Image of databases needs t osaved as a dmp file

Hi,
one of our application team requesting an image of 2 databsases (a & b) databases saved as a DMP file
can any one helpe me, how can i so this?
Oracle 10g
Thanks in Advance

Hello,
You can use conventional export/import or datapump utility to back database a and b. And then zip or tar them together :).
Datapump Export Example as SYSTEM user using pl/sql. Make sure DIRECTORY OBJECT ( 'ADMIN_DIR'*) (you can name whatever you like) exists berfore running this export*
DECLARE
   h1   NUMBER;
BEGIN
   BEGIN
      h1        :=
         DBMS_DATAPUMP.open (operation => 'EXPORT',
                             job_mode => 'FULL',
                             job_name => 'A_EXPORT_JOB',
                             version => 'COMPATIBLE'
   END;
   BEGIN
      DBMS_DATAPUMP.set_parallel (handle => h1, degree => 1);
   END;
   BEGIN
      DBMS_DATAPUMP.add_file (handle => h1,
                              filename => 'EXPDAT.LOG',
                              directory => 'ADMIN_DIR',
                              filetype => 3
   END;
   BEGIN
      DBMS_DATAPUMP.set_parameter (handle => h1,
                                   name => 'KEEP_MASTER',
                                   VALUE => 0
   END;
   BEGIN
      DBMS_DATAPUMP.set_parameter (handle => h1,
                                   name => 'ESTIMATE',
                                   VALUE => 'BLOCKS'
   END;
   BEGIN
      DBMS_DATAPUMP.add_file (handle => h1,
                              filename => 'MYDATABASE_A.DMP',
                              directory => 'ADMIN_DIR',
                              filetype => 1
   END;
   BEGIN
      DBMS_DATAPUMP.set_parameter (handle => h1,
                                   name => 'INCLUDE_METADATA',
                                   VALUE => 1
   END;
   BEGIN
      DBMS_DATAPUMP.set_parameter (handle => h1,
                                   name => 'DATA_ACCESS_METHOD',
                                   VALUE => 'AUTOMATIC'
   END;
   BEGIN
      DBMS_DATAPUMP.start_job (handle => h1, skip_current => 0, abort_step => 0);
   END;
   BEGIN
      DBMS_DATAPUMP.detach (handle => h1);
   END;
END;

  • Saving images into database

    Hi All,
    I have a table with 3 BLOB columns to store images and a NUMBER type column to store the image id_no. I am using database 10g and Forms 6i
    My problem is I recently updated the database from 8i to 10g, and since then I am unable to update or insert the new images in these BLOB columns. When I update the existing image or insert new image record through forms, It does save the changes in existing or new record. But It does not show these images while query the record. and also does not give any error while executing the query in forms.
    But while trying to retrive the image from updated records or new record in reports, It throughs the error that image is format is unreadable or currupt.
    There wasn't any problem in 8i, i could update the record as many times I wanted or create as many records as needed.
    Is anybody have any clue about this problem! Any help in this regard will be highly appriciated.
    Thanking you and Best Regards.

    You should not save an image to database, since it'll make database slow, and difficult to write a web page to load image.
    Save an image to specific location, and save image location to database.
    Then, use <img> tag to call an image in web page.

  • Image Gallery from images in database.

    Hi,
    I am developing image gallery from images stored in oracle database.
    I am using JQuery ColorBox plugin (http://www.jacklmoore.com/colorbox/example1/) and I need to specify image in href for plugin.
    My JSP page (http://localhost:8080/gallery/show_image.jsp?id=1) fetch image from database and show.
    I can see image in browser when I run url http://localhost:8080/gallery/show_image.jsp?id=1.
    But following not working when JSP page specify in href.
    <h2>No Transition + fixed width and height (75% of screen size)</h2>
    class="group3" href="http://localhost:8080/gallery/show_image.jsp?id=1">Grouped Photo 1</ a>
    class="group3" href="http://localhost:8080/gallery/show_image.jsp?id=2">Grouped Photo 2</ a>

    Hard to say when you don't provide anything actually useful other than "its not working". I can only guess that your JSP needs to set a proper content-type. I would investigate using an image servlet in stead of your JSP:

  • Storing jpg or gif images in database

    Hi,
    I want to store the images from system folder to database.
    Ex: "c:/images"
    is the foldername
    I want to access this folder from JSP and want to store a selected image from the user to database and getting back that image to view by a query. so how can i achive this.....

    Hi All,
    I have 2 things to discuss in this thread.
    First to store Images in Database: We can store Images as Binary content in the Database with the Datatype as BLOB. This is possible in ORACLE. I am not sure what the Datatype is in other RDBMS. Please refer to Vendor documentation. After storing, the content can be retrieved and displayed in the pages as image resources using a Servlet. The Servlet will only render the content of the Image.
    Second to load Images from User's Systems folder: Why do you have such a requirement? Even then, you need to use any common techniques like Multipart form to upload the specific image file to the Server. Kindly read Oreilley's Multipart Request Form Object example for implementation.

  • How to store images in database and retrieve them back to page?

    Well I don't know how to store an image file to a database (say MSSQL) from the JSP and retrieve it back whenever needed and put it on the JSP page? Please help me.

    I am not sure how to store images in database but what you can do is store the image into particular folder using FileOutputStream and its unique name into the database...and than retrieve it from the folder using that name retrieved from database...

