Implementing Stand Alone ERM?

We are investigating the feasibility of implementing Enterprise Role Management (ERM) as a stand alone application for managing roles, documentation and workflow approvals.
Other tools are being used for provisioning and SOD analysis.  Unfortunately, implementing RAR and CUP are not options.
Has anyone had experience with running ERM without RAR and CUP?
Thanks!!!
Warm Regards,
Joe Klein

Hi Imanol,
Thank you for your response and valuable information.  That is what I suspected.  We are going to install the whole suite to make sure that any desired component is there... While we definately won't use RAR, we will configure the minimum in CUP to take advantage of the workflow engine (but not the core provisioning functionality). Some of my other contacts tell me this will work fine.
Other than not using RAR functionality with ERM, are there any other potential issues?  Thanks again!
Warm Regards,
Joe Klein

  • Need help in creating a web application that runs on a stand alone sys.

    I am planning a small java web application complete with database. I need to know if there are any ways to deploy that application on a stand alone system and that if there is any way to make an executable for that application so that the user need not go through the process of deploying the app and starting the server whenever he restarts the system. Can anyone help me in this regard? Thanks in advance.

    Hi Alex,
    Since I had a Gmail test servlet kicking around, I ran it on the latest V3 nightly build.
    On the first run, I encountered the following nested exceptions:
    javax.mail.MessagingException: Could not connect to SMTP host: smtp.gmail.com, port: 465
    --> java.net.SocketException: java.security.NoSuchAlgorithmException: Error constructing implementation (algorithm: Default, provider: SunJSSE, class: com.sun.net.ssl.internal.ssl.DefaultSSLContextImpl)
        --> java.security.NoSuchAlgorithmException: Error constructing implementation (algorithm: Default, provider: SunJSSE, class: com.sun.net.ssl.internal.ssl.DefaultSSLContextImpl)
            --> java.security.UnrecoverableKeyException: Password must not be nullThe UnrecoverableKeyException is a manifestation of [https://glassfish.dev.java.net/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=6938|https://glassfish.dev.java.net/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=6938]
    I worked around this by adding the following JVM config options to domain.xml
    <jvm-options>-Djavax.net.ssl.keyStorePassword=changeit</jvm-options>
    <jvm-options>-Djavax.net.ssl.trustStorePassword=changeit</jvm-options> (Note: the default master password is "changeit")
    These lines are placed in /domain/configs/config/java-config of domain.xml for the particular server config you're using. There's only one server config in the default domain.xml shipped with V3. Then restart the server.
    I retested the code on both port 465 and 587, with and without the above config changes. Without the change, they both fail the same way, and with the change, they both work. Let me know if this helps.

  • Problem while calling a Webservice from a Stand alone java program

    Hello Everyone,
    I am using a java program to call a webservice as follows. For this I have generated the client proxy definition for Stand alone proxy using NWDS.
    Now when I call the method of the webservice I am getting the correct result but along with the result I am getting one error and one warning message in the output.
    The java code to call the webservice is as follows.
    public class ZMATRDESCProxyClient {
         public static void main(String[] args) throws Exception {
              Z_MATRDESC_WSDService ws = new Z_MATRDESC_WSDServiceImpl();
              Z_MATRDESC_WSD port = (Z_MATRDESC_WSD)ws.getLogicalPort("Z_MATRDESC_WSDSoapBinding",Z_MATRDESC_WSD.class);
              String res = port.zXiTestGetMatrDesc("ABCD134");
              System.out.print(res);
    The result I am getting is :
    Warning ! Protocol Implementation [com.sap.engine.services.webservices.jaxrpc.wsdl2java.features.builtin.MessageIdProtocol] could not be loaded (NoClassDefFoundError) !
    Error Message is :com/sap/guid/GUIDGeneratorFactory

    Can any one please let me know why I am getting the warning and error message and how can I fix this.
    Thanks
    Abinash

