Image to go with my Podcast

I have successfully published my first (video)podcast using iMovie (and iWeb, of course) but when viewing the site it only has an empty box to represent the podcast and no image to go with it. Do you know how I add one - in iMovie or with the help of the Inspector perhaps?

before you bring the file from iMovie into iWeb, take it into garageband first. You set the image to appear at the top before the movie plays here.
Here's what I found in the help menu inside garageband....
"To edit podcast artwork:
Double-click artwork in either the Episode Artwork well or the marker list.
The image editor opens with the artwork.
Drag the resize slider to size the artwork as large or small as you want. The black square shows what part of the artwork will be displayed when you play the podcast.
Drag the artwork so that the part you want to display is within the borders of the square.
You can replace the artwork by dragging a new image to the image editor.
When you are finished, click Set."

What the heck is with downloading podcasts in iTunes on the iPad2?

My issues specifcally surround my downloading of CNBC Fast Money and Mad Money every night. Here are my gripes:
Most times when I try to download these podcasts they are listed in my podcast libary but with a length of 02 mins. It seems something went wrong but I can't figure out what. I've been downloading these podcasts on my iPhone for a while and never ran into this problem. Is there anywhere I can look for troubleshooting hints? This is extremely frustrating when you expect to have downloaded a podcast only to have it error out time and time again. See 1st and 2nd images.
What is with the naming convention with these podcasts? My podcast library lists fastmoney.xml or madmoney.xml. Again when I do this on my iPhone the real titles come display along with dates of the podcast that I can actually discern. See 1st and 2nd images.
When I click the "done" button from within a podcast it takes me to a icon view of my podcasts instead of to my podcast library. In order to get to the library you have to go back out and click on the iPod icon on the home screen. See the 3rd image. This is annoying.

Unable to write an image to excel with report generation toolkit

I am unable to write an image to excel with the report generation toolkit. The VI works fine for word, but when I select Excel the speadsheet pens but remains blank.

Images in XML with DataShell

I'm playing around with the Data Set Shell with Accordion.

I need an image to load with the data that is in the
<desc> element and display it in the appropriate table cell.
I've tried giving the <desc> element an <img src="">
attribute, I've tried to load the image using a full URL
encapsulated in CDATA, etc etc. No luck. As you can see, I'm a bit
of a newbie.
I've had moderate success with putting <img src={image}
alt="" /> within the detailregion like this:

The problem with this is that it displays on *every* page,

You would put something like:
spry:if="'{image}' != 'undefined'"
in your IMG tag.
<img src={image} alt="" spry:if="'{image}' !=
'undefined'"/>
That will only print the tag if there is some value for
{image}.

Very unhappy with new podcast app...how can I get podcasts back into normal music app or possibly go back to iOS5?

Just "upgraded" to iOS 6.0.1. Thanks to the new "Podcast App" I can no longer keep my podcasts combined with my music. I don't want access to search new podcasts, but seems like I'm forced to have access to this section of the iTunes store as it comes with the podcast app, even when the iTunes store is turned off in the Restrictions section under General Settings. I can probably tell iTunes that my podcasts are really "music" by using the "get info" option in iTunes, but then it won't let me listen to it at double-speed, which is the only way I listen to podcasts. I'm very frustrated. Is there anyway around this or a way to "downgrade"?
If any Apple folks are listening please give us the option of how to listen to our podcasts. It's pointless to have to download one more app when it worked great the way it was. What is the point of separating them??????

"in which case it will" force install the app ... So Yes iTunes will force install the app as I said. My gripe is with Apple yet again forcing a change onto their customers. I use iTunes for sync, so no matter how many times I delete the crappy app it will be forced back on me at the next sync. Most apps have a "remove" option in iTunes but not podcasts. Again, there is no way to stop that I can see. If you know a way to stop this iTunes behavior please document it here. Thanks at least for these forums for aggrieved Apple customers having a chance to find solutions to these issues.

Hey, I aggree with Tempelton for the most part, but if you are an advanced user on the computer on the phone, there is one thing you can try. There is a program called RecBoot, which might help you, and here is a page that might help you. http://jaxov.com/2010/05/recboot-iphone-recovery-mode/ If you are not an advanced user, I would NOT recomend using RecBoot, and just proceeding with the restore. A little consolation could be that you probably had Photo Stream on, and you might have been backing up to iCloud, which should mean you'll have some stuff after the resote. Sorry this happened!