  • Need archive for images/text {I need advise}

    Hi all, I need to have like an intelligent archive for both images and text, this solution has to include security, file searching capabilities, content searching, etc. I know that IFS can do this, but, what hardware do I need to do this? (RAM, Processor, disks), I think that I have an idea of this, but if someone has experience doing this I will appreciate his/her comments. The database that I have is Oracle8i 8.1.6 or 8.1.7.
    Thanks

    1) Swing related questions should be posted in the Swing forum.
    2) Use the [url http://forum.java.sun.com/help.jspa?sec=formatting]Code Formatting Tags so the posted code is readable.
    3) Use the DefaultTableModel instead of creating your own custom TableModel. The DefaultTableModel already has method to remove rows from the table.
    4) There is no way to delete a line from a text file. The easiest way to accomplish your goal to so simply rewrite the file completely.

  • JSP and Images with database

    Ok, I have looked around on posts on this forum but still haven't come across an answer. I am trying to create a simple jsp page that contains some thumbnail images. The image locations are stored in a mysql database (e.g. http://www.somewhere.com/images/image1.jpg"). Assuming that I didn't know how many images were stored in the mysql table, how can I set up a jsp page that will automatically retreive all the image locations from the database and put the appropriate tags in the jsp to display all the images in an html table? In other words, I am trying to avoid writing in the jsp page a bunch of <tr><td><img src=.....></td></tr> statements. Do I need to do this with a tag library? You help is much appreciated! Let me know if I need to be more clear.

        class.forName("com.mysql.jdbc.Driver");
        conn = DriverManager.getConnection(url, user, pass);
        statement = conn.createStatement();
    String query = "SELECT images FROM database";
    ResultSet results = statement.executeQuery(query);
    while(results.next()) {

        <tr>
            <td><img src="<%= results.getString("images") %>"></td>
        </tr>
    <% } %>
    </table>The while loop will loop through your result set and print the table row for each image it finds in the query.

                                pc1.Image = System.Drawing.Image.FromStream(mstream);
    It says Parameter not Valid... i am reading all the images from database

    I agree with Viorel. You are getting the error because the format of the data is incorrect probably because the data was modify. It may not be the reading of the database the is incorrect, but the application that wrote the data into the database. You need
    to compare the imgg array data with the data before it was written to the database to see if the data matches.  I usually start by comparing the number of bytes which is easier to check then compare the actual to isolate which function is changing the
    byte count.
    An image is binary data.  The standard VS methods for reading and writing data (usually stream classes) default to ASCII encoding which will corrupt binary data.  The solution usually is to use UTF8 encoding instead of the default ascii encoding.
    Ascii encoding with stream often aligns the data and adds extra null bytes to the end of the data which can produce these type errors.

    When I retrieve, I got 3 rows of binary data, but I don't know how to display it on the Servlet/JSP pages.I will pick this bit of your post, because you seemed to have several partly-overlapping questions.
    You are going about this wrong. You need to decide what your HTML will look like before you start writing servlet code. In this case you want to have something like a table, with an image in each row, right? Now what does the HTML for that look like? It's a <table> element, and so on, but what about the images? Well this is HTML, so it can't contain the binary images. It has to contains links to the images, and the browser will download the image from each of those links and put all of the downloads together into the page it displays.
    That means you can't do it all with one servlet. You need a main servlet that generates the HTML, with the <table> element and the links to the images. Probably you need some DB calls here to find out how many images you're going to have, but you don't need to get them in this servlet. You just need to generate a link for each of them.
    Then you need a second servlet that gets an image. It's going to get a single row from the DB and return the binary image you read from that row. Make sure to use "image/jpg" or whatever's appropriate instead of "text/html" in your response's content type here.
    I will leave you to carry on from here. First step is to design the HTML that your main servlet will produce; remember that the links it generates need to carry enough information for the second servlet to be able to find the right image in the DB.

  • Will you give me an example in how to "upload" an image to database?

    For example if the image is c:\image1.jpg
    what are the steps to save it in the database instead of being accessed thru a file?
    an example is needed thanks.

    Yes. You would create 2 procedures, one to upload the
    image into the DB, one to display the images. The image For a working example, see http://otn.oracle.com/sample_code/products/intermedia/htdocs/imedia_plsqlgw_sample/imedia_plsqlgw_readme.htm

    I have just started to use Muse for our design agency and learning how to build ourselves a new site, I have managed to create a basic lightbox which contains sliding images, what I need to do now is have a pop up window which goes into detail about the projects, what I would like is a piece of text  or icon that when you roll over it and then click a separate window pops up with additional information in, once finished reading the info you can then click to close the box, any advice on how to do this?

    The best way to do what you're asking is with the Composition widget. Start with the Tooltip preset, which, by default shows the info on rollover. You can change the option to show on click, which is what you're after. You can also add the close button or have the info disappear on rollout.

  • I am able to get color images in the continues shot but when i try to snap a color image which i need for my processing i get only a monocrome image

    I have been using lv_vfw.llb VI's for grabbing images from a CREATIVE WEB CAM ,i am able to get color images in the continues shot but when i try to snap a color image which i need for my processing i get only a monocrome image ,i have been trying to play around with the RGB weightings but i am unable to get a color iamge,it shall be of great help if you could help me in doing this as it is urgent for me.Thanks for your help.

    vicky,
    I am unfamiliar with the lv_vfw.llb, and have not used it before. However, I noticed that you stated that you are able to grab in color, just not snap in color. If this is the case, why not just perform a grab and then extract a single buffer from this grabbed data, which would likely be in color? This seems like a possible solution to the issue that you are seeing.
    Other than that, I really don't know enough about the lv_vfw.llb to be of much help on this issue. Hopefully another member of this forum will be able to assist you with this software.