    Hi Abinash,
    I have the same problem. Have you solve that problem?
    I am using a java program to call a webservice too. And I have generated the client proxy definition for Stand alone proxy using NWDS. When I call the method of the webservice I am getting the correct result but along with the result I am getting one error and one warning message in the output.
    The java code to call the webservice is as follows.
    MIDadosPessoaisSyncService service = new MIDadosPessoaisSyncServiceImpl();
    MIDadosPessoaisSync port = service.getLogicalPort("MIDadosPessoaisSyncPort");
    port._setProperty("javax.xml.rpc.security.auth.username","xpto");
    port._setProperty("javax.xml.rpc.security.auth.password","xpto");
    String out = port.MIDadosPessoaisSync("xpto", "xpto");
    System.out.println(out);
    The result I am getting is :
    Warning ! Protocol Implementation [com.sap.engine.services.webservices.jaxrpc.wsdl2java.features.builtin.MessageIdProtocol] could not be loaded (NoClassDefFoundError) !
    Error Message is :com/sap/guid/GUIDGeneratorFactory
    <b>The result of the WS is correct!!!</b>
    The Java project does not have any warning. But the stand alone proxy project has following warnings associated with it.
    This method has a constructor name     MIDadosPessoaisSync.java
    The import javax.xml.rpc.holders is never used     MIDadosPessoaisSyncBindingStub.java
    The import javax.xml.rpc.encoding is never used     MIDadosPessoaisSyncBindingStub.java
    The constructor BaseRuntimeException(ResourceAccessor, String, Throwable) is deprecated     MIDadosPessoaisSyncBindingStub.java
    It is very similar with your problem, could you help me?
    Thanks

  • Help needed in Authenticating Users via A Stand-Alone Web_Application

    Hi all,
    I've just begun to explore the Human Workflow Services in the Oracle SOA Suite...
    I want to create a BPEL Process with a Human Workflow involving 2 users say, P1 & P2 ( which i have configured to be in the default "realm", say..)
    Could Anyone please help me in the Steps to be followed to implement a Stand-Alone Web-Application (or a Web-Service for that matter) that i can use to Authenticate P1 & P2...!
    It's Just like the WorkList Application...but i'm stuck with issues of HOW to Use the IWorkflowContext interface in an External web-application...say deployed on TomCat..?!?
    Once P1 or P2 logs-in...i then plan to show them their tasks (like the WorkList)...& then try & Invoke/trigger a Human task by making a call to the WebService representing the BPEL process...!
    Awaiting a Speedy guidance from Some one...
    [I'm wondering if i can develope some OTHER kind of a UI for a Human Workflow...that's Why..?! :)]
    Thanks in advance...

    I create soft links via ln -s to the environment scripts:
    lrwxrwxrwx 1 oracle dba 43 2005-02-10 20:29 vis9.env -> /lv03/oracle/vis9db/9.2.0/vis9_socrates.env
    lrwxrwxrwx 1 applmgr appl 33 2005-02-10 20:27 vis9.env -> /lv03/oracle/vis9appl/APPSORA.env
    So in oracle user home directory, I type ln -s /lv03/oracle/vis9db/9.2.0/vis9_socrates.env vis9.env
    Then just type . vis9.env to take on the database environment as the oracle user.
    In the applmgr home directory, I type ln -s /lv03/oracle/vis9appl/APPSORA.env vis9.env
    Then just type . vis9.env as applmgr, to assume the applications environment. You will need to be in this environment to start/stop the applications.
    cd to $OAD_TOP/admin/scripts/*
    to stop:
    ./adstpall.sh apps/apps
    to start:
    ./adstrtal.sh apps/apps

