  • How to do implement the FrameAccess.java code in my project

    Iam doing an project in java for inserting the videos into oracle9i and searching the inserted videos using the frames of the videos inserted.I have done the project to insert and search the videos.But i have been asked to put an EXTRACT button to extract all the frames of the video being inserted.Please help me to implement the FrameAccess.java coding in my existing coding.I have pasted my coding(VideoInsert.java) and FrameAccess.java(used to extract frames) coding.
    The VideoInsert.java when executed will contain browse button to choose the video file(only .mpg files) to be inserted into the database.After selecting the file and when we press open button in the Open dialog box,the video will be played in jmf player in a separate window and the filepath of the video will be included in the textbox.Now what i need is,an extract button should be placed and when it is clicked,the frames of the corresponding selected video has to be extracted in the location where the project files are stored i.e.,the FrameAccess.java coding has to be executed.
    Please help me if anyone knows how to implement the above concept.

  • How to implement hyperlink in java using swing components

    hi.....
    pls help me to find out solution
    how to implement hyperlink in java using swing components

    I've got the same problem here.
    I want to implement a HyperlinkListener to a JLabel. (Unlike suggested above, it is only supported by JEditorPane and not JLabel)
    The goal is, that if a user clicks on a Link in a JLabel, the standard browser opens and displays that page.
    Can somebody please help?
    My ultimate goal would be to also be able to add clickable HyperLinks in ToolTip texts, but i guess that'd be even more complicated.

  • Can clock synchronization be implemented by pure java?

    I want to build a simple distributed application, whose main purpose is to synchronize the local system clock in the slave JVM with the clock in the master JVM. Can it be implemented by pure java? Or I have to use JNI to implement it?
    And although the application is mainly used in LAN, the delay of transferring the data of time is small, but is there any algorithm to minimize the difference of system clock between the master and the slave?

    No. You can not synchronize the System Clock (clock) in 100% Pure Java.
    Using The Network Time Protocol (NTP) and Java, you can access the current time from many servers around the world.
    The problem here is that you can't change the clock through Java without an interface to the actaul clock.
    Since the clock is a native component (application, service, or utility) you can't change it while being 100% Pure Java.
    That does not mean that you can't do it at all. It just will not be Pure Java. You can, however, test to see what system you are on and then adjust the method used.
    On a Windows system, the clock is set by the Control Panel applet "Date and Time." This applet can be updated using the Command Driven Interface (CDI), also known as a Command Prompt. To do this you can use the Java object Process. The parameter, a String value, should point to the location of command prompt. Then add a PrintStream object to the Process object. Send the following line (using PrintStream.println()) - "time" and "date"
    To update the time use the following line:
    time [ time ]
    Use the time format: hh:mm:sec
    To update the date use the following line:
    date [ date ]
    Use the date format: mm-dd-yy
    This will work on Windows machines (3.x, 95, 98, Me, NT, XP) MS-DOS (all versions with Date/Time capability).

  • Implementing XAdES in Java XML Digital Signature API

    Hi,
    I've got some problems with implementing XAdES standard with Java XML Digital Signature API. Below is a code (SignatureTest1), that produces a digital signature with some XAdES tags placed in <ds:Object> tag. The signature is later validated with a Validator class. Everything works fine, until I set a XAdES namespace (SignatureTest1.xadesNS="http://uri.etsi.org/01903/v1.3.2#"). In this case validation of XAdES elements fails.
    The reason of validation failture is a difference between arguments passed to a digest method when document is being signed and validated. When the document is being signed a log looks like this:
    FINER: Pre-digested input:
    2007-08-21 15:38:44 org.jcp.xml.dsig.internal.DigesterOutputStream write
    FINER: <SignedProperties xmlns:ds="http://www.w3.org/2000/09/xmldsig#" Id="SignP"></SignedProperties>
    2007-08-21 15:38:44 org.jcp.xml.dsig.internal.dom.DOMReference digest
    FINE: Reference object uri = #SignP
    2007-08-21 15:38:44 org.jcp.xml.dsig.internal.dom.DOMReference digest
    FINE: Reference digesting completed,but while validating:
    FINER: Pre-digested input:

    I believe the problem is that you are not explicitly adding the xades namespace
    attribute to the SignedProperties element before generating the signature. Thus,
    the namespace attribute is not visible when canonicalizing, but when you serialize the
    DOM tree to an output stream, (for reasons I'm not entirely sure why), the namespace
    attribute is visible and is added to the SignedProperties element, which breaks the
    signature.
    You must always explicitly add namespace attributes using the Element.setAttributeNS
    method. Try changing the following code from:
    Element SPElement = createElement(doc, "SignedProperties", null,xadesNS);
    to:
    Element SPElement = createElement(doc, "SignedProperties", null,xadesNS);
    SPElement.setAttributeNS("http://www.w3.org/2000/xmlns/", "xmlns", xadesNS);

