Image not part of popup link

I have an old WinHelp project that I am converting to HTML
Help. The project opened up in RH6 HTML quite nicely, but the
output generated from the new project has some issues. I have a few
pages with small image 'buttons' to the left of a string. The whole
line (image and string) are supposed to be linked to a popup topic.
The old WinHelp file works properly - I can click on the image or
text and the popup is shown. In the new help, my cursor turns to a
'hand' over both the string and button, but the popup only opens
when I click the text. Looking at the HTML, both the image and
string are part of the overall hyperlink. Is this something new
with HTML help, or can the code be modified so the image can cause
the popup as well?
Here is code for one of the aforementioned image/text links:

Hi Bhargav - Are you getting the image from proxy? where is that file located?
though i'vent worked on - you can try something like below..
http://scn.sap.com/community/pi-and-soa-middleware/blog/2005/11/23/xi-html-e-mails-from-the-receiver-mail-adapter
Just construct the html using xslt and add your image location under img tag and see if that works..
i.e. if your company logo is accessible using a URL then try something like
<img src="http://yourcompany.com/logos/logo.jpg">

  • Image not showing in Links

Somehow a few images in my document, which previously showed in the links, now do not. The image is visible, just not the link in the panel. What may have happened, and how to I find it? The preflight indicates no missing link, but it's clearly not there in the link panel. Seems odd.

In order to make the file "whole" again. The image(s) without panel info have to be deleted and either via CMD+D or File > Place... the same asset is selected from the supporting artwork folder and re-placed into position. Replacement will not happen if the image without the panel info is the selected frame and an attempt to place is made, the panel stays blank.
    All files begin as CS5.5
We have a blank folder/document structure which is duplicated and renamed as jobs are processed into design.
We preach that all revisions are followed up with a Save As... However, there are these few instances where the file is opened, checked and closed without a save & without any revisions.
These are to check for the correct use of rich black and 100% black usage on the page. (All type elements selected over, one at a time with the type tool. As many as 200 text blocks per layout page.) Generally, this late in revisions, this is not the first check for rich, 100% black so it is pretty common that no changes are made.
Every image is selected and the effects panel is checked to make sure the same drop shadow settings are used. Cancel.
The last is simply opening the document and cycling through some panels prior to final file approval and before mechanicals are made...
Swatches >> Check for unused swatches.
    Swatches >> Add unnamed colors
Character Styles > None but default, no modifications.
Paragraph Styles > None but default, no modifications.
File > Package... (Look at the summary for issues, click Cancel.)
-- One more thing, not sure if this is related... when switching application focus from another app to an InDesign window, InDesign does not always become active or completely active. Sometimes the window will come to the front with menu bars active but the document not active. Happens with only 1 document open as well as several. Sometimes focus will not happen at all unless the visible documents top border is clicked. (Clicking on the layout does nothing.)

I am testing on emp/dept table for the popup link. In the emp page, I can click the ename, and it will popup a dept page. The problem is the dept page will show all the dept table rows, NOT the dept info for that particular emp.
Here is the HTML expression for column ename:

  • Javascript popup link not working

I've searched everywhere so trying to post here to see if anyone has encountered this.  I have a javascript popup link in a PDF.  Using Reader 9 and IE8.  When I click the link it asks me if I want to allow or not.  When I say allow, I then get an IE error that reads:
Internet Explorer cannot download file  .
    Unspecified Error
I've noticed that if I already have IE running, then the link works.  But if I don't have an IE window open I get the error.  The link looks like this:
    javascript:void(window.open('http://servername/appname/apppage.aspx?id=2','_blank','width=700,height=500,tool bar=0,scrollbars=0,location=0,statusbar=0,menubar=0,resizable=0'))
This link has to be a javascript window.open based on how it is generated.  The PDF is generated by SQL reporting services and the online version of the report needs to launch a new window for this application - the PDF is created directly from the online version of the report.

Please repost in the Acrobat Scripting forum.

    Rick,
looks like you built the application in "Development" mode - switch the build style to "Deployment" and most probably things will be fine in the other machine.

  • Why, when i click a requested popup link, does the popup open as a full-screen tab, not as a sized popup as per the link parameters?

i am building a webpage with requested popup links. other browsers show me a popup as expected but firefox just opens the popup in a new tab, no sizing, nothing.

  • BUG - Images not being generated

    Something I just noticed...
I'm using RoboHelp for System User Guides. For each screen in
the System, I have a topic. In this topic is a screen shot of the
screen. To save space on the topic I decided to try something new
and link to the image through a "Custom-Sized Popup". Of course
RoboHelp doesn't list images in the "Select Destination (file or
URL)" -- even though it states files should be listed--- anyway, I
have to manually link to it in the "Link to: " text box.... So
that's fine... I can go into the Image Properties, Used In tab, and
it lists the page it's linked from.
    Everything
    seems to be in order.
I try and test out my newly created link. I generate the
WebHelp output of the project and load the topic. I click on the
link and imagine my shock and dismay when I find -- what's this --
a 404 ?! What's more, all images I've linked to this way are
    not included in the output!
It seems that RoboHelp, in it's infinite wisdom, decides that
since this image isn't being directly linked to from any topic, it
will save space and not create it in the output..... The quick and
easy workaround is to create a topic which includes all the images.
With this topic created, the images will be created in the output
and the image link will work.
I thought this post might come in handy for someone who gets
    stuck with the same problem
    Adios
    -Tyler Waters
Idea for future release of RoboHelp:
    - Include images in the "Select Destination".... or at least
remove "file or" from the label as files are not listed.
    - Include images in the output if they are linked to
    anywhere in the project.

