Implementation of one request, multiple responses bpel processes

Need info on how to build a one request, multiple responses bpel processes. The following URL discusses the link
http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14571_01/integration.1111/e10224/bp_interact.htm#SOASE534
Book: Oracle® Fusion Middleware Developer's Guide for Oracle SOA Suite 11g Release 1 (11.1.1)
Chapter 5: Introduction to Interaction Patterns in a BPEL Process (section 5.6).
Are two projects required? is one a partner link to the other?
There are several different types of links discussed but minimal/no discussion on their implementation.
Thanks for the help - Casey

  • Want to get request number to BPEL process in an interval

    Hi All,
    I have two applications A and B.I need to receive request message from A to B through BPEL process. BPEL process receives the request data(through schema- Source of transform activity) from A and updates that data into B(Target -request schema of B).BPEL process is the middleware between two applications
    My requirement is :
    I want to analize request data in an interval of 24 hours. I have one parameter('sequence') in the request schema of B which has to indicate the request number to BPEL process.
    Clear explanation to requirement details:
    Application A starts pushing data at 12 'o clock(0:00 hrs midnight) and then parameter 'sequence' should be integer 1 or 0.Like that 'Sequence' should be increased by 1 for every request to BPEL process.
    I want the sequence values like below(for 24 hrs cycle):
    First request :
    Reuqest push time - 0:00 hrs
    Sequence - 1
    BPEL process instance(which will be created automaically in EM console) - Instance1
    Second Request :
    Reuqest push time - 1:30 hrs
    Sequence - 2
    BPEL process instance(which will be created automaically in EM console) - Instance2
    1
    Third Request:
    Reuqest push time - 4:00 hrs
    Sequence - 3
    BPEL process instance(which will be created automaically in EM console) - Instance3
    Like that
    last request in 24 hrs cycle should be :
    Reuqest push time - 23:00 hrs
    Sequence - Some number according to number of requests at that time.
    After 24 hrs ,Sequence again should become as 1 to indicate the starting point of the 24 hrs next day.(like data in above table)
    Can you help me in this regard? I am using transform activity in which I have 'sequence' parameter .
    Thanks in advance

    Create a "While" activity.
    Create a variable named seq of type int.
    In the while condition check the current time.
    xp20:current-time() < <counter reset time>
    Create a pick activity to receive the message inside while loop.
    Create assign activity in the while loop. Assign the value of variable seq to the payload and increment it by one.
    Outside while loop , reset seq back to 0 by using another assign activity.
    In case the composite has to run continuously after first submission, use another outer while loop to check the condition while seq = 0.
    Hope it helps.
    Regards.

  • Aborting multiple hanging BPEL processes in bulk

    Hi,
    Is tehre a way to stop multiple hanging BPEL process in one shot, without shutting down the server..
    I went thro' the following url but dunno if i can use any command for this..
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B25221_04/core.1013/b15976/opmnctl.htm#i1026430
    Thanks,
    Vishnupriya

    Hi,
    i guess i din't frame the question correctly.. I want to abort few open instances of various BPEL processes, not retire or turn off the BPEL processes.. apologies for making the question ambigous.. I went thro' the the link u had specified and found that, it was about retiring/turning off/undeploying multiple BPEL processes. I actually want to abort the running instances of BPEL processes..
    Thanks,
    Vishupriya

    While the Oracle SOA Suite is running; it runs as a specific user; mostly 'oracle' on unix systems. This means that under this user it access the FTP adapter. What is you oc4j-ra.xml look like? Are you able to connect from this user on the server to you ftp-account?

  • Issues with one way invocation in BPEL Process

    We have a synchronous BPEL Process that invokes that calls a one-way BPEL Process.It was working fine. But now we are encountering a intermittent issue in Production
    We could see that the synchronous BPEL Process is invoking the One way BPEL Process and getting completed. But we could see no instance is created for the one way BPEl Process.
    Its a critical issue we are encountering . Your help is highly appreciated.

    I suppose, any unhandled exception in the one-way BPEL process could have caused rollback of the instance and hence the instance might not be seen. Add fault handlers-catch/catch-all blocks in the one-way BPEL process if not done already, and test.

