Implementing Nakisa on HCM system

Hi All,
We have ERP EHP4 (HCM) and poral EHP1) systems in our landscape. Now our plan is to implement Talent Management with Trex and Nakisa. As this is a new activity for me kindly help in planning out the Implimentation of Talent Management in our Systems.
If possible please provide me with some guidelines and document to gather the information. Basicall I want to know how to go about installing the above applications in our systems.

I am using SAP identity management 7.1 and ERP ECC 6.0 EHP4. I amanage to pull data from HCM into identity store and create an account in active directory.
I am now trying to update employee data in the SAP ERP HCM system with the email address using Business Add-In (BAdI) Implementation BADI_IDM_HR_COMMUNICATION of BAdI definition BADI_EXTEND_IDENTITY.
I do not know how to call the BADI from SAP identity management.

Try to have a clear understanding of requirements and find the best solution in SAP. Keep as much as possible everything standard and based on SAP best practices.
In PA look for a comprehensive enterprise structure. It's base for everything.
DON"T do anything through development(ABAP code) as much as possible specially in PT and PY. Try to do claculation by PCRs and Schema.

ERec - Data Transfer from eRec system to HCM System

Hello All,
Currently am able to do the data transfer from eRec system to HCM system but am finding some inconsistencies here.
In our scenario we are on ehp4 and no XI in place, We are doing via RFC only. Stanalone eRec system
So here are few queries and if someone can address these would be really great and appreciate the help
1) While i do the data transfer activity, when i select activity and don not give the Hiring Date in the Org Assignment Column it throws an error "When transferring data using XI, the hiring date must be specified". But am not using XI, then why should it give this error?
Also is it not possible that i do the data transfer without any hiring date?
Also there are two options Planned and Completed. When i do the data transfer i keep it in planned status and do it it automatically saying that Complete
Is this correct
2)Now when i do the data transfer it is getting appeared in HR system when i execute the PA48 tcode.
Here my queries are
a) Suppose i do a data transfer for a candidate Abc on 10.10.2010 and run the PA48 tcode it appears in the list as hire date 10.10.2010
Now as a recruiter am again doing the data transfer for the same candidate Abc for 11.10.2010 and againg when i see PA48 there is again another entry for the Abc candidate for hiring
Is this correct process. How should these duplicate entries to be avoided. Pls help me
3) Also i case if I want additions infotypes to be transferred in PA48 how should we go for this development

Hi Dhanpal,
This is more of a functional question than a technical question. But if you can give a list of all the modules that you would like to know about, then it may be possible to get fair idea of which of them have been implemented.
For example, if you'd like to know whether SD is imploemented or not, you would look for data in tables like TVKO, VBAK, VBAP etc.,
In case of HR, you will see if there are any infotypes being used. for example tables PA0001 etc.,
In case of MM, you will look at tables like MARA etc.,
These points are by no means comprehensive. There are so many other factors that neeed to be considered. For example, if SD is implemented, then in general MM will also be implemented (may not necessairly be the case, but this is common).
The point is that we examine the Customizing Data and Master Data for each of the modules and figure out if it is being implemented.
But the easiest way is to ask the customer which ones he is implementing.

Distributed Profitability Analysis from HCM system

We have a requirement to provide a distributed profitability analysis (PA) solution (account based) from our SAP HCM system (ECC6) to our backend SAP Finance system (ECC6).
Does anybody know whether this can be done?
I have found general information relating to distributed PA scenarios but none explicitly mention HCM as the source system.
For the scenarios I have found, it mentions using message type CODCMT as part of an ALE solution. Will this apply to HCM or have we got to look at alternatives such as (for example) bespoking the std IDoc solution for the posting of payroll results to include the PA data.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Points will be allocated.

Posting a COPA document while delivery of goods (VL02N) is not a standard way of COPA value flows.
You can only transfer your billing values only at the time of VF02 and not at VL02N and even it is not logical
Because when you do post goods issue, at that point of time you are not accounting for any revenue. So it is not proper to flow the values into COPA and generate a document at goods issue
One more thing is that accounting entries are automatically generated during VL02N and you cant directly post on COPA using Direct Acct Assgn from FI/MM. It only works when you directly do an FI posting

Clone&Test tool availability for 4.6C HCM systems

Hi Experts!
We are about to migrate the personnel masterfile from a 4.6C standalone HCM system into the companie's central ECC 6.0 system.
To get rid of the problem with the collision of personnel numbers (numbers from the 4.6C system are already existing for another employee in the central ECC 6.0 system) we wan to use the tool Clone&Test from Accenture (former Pecaso).
Now we have heard from consultants that Clone&Test does only work for source systems of release 4.7 or higher but in product folders we read that the tool would be available for 4.5, 4.6, 4.7.
Has anybody there experiences with that tool and can give reliable advice? Your help is really appreciated.

