Import, ignore=y : what if FK, procedures, exists

Hello,
I need to re-run the full import (the data in the tables were corrupted thus deleted). The full import takes around 2 days so I would like to keep as many db objects as possible (to not drop them all)I want to do the import with IGNORE=N. There are all (numerous) procedures, constraints, views, synonims etc. already created.
What does the import do (when IGNORE=N) with existing procedures and other objects? Skip? Duplicate?
(maybe I will have to rerun the import for several times as new applications are eing tested) and would not like to have DB full of duplicated procedures,constraints,triggers etc..)

This link should provide you details regarding the 'IGNORE' parameter of IMPORT utility.
http://download-west.oracle.com/docs/cd/B10501_01/server.920/a96652/ch02.htm#1005473
Assuming that there are a few or no users on the database where you are running the import, did you consider reducing the total time of import by not archiving your redo logs? Note that you still have the export dump file in case you lose data for any unexpected reason.
You also may want to look into the following.
Assuming that you are working with multiple schemas, you could reduce your time for your export by performing several simultaneous export at schema level. You could do the same thing with imports.
Specifying a large buffer size may reduce time taken for the import process. Consider using 'COMMIT=N'. Consider not to bring statistics during import.

    What procedures exist for change raw devices to filesystem?
    I understand that only you can:
    - Backup Full (System with raw device) and Restore in System with Filesystem
    - Export/Import
    Specifically I want to know:
    A backup (created in MaxDB 7.5 with DB in Rawdevices) can be restored on another System, with DB in file system??
    Someone could give me details of the procedure?
    Someone knows another method?
    Greetings to all.

    > Specifically I want to know:

    No problem as long as
    - the target systems database version is at the same patchlevel (or higher)
    - the target database is big enough
    - the target system has the same endianess (you can e. g. not import a backup from Windows to HP-UX)
    A SAPDB/MaxDB backup has no information about the source filesystem setup, it contains only pages. There has "just" to be enough space to restore them.

    Administration - Marketing -> Import, you can set a parameter value "Import mode" for what to do in case of duplication as "update existing records", "Import new records". The final report of this import is presented as a text file that can be viewed in Business Administration - Marketing -> Import -> Exceptions. Whatever the exception, including duplication import occurs during import and recorded in a text file.   What are the fields that determine the duplicity? How I can I can change those?

    You will be returned anything that is in the option's value parameter. What is displayed in the dropdown and what is put in the value attribute do NOT need to be the same, so maybe you should start there.

    unless you pay royalties to the copyright owner of that song, it's illegal to use someone else's recordings to build your own (which software you use doesn't enter the equation):

    Steps for MM Pricing Procedures
    Can anyone please help me on the Pricing Procedures?
    I have read it many times but fail to understand.
    Pricing Procedure :
    In MM module, pricing procedure is used during RFQ and PO creation. Total value of material based on all addition and subtraction like discount, surcharge, tax, freight, etc. In this we are defining pricing procedure and linking to vendor and purchase department through the virtual schemas.
    Following steps for pricing procedure as,
    1. Define conditions.
    2. Define pricing procedure.
    3. Define virtual purchase organization and vendor.
    4. Info Record.
    Customization for Pricing Procedure :
    1. Definition of Conditions :

    2. Defining pricing procedure :
    /NMEK0- calculation schema-calculation schemasu2014New entries (Define procedure and put the conditions like formula so that final price will be net price / total value as per company requirement)
    3. Linking pricing procedure to independent condition types.
    /NMEK0-condition typeu2026condition types- definition for position for defined conditions (Enter the defined pricing procedure in the each independent conditions u201CPricing Procedureu201D box)
    4. Defining Schema group for Vendor :