    Colleagues:
I've found a method for RH to get you halfway there.
You can import an image as a baggage file and find it in the
hyperlink dialog (link to file, navigate to the imported image).
This is a lot faster than
    1. Creating a new topic (name, properties, etc.)
    2. Deleting the boilerplate
    3. Inserting an image.
Still, RH won't self-size or let you self-size the popup
    window.
For this you need to insert some Javascript code into the
HREF string. You can do this either inside RH Truecode or in the
output files. Either way, you have to do it for every image you
want to pop up in a custom window.
So you're trading one chore for another.
A couple of benefits, if you consider them so:
An image in a popup window will shrink and expand (up to
original size) when you resize the window. You can't resize an
    image in a topic popup.
The javascript specifies window attributes. An image-only
popup doesn't need menu, navigation, status and tool bars, just the
corners that close and resize the window.
If you are (or anyone else is) interested in trying this,
please reply here and I'll post some suggested code.
    Regards,
    Harvey

  • Image not appearing in rhbag.apj

I want to thank everyone that contributed to my other question about files residing outside of RoboHelp. Management has decided to keep the symbolic link structure in place.
So on to the new question. I'm using RH8. I captured a new screen shot and saved it in the Image folder in my project. I then went into RH, opened my topic, clicked Insert | Image, browsed to the image folder and selected the new system_setup.gif. The image appeared in the right pane in the image gallery. Once I clicked OK and saved the project, I was able to see the image in the proper folder inside the Image Gallery in the left pane. I then compiled my help project.
When I open the rhbag.apj file, I do not see my new system_setup.gif listed. All my other images are listed except the new one. Do I need to add the file manually to the baggage file?  How does the baggage file get updated?
A side note. All files I work on are versioned under Rational ClearCase. I did not check out the rhbag.apj file before inserting the image in my topic in RH. Not sure if they makes a difference.
    Thanks!

    Hi there
The Baggage folder is used only to add content that isn't otherwise known to your project. Because the image is part of your project it will not be listed in Baggage unless you specifically add it. Adding it certainly won't hurt anything, but it isn't necessary.
    Cheers... Rick

  • Excel Pivot (molap) will not refresh from an SSAS box that is not part of the Farm

I have spent hours trying to get this working going through many links.  One of the best ones is this.
    http://whitepages.unlimitedviz.com/2010/12/connecting-to-cubes-and-external-data-with-excel-in-sharepoint/
However even after doing all of this it is still not working.  Here is my set up.  I have a sharepoint 2013.  I am trying to connect to my DW SSAS server that is on a different domain and not part of the farm.  Everything else seems to
work but excel.  I have power view connecting and creating great reports with refesh working perfect.  I have performance point working.  I have Reporting Services working.  We installed adventureworks on the local SSAS farm version and
excel is working with this and refreshed just fine.  I can ceate and excel report and save it to sharepoint but when I open it I get the famous error.
An error occurred during an attempt to establish a connection to the external data source. The following connections failed to refresh:
I can open in excel and then refresh all from excel and all works fine.  I do not want my users to have to go through this.  They should be able to use excel in sharepoint.  Any ideas on what I am missing.  I have tried to follow exactly
what the link above says but still not working.
    Ken Craig

The first article is checking to make sure power pivot is installed and local ssas is running. This could not be an issue since like I mentioned I can create a Excel report to the local farm version of ssas and it opens and refreshed fine.  That
would mean that power pivot is installed and the services are running right:)?
The second article I have done over and over and I am pretty sure this works.  Again I can export to excel and it works just fine meaning my Data source is valid right?  yes I have chosen "none" as well.
The third article talks about the different viewers.  Mine is using
xlviewer.aspx so I would assume this is not the issue.
Here is what I am seeing in the logs but I am not sure what they are saying.  I used uls view somewhat like you would profiler. I started it tried to open excel and then stopped it.  Below are logs that look like they pertain to this action.

  • LinkToAction Image not displaying in NWDS

    Hi,
I am on NWDS version Version: 2.0.14.
My imageSource file (abc.gif) associated with each LinkToAction type element displays fine in execution mode.  However, the image does not display in NWDS.  All I see is a blank in the layout where the link is.  I also have a blank text property because I only wish to show an image for the link. Images not showing in NWDS slows considerably my layout development.
Conversely, when I create an Image type element and I specify the imageSource file the same way, I see the image in both NWDS and in execution mode.
My image files are stored appropriately in the mimes\Components folder.
What could I be doing wrong?  Is this a bug with NWDS?
    Thanks,
    Kevin

Probably a bug. Real WYSIWYG will be available in the new view designer implementation.

