Import Oryx BPMN in Oracle BPA

Hi All,
I am new to Oracle BPM world. I have a business requirement to import the Oryx BPMN process in Oracle BPA.
I already have the Oryx export files in .bpmn and .xpdl format. Now how to use and import these files in Oracle BPA?
Request you to please guide on this.
Thanks
RJ

Heres what i did.
Created a bpmn process in bpa,
then went to the menu bar, click on soa > transform the process to bpel , then after that is done, went to the same menu bar , clicked on soa > share blue print with IT.
After that in Jdev, when creating a new composite, i selected the option "create composite for ORACLE bpa blue print" ,
Then established connection to the bpa repository, chose the database, and then the bpmn process, and voila , the process got created in jdev.

    Hi Ivan
Since the type has no name... seams buggy...
You should open a TAR. Otherwise you can investigate the problem by generating a trace with the following statement:
ALTER SESSION SET EVENTS '31098 TRACE NAME CONTEXT FOREVER'

  • Import Oracle BPA model (EPC) to Oracle BPM 11G

    Hi,
I have my business process modeled using Oracle BPA product (EPC format). Now I need to import this model into Oracle BPM 11G which uses BPMN 2.0 format. Does any of the softwares provide a way to transform EPC models to BPMN 2.0 format.
These are the some of the approaches that I tried to perform the conversion:
    1. Use share blueprint option for EPC model
Issue with this approach: The model imorted in jdeveloper is not BPMN 2.0 format, It is .xpdl file
    2. Installed tutor macros on Oracle BPA, however this macro is enabled only for BPMN 2.0 process models, not for collobration models. Recreating the entire model as BPMN 2.0 Process model (I don't prefer this approach since this include manual conversion of the models from EPC) also does not work.
Issue with this approach: After importing model in OBPM is all activities appear as human task, new human task is created for start and stop activities along with start and stop events.
    3. Use share blueprint option in Oracle BPA, this works only for BPMN 1.0 formats.
Issue with this approach: The SOA -> share blueprint option is not enabled for BPMN 2.0 type models
Ideal solution for me would be if there is a way to import the models created in EPC format into oracle BPM 11g without recreating the models manually. Can anyone help me with this?

    Hi,
Actually it's tool couldn't help you resolve your tasks.
It hasn't options "share blueprint" for BPMN 2.0 type models.
And I don't know software which can transform EPC model to BPMN 2.0 model...

  • Will Oracle BPA support full BPMN 2.0 ?

Will Oracle BPA support full BPMN 2.0 and its conversion into BPEL 2.0 in new releases ? Or is it better to use JDeveloper with it BPM extension?

    Hi,
Depends on what you expect from Oracle.
+11gR1 and 11gR2 are fully supported (premier support). 10gR1 and 10gR2 are in extended support. About 9.2 it's a bit more complicated and the general extended support ended : check note 161818.1 for further details.+
After the extended support there is still the sustaining support.
Read that to understand the notions :

  • Oracle BPA Publisher

    Hi,
I have installed Oracle BPA Architecture and Publisher in my machine. I have gone for the standard installation which will take the Olite database as the business repository.
I would like to know how can I import a model which is developed in the architecture to the publisher.
In the documents it is written like we have to connect to the repository. ?How can we connect the repository for the publisher.?
Only the models developed in the architecture can imported in to publisher or can I do the same with some other reference models.?
When I am opening the login page of the Publisher I can see a statement like " Oracle Business Process Publisher -
*Currently, no exports are available. You can only log in to the administration area at this time.* Why it is showing like this?
Please help me on this issue.
    Thanks,

    Hi,
in the administration view in the Architect you have to open the context menu by right click on the database you want to publish.
In the occuring menu there is an entry to publish your db.