    5. Defining Schema group for Purchase Organization--- New entries.
    /NMEK0- calculation schema- schema groups---- purchasing organization--- new entries.
    6. Linking Virtual Purchase Organization to actual Purchase Organization.
    /NMEK0- calculation schema- schema groups----- Assign P.Org. (in actual P.Org, enter virtual P.Org)
    7. Linking Pricing procedure to virtual P.Org and virtual vendor :
    /NMEK0- calculation schema- Determine Schema--- -Standard --- New entries (Enter virtual schema and P.Org. along with pricing procedure)
    8. Linking virtual vendor to actual vendor-- /NXK02   then  enter schema group vendor in Purchasing Data )
    9. Info Records (/NME11)---- click on u201CPurch. Org. data1u201D and enter condition types and pricing procedure

    What are the steps in pricing determination in MM? Condition, Access sequence and schema.
    In the SAP MM Pricing is more important. Just yesterday I have completed the Pricing as I am doing the SAPMM now. I can give some light on this Topic, not 100%. After 2 days definitely some more I can share.
    The Basic thing is Condition Technique. In which there are
    1. Access Sequence 2. Condition Record 3. Condition Type 4. Condition Table.
    A Access Sequence access a Condition Record of a Condition Type in a Condition Table is a  Condition Technique.This is a simple logic
    Here the Condition Type is very important like PB00, PBXX,RA01 etc.
    In the background every Condition Type has its own defition means the purpose of the Condition Type  like, is it for Pricing or Percentage, Quntity base, Accrual Feilds etc is to be defined to work this functions.
    Normally we use the existing ones without any risk. But some cases, we have to Create a New Condition Types as per the organisation requirement.
    The Pricing Schema is useful to minimise condition types while mention prices for Vendor on the basis of Pricing Schema which we defined according to organisation requirement.
    The Pricing Schema means the calculations procedure of Condition Type.
    Ex.  RA01 - Discoount % is caclulated on PB00 - Gross Price  means
    RA01 is based on PB00  like that we have to define in the Pricing Schema
    which makes easy to use in realtime.
    Here PB00 has the Access Sequence - 0002.
    But RA01 does not have the Access Sequence.Why because it is a dependent on PB00. But both are Condition Types.
    In the system, by default some standard  Scheme will be there at Vendor Schema Group in the Vendor Master Screen means the standard one is assigned which is very lengthy which may fullfil our requirement. But some cases which may not fullfil our requirement, in such we have to define.
    For the configuration, I may not able to explain properly through here but will give some Idea.
    Configuration: SPRO-IMG-Material Management- Purchasing- Conditions-Define Price Deternmination Process
    1. Define Access Sequence
    2. Define Condition Type
    3. Defince Calculation Schema:- Here you have to define the Schema
    Define Schema group
    1. Define Schema Group vendor
    2. Define Pricing Schema group
    3.  Schema group for Purchase Organisation
    4. Assign Schema group to Purchase Organisation
    Define Schema determination
    1.define calculation schema for Standard purchase organisation
    After completion of the Schema Group, we have to assign it to Vendors.
    Then whenever we use any transaction with this Vendor, the concerned  Schema will work as configured by us.
    I think this will help you. Actually the Pricing is a vast. Becuase each Condition have its own importance and each Access Sequence have its own importance. So  you need not bother about this. First you learn how to define the Calculation Schema through the above.
    Here we can create many Calculation Schemas which can assign one schema to Local vendors
    another schema to out side vendor one more schema to foreign vendors like that we can classify.

  • I have a hdd from late 2009 that I upgraded from leopard to snow leopard to lion to mountain lion.  I want to upgrade the hdd to ssd.  Do I need to buy a new copy of mountain lion to install on the ssd?  If not, then what is the procedure to transfer?

