloaded from http://www.fegi.ru/geohtml.
    •  The following coordinates were determined for the folders:
         North America: 253, 255, 303, 285
         South America: 424, 171, 474,201
         Europe: 368, 43, 418, 73
         Asia: 276, 37, 326, 67
    Step 5 – Create new link-sensitive Areas for the image map. Menu path: Configuration -> Content Management -> User Interface -> Image Maps -> Areas
    Please note, an area would need to be defined for each area on the image map that would be link-sensitive areas.
    Step 6 – Defining an Image Map. In this step the name of the image map will be defined as well as specifying the path of the image, the tooltip, and lastly assigning the areas.
    Step 7 – Configure an Object Type Handling (OTH) file for the image map. OTH files are located in the /oth subdirectory within the /etc repository. Copy an existing OTH file in this subdirectory and copy it to “world.oth”. In This OTH file, define the navigation path, collection renderer, layout controller, action and image map. The OTH file should look as follows:
      <?xml version="1.0"?>
      <ObjectTypeHandler Name="Image Map world"
    Class="com.sapportals.wcm.service.objecttypehandler.GenericObjectTypeHandler">
    <SelectionCriteria>
      <Paths>
        <Path>/documents/World</Path>
      </Paths>
    </SelectionCriteria>
    <Properties>
      <Property Key="rndCollectionRenderer"              Value="ImageMapRenderer"/>
      <Property Key="LayoutController"                   Value="DefaultLayoutController"/>
      <Property Key="rndShowActions"                      Value="false"/>
      <Property Key="rndMap"                      Value="MapOfWorld"/>
    </Properties>
    <Actions/>
    </ObjectTypeHandler>
    Step 8 – Display the image map. For the navigation iView that is being used, ensure that the iView property “Layout Set Mode” is set to default.
    Step 9 – Reload the object type handler in order for the system to read the new oth file world.oth. This can be done by within the Rendering Information link in any navigation iView for a user that is specified in the Debugging Settings (this is done in the user interface configuration).
    Another option to reloading the object type handler would be restarting the J2EE engine.
    Step 10 – In the navigation iView for this mage map, navigate to the image map. In this example, the menu path would be documents/World
    Patricio.
    ps: If you want I can send you complete example.

  • Is it possible to add keywords, title tags, and alt tags to lightbox images and/or triggers?

    I am building a mobile site that is pretty heavily dependant on lighbox displays for the scroll capability. The issue I have run into is that I need to be able to add alt and title tags to the images in the lightbox (slideshow) to maintain the seo of my site. I have only designed a few of the pages thus far, and the issue I am running across is that once an image is considered a "trigger" by muse I can no longer add the seo elements in the same way I can when it's an image.
    A few ways around this I found are:
    1) export the site to Dreamweaver and then I can go in to the code and add the seo for the images in the lighbox on the backend.
    2) I can build the site image by image and then over lay each trigger for the lighbox slideshow.
    The issue with #1 is that once I export my site to dreamweaver it is then no longer editable in muse. I see this presenting a huge problem as I move forward with new iterations of my website. Any changes made in dreamweaver are not transferable to muse and thus creating two seperate sites. That means I would need to recreate any and all seo built in every time I update the site. This is not really an option and is not efficien at all. Is there a way to jump back and forth between these two products that I am unaware of? That would be most helpful.
    The issue with #2: I have built each project page on the site as mostly large background images with triggers over laid. I did this to try and lower the overall gerth of the site, but it is seeming I am not going to be able to get around this and maintain the seo i am looking for.
    Has any one run into this problem and solved it?
    Here is the site thus far:
    ghatest.businesscatalyst.com
    Thank you for your feedback!

    Placed images and slideshow images support tooltips (the "title" attribute) and alt text via the "Edit Image Properties..." content menu.
    Strictly speaking, background images (fill images) in HTML do not support these tags. That said, in some contexts it may make sense for Muse to enable setting these attributes on an arbitrary object (which may, or may not, have a fill image).