We are using this tool from 2 years. It is very useful and helps a lot in data migration from system to system. Also for coping data from Productive system to Quality in case of issue where it is really important to simulate 100% the same issue, for example ECM. It transfers almost all employee data, including Payroll clusters; it transfers all OM, PD, TE data (HRP infotypes). It can anonimize data you transfer using various scenarios.
I really like the tool and it is great help in my work!
We use my SAP ERP 2004.
This year we need to migrate 1 country which uses 4.6C to the system where most countries from group are operating. The plan is that we use Clone & Test for that. As I am not directly dealing with licenses I will check with colleagues do we have confirmation from Acenture that tool can be used for 4.6C..

Your next task is depicted in the case scenario as follows:
Some remote process is able to view a directory listing of the files on the directory and then selects a JSP file to execute. It runs without any enforced permission on the server and the remote process is able to view the output or that the JSP file is executed without the proper caller - a DocIt system process (JSP, Javabean). How can we solve this problem?
For one thing the directory listing permissions should only be permitted explicitly by the server "system security/permission objects" (configured by the administrator/root) on win32/Linux. Second, all JSP files must include a security module as part of it's code base before even a single line of code is written by the programmer. This ensures that at least the caller is allowed certain permissions to execute the code residing in the JSP file. The granularity of the permissions depend directly on the type of caller. Is it a "user", a "power user", a "system admin", a "pre-defined DocIt system object" (forms subsystem), and so on. We need a powerful yet flexible security system as it is important to register the permitted objects to execute only the rightful code determined by the DocIt system security policy.
This task is less specific and thus you have more flexibility to provide a solution. Please describe and analyze a security policy to prevent any executable code from running without its proper caller for the case scenario above. Be creative in determining the requirements for identifying the calling object and the code that checks for the proper credentials before permitting execution of the code. Say you have an hierarchy of inheritable permission objects. The code must be able to check that the caller belongs to the set of permission objects. Please use diagrams, cases scenarios, and other designs to provide a basis for implementation. After the designs are reviewed along side any other requirements we will implement this security sub-system in the near future

It's probably a tad overkill for some JSP applications, but it would give you an additional layer of protection for documents, i.e., you can control access to actual files based on roles. I say it's a bit of overkill because Tomcat incorporates most of the ideas into their realms.

BW implementation for SAP HCM.

I am on a new project where they need to do HR Data Migration from PeopleSoft (Legacy System) into SAP ECC. The Client wants me to implement SAP BW (New Implementation) doing the following Functional Areas for SAP HCM:
1. Personnel Administration
2. Learning Solution Online
3. Occupational Health & Safety
4. Leave
5. Time
6. Allowances
7. Position Management
8. Organizational Structures
9. Delegations
10. Competencies
11. Payroll
12. CATS
13. Business Intelligence
This is the scope of the project.
They were using just over 600 reports from the Legacy System.
Please let me know how long does it take developing an average of 25 Reports in each of the above mentioned areas (Area-wise) including ETL (Backend) Design in SAP BW? We are also looking at using Business Object Reporting Tools moving forwards.
What is the best order of implementation of above Functional Areas?
I am to start off with a SAP BW Solution Blueprint with As-Is, To-Be (Solution and Approach). Please let me know if there are better ideas.

You first need to understand the requirement of the business first because if there are 600 reports in legacy system you no need to presume that you need to develop 600 coz of the multidimensional report of BI you can club so many requirements in to one report. And you have to decide, up to what extent the Business content reports would be helpful. If the BC report meets the requirement it is as simple as that to activate and use it. But if the BC report wont meet the business requirement then you need to estimate the efforts to develop. Here you need to keep in mind that the standard extractors would be fine or need to enhance or need to go for Generic extraction. And also the HCM reports are big tricky and lot of data issues would rise. By considering all this you need to plan the days of work to complete all the reports.

Implementing EHP4 in existing system ECC6 with EHP3

We are implementing the EHP4 in existing system ECC6 with EHP3.
I got the following error on solution manager maintenance optimizer when calculating the queue.
As per sap note : Note 1139602 - Several enhancement package releases on one system .
Now, I am upgrading all the support packs in the system to the latest level of EHP3.
While Import it encounter with DDIC_ACTIVATION
TP_STEP_FAILURE
Error message: OCS Package SAPK-60301INEAAPPL, tp step A, return
code 0008.
I have Upgraded the Kernel ann TP, R3trans to Latest but still have issue.
Kernel Release: 700
COuld you please advise.

An activation failed. check the import log in SPAM to see which object is failing and for what reason (Goto - Import Logs - Queue).

I found the solution.
I could implement a paragraph system now.
I shortly describe the most important things.
1. the spooler script should not have any carriage return
2. for a component the spooling works only with following link.

Further on, in the "Component Definitions" for this script only "spool" should be written as globbing. Not "*spool" or "spool*".
This is also the reason, why we have cc.getQualident() after spool in the img-tag.
3. Further on it is important for a paragraph system to include the following initialization.

Hi Jhe,
You have OLD and RUNNING system, and hence you can try following...
1. Initially, do not carry out any configuration changes for variant configuration. You may use the current system as it is.
2. Create necessary master data, as required for variant configuration (Material masters, config profile, BoM and routing...etc)
3. Once you are sure of your product modelling, you may get into fixing other areas like explosion of BoM and correct requirements, product costs etc)
4. After completing product modelling for all you finished products, and completeness of solution, you may plan for final activities like material-to-material transfer etc...