  • How to implement effects in java sound

    I have read the programmer's guide in java sound and it said there that it can generate effects such as distortion, delay and others. I would like to implement some of those, I can already capture and play sound from a microphone but I don't know how to manipulate the data to get my desired effect. Can someone explain the content of the array of bytes? I also hope you can give me some hints or anything that could help me implement my own effect. Thanks in advance!

    going_infinity wrote:
    The contents of the double array do not exceed the range. They are mostly of -0.07 o 0.07.
    I forgot to post this code, this is how byte was transformed to a double array. I am just extending an existing codeAh, yes...that makes a lot more sense. I assumed you were reading from the line as double, and that wouldn't work. But you're already converting it, which is why everything stays in the range you'd expect.
    "Weirdness" solved.
    If I use the double array or the byte array, how can I implement some effects like echo or reverb? I understand that since the "raw data" provides amplitude, I can get it's frequency and there is some FFT involved. All I can see here is determining the pitch of the sound but still, no effects. I'm still confused on where to start. Well, it depends on the effect. I'm not an effects expert, so you'll probably want to go do some Google-ing for what all of the affects are...but I think I can explain an echo.
    Echo is a function of a variable, decay, which is how quickly an echo will fade away. From a physics perspective, think of decay as friction, it'll eventually stop a moving object.
    So, you might implement an echo kinda like the following
    for (int i = 0; i < buffer.length; i++) {
         double threshhold = 0.01;
         double decay = 0.5;
         double echo = sample;
         int j = i+1;
         while((Math.abs(echo) > threshhold) && (j < buffer.length)) {
              buffer[j++] += echo;
              echo *= decay;
    Where some decreasing-fraction of a sample is added to all samples in the future until it drops below some threshhold.
    That may or may not be an "echo" effect, necessarily, as I think that a "true" echo also has a peroid (the delay between the sound and its echo) that I'm not taking into effect, so that effect is probably more like overdrive...but it illistrates the point. You'll have to figure out what each effect "adds" or "subtracts" from the sound, and then loop-through the sound data sequentially adding the effects of the effect.

  • How to implement Warnings in Java

    Hi,
    We have an application in JDK 1.3.1 which implements business rules using the Rule Factory pattern. The methods inside the Rule classes throw business exceptions which are returned to the client.
    However, in addition to the business exceptions, we have to cater to warnings generated by these rules. Is there any typical pattern followed in Java which would generate these warnings without wrapping them in exception classes.
    Any help in this regard wud be welcome.

  • Implementing probabilities in Java

    Hi everyone,
    I'm trying to implement some Genetic Algorithm stuff, and got stuck on this probability part. Basicially, part of the algorithm is like below.
    choose the best individual from pool/tournament with probability p
    choose the second best individual with probability p*(1-p)
    choose the third best individual with probability p*((1-p)^2)
    and so on...
    Anyone knows how to implement this p efficiently in Java? Many thanks.

    Well, sure, I know how to implement that. I guess I do, you don't have that many details but I have the general idea. But when you say "efficiently" that makes me confused because I don't know what you have in mind. So, no, sorry, I don't.

  • Implementing export/import java utility

    Hi all,
    I am not sure I hit the correct forum but I'll give it a try.
    I need to write java utility that access table in one db, select some rows and copy them to a similar table in secon db - as either new rows or update to existing rows (if such rows exist).
    I thought I might use the OracleCachedRowSet to get data from one DB and to write data from another.
    Basically the code looks like....:
    Connection connSrc = null;
    ResultSet rsSrc;
    OracleCachedRowSet crs;
    try
    Class.forName("jdbc:oracle:thin:@myHOST:1521:DBNAME");
    connSrc = DriverManager.getConnection(srcDriver, USER, PWD);
    stmtSrc = connSrc.createStatement();
    rsSrc = stmtSrc.executeQuery("SELECT * FROM MYTBL");
    crs = new OracleCachedRowSet();
    crs.populate(rsSrc);
    crs.setUrl("jdbc:oracle:thin:@myHOST2:1523:DBNAME2");
    crs.setUsername("USER2");
    crs.setPassword("PWD2");
    crs.setCommand("SELECT * FROM " + RULETBL);
    crs.acceptChanges();
    The second table was empty but it did not get populated with the rows from first DB,
    I thought this might have to do with the SyncProvider issue that needs to implement the GRADE_NONE but I don't know if this is indeed the problem and where to get such sync provider implementation.
    I'll be glad to get any assistance.
    Regards,
    Avi

    Hi ,
    Many thanks for helping here.
    I thought I'd get suggestions like that...:-) It is dectated that I'll do this task using Java code. I can't even use system call to EXP/IMP utilities as anyhow I need to analyze all rows that matches the result of the SELECT command in order to access some specific information on specific column. Although I do know some column names (for that specific need) - I don't want to keep the knowledge of the row columns - as the table shema might be altered localy by our customers (usually additional columns) or from version to version of the software that usually deals with it.
    As conclusion of the above I need to use JDBC or something similar (Hibernate, JDO etc.).

