Implementation order of  HR module

Hi
Is that necessary to implement in order or is there link between each module.
what r the basic modules to be implemented first in SAP HR.
If PA and OM r the basic, then it is necessary to implement recruitment module also.
Thanks
Archana

No, PA and OM are the basics modules. Then you can implement recruitement, payroll, times, flex benefits, etc.

  • Open return orders in sd module

    hi all,
can any one explain me wht are open return orders in sd module and also credit memo issued for opem return order and goods receipt processed against the delivery.
if possible can u explain me with example.
                                         thanks

    Hi Dilip,
    1. Return orders are created with reference to sales orders which have been rejected due to some reasons. There are many reasons as to why a sales order is rejected like incorrect deliveries, Damages during transits, Delayed deliveries, etc. Before the finance department processes them these return orders are blocked by applying a billing block. Such documents which havent been cleared by the finance department are called Open Return Orders.
A credit memo is released by the vendor based upon pre sales agreements since the customer has to be paid for the return orders.
    Ex:
Lets assume there is a textile company. They have three Plants producing Textiles at three different locations (A, B and C). They get raw material like dyes, buttons and zips from third party supplier. An agreement was made with the supplier to send a consignment of 100 Litres of Dye and 10 Cartons of buttons to Plant B. A sales order (SD01) was created based on this consignment. But the Dye reaches plant C instead of Plant B. So a return order is created for the sales order (SD01) and a billing block is applied to it. Then the return order is considered to be open for review. Once the finance guys validate the document and approve it the order is closed and released.
Once that is received by the Vendor he issues a credit memo to the Textiles company since he has to cover for the wrong deliveries and loss of production hours.
I hope your doubt is cleared, Reward if helpful.

    HI Manoja,
    a) Integration between Sales Order and  Inventory module.
While creating sales order due to Strategy group in MRP3 view of material master does an availability check and determines the first date of availability.
b)Integration between delivery and  Inventory module.
At the time of PGI (Goods issue)
Cost of Goods Sold is debited due to configuration in OBYC GBB T-Key To Inventory Account
c)Integration between Invoice and FI module.
In account assignment(that reminds me of your previous que CONDITION TECHNIQUE is used for Account Determination as well)
    Tcode VKOA
Also when Billing document is released to Accounting
Customer Account is debited for the amount in Invoice.
and credited to Sales Revenue Account
Hope this clarifies to some extent
    Post for further clarification

  • Order the FAQ module questions

I am trying to order the FAQ module questions in Business Catalyst.
It puts them in alphabetical order by default so I numbered them. But once it gets to 10 it obviously goes out of order.
And the client does not want to put a letter in front. ie A, B, C
Any ideas on how to acheive this?
    Thanks in advance.

Try leaving numerical gaps in your weighting scheme so you have future flexibility.
For example, I like to use the weightings of 1000, 900, 800, 700 and so on.
Then I have a LOT of wiggle room to add new information and sort my information the way I like.

  • Creation Of Production Order without PP module

    Hi PP guru's
There is one Specific requirment from Client side, the Requirement is
They are not supposed to implement the PP module in R/3 but they want to get generate the Production Order in R/3 through some interface with lagacy system, based on that they want GR at warehouse,They are using MTS system
They are doing all Production Planning in the exiting Lagacy system and the production Order will be created via interface from those system
for that requirment what master data are requred so that we can full fill the client requirment
    valuable suggestion will get awarded
    Thanks in advance

    Dear,
Technically speaking it is not possible You can shear same thing with your clint also --as there requirement is not specific.

