Import of BC4J based libraries

We are developing a pretty big system on top of the BC4J framework. That's why we decided to split the system (functionality) over several projects. Some of these smaller projects depend on other projects. At first we ran into some difficulties because JDeveloper doesn't handle inter-project dependencies very nice. Someone suggested (thank you!) to JAR the compiled class files and entities and import this JAR file in the project that depends on certain entities / class files in the JAR file. So that's what we are doing right now, and it seems to work fine.
Now my question... As I said we are developing a pretty big system, so I'm not the only developer. That's why we use CVS for source control. CVS allows you to checkout a certain repository anywhere on your harddrive. Ofcourse every developer is a person and every person is different so not all developers checkout the system's repository at the same location. But like I said some projects need the JAR'ed libraries of other projects. But when I try to add the libraries to a project an absolute path is used. When I save the project in CVS and another developer does a checkout he doesn't necessarily have the libraries at the exact same absolute path. If we could use a relative path we could all use the same relative path to save the libraries and it wouldn't be a problem on which harddrive, in which directory we would checkout the repository. Ofcourse we could save the JAR's in the depending projects repository, but we don't want that (it shouldn't be saved in CVS because it is not always up-to-date with the source code and we don't want to save it multiple times). How can we use relative paths? Because normally JDeveloper saves the absolute path in the project file (if you import certain entities).

Peter

Hi Kenneth,
Please follow the following steps:
1. Login into the QA system and go to trsansaction code stms_import.
2. Place a filter over project colum for the required project.
3. Next select the Import All icon. You will see the resulting pop-up has the entry for the concerned project.
4. Create the periodic import job as per your requirement.
Regards.

  • BC4J class libraries installation problem

    Hi,
    I've created CMD entity bean with JDeveloper 3.2 and want to deploy it to Oracle 8i(8.1.7) server. The problem is it stopp loading classes to server after a while.
    Could the cause of this be the size of java pool size? i've set it to 64 MB and even increase other SGA memory part.
    Thanx in advance.
    /Hoa

    You will need to make sure that all of the following parameters in your init.ora file are pretty large to deploy EJBs and BC4J runtime libraries to 8.1.7:
    java_pool_size
    large_pool_size
    shared_pool_size
    I would make them as large as you possibly can. Here's what I have in my init.ora file:
    shared_pool_size = 72428800
    java_pool_size = 60971520
    large_pool_size = 100000000
    This is an 8.1.7 instance running on a Sun E450 with tons of disk space and memory, so my numbers may not work for your environment. I just took whatever was there by default and bumped it up by a lot.
    But I got errors during deployment which indicated what the problem was. If you are not getting errors, your problem could be something else. But try setting all three of the above and see if this helps.
    You might check the Oracle8i 8.1.7 online docs to see if they have any recommendations in the Enterprise Java Beans Developer's Guide.

    Where is the import button for homesharing libraries?

    Or, if by any chance what you are trying to do is to import (rip) a CD...   insert the CD, let it register in iTunes, and then "Import CD" will appear at the upper right as shown.

  • Can Aperture make JPEG dupes of imported RAW automatically based on camera?

    I have a specific DSLR which I shoot with. I guess most photographers might also have 2 or more DSLRs they shoot with as well. Usually one older than the other as a second body or back up.
    When I import RAW images to Aperture 2.x, I would like Aperture (either automatically or triggered by me) to process the importing/imported images to a default JPEG duplicate copy of the RAW. In other words, rather than shooting JPEG+RAW, I would rather just shoot all RAW and when those RAWs enter Aperture, I would like it to make JPEG duplicates. I realize I may loose JPEG quality but this is not essential as if an image selected for use, I will custom process that image and convert to JPEG.
    Obviously, I would like those dupes to not be strait dupes of the RAW but, on a basic level, when the conversion happens, also adjust them based on a basic set of color corrections, etc. like the camera might do when making a JPEG in camera. So the conversion is more specific to the RAW coming from the specific camera model.
    Can Aperture do this? and how do I set this up? It seems like this ability should be built in or a plug in. It would be camera specific though. A setting for a Nikon D300 would do this "make JPEG dupes of RAW imports" different from a setting for a Sony A700 "make JPEG dupes of RAW imports".
    I envision a plug in or free list of default import settings you can save for specific cameras. Something akin to color palettes for design programs based on specific printers. For Epson XYZ printer I can download the Pantone color palettes for that printer and install them in InDesign, etc. Plug in conversion settings for specific DSLR bodies.