  • Problem in invoking a BPEL process with complex input

    Hi,
    I have an asynchronous BPEL process which has a complex request schema. When I try to invoke the process through BPEL Console, it works properly. But when invoking it through Java API, it seems that the input soap message is not well received by the process. Here are relevant files:

    *=========*
    Please tell me if you know how to solve it. Thanks

    It sounds very much like a namespace issue.
    As it works from the BPELConsole, fill in the values in the BPELConsole initiate page and switch from the HTML to the XML view. Copy the XML to Notepad or another suitable editor; then insert it as fixed values into the Java/JSP code and try to call the server with the hardcoded payload instead of the one you are generating.
    You can also save the payload in the JSP (write it to a file or standard output) before the call; then open it in jDeveloper or Eclipse and validate it against the schema. That way you will find if the XML is invalid.
    Also, check the flow in the BPELConsole. As it fails on an XPath expression you must have a process. If you click on the receive activity you can see the received payload. Again, copy that to jDeveloper or Eclipse and validate it. Also compare it to the XML you get if you initiate the process manuallly. There must be some difference.
    If you still can't get it to work, post the XML from the initiate operation and from the JSP operation (as they are seen in the receive activity) and we can help you check them out!

    But I'm getting an exception. I'm in deep trouble please help me. Urgent

    Yeah ..This is my final project for my masters degree.
    I'm integrating BPEL with GIS(Geographic Information System) webservices provided by ESRI(Arcweb services). My main BPEL process that I built follows this sample example. The problem is that I need to show a working client application within 2 days or else my project is termed as incomplete and my graduation will be postponed to next semester. :(
    I tried your advice, as soon as I add a Java code to my BPEL process, the application is taking longer time to execute in the BPEL console itself.
    <bpelx:exec xmlns:bpelx="http://schemas.oracle.com/bpel/extension" language="java" version="1.4" name="exec-1">
    <![CDATA[setConversationId("output");]]>
    </bpelx:exec>
    So after the thread sleep the webservice is not ready to give its output.
    Just a quick thought, I assumed that if I attach the output of the my Invoke(Client) to a Reply activity,which will make it a two way operation.
    Then I could use,
    NormalizedMessage res = deliveryService.request("SpatialQuery", "initiate", nm);
    will work.
    I assigned the ouput of the Invoke(Client) to the variable in Reply activity.
    But my reply activity is throwing a NULL pointer exception.
    This is my BPEL code:
    <sequence name="main">
              <receive name="receiveInput" partnerLink="client" portType="tns:InvokeTest" operation="initiate" variable="input" createInstance="yes"/>
              <assign name="assign-1">
                   <copy>
                        <from variable="input" part="payload" query="/nsxml0:InvokeTestRequest/nsxml0:username"></from>
                        <to variable="IsaInput" part="parameters" query="/nsxml0:getToken/nsxml0:username"/>
                   </copy>
                   <copy>
                        <from variable="input" part="payload" query="/nsxml0:InvokeTestRequest/nsxml0:password"></from>
                        <to variable="IsaInput" part="parameters" query="/nsxml0:getToken/nsxml0:password"/>
                   </copy>
              </assign>
              <invoke name="invoke-1" partnerLink="Authentication" portType="nsxml0:IAuthentication" operation="getToken" inputVariable="IsaInput" outputVariable="IsaOutput"/>
              <assign name="assign-2">
                   <copy>
                        <from variable="IsaOutput" part="parameters" query="/nsxml0:getTokenResponse/nsxml0:Result"></from>
                        <to variable="output" part="payload" query="/nsxml0:InvokeTestResponse/nsxml0:token"/>
                   </copy>
              </assign>
              <reply name="reply-2" partnerLink="client" portType="tns:InvokeTest" operation="initiate" variable="output"/>     </sequence>
    I really appreciate your patience and help.

              appData1.setMaxSize(400);
              appData1.setLOB(false);
         appData1.setDefaultValue("Project Default value");
              procADMap1.put(appData1.getName(), appData1);
              setVariableData("request","createNs","/createNs/namespaceData/appdataDef",procADMap1);
    Then I am passing request object to the method which I want to invoke from bpel process.
    I am able to deploy the application but when I do post message I am getting following exception,
    NamespaceWithMap (createNamespace) (faulted)

    Is there any other way to handle Map type in bpel process?
    Thanks in advance,
    Sanjay

    Thanks for the quick reply.Actually the web service is already deployed on the server.What I want to do is use existing wsdl file of the deployed web service and invoke the method of the same using oracle PM.
    If I remove element which uses apachesoap:Map type it just works fine also I am getting the complex object returned by the web service method.But when I try to set appDataDef which is of type apachesoap:Map(Axis conversion for java.util.Map and it uses namespace xmlns:apachesoap="http://xml.apache.org/xml-soap") I am getting the error.
    Can you give me some direction to use this exising wsdl file to set map object or it is not possible.