  • Oracle BPA change management

    Hello,
Our customer wants to have full business process management cycle - from modeling to executing. So they want to model processes in Oracle BPA and to execute them in Oracle BPEL PM. That is why they decided to create BPEL process models in BPA, export them to BPEL files, make necessary changes in JDeveloper and deploy processes to Oracle BPEL PM.
But there is a question about change management in BPA.
Let's say, we have a BPEL process model diagram, which was exported into executable BPEL file and used in JDeveloper for development. After some time we decide to change our BPEL diagram in BPA. As I understand, there are no relationships between Oracle BPA and Jdeveloper, so if we export this updated BPEL diagram into executable than we have to make changes to the executable BPEL by ourselves?
    Victor

    Hi Paul,
bi-directional change management is available since BPA/JDev R11. You can mainly achieve the following:
    1. Send BPMN from BPA Suite to JDev/BPEL and enriech it later there
    2. Reverse engineering from an existing BPEL process into BPA Suite as BPMN
    3. Send a change request over from BPA Suite to JDev/BPEL and review/accept it there
    4. Send a change request over from JDev/BPEL to BPA Suite and review/accept it here.
Please send me your email address to receive details on these processes, my email address you can get out of my profile.
    Best Regards

  • Updating the blueprint on oracle bpa using Jdeveloper

I have seen articles that after importing blueprint from oracle BPA repository with JDeveloper, the user can make changes to it in JDeveloper and update the blueprint at the oracle BPA repository. The updates will appear as suggestions at the BPA side.
Anyone knows where can I find tutorials on this?

    Hello,
I have exactly the same problem! Any hints for a workaround?

  • Import OLE methods in Oracle Forms 6i

    Hi,
I am experiencing some problems to import OLE methods in Oracle

In Forms 6i, I select Program->Import OLE Library Interfaces
menu option. After the Import OLE Library Interfaces dialog box
appears, I can see the OLE Class that I would like to access
but none of its methods or events.
Why the methods and events do not appear?
    Thanks in advance.

If all you want to do is extract the documents from the Long Raw columns, you can use UTL_FILE to extract the binary content to the file system. You would have to loop through the records in your table to extract each file. Take a look at article Export BLOB Contents Using UTL_FILE that I googled. Granted, this article discusses exporting a BLOB not a Long Raw, but the concept is the same and you should be able to modify the code sample in the article to work with your Long Raw columns.
    Hope this helps,
    Craig B-)

Import has a lot of options, so it depends on what you want to do.
    C:\> imp help=y
will show you all possible options. An example of full import :
    C:\> imp <username>/<password>@<TNS alias> file=<DMP file> full=y log=<LOG file>

  • Need help setting up an Oracle BPA Local Server

I would like to make my computer the server and enable other users to connect to my Oracle BPA database. Is there an easy way to setup my computer? I tried having another user add my IP address as the server location using the "Add Server" option in the menu but that did not work. Do I need to change any settings?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
The Business erver / Repository Server is not the part of Oracle BPA offering as of now
Oracle calls Business Server as Repository Server. And its different product and need a different licenses
And the bad news is it isnt avaliable any where else for download.
the products in Oracle BPA package are originally part of IDS Scheer's ARIS product range.
And IDS does not gives any evaluation copies (atleast in india), thanks to Oracle that they have made BPA suite avaliable for evaluation.
So if you wish to experiment with Repository Server you have two ways either buy it from IDS or wait for Oracle to offer the evaluation version, i wont suggest buying something that you havnt tried :)

  • Can I import a tablespace into Oracle 10g Express Edition

I am very new to Oracle 10g Express Edition. We have a server running Oracle Enterprise Edition and we have been creating a transportable tablespace to be imported into a few servers. This works fine for us. I would like to find out if I can import the tablespace into Oracle 10g Express Edition. Someone told me that I should be able to do that but I have no clue to how to do it. If this is possible, can someone tell where to find the information how to do this.
    Thanks,
    RJ

I finally tried it and I got the following errors:
IMP-00017: following statement failed with ORACLE error 721:
    "BEGIN sys.dbms_plugts.checkCompType('COMPATSG','10.2.0.2.0'); END;"
    IMP-00003: ORACLE error 721 encountered
ORA-00721: changes by release 10.2.0.2.0 cannot be used by release 10.2.0.1.0
    ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_PLUGTS", line 2004
    ORA-06512: at line 1
    IMP-00000: Import terminated unsuccessfully
Am I right that the server that I exported the tablespace is using Oracle 10.2.0.2.0 while Oracle Express is 10.2.0.1.0? I looked around and I did not see Oracle Express version 10.2.0.2.0 that I can download. Is there a patch or something to upgrade it?
    Thanks,
    RJ
