Images as hyperlinks.

I'm trying to hyperlink some images on my pages, I can easily link words using the inspector, but for some reason images does not work at all.
Does anyone know if it's possible to link images? Am I doing something wrong?
Thanks, I'll be so grateful for any responses.
Matilda.

Hello matild,
use a work-around like this:
Insert a fix positioned shape and disable the text wrap for it (wrap inspector). Adjust the size and position for perfect covering the image-text-area you want to have as a link. Make sure the shape is the top layer (menu: "Arrange/Bring to Front"). Than insert the text cursor (with a double-click) into the shape and show the ruler (command+r). Set the "Insert Margin" (text inspector at the bottom) to sero.
Insert a char and than a right aligned tab stop at the right border of the shape and press the tab-key on your keyboard. A new double-click inside the shape and the shortcut "command+a" will select the char and the space you have created with the tab stop. Now set the font size (over the font panel) to a size so the selection fills (nearly) the shape.
Now you can show the link inspector and you can activate the selection as a hyperlink. It is a bit tricky but it works. And don't forget to disable the fonts underlineing (in the font panel). If you don't see the effects section in the font panel, click on the gearing wheel at the bottom left of the font panle and choose the item "Show Effects".
Select the shape and make it 100% transparent (graphic inspector at the bottom) and multi-select it with your image and text. After grouping all together, you have your hyperlink image-text-area.
If you need special explanation, please ask again.

  • Images as Hyperlinks independant of Tomcat server

    we are trying to use images as hyperlinks without deploying the images to Tomcat in Web Intelligence. What exactly I am looking for is to either write a code that allows me to do so or place the image folder outside of Tomcat.
    Any idea or help will be appreciated.

    Hi Fahid,
    You can try the below steps which are pretty simple. It worked fine for me. For this I used an image object placed in ROOT directory of a web application server.
    1.
    Add a blank cell
    2.
    Right-click on the blank cell and select “Format cell”
    3.
    Under “General” specify Read content as “Hyperlink”
    4.
    Apply >> OK
    5.
    Right click on the cell >> "Edit Formula" >> Use the following formula
    ="<html><a href='http://localhost:8080' target='_blank'><img src = 'http://localhost:8080/sample.png' /></a></html>"
    Hope this helps.

  • Image as Hyperlink

    I am having some trouble getting an image to be a hyperlink with the image and hyperlink component.
    <a href="lastpage.htm">
    <img border="0" src="buttonnext.gif" width="65" height="38">
    </a>Can this be done with the jsf components?

    Hi
    Put an image component in the GridPanel. Also put an hyperlink component in the same gridpanel.
    Now go back to the JSP Source and modify the code like this.
    <h:panelGrid binding="#{Page1.gridPanel1}" id="gridPanel1" style="height: 100px; left: 48px; top: 168px; position: absolute" width="266">
    <h:outputLink binding="#{Page1.hyperlink1}" id="hyperlink1" style="left: 120px; top: 96px; position: absolute" value="http://www.sun.com/jscreator">
    <h:outputText binding="#{Page1.hyperlink1Text}" id="hyperlink1Text"/>
    <h:graphicImage binding="#{Page1.image1}" id="image1" value="resources/berries.jpg"/>
    </h:outputLink>
    </h:panelGrid>
    This will display an images that is clickable and will navigate to the URL specified.
    Hope this helps

  • Images as hyperlinks problems in Yosemite Mail

    Images as hyperlinks in the body or signature of an email do not work for recipients using Apple Mail in Yosemite.
    They work fine in earlier versions of Mail. I have tested this on several computers
    running Mavericks and Yosemite. Has anyone else encountered this problem?

    Back up all data, then disable, or preferably get rid of, your third-party "firewall" or "security" software as directed by the developer. If you don't know which such software is installed, ask for further instructions.

  • Need to insert image as hyperlink in infopath form

    currently in my infopath form i have inserted hyperlink control,it is working fine.
    but the issue is not able to customize the UI of hyperlink much,so now i don't want text has hyperlink,i want image as hyperlink.
    i noticed select picture option under hyperlink properties,but their is no browse option to select image.
    on click on image it should redirect user to some other page(.aspx).
    Is der any way to achieve this,image as hyperlink ?
    NOTE: i don't want to use custom code just for redirecting.