    I have a hdd from a late 2009 mbp.  I upgraded from leopard to snow leopard to lion to mountain lion.  Now I want to upgrade to a ssd.  Do I need to purchase a new copy of mountain lion to go on my new ssd? If I don't, then what is the procedure to transfer mountain lion with my 4 user accounts onto the new ssd from the hdd?
    I'm confused on if I can use the recovery hd on a thumb drive to install mountain lion on my ssd.  Will it be pheasible with so many OS X upgrades?  And then how do I get my user accounts onto the ssd from the hdd.  Do I use migration assistant?  Do I need to make a time machine backup first?  Should I use something called Carbon Clone or something like that?
    Thanks for reading

    If you have a cable that connects and external HDD to the MBP, it will do.  If it is something like this, an  enclosure will not be needed for the swap:
    An enclosure allows you to use your old HDD for storage or backup purposes.  The cable will not.
    Here are instructions as to how the swap can be performed using DISK UTITY.  Substitute You cable for the enclosure in same:
    INSTALLING A NEW HDD IN A MBP
    1. Make certain that you have backed up all of your important data.
    2. You will need a HDD enclosure.  One with a USB connection will do.  A 9 pin Firewire is better.
    3. Install your new drive in the enclosure and connect it to your MBP.
    4. Open DISK UTILITY>ERASE.  From the left hand column drag the new drive into the 'Name' field.  Make sure that the format is 'Mac OS Extended (Journaled)'.  Click on the 'Erase' button.
    5. Click on the 'Restore' button (on top).  Drag the old drive into the 'Source' field and the new drive into the 'Destination'  field.  Click on the 'Restore' button on the bottom right hand corner.
      Depending upon the amount of data you are transferring, this may take a couple hours or more.  A Firewire will speed up the transfer.  This will result in both drives having identical information on them.
    6. After the data transfer has completed, you may swap the drives.  Start the MBP and you have finished the installation.  The initial boot may take a bit longer than you are accustomed to, but that is normal.
    7. When you are satisfied that the new hard drive if functioning properly, you can erase the old drive and use it for any needs that you may have.
    If there is any confusion on your part, post back.
    Ciao.

  • How can i check if a procedure exists in a certain database version

    So today i became really frustrated after noticing that the Oracle SQL version on some computer I needed to work on was 10.1. The problem with that was that I needed a procedure called "xmlserialize". I browsed the documentation for it, but I didn't see anything like "since 11.0" or something similar.
    So.. how can I see what is the first Oracle SQL version that supported some procedure?
    For example, when I check a class definition for Java, I consult the javadoc :
    http://docs.oracle.com/javase/7/docs/api/java/math/BigInteger.html
    and there there's a field called "Since". For BigInteger ( it's just an example ), it says "Since: JDK1.1", so I know that if I'm using a JDK version earlier that 1.1, I won't have that class.
    Is there some similar information for Oracle procedures/ functions/ features/ etc?

    >
    Let me be more explicit. I've searched for xmlserialize function.
    The only place on the website that holds information regarding this function is this page:

    To paraphrase sybrand - that's utter nonsense. I have never found only one reference to anything on the web.

Escaping of identifiers has also been updated, in accordance with a change to the SQL/XML standard. See "Generating XML Using SQL Functions".

    Dear all,
    I am a new boy on the block too.
    I have been importing and processing holiday raw images onto a macbook creating albums within a single project folder within aperture - many hours spent with plugins and adjustments etc. Now I am home and i would like to import all this processed work into my existing i mac aperture library and avoid two libraries
    What is the best way - can I export and then import the RAW files?
    (For good measure all the original NEF (RAW) files are also saved separately on another hard disk )
    Regards

    Export the projects from the MacBook and import them on to your iMac. Just select the project and export the whole thing.

    Folders per se cannot be imported - only pictures (or movies) in a folder can. So, you have to select a folder containing at least one picture or movie (all pictures and movies found are automatically selected when the import dialog opens). This is probably not the case for the folder you want to add, so "no photos found" is displayed in the dialog center and the "Import" button is greyed out.

  • Import/Export a schema in Stored Procedure

    Can I execute an import or export a schema from within a stored procedure?