    Avi

  • Custom Policy implementation when using Java Web Start.

    Hi,
    I hope it's okay for me to make a 'look here' type of post.
    I'm having some trouble related to JAAS and Java Web Start and have made a post about it in the Web Start forums. I haven't had much luck in the Web Start forums and I don't want to make a duplicate post here, so here's a link:
    http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=756178
    If anyone has any suggestions please reply in the Web Start thread.

    If you implement your own classloader, and then still run with a SecurityManager installed, then your ClossLoader is responsible for asigning the permissions to the code it loads.
    You need your ClassLoader to extend SecureClassLoader, and implement the method :
    SecureClassLoader.getPermissions(CodeSource cs) to return the PermissionCollection you want.

  • Enum - core java II example

    hi
    the following code is an example taken from 'core java II'-book.
    what i don't understand is where the enum constructor is called
    to set the abbreviation field
    anyone care to explain ?
    thanks
    import java.util.*;
    public class EnumTest {
        public static void main(String[] args) {
            Scanner in = new Scanner(System.in);
            System.out.print("Enter a size: (SMALL, MEDIUM, LARGE, EXTRA_LARGE) ");
            String input = in.next().toUpperCase();
            Size size = Enum.valueOf(Size.class, input);
            System.out.println("size=" + size);
            System.out.println("abbreviation=" + size.getAbbreviation());
            if (size == Size.EXTRA_LARGE) {
                System.out.println("Good job--you paid attention to the _.");
    enum Size {
        SMALL("S"), MEDIUM("M"), LARGE("L"), EXTRA_LARGE("XL");
        private Size(String abbreviation) {
            this.abbreviation = abbreviation;
        public String getAbbreviation() {
            return abbreviation;
        private String abbreviation;
    }

    so from what i get here is that
    SMALL("S"),MEDIUM("M"),LARGE("L"); are the constructors from where abbreviations are taken.
    I want to clear one more doubt.
    private Size(String abbreviation) {
            this.abbreviation = abbreviation;1. This is also a constructor right ? If yes then, what was the need that the author made this constructor private ?
    2. Why public modifier is not allowed there ?
    3. Size s = Enum.valueOf(Size.class,input);Over here what is the role of argument Size.class ?
    4. enum size
    Size s = Enum.valueOf(Size.class,input);In the first code enum's e is small but in the second code Enum's E is capital. How so ?

  • How to implement login by java integrate with AD LDS?

    Hi admin:
        Now we have a web project and the customer have an LDAP includes the all system login account. we need to integrate with the LDAP to implement the account login.
        First I flow the general implement method, enter the username and password on the login page, summit to one backend controller by post, according to the username to search out the result record, but the userPassword property can not be
    returned, I searched and found some message on microsoft forum, the userPassword can not be searched.
        Please give me some suggestion that according to the requirement how to implement the account logio .
    thanks.

    I am not a developer but might this helps you - http://www.java-forums.org/advanced-java/28975-ldap-bind-mechanism-java.html.
    You do not have to search for the password, because you already used it for the bind, if I understood your post correctly. Plus you have it already from your webform. And last but not least if any directory server or application would give you the passwords
    that way it would be a bad security practice.

    How To Ask Questions The Smart Way
    Eric Steven Raymond
    Rick Moen
    Write in clear, grammatical, correctly-spelled language
    We've found by experience that people who are careless and sloppy writers are usually also careless and sloppy at thinking and coding (often enough to bet on, anyway). Answering questions for careless and sloppy thinkers is not rewarding; we'd rather spend our time elsewhere.
    So expressing your question clearly and well is important. If you can't be bothered to do that, we can't be bothered to pay attention. Spend the extra effort to polish your language. It doesn't have to be stiff or formal - in fact, hacker culture values informal, slangy and humorous language used with precision. But it has to be precise; there has to be some indication that you're thinking and paying attention.
    Spell, punctuate, and capitalize correctly. Don't confuse "its" with "it's", "loose" with "lose", or "discrete" with "discreet". Don't TYPE IN ALL CAPS; this is read as shouting and considered rude. (All-smalls is only slightly less annoying, as it's difficult to read. Alan Cox can get away with it, but you can't.)
    More generally, if you write like a semi-literate b o o b you will very likely be ignored. So don't use instant-messaging shortcuts. Spelling "you" as "u" makes you look like a semi-literate b o o b to save two entire keystrokes.