  • How To Integrate BPEL Process Into Oracle Weblogic Portal 10.3

    Hi All,
    I have bpel process which which has db adapters and Human Work Flow. I need to integrate this bpel process [ created using Oracle SOA Suite 10131] with Oralce weblogic portal 10.3
    Please let me know how to achieve this.
    Thanks,
    Irfan Khan

    Hi All,
    I tried to call my BPEL Process thru JSP.
    This is how my JSP looks like:
    <%@ page language="java" contentType="text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1"
    pageEncoding="ISO-8859-1"%>
    <%@ page import = "com.oracle.bpel.client.Locator" %>
    <%@ page import = "com.oracle.bpel.client.NormalizedMessage" %>
    <%@ page import = "com.oracle.bpel.client.dispatch.IDeliveryService" %>
    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd">
    <html>
    <head>
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1">
    <title>InvokeHelloBPELProcess</title>
    </head>
    <body>
    <%
    String name = request.getParameter("name");
    if(name == null) name = "HelloBPEL";
    String xml = "<name xmlns=\"http://xmlns.oracle.com\">"+name+"</name>";
    // Connect to the default BPEL domain using Locator
    // Please set the password (bpel is initial password)
    Locator locator = new Locator( "default", "welcome1" );
    IDeliveryService deliveryService =
    (IDeliveryService)locator.lookupService
    (IDeliveryService.SERVICE_NAME);
    //Construct the normalized messaged and send it to the oracle BPEL PM
    NormalizedMessage nm = new NormalizedMessage();
    System.out.println(" -=-=-=-=-=-=-= XML: "+ xml);
    //attach the payload to the NormalizedMessage
    nm.addPart("payload", xml);
    //Post the message to the HelloBPEL process
    deliveryService.post("HelloBPEL", "initiate", nm);
    out.println("The BPEL process HelloBPEL initiated!!!");
    %>
    </body>
    </html>
    Now once i invoke this JSP page I am getting the 500 internal server error.
    The error message is :
    java.lang.Exception: Failed to create "ejb/collaxa/system/DeliveryBean" bean; exception reported is: "javax.naming.NameNotFoundException: While trying to lookup 'ejb.collaxa.system/DeliveryBean' didn't find subcontext 'collaxa'. Resolved 'ejb'; remaining name 'collaxa/system/DeliveryBean'
    Here I have some doubts:
    1) If xml payload that I am passing is correct?
    2) In Locator, do I need to pass 'domain' along with 'password' as my password or it will always be "bpel". i.e.,
    a) Locator locator = new Locator( "default", <password> );
    OR
    b) Locator locator = new Locator( "default", "bpel" );
    Please let me know how to solve this error. I doubt that my xml payload constructed is wrong. could you tell me what is the correct xml payload for below BPEL process WSDL file:

  • Two FTPAdapters triggers one BPEL-Process in Cluster

    I have defined two ftp-adapters getting two different csv-files (different file structures) of the ftp-server. These ftp-adapters triggering a bpel-process starting with a pick-activity containing two onmessage-branches. In the first onmessage-branch there is a transformation transforming format A into a common format. In the second onmessage-branch there is a transformation transforming format B into a common format. With this common format some other actions are processed (not relevant for this problem).
    Because i have a clustered environment (cluster of two soa-suite installations 10.1.3.1) i want only one clusternode triggering my bpel-process. so i set the property clusterGroupId of the activationAgent inside of the bpel.xml. Because i have two triggering ftp-adapters i defined two different clusterGroupIds to prevent to have a influence between this two ftp-adapters.
    The problem is that the application-server now is logging every second the following warning and i don't know if this is a problem or not. both ftp-adapter works fine but i think it will not work in cluster.

    I have also tried to use only one clusterGroupId but if i do so only one ftp-adapter is initiating my bpel-process. so why does this usecase does not work with using one clusterGroupId???

    Hi,
    I am also seeing the same warn messages. And on our production we got OutOfMemory exception. Is there any setup we need to change to get rid of this error message? did you get the solution?

  • How to implement runtime monitor for Netbeans BPEL process?

    Hi,
    I wish to implement a runtime monitor for a BPEL process. I want the monitoring program to let user interactions as well as display qualitative attributes (performances) of each member web service.
    Could someone give me a direction or helpful tools in Net-beans environment? Any help is highly appreciated.

    Hi,
    I will provide a little specification about the concepts to remove some confusion.
    This mailing list is about JBI the specification. Not about any Sun product.
    I suggest we take subsequent discussion to the users@openesb mailing list.
    https://open-esb.dev.java.net/MailingLists.html
    - OpenESB is the product which includes a BPEL Runtime Engine.
    http://wiki.open-esb.java.net/
    http://wiki.open-esb.java.net/Wiki.jsp?page=BPELSE
    - Glassfish (the appserver) contains some of the core OpenESB pieces. Which is why you see the BPEL engine without installing openesb.
    - NetBeans has plugins to develop artefacts for OpenESB components. This includes a BPEL editor.
    - Sometimes you get pieces of OpenESB development tools and runtime tools in Glassfish and NetBeans without installing OpenESB.
    - This causes confusion for many people. Including yourself.
    Although you are developing and running in NetBeans and Glassfish, you are really using the OpenESB BPEL engine.
    To answer your question, yes it is possible to do what you want.
    This links I provided previously show how to monitor the openesb bpel engine. This is what you are using.