    I'm not aware of any way to have Aperture generate hi-quality jpegs automatically from the raw file. Maybe there is someway to script it, but I'm not that much of an expert to advise you on that. It will generate a jpeg as the other poster indicated, but it's not a hi-quality file. The jpegs rendered from the embedded raw file are only about 500k, so obviously they are not of the highest quality.
    Regarding the metadata, everything is there; camera model, res, aperture, shutter, and a myriad of other things. What's not there is the Nikon specialized stuff like custom picture controls, custom white balance, d-lighting and some others. If you use these features and like the raw converter in NX, you will find it necessary to use either the hi-quality jpegs from the camera (assuming you create them when you shoot) or have NX or View render and save jpegs or Tiffs from the Nikon NEF's. I've decided to shoot Raw+JPEG, import to Aperture using referenced libraries, make a new master from the JPEG and this separates the JPEG from the NEF in Aperture allowing you to see and use either. If the JPEGS are satisfactory, use them. If not, you have options; tweak the NEF in Aperture, show the NEF in finder, and drop into NX and tweak the raw with Nikon's proprietary camera controls and raw features then save out as Tiff or JPEG and drop back into Aperture. If you like Aperture's raw renderer enough to forego Nikon's picture controls, custom white balance, d-lighting etc..., you can skip the whole Nikon thing and just import the raw files. Come up with some custom settings and stamp the lot. Batch export the project to jpeg and drop them back into Aperture when finished. I think it's best to just let the camera create the RAW-JPEG. If you get good files or just need minor tweak, fix-lift and stamp and you're done. If not you have lots of options. JMO

  • How do I import part of my libraries from iphoto and itunes from iCloud?

    I just downsized and bought a mac book and am wanting to import music and photos from my old mac book pro.  The problem is that I only want to import part of each library.  The libraries of both apps were really out of control and had duplicates and unwanted photos, etc.  Can someone help me please?

    for purchases from the iTunes store do this:
    connect your device and right-click or control-click it in the iTunes Source list, then choose transfer purchases from the shortcut menu that appears.
    for everything else check out this post by Zevoneer.

  • Importing third-party java libraries

    I have just downloaded jakarta httpclient and am trying to get it to work with a program I am writing. Are there instructions somewhere on importing third-party libraries? I've searched these forums, the tutorials, and even google and haven't found any. Or can someone just tell me how to do it?
    Basically I have a folder with a list of java files. I run javac program.java to compile and then java program. The one thing I have seen in these forums is about setting the classpath, but no specifics on what to set it to. Basically I have a folder with the source called java. The only subfolder there is org, the next subfolder is apache, next is commons, then httpcliet, and then all the actual java files with a few other folders with the java files in them. It gives examples in the folder src which is the parent of java. In src there is a folder called examples. The relevent import statements are:
    import org.apache.commons.httpclient.HttpClient;
    import org.apache.commons.httpclient.MultiThreadedHttpConnectionManager;
    import org.apache.commons.httpclient.methods.GetMethod;These are all valid files under the folder system, yet it gives me the error : package org.apache.commons.httpclient does not exist for the first 2 and package org.apache.commons.httpclient.methods does not exist.
    There are also errors resulting from it not recognizing the import statements. Can someone help me please?

    I had a choice between source and binary, if I
    download the binary, should I put the jar file inthe
    folder with the rest of my *.java files?You can, but I'd advise against it because it gets
    messy and confusing.
    Or do I have
    to put the whole folder (with the API, liscense,
    readme, etc. in it) in the same folder as MY codeor
    do I just need the .jar file? You just need the jar file. Don't unpack the jar
    file; the standard java libraries know how to deal
    with a jar file just fine.
    More-or-less standard practice would be to create a
    directory hierarchy like this:
    project_name/
    project_name/lib/
    project_name/src/
    project_name/classes/
    Put the jar files in project_name/lib. Put your java
    source files (the ones that you're creating) into
    src/, and when you compile, put the compiled class
    files into classes/ (use the -d option to javac to do
    that). When you compile and run, include both the
    classes/ directory and the jar files (note: NOT the
    lib/ directory, specify the individual .jar files) in
    the classpath.So do I need the absolute path of the .jar file? If I were to put it in the same folder as my source could I just specify as
    javac -classpath whateverjar.jar MyFile.java
    or do I have to do javac -classpath C:\my folder\my other folder\etc\projectName\lib\whateverjar.jar MyFile.java?
    Thanks

