Image name pop-up in internet explorer.
robbohelp html 8: webhelp
Hello,
How can I stop the name of the image from being displayed in internet explorer?
I don't want this to happen on every image in my help file
Thanks,
Stephen
Hello again
Okay, I am at a loss to explain exactly *WHY* RoboHelp is populating the tag with the file name, but I am seeing it on my end as well. I've tried generating with nearly every conceivable option enabled and disabled and it seems to insist on populating the tag with the file name. Go figure.
I did seem to have come up with a reasonably simple workaround though.
Use the built in Multi-File Find and replace utility to find all occurrences of alt="" and replace with alt=" ". Note the space between the quotes. It seems that if a space exists in the tag between the quotes that RoboHelp leaves it as is during the generation process.
I would also strongly encourage you to report the behavior as a bug via the bug report. (link to that is in my sig)
Cheers... Rick

If images are missing then check that you aren't blocking images from some domains (e,g, sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net).
*Check the permissions for the domain in the current tab in "Tools > Page Info > Permissions"
*Check that images are enabled: Tools > Options > Content: [X] Load images automatically
*Check the exceptions in "Tools > Options > Content: Load Images > Exceptions"
*Check the "Tools > Page Info > Media" tab for blocked images (scroll through all the images with the cursor Down key).
If an image in the list is grayed and there is a check-mark in the box "<i>Block Images from...</i>" then remove that mark to unblock the images from that domain.
Make sure that you do not block third-party images, the permissions.default.images pref should be 1.
*http://kb.mozillazine.org/Images_or_animations_do_not_load
There are also extensions (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) and security software (firewall, anti-virus) that can block images.
Make sure that you allow pages to choose their colors and that you haven't enabled High Contrast in the Accessibility settings.
*Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Colors : [X] "Allow pages to choose their own colors, instead of my selections above"

How can I get the file name to change with the picture, or
better yet, keep Internet Explorer from showing the file name in

Image placeholder not working in internet explorer
I'm using DreamweaverMX and I used the swap image behavior to make thumbnails appear in a larger placeholder below. When I load the site in Firefox the thumbnails come up and when you click them it displays properly below. However when I open it in internet explorer the placeholder shows up on the screen prior to clicking thumbnails with a red X in the corner. This is a problem because there is more than one placeholder for the different orientations and they are showing up on the page. Any advice appreciated. Thanks
That is correct behavior for IE - unlike FF, it will display the broken image icon when the image is missing.
You might consider simply starting with a transparent.gif which you dimension the the needed size.

BEx Query Designer - Execute pops up blank Internet Explorer session
Hi gurus,
From BEx Query Designer, I choose Execute, and it pops up a blank Internet Explorer window rather than the query. It says about:blank in the URL and the page is white.
I read some posts that say to run RSPOR_SETUP, but I don't have a Java system or Portal system so does that still apply to me? I want the URL that pops up to point to the BW system which is an ABAP system.
E_URL_PREFIX http://BWSAPF00.mydomain.com:8100
E_URL_PATH /sap/bw/BEx
E_URL_PROTOCOL http
E_URL_SERVER BWSAPF00.mydomain.com
E_URL_PORT 8100
E_SUBRC 0
Warm Regards,
CMHi,
Please note that Java stack is mandatory for running Queries in web side
or for executing the Queries using Transaction RSRT -> Java Web or
for executing the Queries using Query Designer in Release 7.x .
So, please install Java stack and use BI Java components for running
Queries in web side here.
Also, please refer the following note for details:
917950 - SAP NetWeaver 2004s: Setting Up BEx Web
Also keep a note of the following:
Please check the following link:
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwpi71

"With SAP NetWeaver 7.1, the Visual Administrator (VA) is replaced by
the SAP NetWeaver Administrator, that is, all relevant functions of
the VA are available in the SAP NetWeaver Administrator.
The VA is no longer delivered as of SAP NetWeaver 7.1. "
The interface is a little bit different now, but the installation
steps still follow the same logic as SAP NetWeaver 2004s.
You can use manual steps to set up integration as per note 917950.
Also, please don´t use report RSPOR_SETUP for configuration check
between ABAP and Java for SAP NetWeaver 2004s.
The report has been replaced by the support desk tool.
Please have a look at note '937697 - Usage of
SAP NetWeaver BI Diagnostics & Support Desk Tool'
RSPOR_SETUP is obsolete in BI 7.x release and Supportdesk tool should
be used in 7.x release.
Also refer the following notes:

1512356 - Patches for NetWeaver 7.30 BI Java Support Package

And, please note that Patch Level 0 is not supported for BI Java components as per the following note:
1789842 - Patch Level 0 for BI Java Installation
Please do look at the note 1789842 for details.
Please check the Support Desk Tool as per the note 937697 and if you find
any RED signals in the file systeminfo.txt included in the file
supportdesk.zip, please correct it as per the Solution mentioned
there and check if it helps.

