  • How do I import music from a flash drive that was formatted with a windows PC to my MacBook?

How do I import music from a flash drive that was formatted with a windows PC to my MacBook - the drive is showing it has over 3GB of info on it but none of the files are showing up in finder?  I had backed up my iTunes library on the flash drive about a year and a half ago before I switched from a dell to a MacBook pro.

What I found works for me is to make sure iTunes keeps the music files organzied in the iTunes Media folder according to album, artists, etc. and that it copies the music files there when adding them to the library.  That way, if something happens to the library, the raw files can always be re-imported again.

  • Using External CD Rom drive to import music from CD to Itune

I have itunes 6.0 on an XP laptop, and an external TDK DVD/CDrom drive. Itunes imports music from CDs when I use the drive on the laptop, however, only imports links (seem like URL links) when I use the external drive to import music from a CD into a playlist.
I am trying to use the external CD rom drive for importing music into Itunes, but there seems to be a problem, or I have not checked some box or the other. Can someone help??
    Thanks

First, Jaguar does not come on a DVD. The standard Jaguar release comes on two CDs. What you probably have is a gray color OEM DVD or a copy that was made for a specific Mac model and will not work with your computer. Furthermore, in order to run OS X on your computer you must first install a firmware update.
You also need at least 128 MBs of RAM for OS X and at least 3 GBs of free space on the hard drive during installation. Your particular model requires that OS X be installed on a drive or partition that is less than 8 GBs. If your hard drive is larger than 8 GBs it must be partitioned such that the first partition is no larger than 7.85 GBs and OS X must be installed in that partition. The drive must also be formatted Mac OS Extended (HFS+).
Furthermore, you cannot boot OS X from a USB drive, only from a Firewire drive.
You will need to get the correct Jaguar installers. You can purchase the right package at www.applerescue.com. Your particular model is compatible with Panther thru 10.3.9. Panther would be a better choice than Jaguar because it is much faster even on your iMac. However, OS X will not be very fast on your computer because it lacks CPU speed and video horsepower. If you continue to install OS X, then you should plan to install the maximum of 512 MBs of RAM that iMac supports.

  • Problem importing music from audio CD

I upgraded to i-tunes 7.4.3.1 & since then cannot import audio CDs. The audio cd is recognised in Devices, I can see all the tracks, I can import the tracks, they appear in the Library but they will not play. Each imported track is shown in the library as being 789.57.13 duration. If I try to play the tracks it jumps to the next track in the Library and plays that.
I ran the CD diagnostics and the results are pasted below. I would appreciate any help as this is SO frustrating!! Thanks.

  • Is there a way to import music from my ipod to the computer?

is there a way to import music from my ipod to the camputer?
I have music from all over the world and i want to import all of it to my computer..

Sorry for insulting Apple. This whole thing has me frustrated. You would think that this is an easy thing...which it is after downloading the third party software and all.
I am just a bit edgy after talking to 3 customer support folks for almost 2 hours, who I could barely understand and then having them just tell me to download the files again. 3500+ songs...jumping out the window was looking more pleasant (jk). Now I have to explain to the wife why the phone is busted in-two...lol.
Anyway, I was able to get hooked up with some software and it seems to be downloading fine. I am using iPodCopy. Thanks for the nudge in the right direction and putting up with a bit of attitude. I am sure they have their reasons for not making this an easier operation.

  • Can you import music from an itunes from one computer to another?

can you import music from itunes on one computer to another?

There are a number of things you could do. One would be to network the to computers and transfer your iTunes folder from one to another. You can also use your iPod as a hard drive and move the folder with it though that would be considerably slower than computer to computer. Here are a few links that may help you out:

  • ITunes freezes when importing music from CD and also when playing,

Just recently iTunes has started to freeze when importing music from a CD - it just stops and the progress bar remains as it it. The whole mac then freezes and I get the spinning beachball. I can't use any other application. The same thing is happening when I play music - it's ok for a song or two and then freeze and the beachball appears. I've downloaded iTunes again and reinstalled and it's just the same. Using Safari and Mail etc is no problem at the moment.
I also have a problem getting the iMac to recognise external hard drives - it won't show them on either firewire 400 or 800. I can see my 1TB drive using usb ( it shows up on the desktop, whereas on firewire it doesn't do this) but if I try to open it and see the contents in finder, it opens, but doesn't dispaly the contents of the drive. I can see the disk size but just get a grey spinning wheel in the bottom right hand of the finder window. Timemachine does not work.

I have had the same problem & itunes crashes when i try to import a file. Now i can't even start itune. I've reinstalled itunes so many times, without a fix, I've lost count.
I did post and had no reply. I'll watch this post with interest.

  • Is it possible for me to import music from my pc?

I have been able to import any music off of my pc that I had downloaded from the internet. The problem is that it seems all of my full albums (wva files) say they are downloading, but I cannot find them in my itunes library. The only thing that has worked so far is burning the wva files onto a disc from my pc, and then downloading them to my itunes library on my mac.
    I have already tried:
    1-File sharing on the network
2-Using a flash drive to transfer
    What can/should I do?

HELP! I am using a Mac running OS 10.4.10 NOT a PC.
Somehow my question got lost as I did NOT ask "Is it possible for me to import music from my pc?"
    Here's my question again:
I want to place a piece of music that I purchased from iTunes [ocean sounds] in iWeb AND to play that sound clip continutously.
In iTunes I am able to have the sound repeat. In iTunes, with the repeat song selected, I dragged the clip from iTunes into iWeb.
In iWeb I am able to play the ocean sounds but the piece does NOT repeat.
    A. How do I get the piece to play continuously?
    B. How do I enable the sound to begin playing when the iWeb page is opened?
    Thanks

  • Transferring music from flash drive

My old laptop died but luckily my hard drive was intact so I was able to transfer my itunes to a flash drive. Now that I have a new computer, how do i transfer music from flash drive to itunes on my new computer (windows)?

    Drag and drop.
When I moved music from my old to new computer I just dragged the files into the 'my music' folder on my computer. Then did have to import the folder into iTunes.
If you have a lot of playlists etc, I believe there is another way that'll preserve more of that info. I'm not familiar with it since I don't use the playlist feature.

  • Importing music from CD

I am Running XP and Itunes 5
I have been busy importing music from my CD collection which because of lack of space has to be stored away. Recently I have found that when inserting a cd in the cd drive Itunes will not recognise that their is a cd there.
When using other media players they all recognise the cd, I have removed as much as I can in the way of audio software just in case there is a conflict but to no avail.
This appears to be intermittent but I have not managed to determine or identify any common thread that could lead to the development of the problem.
I also appear to be unable to import music files that have been previously stored on my PC. When I open the folder/s they appear to be empty yet I know they contain the audio tracks I am looking for. I suspect it is something to do with the format of the stored files which are either MP3 or WAV files.
    Any help would be appreciatted

You need to be connected to the Internet and also have iTunes unblocked by any of your security programs.
    Also try:
    - Select (highlight) all songs on an Album
    - Advanced=>Get CD Track Namne
That will attempt to force a query to the CDDB (Gracenote)