    One last question.
    I'm now testing doing an import and when I run my procedure I'm getting an error from within the DBMS_DATAPUMP procedure. Here it is:
    Error report:
    ORA-39001: invalid argument value
    ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_SYS_ERROR", line 79
    ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_DATAPUMP", line 2953
    ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_DATAPUMP", line 4132
    ORA-06512: at line 47
    39001. 00000 - "invalid argument value"
    *Cause:    The user specified API parameters were of the wrong type or
    value range. Subsequent messages supplied by
    DBMS_DATAPUMP.GET_STATUS will further describe the error.
    *Action:   Correct the bad argument and retry the API.
    Here is the procedure I'm running:
    DECLARE
         v_dp_job_handle                    NUMBER ;          -- Data Pump job handle
         v_count                              NUMBER ;          -- Loop index
         v_percent_done                    NUMBER ;          -- Percentage of job complete
         v_job_state                         VARCHAR2(30) ;     -- To keep track of job state
         v_message                         KU$_LOGENTRY ;     -- For WIP and error messages
         v_job_status                    KU$_JOBSTATUS ;     -- The job status from get_status
         v_status                         KU$_STATUS ;     -- The status object returned by get_status
         v_logfile                         NUMBER ;
         v_date                              VARCHAR2(13) ;
    BEGIN
    v_project := 'TEST' ;
         v_date := '03272009_1048' ;
         /* IMPORT */
         /* OPEN THE DATAPUMP PROCEDURE */
         v_dp_job_handle := DBMS_DATAPUMP.OPEN(
              OPERATION     => 'IMPORT',
              JOB_MODE     => 'SCHEMA',
              --REMOTE_LINK => v_desitination_server_name,
              JOB_NAME     => v_project||'_IMP_'||v_date,
              VERSION          => 'LATEST') ;
         /* ADD THE NAME OF THE DUMP FILE TO THE DATAPUMP PROCEDURE */
         DBMS_DATAPUMP.ADD_FILE(
              HANDLE          => v_dp_job_handle,
              FILENAME     => v_project||'_EXP_'||v_date||'.DMP',
              DIRECTORY     => 'DATAPUMP') ;
         /* ADD THE NAME OF THE IMPORT LOG FILE TO THE DATAPUMP PROCEDURE */
         DBMS_DATAPUMP.ADD_FILE(
              HANDLE          => v_dp_job_handle,
              FILENAME     => v_project||'_IMP_'||v_date||'.LOG',
              DIRECTORY     => 'DATAPUMP',
              FILETYPE     => DBMS_DATAPUMP.KU$_FILE_TYPE_LOG_FILE) ;
         /* ADD THE NAME OF THE SCHEMA TO IMPORT TO THE DATAPUMP PROCEDURE */
         DBMS_DATAPUMP.METADATA_FILTER(
              HANDLE          => v_dp_job_handle,
              NAME          => 'SCHEMA_EXPR',
              VALUE          => 'TEST2' ) ;
         /* START THE IMPORT */
         DBMS_DATAPUMP.START_JOB(v_dp_job_handle) ;
         /* END THE DATAPUMP PROCEDURE */
         DBMS_DATAPUMP.DETACH(v_dp_job_handle) ;
    END ;
    My guess is the parameter that it doesn't like is the VALUE parameter in the METADATA_FILTER section. What I want to do is export the TEST schema and then import it back into the same database into a new TEST2 schema. How can I do that?
    Thanks for your help!

    I have an iphone 4 with videos on it that I'd like to transfer to an IMac so that I can email them.  (the iphone isn't in use anymore.)  What's the procedure for transfering videos from an iphone to an iMac?

    Connect the iPhone to your Mac with its USB cable and launch iPhoto.  In iPhoto you can select which files to upload into the library.  Once in the library export them out of iPhoto to a folder on the Desktop via File ➙ Export ➙ File Export  with Kind=Original. That will give you copies of the videos in the folder for use outside of iPhoto.
    If you want to bypass importing into iPhoto try launching Image Capture and manually upload the selected video files to the folder of your choice.