  • Image not displaying in HTML output

Hello! We have been using Report Builder 10.1.2.0.2 to generate PDF reports which contain a logo. However, when the same report is changed to DESFORMAT=HTML or HTMLCSS, we get a red "x" for the image. I'm not sure if this is issue can be resolved within the Oracle RDF file itself, or whether it is because of our architecture. We are executing the reports from Oracle Application Express, which utilizes HTTPS protocol and is hosted by Oracle HTTP Server on a server located in the DMZ of our corporate network. The Reports Services server is on a separate server, located within our corporate network. The Oracle Reports are executed through the browser using HTTP protocol. Could this be an SSL issue or a reverse-proxy issue on OHS? It seems that the image cannot be displayed in the browser because the path to the image is not recognized or valid. The image was embedded in the RDF file via Insert...Image, not File Link. This issue is not exhibited in our DEV environment, where both OHS and Reports Server are within the network. Any ideas would be appreciated.

    Hello,
Right click on the red "x" and select "properties" to check the URL used to "download" the image.
The reports servlet will use information defined in the HTTP server conf file (httpd.conf) to build this URL
    Parameters are :
    ServerName
    Port
    UseCanonicalName
You can fnd details in the "My Oracle Support" document :

  • Images not showing up in CSS.

    Ok,
I completed my site in dreamweaver cc and I moved my CSS files outside of dreamweaver (big mistake). That messed everything up. I moved the files back to the original folder and relinked everything. Most of the pages work as I originally designed them. However, my index page shows some of my css styling but no image. I looked at the code and everything is written in the code the way I intended, but my background image isn't showing up in browser preview. I'm getting all my text, navigation tool bar and no images except for a facebook link. I'm running Mac Mavericks too.

    Thanks!

    Hello Darry,
what I understand is, that you have loaded up all your images to "Instagram". I quote: "Instagram is an online mobile photo-sharing, video-sharing and social networking service that enables ...  (Instagram - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia), This means you don't have access to the program itself combining it with DW.
You can insert a link into your source code at you did above, thats it. If you want working your menu (I couldn't find an " about.html" or "Resume.html" aso.), you have to put all the links and your images into your own website.
I hope I could describe the situation, so that you can understand what I mean.

  • Outlook 2007 - Blocked Images "Red X" for HTTPS Links

Exchange 2007 SP1 / Outlook 2007 SP1 - One of my users receives their airline tickets via email from Delta.  The barcode image in the email is linked to a secure HTTPS site.  Outlook blocks this image but other ISPs (GMail, Charter WebMail, etc...) do not so its not a corrupt image; it has to be a security setting in Outlook.  I've already tried the methods below with no success.  Any ideas?
    1.  Tools, Trust Center, Automatic Download.  Uncheck "Don't download pictures autmatically...".
    2.  HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Outlook\Security. It contains a key called "OutlookSecureTempFolder ".
    3.  Internet Explorer, Tools, Internet Options, Advanced Tab, Multimedia - Show Pictures

I couldn’t view pix in Outlook 2007 emails I received. I got this solution from
    http://office-outlook.com/outlook-forum/index.php/m/291552/#msg_291552
     and it worked for me:
“I had the same problem. Just empty white boxes where the images were supposed
to be. But I found the answer to it on the net. It seems I selected an option
and never bothered to read what it was for (silly me).
It is the Show Picture Placeholders option.
The description for it says "Display an empty box in place of each graphic
in the document to improve scrolling performance"
If you have the same problem, do the following:
Create a New email, click the Office Button in the top left, choose the
Editor Options button at the bottom right, select Advanced, scroll down to
the "Display email content" section and make sure there is no tick next to
    the "Show Picture Placeholders" option.
Try it. It worked for me right now :)

  • I am unable to print only the first few lines of an e-mail. Also, it will then print in a very small type and will also include extraneous information on the screen that are not part of the e-mail. Is there anything I can do about this annoying problem?

I can only print the first few lines of an e-mail, even when it is on "Full View" on my screen. Moreover, it prints with very small print that is hard to read and also contains additional material on the screen that is not part of the e-mail.
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened
== Since the first day I started using Firefox

I talked to Adobe Support tonight and found this issue to be a known problem with some of the Adobe Cloud products when using older hardware, in this case the C782.
So, we found a workaround. Unfortunately the work around isn’t efficient and adds more steps to their normal printing routine
Open InDesign and create, modify delete the card
    Select FileàExport
A window will appear. Pick the location you wish to save the file
Once the File is saved another window will appear
    “EXPORT Adobe PDF”
An Export to Adobe PDF window will appear. Accept all defaults. MAKE CERTAIN “VIEW PDF
    After EXPORTING” is CHECKED
    Select Export
Once EXPORT is complete the file will open automatically in Adobe Acrobat
Most likely the screen will be very large
Select the + - sign at the top of the page to adjust the page size to view the image
    Select FileàPrint
    The Print window will appear
Select the printer from the drop down
    # of COPIES is just below Printer
    Select OK
I hope this helps anyone who is having similar issues
    Thanks
