Import limited rows from dmp file
I am using oracle 10g. Due to an error, I have to skip a particular row from import. I've already imported the rows before the one to be skipped. Plz suggest how to import the remaining rows.

Regarding ssis - Filter first 5 rows from flat file
Hi,
i have a requirement like this every day we receive 10-15 Flat files , we need to load these data into SQL Table ,here nothing is complex for this we need to use foreachloop Container,Dataflowtask..etc. here the issue is each flat file have top 5 rows has
Client information like ( We need to delete First 5 rows) and then insert into SQL Table . please suggest me how to develope the package..You need to use a script task to read file one by one and remove the first 5 rows from the file. The file name/path can be stored as a variable and read it from the script code. Insert the script task inside the foreach loop container just before importing
the file.

How to insert data from *.dmp file to oracle 11g using Oracle SQL Develope
hi
i backup my database using PL/SQL developer and made *.dmp file
how to insert data from *.dmp file to oracle 11g using Oracle SQL Developer 2.1.1.64
and how to make *.dmp file from sql*plus ?
thanks in advancePl/Sql developer has a config window, there you choose the exec to do the import/export.
Find it and his home version, it may be exp or expdp, the home version is the version of the client where the exp executable is.
Then use the same version of imp or impdp to execute the import, you do not need to use Oracle SQL Developer 2.1.1.64. If you want to use it, you must have the same version in the oracle home that exp/imp of sql developer use. -
How to retrieve rows from .csv file
Hi
I need to retrieve rows from .csv file , anybody's kind support is greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Khiz_enga .csv file is just a comma delimited text file. each row contains data separated by a comma. To read this information in, do as Hartmut suggested to your earlier post on this exact topic. "I would read that file with a FileReader / BufferedReader and parse each line with StringTokenizer. This would be quite the same like working through a result set." For more info on how to read text files, see any java book or browse through the i/o tutorial.

How to import a logo from flat file to SAP in SMARTFORM.
how to import a logo from flat file to SAP in SMARTFORM. i need to know whether TIFF format is used and also the full steps.
Thanks,Hi,
You can not directly use a logo from a file into a Smart form. First you will have to upload it to SAP. This has to be done only once. Once it is imported into SAP then you can use it in smart form. To import a logo to SAP, goto SE78. Open the tree under GRAPHICS. Select the file type and click on the Import (first button on the toolbar, just before delete button). Select the logo file and give it some appropriate name along with description. Select appropriate type of the image and click Continue. Your logo will be uploaded into SAP from a file. Now in your smartform, Create a Graphic Node, give the name of the logo along with other properties. In this way you can import a logo from a flat file into SAP and consequently in a smart form.
Reward points if the answer is helpful.

# Example INIT.ORA file
# This file is provided by Oracle Corporation to help you customize
# your RDBMS installation for your site. Important system parameters
# are discussed, and example settings given.
# Some parameter settings are generic to any size installation.
# For parameters that require different values in different size
# installations, three scenarios have been provided: SMALL, MEDIUM
# and LARGE. Any parameter that needs to be tuned according to
# installation size will have three settings, each one commented
# according to installation size.
# Use the following table to approximate the SGA size needed for the
# three scenarious provided in this file:
# -------Installation/Database Size------
# SMALL MEDIUM LARGE
# Block 2K 4500K 6800K 17000K
# Size 4K 5500K 8800K 21000K
# To set up a database that multiple instances will be using, place
# all instance-specific parameters in one file, and then have all
# of these files point to a master file using the IFILE command.
# This way, when you change a public
# parameter, it will automatically change on all instances. This is
# necessary, since all instances must run with the same value for many
# parameters. For example, if you choose to use private rollback segments,
# these must be specified in different files, but since all gc_*
# parameters must be the same on all instances, they should be in one file.
# INSTRUCTIONS: Edit this file and the other INIT files it calls for
# your site, either by using the values provided here or by providing
# your own. Then place an IFILE= line into each instance-specific
# INIT file that points at this file.
# NOTE: Parameter values suggested in this file are based on conservative
# estimates for computer memory availability. You should adjust values upward
# for modern machines.

PT recover from .dmp file?
Hi,
All of a sudden PT crashed and prompted me to save the dump file, do anyone know how to recover my topology from .dmp file?
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
ChanduLooking at the screenshot you posted above, it suggests the .dmp is a diagnostic file which will allow someone with knowledge to find out why PT crashed. It makes no mention of the actual topology being saved into or with the .dmp file.
I would suggest that unless you saved the topology, you will have to recreate it. -

I export data and create a DMP file on daily basis
I import data from this DMP to an other computer but some data import duplicate records.
I want to aviod duplicate records
what should I doYou receive duplicate errors when some unique key in the record (probably but not necessarily the primary key) already exists with a value that duplicates a value already in the database. You have at least 3 options.
1) Ignore the errors. You will get lots of errors and the duplicates will not be imported.
2) Delete all records from the tables before you do the import. Old data will be lost, but you will get no errors.
3) Use fromuser= and touser= to put the data into a different schema then use a merge to update the table data.
By the way this is not the correct forum for this question. -

SQL and PL/SQL FAQ -
Dear Masters/Gurus/All,
We are using oracle 10.2.04 version on HP UNIX.
We have a specific requirement to prepare CSV file from oracle dump(DMP File).

Dear All,
Thanks for reply and kindly accept my apologies for delayed in reply.
let me explain little background.
In a telecom domain for every customer there are multiple records exists with respect to calls on any particular day if you consider. On few tables the production dba will take the schema/table backup. But the end users/customer care people's application is designed in such a way that, it can read data from CSV format.
Because of this reason I like to know the process of reading data from dump file and convert it into CSV file.
Thanks,

Edited by: KODS on Apr 1, 2013 4:34 PMDoesn't matter. A dmp file can ONLY be read by the import utility. If you want a csv file, you'll need to import the dump file back into a database, then create your csv file from there.
Or create the csv file instead of the dump file in the first place. -