    Hi,
    This can be achieved though not as easy as it sounds.
    ## Field Reversion Issue
    Intuitively, you may think that if you click the “Insert” tab on your InfoPath form, and then choose “Picture”, and insert the picture on the form, you would then be able to bind that picture to a dynamic link. When you open the picture properties, you can
    even see where you can bind it. If you right click on the picture, select “Hyperlink” you will see the following:
    Great you are thinking! I just have to select my newly created dynamic field in the “Data Source” section and we’re good. Right? Unfortunately not.
    So, for example, I will go ahead and select my first link hidden field to populate the form. Here is what it looks like when I do:
    I then click “OK”. But it doesn’t work! Open the hyperlink properties again to see why:
    The “Link to” field has reverted back to the “Address” selection, losing all of your binding information. This is the field reversion link issue.
    ## Set Your Image URLS Dynamically (Field Reversion Work Around)
    Ingredients
    • InfoPath form
    • Form Links List populated with links
    • Image (or images) to link to queried URL values
    • Hidden fields containing URL values
    Steps
    1. Open your InfoPath form.
    2. Determine where on the form you wish to place the image.
    3. Open Windows Explorer and browse to your link image
    4. Right click on the Image and Choose “Copy”.
    5. Go back to your InfoPath form, click within the area you wish to have your image link, right click and choose “Paste”
    6. Your image should now appear on the form. Inserting an Image this way allows us to retain the data source binding. Click on the image if not selected already, and right click. Select “Hyperlink”
    7. Click the “Data Source” radio button.
    8. Select the Appropriate hidden link field and click “OK”
    9. Click “OK”. Now, if you open the hyperlink properties of this image, it will remember the binding. Copying and pasting allows the binding to be remembered. Inserting an image using the InfoPath Insert command does not.
    10. Repeat this process for each of the image/URL links you have in your form.
    11. Publish and test. You should be able to click the images in your form and have the appropriate URL open in a new window

  • Content Query Web Part - Custom ItemStyle.xsl to display image with hyperlink

    I don't have access to InfoPath or SharePoint Designer to edit the ItemStyle.xsl. So any solution suggested is preffered to be a manual change to ItemStyle.xsl
    I use Content Query Web part (in the main site) to list all the Wikis created in the a sub-site. The idea is to link each wiki to its printable version stored elsewhere.
    The wiki has custom column say "Link" that hold hyperlinks to the printable version.
    I want to create a column in the content query web part that displays an image (same image for all wikis stored in the site Assets) but on clicking takes me to the printable version page.
    I got the image displayed but the hyperlink takes me to the location where the image is stored and not to the printable version page.
    <!--Variable declared to read the link from the column Link-->
    <xsl:variable name="PDFLink">
    <xsl:value-of select="@Link"/>
    </xsl:variable>
    <!-- Image to the hyperlink-->
    <a href="{$PDFLink}">
    <img src="../Images/Icon.jpg"/>
    </a>

    Hyperlink column is treated a little different. The field, by default, puts the URL and then the friendly name concatenated together, but separated by a comma. So I created two variables one that pulls everythng before the comma and the other after. Then
    the html "a" tag looks like this:
    <!--Variable declared to read the link from the column Link-->
    <xsl:variable name="ActualLink" select="substring-before(@LinkColName,',')"/>
    <xsl:variable name="FriendlyName" select="substring-after(@LinkColName,',')"/>
    <!-- Image to the hyperlink-->
    <a href="{$ActualLink}"><xsl:value-of select="$LinkColumnName"/>
    <img src="/Images/Icon.jpg">

  • Images as Hyperlinks in webi reports

    Hi,
    I’m trying to link two webi reports (summary through Details) through Open doc syntax using Images in a cell.
    We have a requirement to link two webi reports (summary through Detail) using buttons (like Back & email) as images which will be embedded in to the cell and made hyperlink.
    I found many articles on "Hyper linking on the images" between 2 webi reports (summary to detail) using open doc syntax which did not help much. So I am starting a new thread.
    I’ve 2 scenarios happening, after the images being placed on the server - (…/usr/bobj/<installation Directory>/enterprise/images) –
    1st Scenario – Right click on the cell contents, make it read as “hyperlink” and set appearance to “boimg://image-name.png”
    Result: Image appears and there is no link. Cursor does not changes or no place to click.
    2nd Scenario – Read the image directly into Ahref tag as - <img src=\” boimg://image-name.png\”>
    Result: The link works perfectly fine. But, in the image place holder, a big “RED X” appears.
    The steps -
    - Placed a blank cell
    - Right click -> Appearance -> Image from Address:  boimg://image-name.png
    - Read contents as "Hyperlink" (at this point, tested the cell, image appears fine, but no link appears!)
    - Right Click on the same cell -> Document Link -> pass the values of the related objects -> Parse
    - Also Include the <img src=\” boimg://image-name.png\”> in the AHref tag generated by the system after open doc call
    - In the cell, both the image and the big RED X appears - image does not have a link and the big red X has link but no image. So basically nothing works!
    We are on BO 4.1 SP1.