Error -50 with twit podcasts

As many may know, twit's podcast feeds were down over the weekend. Now they seem to be back up and running, but iTunes 7.0.1 for Windows won't sync the podcasts anymore - I get the horribly non-descriptive "There was a problem downloading whatever: An unknown error occurred (-50)." It does seem to fix the problem if I literally re-subscribe to the podcast by pasting its URL into the Subscribe to Podcast option, but this starts a new podcast entry. Some of these podcasts I've been downloading for literally a year and iTunes offers no way to assign other files into the podcast, so I'd end up with two identically named feeds! Obviously I don't want to go re-download every podcast episode, not to mention some of the 'casts don't even keep archives older than a certain time period. Is there a way to just change the URL associated with a podcast? Or is this just some known problem with Twit being down? What can I do??

Space between DIV with image and DIV with image background

I have just about finalized the new design on my website. The only issue I am having now is on the gallery page. There is a thin space between a DIV with an image and DIV with an image background. I am using these DIV's to give the illusion of a blue border. If you look at any of the other main pages on the site the space is not there. Any ideas?

Why can't I sync a playlist with only podcasts in it (to my IPHON4)?

Made a playlist with specific podcasts in it. (my weekly show series I like to listen to)
But, it will not sync the podcast shows. It seems like I can only sync the 10 or 5 or xx latest shows. Seems kind of dumb that I can't create a list to be able to listen to several podcasts in a user defined order....

Cannot view embedded images in emails with iPad mini

Hi there - I can't view embedded images in emails with iPad mini. Any reason why?
Can anyone help?

I am having the same problem + I cannot download pdf attachment effectively.
This all happened after I upgraded the iOS to 7.x. In iOS 6.x, everything was working fine. I was able to see all the images in the email and, when I clicked on the pdf attachment, it would ask me if I want to save the pdf file to iBook. Right now, I cannot have either ones working.
I am using iPad 2.

No thumbnail images in icons with Preview since reinstall of Tiger

Since a HDD crash and reinstall of Tiger at Apple Store with updates to 10.4.11, Preview.app is now NOT making image thumbnails but only shows an icon with the Preview logo and file type, ie. JPEG, PNG.
Also in Folders most images, but not all, are not showing up as they used to with miniature images.
This makes it very hard to tell what the image is merely with a number for the filename.
I tried deleting the plist but that didn't help. Anyone have any suggestions how to get real thumbnails back?

Thanks for the suggestions. I tried it several times to no avail and noticed that an older version of Preview which had been archived on an external drive was 13.2 MB on disk while the one which the Apple Store put onto the new hard drive was only 3 MB, even though they are both v3.0.9 (build 409) I've tried both and there doesn't appear to be any difference in functionality.
Still no thumbnails except on a few .jpgs. They do work from iPhoto if they are normal .jpg pictures if I drag the pic to the desktop from the iPhoto Library, but not panoramas which have been stitched, photos which have been cropped, modified or .gif or .tiff.
Guess we'll just have to keep looking for the answer to why they won't show up all the time.

Some images are showing with some red color ¿how do I return to original colors?

I`m using Mountain Lion and everything works right. Only some images are showing with a redish color. The first example is my cover photo in fb. When I click it, it returns to the original color. Anyone who has this problem and know how to fix it?

Here's My Problem With the Podcasts App

So, here's my problem with the Podcasts app on my iPhone 5 - it relies too heavily on streaming and not enough on downloading and syncing. For most of my 8 hrs at work each day I am out of contact with my wireless carrier. And the hospitals IT dept has chosen to block whatever port the Podcasts app uses to stream content. So nothing over Wi-Fi either.
As a result, all podcasts must being fully downloaded and ready to listen to prior to leaving for work. Unfortunately, even after fiddling with various settings in the app, I can't seem to get content to stick in the app. There are plenty of Unplayed episodes, but when I'm ready to listen, they're not really there and must be re-downloaded or streamed.
Here's what I am going to try:
• iTunes will continue do all of the downloading and syncing of podcasts to my iPhone
• In each Podcast on the iPhone I have Subscribe "ON" and Auto-Download "OFF"
I'm going to try this setup for a few days and see if it resolves my issue. Would appreciate any other observations and suggestions you might have. Cheers!