  • Stand alone client for remote EJB corba error

    Regarding problem below, I've checked System env variables
    that weblogic server is using for CORBA classes:
    javax.rmi.CORBA.UtilClass=weblogic.iiop.UtilDelegateImpl
    org.omg.CORBA.ORBSingletonClass=weblogic.corba.orb.ORB
    org.omg.CORBA.ORBClass weblogic.corba.orb.ORB
    javax.rmi.CORBA.PortableRemoteObjectClass=weblogic.iiop.PortableRemoteObjectDelegateImpl
    But these are server classes and not found in wlclient.jar and wljmsclient.jar. What classes should be used for client? What needs to be set in order to get successful remote RMI/EJB call to weblogic server?
    Original post:
    I have a stand alone spring client for simple stateless session EJB deployed on weblogic 9.2. I'm using spring (jdk 1.5) to call this remote EJB and the only way I can succeed is to have full weblogic.jar in my bootstrap classpath. Otherwise I get corba error:
    CORBA BAD_PARAM 0 No; nested exception is:
    org.omg.CORBA.BAD_PARAM: vmcid: 0x0 minor code: 0 completed: No
    Interestingly, within same client I have JMS call to weblogic JMS and that fails if weblogic.jar is in boot classpath. Getting rid of weblogic.jar from boot classpath works if I have wlclient.jar and wljmsclient.jar in regular classpath (as per weblogic docs). I would think that for stand alone client all I would need is to weblogic client jars, why should I need to have full weblogic.jar?
    I can't get those work together with same classpath. I wonder if anybody has some pointers and/or advice. I was looking to set system parameters for corba for weblogic client that maybe could help:
    org.omg.CORBA.ORBClass
    org.omg.CORBA.ORBSingletonClass
    javax.rmi.CORBA.UtilClass
    javax.rmi.CORBA.StubClass
    javax.rmi.CORBA.PortableRemoteObjectClass
    But I can't find definitive answer.

    I'm stuck exactly with the same issue while trying to port my application from weblogic to jboss.
    I tried to specify different ORB implementations (JacORB, OpenORB) for jvm option org.omg.CORBA.ORBClass, but JBoss couldn't get them instantiated. Native Sun implementation which is used in JBoss by default and can be instantiated, apparently is not fully compatible with weblogic security module.
    So did you manage to find out the solution?

  • Stand-alone client - lookup problem

    I have a stand-alone Java client application (ContactClient) that I want to use to access an EJB called Contact. I am using J2EE, deploying with deploytool. The EJB has a JNDI name of "MyContact", and the Client reference is "ejb/TheContact". The relevant code in the app is:
    try
    java.util.Properties props = new java.util.Properties();
    props.put(Context.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY,
    "com.sun.jndi.cosnaming.CNCtxFactory");
    props.put(Context.PROVIDER_URL, "iiop://localhost:1050");
    Context initial = new InitialContext(props);
    Object objref = initial.lookup("ejb/TheContact");
    ContactHome home =
    (ContactHome)PortableRemoteObject.narrow(objref,
    ContactHome.class);
    contact = home.create();
    catch (Exception ex)
    System.err.println("Exception: " + ex.getMessage());
    ex.printStackTrace();
    The following exception is thrown by initial.lookup("ejb/TheContact");
    javax.naming.NameNotFoundException. Root exception is org.omg.CosNaming.NamingContextPackage.NotFound: IDL:omg.org/CosNaming/NamingContext/NotFound:1.0
    I have tried changing the name to "TheContact", and to "java:comp/env/TheContact" with no success. If I change it to the JNDI name "MyContact", the lookup works, but the following call, PortableRemoteObject.narrow(), throws a java.lang.ClassCastException.
    What am I doing wrong?
    John

    Hi, Thanks for your fast reply, but it still doesn't work.
    With your Code I get a classCastException in this line:
    "SessionHome home = (SessionHome)ctx.lookup("SessionBeanInstance");"
    Here is the code from the whole thing, as it works with the appclient script:
    SessionHome: //RemoteHomeInterface

  • Code behaves different when SWF is in browser as opposed to stand alone player, why?