  • Turnaround/Shutdown Process implementation using PS/PM modules

We are a larger Size Fertilizer Industry, currently in the process of SAP Implementation. We carry out Annual Turnarounds each year for annual maintenance / overhauling of our equipment / machines.
The total numbers of maintenance jobs are around 1500. Each Job has an average 25 Operations. The Total duration of Turnaround is 15 Days max. Due to extensive number of jobs being handled in a very short time span, we require Planning with respect Job Execution and also related to material planning / Manpower / other internal & external services resource Planning. Moreover the Budget planning / control of the Turnaround is also part of our business.
The Planning of Turnaround starts 10 months before commencement of Turnaround. Starting from finalization of maintenance Jobs, material reservations, Budget Planning, Maintenance jobs scheduling in such a way to fit in all jobs within 15 days time span and develop a logical / technical viable links (relationship) between various operations within one job as well as between different jobs. Based on this relationship critical path is identified and activity Bar Chart is generated. The entire planned Project is then freeze as our target / base line and Planned S-Curve is generated. Before commencement of Turnaround, the material availability is ensured through monitoring of material procurement from Purchase requisition to Goods receipt.
Thereafter during Turnaround, the actual progress of maintenance jobs is monitored against the target plan on 12 hourly basis. Based on this monitoring we identify the activities lagging behind the Plan so that effective actions may be taken to expedite job progress. The daily progress is updated in terms of earned progress percentage. Moreover for management overview, Planned Vs actual S-Curve is generated.
IN SAP Scenario we are planning to configure our above process through PM / PS integration. Maintenance Work orders will be created for all jobs with reference to equipment Tag number to maintain history. Moreover, material and other resources will be attached to relevant orders / operations. Relationship between orders and their operations will be maintained. We intend to attach these orders Operations to PS Moreover we require bottom up scheduling using PS Planning board as mentioned below :
Operations       Order     Activity       Network Header       WBS element        Project
We find ourselves handicapped to incorporate progress in terms of percentages, although we have managed to get percentage by putting duration of work completed on order operations level. However, getting percentage progress through duration input will not serve the purpose. Please refer following example:
u2022     An operation is planned for 100 hours.
u2022     During execution, 50% job completed in 20hours.
u2022     Remaining duration should appear as 50hours not as 80hours.
u2022     On contrary in SAP (as far as we know), if I put 50 hours in operation to get 50% progress , this will reflect wrong information as 50% job has been completed in 20 hours.
Can anybody suggest a solution in either PM,PS or combination of both modules.

you will need to use PM/PS as follows
    Create a Shut down project
Create network activities for scheduling your shut down project
Create PM orders - which could be corrective action, planned, unplanned or preventive
Assign the order headers to network activity
Now you can use the PS scheduling functionality (bottom up planning as you require) - you will also see the PM orders on the planning board
For confirmation of activites you should use the forecast hours and this will correct the POC
The POC can be rolled up using Progress Analysis for your S Curves

  • Using BADI ORDER_SAVE to implement order split?

I'm working in a CRM 4.0 system in which I need to create an order split based on sales organizations. My initial idea was to create an implementation of the BADI ORDER_SAVE in which I call the method CHANGE_BEFORE_UPDATE where I want to read the available sales order data and perform the split.
The scenario could be that a sales order comes in from internet sales or is generated directly in CRM with one line from sales organization X and one from sales organization Y. I want to read the available line item data and split the order in two orders. One for each sales organization.
I have been looking through the functions in function group CRM_ORDER_API and through the available methods for business object BUS2000115, but I cannot seem to find anything that works at the point in time where my BADI is called.
In my system one order containing two different sales organizations will fail, so an alternative might be to have a batch job running that reads the failed orders after they have been saved in CRM and splits them according to my requirements using the function module CRM_ORDER_MAINTAIN.
Would any of you CRM gurus have a suggestion to how I can implement the first scenario as I find this solution a bit more elegant than the second?
    Best regards,
    Anders

    Anders,
Another approach is the following:  Save the order generated by ISA as a different document type from the target split order.  The next step is to use the SPPFCADM action configuration to build a scheduled action that is kicked off when your document is saved(I believe you can make the order save as a triggering condition).  Then in the new action class read the document determine whether it needs to be split and generate the subsequent sales documents as needed.
The problem with splitting out the original document is that you lose track of the "logical" orginal order, and you face the issue of deleting the items from the original document.  The benefit of creating subsequent documents is that you maintain the document flow, and only have to create new orders which is much simpler.
    Good luck,
    Stephen

  • PP Module implementation with out CO Module

    Hi friends,
We are facing problem in implementing PP module because of CO areas.
Here we are not implementing CO module so we have not defined controlling areas and cost centers etc.
But we are getting problem related to CO in PP implementation.
for that we want to know what major configuration settings should we fallows (related to production planning).we are facing problem while converting planned order to process order, it is asking about controlling area. How to define a resource without cost center.
    Please tell us.
    Mr Jitendra

    Hi Jithendra,
Defining of controlling area, cost elements, cost centres are bare minimum requirements for PP - FI integration even if do not implement CO module.
Incase you have product costing requirements you will require extensive integration with CO module.

