Import 3d objects into Flash? Possible?

Hello. IS it possible for me to import a 3d object/file into Flash? I created a 3d item in Photoshop but am unsure how to get it into Flash.

Well I did try importing but I don't think the files can be read...(.dae , .u3d, etc). Darn though...one of the 3d tools is similar so I thought I could turn the object around and such~

  • Import Illustrator file into Flash

I'm using Flash CS4 and I want to import an *AI file that contains the shapes of Europe's countries. The thing is that each country has a filling of dots (blue or yellow) instead of a solid color. Here is a screenshot of my Illustrator screen:http://img5.imageshack.us/img5/6983/testedd.jpg
When I import the AI into Flash all these dots become rasterized and everything looks like squashed because, I no longer have vector dots but instead bitmaps. Example of the exported SWF: http://takeab.us/SPL_embed/index_carte.html
(try and right-click and Zoom In; you'll see how bad it looks)
So, what's the best way in importing an AI file and keeping also the vector shapes? I've tried with a version EPS and still no hope.

Well object expand is what I did then copy and paste, I am not certain of the reason to crop.
this is what i got when I expanded copied and pasted. so I do not think the crop is necessary it pastes as a symbol and the symbol is clipped which I think is what you want.
But if in this case you want the stroke as well once you select anyone of the countries they have no stroke according t the tool bar proxy and so it you give it a stroke using say a swatch and then expand copy and paste you get both the fill and the stroke if you desire the stroke as well.
In the case of France and Paris once you paste those into Flash after you stroke and expand then you select both the city and the country and make that into a symbol so that they are one.
And I notice from the art you sent all you have to do is select a country expand, copy, paste and then undo the expand and you are good t go do your work.

  • How do I import Captivate 4 into Flash CS5?

I am not a Flash expert obviously. I am trying to import my captivates into Flash and get an error message that the file was not imported because it could not be read. Can anyone help?

    Hello,
Normally you can export the Captivate file to Flash from the File menu, but I'm not sure it will work between 2 different versions: 4 for Captivate and CS5 for Flash?

  • When importing an image into Flash, the filesize is reported incorrectly

I saved an image from Photoshop using "Save for Web" and managed to bring the filesize down to 56.5kb. When I import this image into Flash and click on the properties, the reported "Original" filesize is 1884.6kb which is a heck of a lot more. How can I import the image and retain the filesize without having to compress the image further causing a horrible quality image?

right click one of your bitmaps, click properties and tick "allow smoothing".  retest.

  • Colour changes when importing Illustrator graphics into Flash CS3

    Hi there!
I'm creating a Flash site, and all the graphics are imported
    from Illustrator.
Also, in the Illustrator file, there are some Phtoshop
graphics with shadow effects on it.
The problem is, that when I import the .ai into Flash, a
pretty strong colour change occurs: everything becomes lighter. And
the shadow, wich is black in Photoshop, turns white in Flash!
Is there a way to solve this problem? I searched the net, and
some people say it's an OSX thing, wich is pretty strange, because
Mac is an obvious choice for loads of designers.
    I've attached an image preview.
    Preview
    Thanks in advance!
    Alex

    Thanks for the anwsers!
However, the weird thing is, when I pick one of the photoshop
graphics, asign the profile to it, and import it into Flash, the
colors look fairly good. BUT when I import the complete Illustrator
file with alle the graphics in it, I still get the color shift. I
can now put all the graphics in the flash file, one at a time, but
I think thats not the most easy way to do it..

  • Can we import 3D objects into AE?

I have v6.5 and in the manual it says AE can import certain 3D files. Yet everyone in this forum always say to render stuff in whatever 3D app and import the *video* into AE. Even 3D plugins like zaewerks seem to export only video into AE, not 3D model (or so I'm told).
So what is it, can AE read 3D models or not? If not, is there any reason why it hasn't been improved to do so? Shouldn't this be a high priority thing and easy to do, since it's already almost there.
If yes, why isn't anyone doing it? At least I haven't read about how to import 3D objects into AE.

