Implement Survey Application using Siebel

Hi there,
We are looking to an option to implement a few web surveys using Siebel. Is Siebel a good candidate?
I saw SmartScript has some functionalities for question/answers. Can I use it to design a web survey? Is there any limitation?
Would you also recommend some readings?

Hi,
Smartscript can be used for web surveys but you need to check if the web survey is accessed through internet then you need to use Standard Interactivity Object Manager like eMarketing. This will surely limit your options for customization if required. If you are going for a straightforward implementation then it is fine else you should do a PoC.

Survey Application with mutli-lingual

Hello,
I am planning to build a survey application using ADF/JSF. This is my first venture into JSF. This application should be multi-lingual, i.e. text should be both in English and Arabic.
My questions is will arabic is supported with ADF/JSF in JDeveloper 10.1.3?

Using the Survey Application with Servlets

I installed Survey application which demonstrate the servlet
architecture.
The application works well with Jdevelopper 2.0
The connection with the database server works.
I installed the Sun Java Web Server 1.1.3 on my PC.
The Java Web administrator works fine. I registered the 2
servlets on the administrator but the JDBC connection failed.
I obtained this resulting error page when try to use the
SDSessionServlet
500 Internal Server Error
The servlet named "oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver", at the
requested URL
http://gvawsgcf:8080/servlet/SDSessionServlet
reported this exception:
oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver
The administrator of this web server should resolve this problem.
What shall I do?

server.
Goto Help system.
In the "tutorials" book you will find a subtopic "Servlet
Tutorial" which has help on configuring java web server.
The other place is in the "Sample Applications" book you will
find a sub topic "web application for Oracle 8i" which has help
on deploying the servlet to java web server.
You will find these examples useful in configuing your env.

How can I develop a web application using EJB design pattern?

I have searched over the web and found quite a lot of tutorials on how to use the EJB design pattern.
I know that there will be a home interface, EJB object interface and a SessionBean.
But the tutorials often only cover a single class, this made me unable to get a complete picture of how EJB design pattern can be implemented into a whole system.
I am now required to devleop an online shopping web application using EJB and JSP page.
I think I will need to create a lot of classes: Member, ShoppingCart, Product...etc.
What I want to ask is that, do I need to create a home interface, EJB object interface and a SessionBean for each of these classes?
I really need some ideas on how to develop this system using EJB + JSP pages.

Problem in navigation of portletized JSf application using ADF on portal

Hi All,
I am implementing a simple scenario wherein i have an ADF Business Component (a simple drop down) and a command button. On click of the button, there is a navigation from one jsp to another.
I am able to portletize a simple application using ADF Business Component.It runs fine when run on local.
But when i put it on portal, navigation does not work.the control is not transferred to the method of backing bean.It is not showing loggers either.
jdev version :10.1.3.3
oracle portal :10.1.4
Standalone OC4j : 10.1.3
If any one has working model of this, can you pls post the files used.
Also , if anyone has work around for same, it will be helpful.Thanks.

Best way To get data from another application using NDDE lbrary

My vb.net application gets data from another application using NDDE Library. I got stocks prices (open,high,low,close,volume,change......(about 15 records for each stock)) (about 200 stocks) . I don't know if there is a problem in my code.

According to your description, you'd like to get data from another app using NDDE library.
When using the NDDE library, the CPU usage is high. As the NDDE library is third-party library, it is not supported here. I suggest you checking if the problem is caused by the NDDE library.
If you'd like to get data from another app. I suggest you could save the data in the dataBase, and then read it in another application if necessary.

Issues in ADF mobile application using Trinidad components

I am facing the following issues when developing a mobile application using trinidad components :
Jdev version : 11.1.1.6
1) I dont see a date component using trinidad components? The dev guide http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/web.1111/e10140/sup_comp.htm says that tr:inputDate is supported but when i try to drag a data field to jsf page i don't see an option for Trinidad date component. so i went ahead and created an af:inputDate in the page. But the date selection dialog doesnt open up.
2) i tried using 'Rendered' for conditional rendering of a component but it does not work or refresh immediately, the same problem is solved in my adf application using visible property but looks like there is no 'Visible' property for Trinidad components. any work around?
3) i wanted to have a 'create insert' call in my task flow before launching the page. Since Task flows are not supported in ADF mobile application, i have added 'ADF Faces' also into my project and created task flow and jsff page as i do for a adf web application the only diff being the usage of trinidad components in my jsff page. is this fine? How to create ViewModel in an MVVM application using entity framework where database has many-to-many relationship?

I have started developing a small application in WPF. Since I am completely new to it, to start with I took a microsoft's sample available at
Microsoft Sample Application and following the pattern of the sampke I have been so far successful in creating four different views for their corresponding
master tables. Unfortunately, I have got stuck up as the sample does not contain pattern for creating ViewModel when there is a many-to-many relationship in the database. In my application, I have the following data structure:
1. Table Advocate(advId, Name)
2. Table Party (partyId, Name)
3 Table Case (caseId, CaseNo)
4. Link Table Petitioner (CaseId, PartyId)
5. Link Table Respondent (CaseId, PartyId)
6. Link Table EngagedAdvocate(CaseId, advId)
7. Link Table EngagedSrAdvocate(CaseId, advId)
In the scenario above, I am a bit confused about how to go forward creating the required ViewModel which would render me to have multiple instances of Petitioners, Respondents, Advocates and SrAdvocates.
Please explain details in step by step manner considering that whatever work I have completed so far is a replica of Microsoft's sample referred above. I would also like to mention that I have developed my application
using VB.net. So please provide solution in vb.net.
After getting many-to-many relationship introduced into my application, it would achieve one level above the sample application and I would like to share with the community so that it could be helpful to many aspiring developers seeking help with MVVM.

I would suggest you referring to Magnus's article, it provides an example of how you could display and let the user edit many-to-many relational data from the Entity Framework in a dynamic and data-bound DataGrid control in WPF:

I am trying to install a .Net application using ClickOnce technology. The software is hosted on a webserver and is installed on my local machine. After downloading the package, the installer exits without a message. On checking the windows event logs,I get

I have tried it on other systems where the application can be deployed succesfully, so the package on server is not corrupt.
Using Windows 8 64-bit, IE 10 RTM
I did check some posts, but could not find anything relevant. Can you point me in the right direction?
P.S. I do not have developer access to modify the package, but have admin access on my machine.

As you can't modify the package, I suggest you checking if the application can be executed well in your win8 machine without the installer. You could get the application, run it directly in your machine. then check if it would be corrupt.
If it still be corrupt, I'm afraid that you have to access to modify the package to make it compliant with win8 64-bit.

Hey tell me one thing your BAPI having CURD methods. See you are getting data from BAPI and pull the data in Table in WDJ. So if u can do any action it will comes trough BAPI.
If your BAPI having CURD methods. You can implement CURD methods in WDJAVA also.

Building a best practice web application using ColdFusion and Jave EE

I've been tasked with rewriting a software using ColdFusion. I cannot seem to find a lot of information on best practice development in ColdFusion. I am an experience Java developer who has never used ColdFusion before. I want to build this application using a synergy of ColdFusion and Java EE technologies. Can someone recommend me a book that outlines how to developer in ColdFusion? Ideally this book assumes the reader is an experienced developer with no exposure to ColdFusion. Ideally the methods outlined in the book are still "best practice" methods.