    In ActionScript, I have some code that dispatches a
    MOUSE_OVER event when a tween is complete. I am using Tweener for
    the tween. On my Mac OSX machine, I preview the SWF file in a stand
    alone player spawned from my Flash IDE, and the event is dispatched
    and the behavior works as expected, but when I preview the SWF file
    as embedded in a MacOSX browser, the event is not dispatched. On a
    Windows machine, however, the event is dispatched both in a stand
    alone player and within the embedded SWF file in a browser. The
    problem seems to come particularly from the Mac OSX player.
    Has anybody ever experienced this? Is the OSX implementation
    of the Flash player different in a stand alone and browser setting?
    Here is the code that I am using:

    HMMM! Verrrrrry interesting.
    Yes file size is an issue, it's a large project.
    Exterenally host it?
    Where could I go and do that?
    I'm not familiar with this process.  Can you please tell me exactly how it works?
    And....that means both servers need to be up and running?  Kinda sounds a bit shakey.   This project needs to be strong and stand alone to go here and there.  Durable.
    I feel safer if its all in one piece.  Bam.
    You know, I noticed "FAST" and "BEST" does not make a difference to file size or quality.
    Could I be wrong?
    Thanks.

  • Stand-alone JNDI lookup of an EJB in an Enterprise Application (EAR) build

    Hi All,
    I am having some difficulty doing JNDI look up an EJB 3.0 Bean that is part of an Enterprise Application (EAR) build. Below are all the related codes:
    package ejb;
    import javax.ejb.Local;
    @Local
    public interface Hello1Local {
        public String getHello1();
    package ejb;
    import javax.ejb.Stateless;
    @Stateless
    public class Hello1Bean implements Hello1Local {
        public String getHello1() {
            return "I am Hello1 Bean!";
    package ejb;
    import javax.ejb.Remote;
    @Remote
    public interface Hello2Remote {
        public String getHello2();
    package ejb;
    import javax.ejb.Stateless;
    import javax.ejb.EJB;
    @Stateless
    @EJB(name="ejb/Hello1",
         beanInterface=Hello1Local.class,
         beanName="Hello1Bean")
    public class Hello2Bean implements Hello2Remote {
        @EJB private Hello1Local hello1bean;
        public String getHello2() {
            return hello1bean.getHello1();
    There is no problem looking up Hello2 Bean using an Application Client such as the following:
    public class LocalHelloApplicationClient {
        @EJB(name="Hello2")
        private static Hello2Remote hello2Bean;
        public static void main(String[] args) {
            System.out.println("hello2Bean.getHello2(): " + hello2Bean.getHello2());
    }There is also no problem doing JNDI lookup (from a Stand-Alone Client the same bean if both Hello1 and Hello2 were created by themselves. ie not part of an Enterprise Application (EAR) build. However, I am wondering whether it is possible to do JNDI lookup of the same bean (Hello2) that is part of an Enterprise Application (EAR) built. Below are the type of JNDI lookup entries that I have tried without success:
    public class StandalonePojoCallHelloWorld {
        public static void main(String [] args)
            try
                InitialContext jndiContext = new InitialContext();
                Hello2Remote hello2Bean =  (Hello2Remote) jndiContext.lookup("ejb.Hello2Remote");
                                                                     or
                Hello2Remote hello2Bean =  (Hello2Remote) jndiContext.lookup("LocalHelloEnterpriseApplication.Hello2.remote");
                                                                     or
                Hello2Remote hello2Bean =  (Hello2Remote) jndiContext.lookup("LocalHelloEnterpriseApplication.ejb.Hello2Remote");
                                                                     or
                Hello2Remote hello2Bean =  (Hello2Remote) jndiContext.lookup("LocalHelloEnterpriseApplication.Hello2Remote");
                                                                     or
                Hello2Remote hello2Bean =  (Hello2Remote) jndiContext.lookup("LocalHelloEnterpriseApplication.LocalHelloEnterpriseApplication-ejb.Hello2Remote");
                System.out.println("hello2Bean.getHello2(): " + hello2Bean.getHello2());
            catch (javax.naming.NamingException ne)
             ne.printStackTrace();
    They all came up with the same error message:

    Hello
    I've somme problems to get access to ejb interface from remote stand-alone client.
    Here is my EJB code :
    package stateless;
    import javax.ejb.Stateless;
    @Stateless(name = "TestSB", mappedName = "ejb/stateless/TestSB")
    public class TestEJBBean implements TestEJBRemote {
        public String getMessage() {
           return "Hello EJB World";
    }And the remote interface :
    package stateless;
    import javax.ejb.Remote;
    @Remote
    public interface TestEJBRemote {
        String getMessage();
    } In client side, i just edit main.java like this :
    package testclient;
    import java.io.FileInputStream;
    import java.util.Properties;
    import javax.naming.InitialContext;
    import stateless.TestEJBRemote;
    public class Main {

            Properties props = new Properties();
            props.load(new FileInputStream("jndi.properties"));
            InitialContext ctx = new InitialContext(props);
            TestEJBRemote testEJB = (TestEJBRemote) ctx.lookup("ejb/stateless/TestSB");
            System.out.println(testEJB.getMessage());
    }here is my jndi.properties file (my glassfish server IP is 192.168.0.10) :

  • Can we use both Stand alone and Extended classic in one SRM system

    Hi All,
    Our client is now using Stand alone SRM system with back-end R/3 FI-CO system. Now they want to go Extended classic scenario for few product categories.
             Would it be possible to use both in one SRM system? If possible could you please provide what are the sequential steps to do this?
                 Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Ram

    Hi Ramesh,
    How did you end up solving your problem, as i have the same scenario.  Did you use this BADI (
    SRM Server->Business Add-Ins->Control Extended Classic Scenario->Activate Extended Classic Scenario)?  Based on my reading, it seems this BADI is relevant to switch between extended classic and classic scenarios.
    From what i understand, we can control the standalone scenario via the define backend system configuration (SAP SRM -> SRM Server -> Technical Basic Settings -> Define Backend System for Product Category).  In my scenario, I have one set of product categories, so i will likely need to implement this BADI (BBP_DETERMINE_LOGSYS, method:   DETERMINE_LOGSYS - SAP SRM -> SRM Server -> Business Add-Ins ->Shopping Carts and Requirement Items -> Determine Backend System / Company Code) in order to determine the correct backend system based on company/plant for example.
    Did you then leave the extended classic scenario activated (IMG --> Supplier Relationship Management -> SRM Server-> Cross-Application Basic Settings->
    Activate Extended Classic Scenario)?
    Or how did you achieve both standalone and extended classic using one SRM server?
    cheers,
    AD

  • SAP HCM stand alone product

    Hi....I'm a SAP ABAP developer and new to SAP HCM...I want to know if is possible to implement SAP HCM module as a stand alone product without implement FI-CO modules or without having interfaces to another SAP ERP system, my client only need a HR system, they already have and are comfortable with their current systems.....Where can I found information about SAP HCM stand alone implementation if this case is achievable.
    Thanks in advance,
    Mirko.

    Thanks Rajdeep for your reponse.....we want to implement:
       - OM (Organizational Management)
       - RC (Recruitment)
       - PA (Personnel Adminitration)
       - PT (Time Management)
       - PY (Payroll)
    Beside Company code, what another mandatory things are necessary configure?.....Can they be for FI: Business area, the G/L accounts for payroll? and for CO: CO area, cost center?

  • [Acceleo] Running stand alone

    Hi,
    This time I'm not asking a question but posting some findings which might be helpful or might lead into creating a bug report.
    My goal is to run an acceleo generator stand alone. I did the following:
    - create metamodel
    - create acceleo project
    - create templates
    (business as usual)
    I ensured that my language packages were registered and that the xmi resource factory was registered (see Acceleo help, reference, stand-alone).
    Then I right clicked the acceleo project and tried to export it as a runnable jar. Just using the default settings lead to a jar file that does not contain the emtl file. Do I need to create a bug report for this one, or is this expected behavior?
    I did it again but this time I selected 'Save as ANT script'. The resulting jar file did not contain the emtl file but running the ANT script does ensure that the emtl file is added. This is the one that lead to a working version!
    Even though I succeeded, I did it again but this time I selected in Library handling: package required libraries into generated jar. Apparently this changes how resources are loaded and I got a 'file not found' exception. Might be involved with the 'jar-in-jar-loader' implementation. Do I need to create a bug report for this one, or is this expected behavior?
    Greetings,
    Wilbert.