  • Forms popup help - module implementation name must equal module short name.

I don't know if this was blatanly obvious, or if it has been already stated, but just in case it wasn't, I'll state it here.
Here is something that I noticed while trying to make the help system work. I found that the module's short name is stored in the CG_FORM_HELP (or any alternative name that one may use) table. However, when the form is generated, the key-help trigger sends the module's implementation name (only on property palette) to the procedure which calls the help form. I had modules with short names differing from the implementation name, and was forced to change the implementation name to match the short name in order to make the help system work correctly.
If anyone has problems with the user/help text from their modules, module components, and items not displaying (and maybe just the user/help text from the base tables showing up), then you may want to look into this.

I forgot to state that I was using Designer 6.0 Patchset 4 (6.0.3.8).

  • Opinions on implementing a JAAS login module to achieve SSO

We are looking at implementing SSO from a sharepoint website to the portal.  The users who are accessing the Sharepoint site are using their own computers and are not members of the AD Domain, so they could theoretically be using any computer in the world to access Sharepoint.
the desired user experience looks something like this.
    user--login> sharepoint site -no login--
    >portal
One of the methods we are looking at to achieve this is to implement a custom JAAS login module that would authenticate the user if they are coming from the Sharepoint site.
I would like to get your opinions on how viable you think this method is.  One of the goals of this method is ease of implementation, so if you can think of an easier way to implement this please let us know.
    the method is basically this.
    1. User logs into sharepoint using their AD username and password and establish an active session with sharepoint
    2. user navigates to a link in sharepoint that points to a resource in the SAP Portal
    3. we don't want the user to have to login to access the resource when they click on the link
    4. to facilitate this, sharepoint has constructed the link in the following way
    5. the link is an https link
    6. the link has two additional parameters in addition to whatever is necessary to navigate to the resource
    7. the parameters are
    8. un = the users AD username
    9. uh = sha1("secret_password_known_to_both_the_login_module_and_sharepoint" + "username")
    10. the user clicks the link and is directed to the SAP portal
    11. the sap portal has a custom JAAS login module which performs it's checks before the other login modules
    12. the custom module computes ( sha1("secret_password_known_to_both_the_login_module_and_sharepoint" + un)) and then compares the result with uh, if they are equal, the custom login module authenticates the user bypassing any further need for authentication, otherwise authentication passes to the original authentication modules as normal.
If you think there is an easier way, please let us know.  We are essentially looking for the easiest/fastest way to implement this functionality that is still secure.

    Hey Gary,
I'm currently using Apache running on RedHat that leverage Apache's mod_rewrite module. I've got a bank of 6 reverse proxies sitting in front of an SAP Portal and each proxy runs on a host with dual 3.33GHz processors and 8Gb or RAM. I know... they're waaay over-sized and they pretty much snooze all day.
This is the sole entry point for all SAP users and we sized them to accommodate the "worst case" of about 5000 (potential) named users, concurrently. Realistically, we've only ever had about 1500 unique users hitting the systems in a day (following an upgrade go-live, everybody is curious and wants to log on) and a typical load of about 500 to 750 users in a day.
Never had a real performance problem to speak of. As long as the proxies are tuned properly (ssl cache, sessions, etc.), you should be fine.
Setting header variables and some other "custom stuff" is handled in Perl (need Apache's mod_perl active). We've got a script that's called by all users before being passed to the Portal.
We used IISProxy.dll with an IIS web server a long time ago (5 years maybe?) but opted to can it in favor of the approach described above.
If you ask SAP, they'll recommend you use a WebDispatcher... and that's certainly an option as well.