Usingservlets to create PNG images are not transparent in internet explorer
11/01/2007
I have used servlets to dynamically create a PNG image:
response.setContentType("image/png");
image = new BufferedImage(maxWidth, maxHeight, BufferedImage.TYPE_INT_ARGB);
Graphics g2d = image.creatGraphics();
g2d.setColor(new Color(128,0,250,128));
g2d.draw......
ServletOutputStream out = response.getOutputStream();
ImageIO.write(image, "png", out);
Works perfectly with transparency for Firefox. However in Internet Explorer
it does not have any transparency, and also has a gray background as shown
in http://www.apl.jhu.edu/~vnguyen/pngInIEbug.JPG. The image is simply the
call to the servlet, which returns the PNG file. Tried using the fix presented in
http://homepage.ntlworld.com/bobosola/index.htm without success. The
overall program will produce several images layered on top of each other
so transparency is key. Please help.Either put more research into the IE fix so you can make it work, or switch to using GIF images which will work.

HELP - Image fills not displaying in Internet Explorer 11
Not sure why but image fills are not displaying in IE 11. This is critical for me. Any idea why this would be happening? I thought Muse supports IE11 ?
It seems to be an issue with the global.css file. If I remove the characters following the ? I can see the images.. however the images don't take on 100% width.. they are showing as 1/2 the width.

Snip tool randomly pops up in internet explorer
how do i stop that?
This can be an issue with IE blocking the content or preview , try to publish the site as a trial site and then check, also check with a latest version of IE for isolating the issue with specific IE version.
Thanks,

When I use Firefox the images and logos don't show up clearly/correctly. I'm using Windows 2000 Pro. and just installed Firefox 3.6.6. I'm sure I have the right graphics driver as I'm able to see the images and logos clearly in Internet Explorer. I only have the "default plugin 1.0.0.15" installed. I'm thinking that I'm missing a plugin or add-on of some sort, but I'm not sure which one(s). When I go to "updates" it says there were no updates available. When I go to "Add-ons" it gives a list of Add-ons but I'm not sure which would help my issue. Any help would be appreciated.:)

Any chance you have a dial-up connection that uses a web accelerator to speed the loading of content? -
Hi--my web site is www.vergent.net, and for some reason, the background image will not center in Internet Explorer, but I'm having this issue only on the home page. (And only in IE. I am looking at it on IE 9). I've tried a number of workarounds, and nothing is working. Strangely, the same Master applied to other pages looks fine.
Please help!
A few more details:
The background image is placed into the Master page via the "browser fill" method. I tried a workaround where I just paste the background image directly onto the page and then placed content over that. However, IE doesn't seem to read the z-index information correctly. The result is that the background image winds up on top of all the content in IE using this method.
Any help will be most appreciated.
Thanks,
JenniferPS, I have temporarily resolved this problem by uncentering the content and just pinning everything flush to the left.

Servlet-client file serialization and Internet Explorer
I've written a servlet that serializes a multi-page tiff file to the requesting user-agent. The servlet works fine with Firefox and Netscape Navigator, opening a dialog to launch the default handler applicaton for the "image/tiff" MIME type, but Internet Explorer chokes on the output, popping up an error dialog that states the following:
Internet Explorer cannot download <icn>.tif from <hostname>
Internet Explorer was not able to open this Internet site. The requested site is either unavailable or cannot be found. Please try again later.
This is on top of a File Download dialog that shows the <icn>.tif being downloaded and a status of "Getting file information"

Dreamweaver Internet Explorer problems
I am having the issue with my website, www.green-scouts.org, where it will view fine in Firefox and Safari but not in Internet Explorer. I am new to Dreamweaver so coding it foreign. Any suggestions would help. Thanks
All the images are CMYK JPGs which Internet Explorer does not recognize. Never use CMYK mode for web images. It's for print only.
Go back to your image editor (Photoshop?) and re-save them all as RGB JPGs (in Photoshop: Image > Mode > RGB Color) -