    Yes ....I did observe that when i tried to install the setup files on the target computer. I had activated the labview software and the run-time engine by using the NI license activator v1.1.I cannot see any serial codes so how should i activate only the run-time engine using such an activator on my target PC? I searched but couldn't find an answer for this....
    I have also installed an evaluation mode of the vision RTE on my target (2009 version) but now when I run my executable it shows error for the functions that capture images such as enumerate cameras, open and close ( all pertaining to image acquisition functions: IMAQ USB). How should I incorporate these functions on a target PC which does not have VAS or LABVIEW installed?

  • TREX Admin Tool (Stand-Alone)

    Hello-
    I am new to the forums, so if I am posting in a wrong area please let me know so I can correct this; thanks in advance for your patience.
    Now the question.  I am interested in using the TREX Admin Tool (Stand-Alone) to manage our multiple TREX 7.0 and TREX 7.1 systems.  Can anyone tell me where I go in the market place to download this tool and any links to the documentation on this tool.
    I have already found SAP Note 766516 and the following link on help.sap.com on the subject:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/40/1726d3aef809b8e10000000a114cbd/content.htm
    Any and all input, suggestions, help, flames, etc. are greatly appreciated.

    Hi Nathan,
    the Python based TREX admin tool (stand-alone) is part of the TREX 7.0/7.1 installation. You do not need to download it seperately, when you have downloaded and installed TREX.  Note that also a transaction TREXADMIN exist by which you can start the ABAP based version of the TREX admin tool in the SAP System if you are using TREX by an ABAP application via RFC.
    For docu how to start and how to use the TREX 7.0 admin tools see:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/3f/fcb705c1ce131fe10000000a114cbd/frameset.htm
    There will be also an admin docu about using TREX 7.1 by NW 7.0 applications. This docu will be available on SAP Help Portal as of NW 7.0 SP14 during January.
    For the most current info + docu about TREX and TREX configuration see also:
    SAP Service Marketplace:
    https://service.sap.com/instguides
    --> SAP NetWeaver --> SAP NetWeaver 7.0 (2004s) -->  Installation -->  3 - Installation - Standalone Engines --> SAP NetWeaver Search and Classification TREX
    There you find the Installation & Implementation Documentation Center for TREX 7.0 and TREX 7.1 with links to the TREX install guides for installing and configuring single host as well as multiple hosts landscapes. Note the prerequisites for using TREX 7.1 by NW 7.0 applications.

  • E-Recruitment Technical architecture design for stand alone

    Hello,
    I looking at various options to implement E-Recruiting in a stand alone scenario.
    One option i know is where my HR Data is in ECC6.0 and E-Rec component is in other ECC6.0 system and i can interface the data through ALE and RFC's.
    When we talk about E-Rec in standalone (without ECC), how would be technical architecture look like.
    Please help me with some inputs.
    Best Regards
    G Raj

    Hi Raj,
    Am not sure what are the exact details that you require. I have given a few pointers which may be of use.
    Incase eRecruiting is on a different server then the transfer of data (PA & OM ) will be through ALE & idocs.
    The transfer of data from eRecruiting to ECC is through RFC where only a set of 15 fields can be transferred back. There is also a newer option to use XI for this.
    The standalone server usually has only the erec component & no other HR module (Pls chk the installation guide on this point)
    A few BADIs need to be activated in the erec server
    When an internal employee(object P) is transferred here, a corresponding object NA(candidate) & BP(business partner) is created.(This is because of the BADI activation)
    Incase of an external employee , the moment he registers, an object NA ,BP ,CP is created.When he is hired into the system, there is an object P created with a New CP which then will have to be coonnected to the original NA.
    Change pointers will take care of synchronisation of data between both the servers.
    The relationship between the various objects are seen in infotype 1001 in the erec system.
    The advantage of using this scenario is that core HR is not exposed to external people as the erec server talks with the external world.
    Incase of webdynpro ABAP as UI, you can have separate fron-end & back-end.

    Sowmya