  • How do I save an image with hyperlinks so it can be put in an e-mail?

    I designed an e-mail and used the slice tool to insert hyperlinks. Now I want to save it so that it can be put in the body of the e-mail with the hyperlinks active and usable. Any suggestions?
    Thanks!
    BI

    When you preview the image from the save for web dialog box, it will open your browser to see the image. It also will have the necessary html code needed for the links to work. Just copy that html code and add it to your email code with the image.

  • How to activate Image, Pdf, Hyperlink and Scale Prices in SRM-MDM

    Hi Experts,
    I have requirement to activate the following features:
    1. Image
    2. PDF
    3. Hyperlink
    4. Scale Prices
    These should be activated and should be available in the current business' internal catalogs so that users could be able to easily identify the item they want to create.
    Does anyone know the steps on how to proceed on these?
    I have read and researched about this and I found out that objects should be imported in Data Manager and the link between items should be mapped in Import Manager.
    I tried this first in Image, I was able to successfully import image. I tried adding the link first in existing item in data manager by right click on the Image field->Add/Link New... -> I was brought to the screen where I should add the image again, so I added ti again and there I was able to link the image and the item.
    I understand that for the image to be available in the end-user's internal catalog screen, I should modify UI Configuration. So I added the Image field by going to Customize Display Tab-> and adding it in the Item Lists, Cart Preview, Compare, Item details radio button. But when I checked on end-user's internal catalog screen, Image column is still not there.
    I believe PDF and Image has the same process. But how could I add the link between image and item for the entire catalog items?
    Please also help on how to activate the Hyperlink and Scale price functionality.
    Thank you so much!

  • Edited hyperlinked shape images not hyperlinking properly when published

    At my website:
    www.trianglepolysteel.com
    I've tried to add and edit hyperlinked shape images at the top of the page, namely "The PolySteel Systems" and "FAQs". No matter what I do--bring to front, recreate a brand new image, copy and paste one I know works--the published version does not hyperlink properly. I unselect "make all hyperlinks inactive" in the hyperlink inspector pane, rollover my mouse to ensure that all buttons take me to the proper place, then click them to prove it. Works in iWeb, not on the published page.
    Does anyone know how iWeb creates the code? When I save changes I've made, does it rewrite code for the entire page, or does it plug in edits at the end of the existing code? When I go in to view source in safari, it looks like it put the two edited/added images in a different location.
    Help! Visitors/potential customers are missing a valuable link on my site.
    Bradley

    OT,
    Yes, each is its own image, as making one text box and hyperlinking each word/phrase results in the unchangeable (arrrgh!) grey underlined text that changes to red on rollover.
    I've already been experimenting with exactly what you mentioned. I just tried shrinking all the image boxes, without encroaching on the text, so they would clearly not overlap. I'm publishing to me.com for these experiments so I don't have to keep publishing the entire site to a folder, then ftping to my server. Here's the page I just experimented with:
    http://web.mac.com/bradleyoder/iWeb/Triangle%20PolySteel/WhatIsPolySteel.html
    In iWeb, all links are good to go, no overlapping, etc. Curiously enough, on this page, there are even more dysfunctional hyperlinks with those image boxes.
    Any further thoughts?

  • Image with hyperlink

    In iWeb you can have an image as a hyperlink [email url file etc]. It would appear that in iBooks Author you can only have text as a hyperlink. If that is not the case then how would you turn a 'facebook' icon [*.jpg] into a webpage hyperlink?

    Thanks for the prompt help very much appreciated. I guess this is really an issue for the Apple developers given that they delivered the functionality in iWeb it is difficult to understand why it was not delivered in iBA Ant..

  • Insert Image and Hyperlink

    After installing Dreamweaver CS3 a few months and having no
    real problems since, suddenly, whenever I click INSERT>IMAGE an
    image placeholder holder appears, rather than the usual dialogue
    window that used to pop up asking me to select my image. And at the
    same time, now when I click INSERT>HYPERLINK a"#" sign appears
    in my document. That's it! It just seemed to start out of the blue.
    Anybody else ever have Dreamweaver get sick like that?

    Jinifer,
    Fix by Hyperlinking with Text rather than the Graphic. If the graphic has a title, you can use that. Or, you can create a Text Box, create the Hyperlink in the text box text, and then set the text color to transparent and place it over the graphic. Then, when you click on the graphic, you will click the hyperlinked text first and your goal is achieved.

  • Images with hyperlinks

    We send out emails with an image in the body of the email where the text usually is, and I wondered if there is any way to incorporate hyperlinks on the image.

    An image converted to an interactive button with an action going to an URL, I guess would be considered an image map. But you can not export directly into a format that would be useable for an email... or am I missing something?