Simple really:
Delete the Podcasts app from your iPhone.
Restart your iPhone.
Continue managing your podcasts from iTunes, like you did under iOS 5.
After restarting your phone, Podcasts will play via the Music app on your phone again.

Missing Images Grey Box with ?

Have tried drills to view inserted images in 4-page Pages doc, going thru Finder to view, reinsertion of images, trashed com.apple.iwork.Pages.plist,,reinstalled iworks '05 CD, upgraded to 1.0.2, read copious discussions from gurus, still no joy. Images I inserted still there, elusive as ever which remain hidden with that ugly "X" and "?" when reopening doc. Am Mac addict from day one, average Mac user, not tech guru, programmer, developer but need step by step instruction for my low-level 83-year-old comprehension. Pages works o.k. with glitches but the missing image grey box with X and ? reared its ugly head last April and still with me on occasion. Finish 4-page Pages monthly Newsletter 5 meg doc with about 15 inserted jpeg images, "save as" for local distribution printing plus "pdf" for e-mail transmission, print it but when reopening doc after closing I get the grey box with X and ? for my inserted images and have to start over. Images I inserted originally still there opening thru Fiinder viewing "Package Content". Ran G5 Hardware CD test, no problem. From discussions I noted one solution that worked by uncompressing "index.xml.gz" file. Tried that with Stuffitt which didn't work. Am unable to view to see if my images were corrupted as the Discussion Guru "Sylvain Pedneault" outlined on Sep 15, 05, that his images had property sf:corrupt="true". Could be that's my problem if I knew how to determine and fix. I've hit a firewall and am patiently waiting for Apple Pages gurus to resolve this issue still unresolved which I'm confident they will, but at my age I don't buy green bananas. My frustration level is maxed out and will appreciate help in simple step by step language as a work-around until Apple Pages comes thru with upgrade. If I make it thru the Pearly Gates, not guaranteed, I'll put in a good word for the Guru who can resolve my problem!! Thanks.

If you want to uncompress a "index.xml.gz" file, try this way:
a) Copy the "index.xml.gz" file to your desktop, so you are not working with the original file.
b) Start from "Applications/Utilities" the program "Terminal".
c) In the terminal window, type: gunzip (with a space after it).
d) Grap the "index.xml.gz" file from the dektop and drop it over the terminal window.
e) Hit the return key.
Now you have a "index.xml" file, which you can open with a text editor.
To compress the file, do the following:
a) In the terminal window. type: gzip (with a space after it).
b) Grap the "index.xml" file from the dektop and drop it over the terminal window.
c) Hit the return key.
The file should be compressed.
To make the template readable for Pages, do the following:
a) Copy the original "index.xml.gz" file from the template package folder (not to the desktop) to have a backup.
b) Now copy the "index.xml.gz" file from the desktop (the one you have edited) to the template package folder and overwrite the original.
Please let us know, what you find out.

Why no new podcast in the last 2 days. All podcast are 2 days old, since 11/7/12

fresh air: well I guess it's not "Fresh Air! Lounge Series" because that hasn't had a new episode since August. Probably not "Fresh Air 92.7" because although their last Podcast in listed in the Store is 2nd November, there's no reason to expect anything since then. Perhaps it's "NPR Programs: Fresh Air Podcast", I have no idea.
kcrw the treatment (with Elvis Mitchell) has an episode from 6th November 2102, and no reason to expect more than one episode a week. By deduction therefore, the next one will be on the 13th November - three days away.
I was rather hoping to identify a specific Podcast series, and then narrow down whether there is a temporary glitch, and if so, whether it is only through iTunes (but not Apple's responsibility) or all and every Podcatcher. Perhaps even, a problem with a host server that stores the Podcasts, or an issue with the Podcast's producers.
If there is no common element to the Podcasts themsleves, then perhaps your iTunes can no longer get access to the internet.