This area of functionality has changed little between After Effects 6.5 and CS3, so the
" 3D files from other applications" section of After Effects CS3 Help on the Web is still relevant for you.
    Here's an excerpt:
"After Effects can import 3D-image files saved in Softimage PIC, RLA, RPF, and Electric Image EI format. These 3D-image files contain red, green, blue, and alpha (RGBA) channels, as well as auxiliary channels with optional information, such as z depth, object IDs, texture coordinates....
After Effects treats each composited 3D file from another application as a single 2D layer. That layer, as a whole, can be given 3D attributes and treated like any After Effects 3D layer, but the objects contained within that 3D file cannot be manipulated individually in 3D space. To access the 3D depth information and other auxiliary channel information in 3D image files, use the 3D Channel effects."
Also, you can import camera data and other data from 3D applications.
So, yes, you can import files from 3D applications; but, no, you can't import 3D models per se and do new camera moves on them, et cetera.
Yes, this is a common feature request. Yes, it is being very seriously considered.
P.S. Mylenium has a lot of information about working with After Effects and data from 3D applications on his website: http://mylenium.de/creation/motiondesign/ae_vault/ae_vault_main.html

  • Can't Import Sound Clip into Flash CS6

I clipped a song using Audition and added a fade. I exported it to MP3.
I need to import that clip into Flash. I tried: FILE>IMPORT>IMPORT TO LIBRARY
It read: Couldn't Import (file name)
I tried to convert the sound clip to a .wav file and ran into the same problem.
I tried to drag and drop into the library. Same problem.
I am a novice at Flash. This is for a school assignment. It worked in class but not at home. I am using WINDOWS 8.1 and have a creative cloud version of flash (which I THINK is CS6).
    Suggestions?

Fix: I converted it to a .wav file and everything was a-ok.

  • Import dll file into Flash 8

    Hi!
Anyone knows if it’s possible to import a dll file into

  • Importing illustrator artwork into Flash (without all the 'mess')

    Hi,
This isn't really a problem, more so that I am just "fussy". My friend and I are working on a game. He is producing the artwork in illustrator. I want to keep the artwork in vector format so it scales well on different devices (so exporting as a bitmap is not an option). When I import his illustrator files in Flash, it ends up making thousands of symbols in the library and it's making the interface in flash sluggish, not to mention it just looks messy. (I am aware I could group the symbols into a seperate folder in Flash but that doesn't help the sluggish problem much).
My question is what can I do to make all the illustrator artwork import as shapes and lines instead of complete graphic symbols (which I don't want because it's messy, even if I do group them into folders in the library, it may appear tidier but I know that they are still there and created as symbols and that will bother me anyway). I will be making flash cache the objects as bitmaps for better runtime performance, but that's besides the point. I don't want flash to feel bogged down or unresponsive when I minipulate things and I like things tidy and effecient.
I know what I am asking is possible, for example if you open Flash and draw a few shapes with the pen or any other tool, they don't appear in the library. You can then group all the shapes together as one big "graphic" or "movie clip" by converting it to what you desire. This is nice and efficient and you have just 1 object in the library instead of a "symbol" for every little shape.
I hope I am making myself understood,
    thanks Lee

    Hello Gentlemen,
I'm also importing .ai files from Illustrator into Flash, collapsing the layers in the flash import window and selecting the entire group as one layer, then importing as a movie clip directly into the library, not the stage.
When I look at my Library, I have all of my movie clips (though they are missing the "mc_" label I had named each with, but there was also a separate folder created for each one, with another folder inside labelled, "Layer 1" and inside that is "Layer 1". Some of them also include a file named <Mesh>.
Is this because I selected the entire folder to import and then named each individually as they came in? Can I get rid of the folders and just keep the movie clips, or are those support files?
    Thanks for your help!

  • Best way to import all objects into work repository located on a new master respository

    Hi,
We have two separate master repositories, one for all development work repositories (Development, ST, UAT, IAT), and one for Production.
What would be the best approach to export and import all objects from the Dev Repository into the Prod Work Repository located on the Prod Master Repository.
Internal Ids of all work repositories are different.
We have tried putting everything into a solution and exporting that, but that did not work when we tried to import it.
We successfully exported and imported a single scenario, however this is not very practical as we have over 500 scenarios.
    All suggestions welcome,
    Thanks,
    Nic

    Thanks,
But we want to keep Dev Work Repositories separate to Prod Work Repositories on their respective Master Repositories.
So our end result will have:
    1) All Development Work Repositories located in the Development Master Repository on the Development server.
    2) The Production Work Repository located on the Production Master Repository on the Production Server.
    3) The ability to update a Solution or similar in Development with all changes to any objects.
    4) The ability to import the Solution into the Prod Work Repo on the Prod Master Repo and execute via a load plan.
    Is this possible?