  • Single instance of a BPEL process

    Hi,
    We are using BPEL 10.1.3.3.0 for integration between a vendor product and Oracle E-Business Suite.
    Is there a way of ensuring that only one instance of the BPEL process is active at any one time?
    The reason behind this is because the process takes data from the vendor system using a db adapter and calls a PL/SQL procedure to validate and call Oracle APIs to update base tables. We need to be able to guarantee the order of processing to ensure the latest data is written to Oracle.
    We have been experiencing the situation where multiple instances of the BPEL process are initiated at once, and causing out of order processing resulting in duplicate data being written to Oracle, and out of order updating causing out of date information overriding the latest data.
    We are using a database adapter to poll a table for new records. The delete polling strategy removes records after being read. Up to 1000 records can be read in each instance. The polling interval is 60 seconds.
    Cheers,
    Will

    Thanks Eric.
    I have almost got it working, except that when I initiate multiple instances of the Singleton Accessor, some instances remain waiting forever for a response.
    Have you been able to work through this example with success?
    Cheers,
    Will

  • "Default" attribute in XML not getting populated in BPEL process

    Hi.
    I have a SOA 11g composite that listens to an inbound MQ (using JMS Adapter), which handovers the request to a BPEL process.
    In the input xml, some of the elements have "default" attribute. So, if the user doesnot populate these values in the input, it should be populated with the default values.
    But in BPEL Process when I read these values, it comes as null instead of the default value.
    Could some one help me out if there is a way to handle this?

    Hi,
    Please check if you have some values in ZMATRL2 while data laod to CUbe.
    If yes , then run and attribute change run for ZMATRL2.
    Also check if you have daat laoded for ZMATRL2 where we have its attribute ZCMARKET values corresponding to ZMATRL2T.
    These are are probable reasons why u cannot see navigations attribute data.
    Thanks

  • DOS 11g SOA have the Locator API's - How to Invoke a BPEL process from Java

    In BPEL 10.1.3.1, a java client could use the "Locator" API's to look up a BPEL service and invoke it directly from Java,
    Is that still present in SOA 11g ? Or is there another way to look up the BPEL process ...
    Here's an example of the 10g BPEL Service locator facilities :
    Get the BPEL service locator. This is retrieved as follows:
    loc = new Locator(domain, domainPassword);
    The initial installation BPEL domain is "domain" and the initial password is "bpel". We then use the locator to get the delivery service. We could also use the locator to retrieve the workflow service.
    IDeliveryService svc = (IDeliveryService)loc.lookupService(IDeliveryService.SERVICE_NAME);
    Now we have the delivery service we can "deliver" requests to the BPEL process. To do this we first need to create a new message.
    NormalizedMessage msg = new NormalizedMessage();
    String content = "<SyncHelloWorldProcessRequest xmlns=\"http://antony.blog/SyncHelloWorld\">"+
    "<input>"+
    name+
    "</input>"+
    "</SyncHelloWorldProcessRequest>";
    msg.addPart(msgPart, content);

    Can you please tell me how to include adf binding.ws in composite.xml ? My composite.xml for your ref:

    Eric, when I select the BPEL wsdl file in "Create Web Service Data Control" wizard, immediately I am getting the error. When I click 'OK', the 'Service' dropdown is disabled and blank in the wizard.
    Thanks for pointing to the sample application URL. But it is built in jdev 10g. Can I migrate it to 11g?
    Thanks both of you!

  • Oracle BPEL Process Manager- latest API and developer's documentation.

    This is regarding Oracle BPEL Process Manager.
    I'm planning to integrate the same, for review or prototype purpose, so need to know about the API documentation and developer's guide if available.
    The API documentation available seems to be inadequate as it does not document the collaxa APIs (for example) so need to know any documentation available to integrate Oracle BPEL Process Manager as workflow engine.
    What I'm looking for is the API documentation, developers guide for integrating Oracle BPEL Process Manager APIs etc.
    Developer's guide to manage the development of business process lifecycle of deploying, executing and managing business processes programmatically, using the Oracle BPEL Process Manager, v2.0.11 API Specification.

    For the Java API, please take a look at the Java Doc in c:\orabpel\docs. You can also learn about those API by looking at the implementation of the BPEL console (given that the BPEL console is built mostly on the public API of the engine. There are also a few tutorials (02.Invoking A BPEL Process) which highlight how one can invoke a BPEL process through the Java API both locally and remotely).