  • JComboBox and Tooltips

    Hi,
    I'm creating a project for school in which they want me to populate a JComboBox with a movie list that I created in a text file.
    I was thinking that I want to set a tooltip for each item (movie) and then modify it so that people can see a picture of the movie and a little summary.
    What's the easiest way to do that?
    Or maybe instead of a tooltip I could use different forms? Please, give me some ideas with some code too
    Thanks
    PS: This is the code I'm using to populate the JComboBox.
    private void populateMovies()
    String fileName = "src
    Movies.txt",
    movieList;
    try
    //File Reader
    FileReader content = new FileReader(fileName);
    BufferedReader inputFile = new BufferedReader(content);
    movieList = inputFile.readLine();
    while (movieList !=null)
    movieSelectionJComboBox.addItem(movieList);
    movieList = inputFile.readLine();
    catch(FileNotFoundException exp)
    exp.printStackTrace();
    catch(IOException exp)
    exp.printStackTrace();
    Click to see GUI
    http://i153.photobucket.com/albums/s224/andresmdiaz/AMDGUI.png

    You can set images in tooltips using HTML
    String imageName = "file:image.jpg";
    component.setToolTipText("<html>Here is an image <img src="+imageName+"></html>");
    or for more flexibly but much more complexity, you can make your own tooltip class, here is an example of that:
    http://www.java2s.com/Code/Java/Swing-JFC/ShowinganImageinaToolTip.htm
    btw "image in tooltip java" came up with these results in the top 3. I suggest in the future you have a go, and post your failed attempt, if you fail that is.

  • Issues with Overlapping Symbols

    Hi,
    I've created an interactive guide on how a piece of scientific apparatus works using Edge Animate, but I've ran into a problem and I'm hoping the community might be able to help me.
    What I've Done So Far
    - Created flyout tooltips that animate as users hover over each component of the instrument. This is achieved by using mouse over (play symbol from label) , mouseout (play reverse)
    - Created descriptions of each component that display in a blue box beside the diagram as the parts are clicked on
    Problem
    The descriptions worked fine, but when I created the fly-out tooltips, I started encountering a problem. As I hover over the diagram, the tooltips are sticking in the mouse over state and not always disappearing on mouseout. If I scan the mouse pointer across the image all tooltips show up and remain on. I'm not sure if the problem is caused by the overlapping symbols.
    Does anyone know what could be causing this problem? I'm fairly new to Edge Animate, so I'm sure it will be something quite obvious to a more experienced user.
    Many thanks,
    Ross

    you need to have mouseenter and mouseover with same code, mouseleave and mouseout with the same code to prevent the problem from happening

  • Icon in the JTABBED PANE

    hello...
    How can I put an Icon into the JTABBED PANE?
    So every TAB will have its own Icon?
    I believe JBuilder 4.0 do that.
    Thank you.

  • BitmapImage changes in build 13875

    Hello furry friends
    As my last post was about updating my current SDK from an early build of Flex 4 to the newer milestone one (build 13975) so is this one.
    It appears my BitmapImages within SparkSkins are not showing anymore, the assets I am importing are not dynamic and sitting in a assets folder as .PNG files. has something changed with the use of BitmapImages?
    Here is my class:

    </s:SparkSkin>

    I appear to be talking to myself
    After looking up some of the posts it appears BitmapImage has changed and the you would now need to Embed the image?
    I changed the component from a Spark BitmapImage to a MX Image control:
    <s:Graphic>
              <ns:Image id="icon" x="{ ( this.width / 2 ) - ( icon.width / 2 ) }" y="{ ( this.height / 2 ) - ( icon.height / 2 ) }"
                          includeIn="disabled, disabledAndSelected, down, downAndSelected, over, overAndSelected, up, upAndSelected" />
              <!--
         <s:BitmapImage id="icon"
                           includeIn="disabled, disabledAndSelected, down, downAndSelected, over, overAndSelected, up, upAndSelected" />
              -->
         </s:Graphic>
    Now what worries me about this is I would imagine the Image control is a heaview component than the humble BitmapImage? not so comfortable using this in my appz to be honest.
    Any thoughts very welcome

  • Flex column chat's columnset doesn't scale properly in vertical axis

    Hi All,
    I createda column chart having serieses in column set and this colun set is mapped to a custom vertical axis.
    Issue:- This custom vetical axis only show the default value from 0 to 100 instead of its own min max value.
    The sample code are given below

    Hi DeanLoganBH,
    Thanks for ur answare however my problem is littlebit different. According to u if i set the min and max value manually the axis value units are showing perfectly but the column draw region are not in properly. please have a look to the attached screen shot of the chat and the sample code as well.

    In the above image the tooltip display Smith_Close value is 41.87 however it's pillar vertical axis maped with value nearly  28. and the total value is 71 but it map with below 50 in vertical axis. which seems visually inconsistent.
    Problem:- why the column set is not calculate min and max value automatically and scale the colums appropiatly  in case of custom axisrenderer however it is working fine default axis rendere.
    Again the calculation of min max is little bit complex when my column set is containing more serieses and thereir value is varies in negative and positive side.
    DeanLoganBH, if is there any point is not understandable please let me know..
    Thanks in advance