  • Importing from Illustrator into Flash

    Hello,
I've created a text graphic in Illustrator CS2, which is stretched and with a light fill + a thin black stroke (0.1pt).
When importing into the Flash (CS3) library, I get an error message telling me that there's a compatibility problem because of the stretched text. Everything, besides the fact that the text should be stretched but isn't, looks fine in the graphic that's imported. All well and good, I go over to Illustrator and convert the text to outlines.
Then I try importing again, no error messages. But I get the problem that the outline is thicker than it was in Illustrator. Too thick. (Looks like 1 or 2pt).
I go back to Illustrator and outline the stroke, group the objects together for the sake of it, and try importing again. This time, the outline correctly displays on about 1/3 of the letters. But the rest..now have absolutely no stroke..
I then make a compound path out of all the objects. Which changed nothing, about how it imports into Flash.
I decided to just place the text as a jpeg/bitmap image in Flash, and it looks normal as in, the stroke is the right thickness and all letters have a stroke. But of course, it's pixels. And looks pretty horrible, especially where the letters get rather thin.
So I'm left clueless. Why won't the Illustrator file simply import as it should?
And how can I get it to do so?
    Thanks
    El

Would converting the text to Flash text in Illustrator be helpful?

  • Importing Director movies into Flash

My short Q, which I suspect is a FAQ though it doesn't appear
on the Director or Flash FAQs on the Macromedia (sorry, Adobe ;-))
site, is: how can you import Director movies (source .dir, or
published .dcr) into a Flash movie?
I had thought this would be simple, that Flash would have an
import filter for Shockwave movies, as after all both products come
from the same stable and you can import .swf movies into Director,
but not so, at least in my copy of Flash 8. Neither can Director
export as a .swf - the only export format that might just work is
.avi but I'm damned if I want to create a big video file just to
reuse a snippet from a Director movie. I did a quick Google search
for DCR->SWF converters but couldn't see anything obvious to
    use.
The reason I'm bothered about this is that we've produced a
lot of e-learning material in Director (a good third of our
    learning objects at
    http://www.nottingham.ac.uk/nursing/sonet/rlos/rlolist.html
use Shockwave movies) and although we've now moved on to Flash,
occasionally we want to be able to reuse snippets from Director
movies in Flash movies. It would be disappointing, to put it
mildly, were we not able to move content between software
applications produced by the same company...
    TIA for any answers/suggestions.
    Cheers

I feel your pain an don't know what's going to happen with
Director now that Adobe is involved.
You mentioned that you could export as avi, could you copy
the scenes in which you want to use into a new director file,
export that as an avi and conver t that to an flv?
    Just a thought.

  • Error while Importing SYSTEM objects into 9.2.0.6

    HI,

It is related to a SYSTEM object.

Can anybody help me out on this.
    Regards,

    Hi,
don't mentioning why are You importing SYSTEM objects, the error that You have, just looking the message, is due to an export done without the clause CONSISTENT=Y (so all relations parent/child preserved) having the replication (the table in error is one of the replication dictionary table) active (not quisced)
Repeat the export operation using CONSISTENT=Y an stop replication activity.
    Hope this helps

  • Why can't I import a PDF into Flash?

I already submitted a feature request on this, so you don't need to tell me to do that.
Does anyone know of a logical reason why Flash can't import a specific page of PDFs like Photoshop and Illustrator can?
    Thanks!

Hey, thanks for that tip. It does work, however what it does is it converts it to a bitmap. It's not live vectors and text. Also, it will only give you the first page of a multipage PDF. Illustrator and Photoshop give you a dialog asking which page you want.
So right now, I open in Illustrator and then copy and paste into Flash. Flash has an Illustrator importer with options for the vector and text. It seems like a simple thing to support PDF natively.
The method I have to use takes more time because I have to manually create a back page image and when I paste I have to move it into the right place, etc.
    Thanks!

  • Import design object into integration repository

    HI.
We are going to import "XI3_0_SAP_BASIS_6.40_SP09_01.tpz" into integration reposiotry. So, we move this file into "G:\usr\sap\DEV\SYS\global\xi\repository_server\import" and start integration reposiotry.
Then, I clicked tool -> import design object but system can't find any object.
How can I fix this ?
    Regards, Arnold.

    Hi,
Generally, the import of this component is done during installation itself, just check if the installation has been completed. Check out michal's FAQ blog to get simple steps to check if installation has been completed properly. You can probably copy the tpz version of the SAP BASIS component again from the installation DVD and try and import it.
Btw, what kind of a platform is XI running on - Unix platform? Whatever it is, are you able to see the tpz file at its location? Check if the folder that the tpz if existing in has all the permissions to pick up the file.
    Regards,