  • Getting invalid-attribute-value Error during Delta Import on Call-based ECMA2

    I'm developing an ECMA2 MA to which supports delta imports.  I have found very few samples of working code to do delta imports, so my attempts are created
    using a lot of trial and error... Any samples of working Call based MA's with delta support would be much appreciated :-)
    The data is located in a SQL server and the schema (for delta) is like this (simplified):
    EmpID string
    Status string
    UPDATESTATUS string (<-- This is the update column with values New/Update/Delete)
    For each EmpID, there may be multiple Status values, i.e. Status should be imported into a multi value attribute in FIM.
    For the full import this is working as expected, but I run into issues when attempting to do the delta imports
    The code for the delta import
    private
    GetImportEntriesResults GetImportEntries_Delta(GetImportEntriesRunStep importRunStep)
    GetImportEntriesResults importReturnInfo;
    List<CSEntryChange> csentries =
    new List<CSEntryChange>();
    string employeeID =
    null;
    string appStatus =
    null;
    string currEmployeeID =
    CSEntryChange csentry =
    null;
    List<string> appStatusList =
    new List<string>();
    string changeMode =
    for (int i = currentReadRecord; i <= da.Tables["AppStatus"].Rows.Count - 1; i++)
    if (currEmployeeID != da.Tables["AppStatus"].Rows[i].ItemArray.GetValue(0).ToString().Trim())
    if (currEmployeeID !=
    "") // this should be true except for the first run
    csentry.AttributeChanges.Add(AttributeChange.CreateAttributeUpdate("IdentityStores", appStatusList));
    csentries.Add(csentry);
    appStatusList = new
    List<string>();
    if (csentries.Count >= m_importPageSize)
                  currentReadRecord = i;
    importReturnInfo = new
    GetImportEntriesResults();
    importReturnInfo.MoreToImport = (i <= da.Tables["AppStatus"].Rows.Count - 1);
    importReturnInfo.CSEntries = csentries;
    return importReturnInfo;
    changeMode = da.Tables["AppStatus"].Rows[i].ItemArray.GetValue(2).ToString().Trim();
    csentry = CSEntryChange.Create();
    csentry.ObjectType = "ApplicationIdentity";
    employeeID = da.Tables["AppStatus"].Rows[i].ItemArray.GetValue(0).ToString().Trim();
    currEmployeeID = (string)employeeID;
    switch (changeMode)
    case "New":
    csentry.ObjectModificationType = ObjectModificationType.Add;
    csentry.AttributeChanges.Add(AttributeChange.CreateAttributeAdd("EmployeeID", employeeID));
    break;
    case "Update":
    csentry.ObjectModificationType = ObjectModificationType.Update;
    csentry.DN = employeeID;
    break;
    case "Delete":
    csentry.ObjectModificationType = ObjectModificationType.Delete;
                         csentry.DN = employeeID;
    break;
    default:
    throw new
    UnexpectedDataException(string.Format("Unknown modification type: {0}", changeMode));
    appStatus = da.Tables["AppStatus"].Rows[i].ItemArray.GetValue(1).ToString().Trim();
    appStatusList.Add(appStatus);
    // save the last object
    if (csentry != null)
    csentry.AttributeChanges.Add(AttributeChange.CreateAttributeUpdate("IdentityStores", appStatusList));
    csentries.Add(csentry);
    importReturnInfo = new
    GetImportEntriesResults();
    importReturnInfo.MoreToImport = false;
    importReturnInfo.CSEntries = csentries;
    return importReturnInfo;
    The code compiles and executes, but the delta import fails with the "invalid-attribute-value" message per csentry.
    From the eventlog I have the following message
    The server encountered an unexpected error while performing an operation for a management agent.
    "System.InvalidCastException: Unable to cast object of type 'System.Collections.Generic.List`1[System.String]' to type 'System.String'.

    To me it seems as if FIM is unable to process the List of strings that is returned when processing the delta. Remember that this works OK when doing the full import.
    Do you have any suggestions as to why this fails?

  • Importing photos into multiple libraries

    I have multiple users on the same mac, and was hoping there was a way to import photos and have them be added to all users' iphoto libraries. I know there are ways to share one library among many users, but I want all the users to be able to have separate libraries (ratings, albums, etc.) with new photos being added to all.
    Thanks for any help!
    Dave
    iMac (intel)   Mac OS X (10.4.5)

    Hi dave,
    Easiest way is to download the photos using Image Capture. Put them in a dated folder. Import that folder into iPhoto.
    Now drag that folder to your Shared folder where others can then import the folder into iPhoto from there. (I am pretty sure it will work this way)
    You might even be able to choose the shared folder as the download folder with Image Capture, where you all can then import into your respective iPhotos from there. I keep all my folders of downloaded images named with the date and identifying text. when I have enough to burn, I burn them to CD or DVD. This is a good way to have a backup of just the images.
    To find out more about Image Capture (it can do a lot more) Click on Help in the menu bar when Image Capture is open.

  • How do I import music from other libraries on the same computer?

    We have four separate accounts created on our iMac for four different users. Each of these accounts has an iTunes library associated with it. I would like to be able to import music from one iTunes library to another. I would be grateful for any help!

    To give other users read-only access to your iTunes library, use the Sharing features of iTunes. Sharing works over the local network as well as on the same computer. See the built-in help for details.
    If you want to give full read/write access to more than one user, see the support article linked below.
    iTunes: How to share music between different accounts on a single computer
    There is a way to share the library without moving it to a secondary volume. If you really need to do that, ask for instructions.

    You don't have some required jar (one containing classes from that package) in your classpath. Or you have a different version of those jars, and that version doesn't have the classes from that package.
    Hard to tell without my crystal ball being in the shop. I can't see your classpath nor the files/jars that are in it.
