Implementing the Scheduler on Solaris

We are implementing the OBIEE scheduler on Solaris 9. We followed the steps in the bookshelf and run the run-sch.sh file. The scheduler log is created as a zero byte file and the process does not come up. Has anyone implemented the scheduler on Solaris and what steps did they need to take?

For interest, what was the incorrect setting?

the reason I am asking about this is because we are required to provide reports for a number of customers by email every day... each report requires retrieving values from a DB.
I made a test few hours ago about making a thread sleeps and check the time when it wakes up, it works, no problem about that...
I placed a thread in the servlet context and started it... and it kept working for about an hour writing in the log every 5 seconds... so I guess the idea works...
but do you think that this way of implementing the scheduler is ok? for I have not done it before and I don't know the cons of such a method.

Implementing KM scheduler in WD application

Can anybody guide me on KM schedulers and how to implement the same in WD applications.
We have a WD application where we are creating PDF forms. Now we need to schedule the process and want to run the job at a regular interval of time. Is KM scheduler the right way to do it?

i have one more query, I have orchestration published as wcf service in IIS and internally orchestration calling one more service , it means orchestration sending a request and getting response back from the service.
actually we are implementing the copy of that called service through biztalk orchestration for system automatic and tracking failed messages and n/w failures.
But tracking profiler not tracking the Data.
And we need to develop the http service as https(Over SSL), we implemented in iis using self
signed certificate, it is working just browser for wsdl(in browser), we are not able to test the service in wcf test client, it is giving wsdl error, in wsdl schema reference showing with HTTP only,
please help me how to resolve the issue.

First things first, I think it's best to publish only schemas as WCF service for dependency management reasons. That said - WSDL availability is covered in the WCF adapter under the behaviors. If you're using HTTPBasic this may be hard to modify, but using
WCFCustom allows you to add the WSDL behavior and specify that it should be available via HTTPS.
As to the BAM, are you using TPE within the orchestration or at the port level? I'd imagine your TPE tracks the start and end events of your orchestration using the Orchestration Schedule. If you're fairly confident that the TPE is correct and
yet don't see BAM data 1) make sure your SQL Agent is running healthy and all jobs look OK and 2) check the TDDS tables in both the message box and the BAMPrimaryImport databases. These will show you if there has been some sort of sync issue. There's
even a TDDS errors tables - so check that out.

How I run a shell script from the scheduler on 10.2.0.2.0 ?

I'd like to run a shell script from the Scheduler in my 10g database.
Right now it is a simple shell script.
Eventually it will wrap RMAN commands to back up my DB.
I wrote a simple pl/sql script to create a job:

I'm getting responses telling me to check my env variables and permissions
which would be helpful to a UNIX novice.
I have a feeling that no one is using the scheduler to run RMAN scripts.

I am focused on this error:
ORA-27369: job of type EXECUTABLE failed with exit code: 274662
And I am focused on this exit code: 274662
What does 274662 mean?
If the Scheduler gives me an error like "274662" rather than some English,
it's obvious to me the Scheduler is a POS and I should not use it.
And of course,
If I cannot run RMAN from Oracle Scheduler, I'll use cron.

I'm very sorry to admit that I haven't entirely looked at a running system when talking about the CEKKO. You're absolutely right that the document category type is not part of it and you couldn't proceed with maintaining the classification in that way.
I did mention the BSTYP field, as I was used to have the field available, as I usually add this at the first place when starting a project for PO-releases.
As far as I remember, there's a MOVE-CORRESPONDING statement at one point, where the CEKKO structure is initialized, from the EKKO structure that is available. So when you name an APPEND-field of the CEKKO structure BSTYP having the same type as the EKKO, you should find that field filled, without(!) implementing the CEKKO user exit yourself.
It this doesn't help either, please implement the CEKKO user exit to fill your BSTYP field.
If nothing helps at that point, and you're still stuck, you can enable a "Workflow start condition" for the two events on BUS2012.ReleaseStepCreated and the same for BUS2013, where you check the EKKO-BSTYP of the BOR Business Object types against the corresponding object, i.e.
_EventObject.PurchasingCategory = 'F'     (For the event on BUS2012)
Do get the PurchasingCategory, you'll need to subtype and delegate systemwide and create a database field for EKKO table, choosing the field BSTYP. Do this for both the BUS2012 and the BUS2012 or a common super-type if you find so.

How to Transfer the Scheduled concurrent Programs

I have Migrated the EBIZ instance from RHEL 32 bit to RHEL 64 bit with 10.2.0.4 DB & R12.0.6 Apps.
But now i dont have the scheduled concurrent requests in the New instance since the system is migrated. Now is there any ways to bring the Scheduled concurrent req from Old server to New server.
Or Do we have FNDLOAD scripts or Linux scripts to transfer the scheduled programs.

Unable to Reserve and Approve the Scheduled Releases in 11.5.10.2 version

Hi All,
We are newly implementing the Planned PO’s for our client. Now we are successfully reserve and approve the Planned PO’s using the Position Hierarchy but when we try to reserve and the approve the scheduled releases using the same Position Hierarchy here the Approve button is frozen, but from Tools we are able to check the funds.
EX: A, B, C are in the position Hierarchy
1. A is forwarding the document to B
2. B is able to open the Scheduled document from the Notifications but here when he try’s to reserve and approve the document here the Approve button is Frozen.
Note: if B is approving the document from Notifications the document is sending to the next manager and he is able to approve the document but in action history for reserve it’s showing the ‘C’ name instead of ‘B’.
Can any one help me on this issue ASAP?

Performing your action plan by copying all the files from AU_TOP to my local machine and then try to open the INVIDITM.fmb but still the same problem.
Is this the problem of forms version or some thing else?
Because I am able to able the POXPOEPO.fmb( Purchase Order form ) in the same version and do the customization as per requirement.

How to implemented an scheduled service using ScheduledExecutorService

I have a case that need retrieve data periodically from server. And I used the ScheduledExecutorService and javafx.concurrent.Service to implemented this case. But the trick thing is that ScheduledExecutorService schedule method aleady need a Runnable parameter. And Service setExecutor method set the ScheduledExecutorService. But the result is the Runnable is implemented run periodically but not the Service's call method(Which is I want). The Service is not extends from Runnable or Callable, how it can be used by the ScheduledExecutorService to implemented the periodical task?

You are not allowed to call "restart" on a different thread, it must be from the JavaFX application thread. You don't see the Exception for it because it is encapsulated in the ScheduledFuture that "executor.scheduleWithFixedDelay" returns.
Let's forget about this ScheduledExecutorService, that is not the way to do it when you want to work with a Service. Here's a fully working example that uses standard JavaFX:
