ImporterProcessServer.exe has stopped working - width/height too large

I'm getting this error everytime I try importing a video that I got converted from a BetaCam tape.  I have the movie in Microsoft DV Codec and Quicktime DV Codec.
The first thing that happens is this error pops up with the following details:
Problem signature:
  Problem Event Name:    BEX
  Application Name:    ImporterProcessServer.exe
  Application Version:    0.0.0.0
  Application Timestamp:    491896d7

  Additional Information 4:    c8538bb25c54d271cb1dde4a6dfbc4e0
Then a dialogue box pops up that says
File Import Failure
File video dimensions ( width/height ) too large.
I have no troubles importing files I've used previous to this project.
I'm using CS4 4.0.1
Vista Ultimate.
Many thanks for any help and advice.
Kind Regards,
Clint

Hi Hunt,
Thanks for the reply.
Initially I was using a simple PAL DV setting, but once I got the error I tried using larger project settings with no luck.
The source video was provided in two formats, for any compatitbility issues so it's the same video.... One is the QT and one is the MS AVI.  The frame size of the video is 720 x 576 and 25 fps. Each file is around 27 GB and just over 2 hours long.
It's wierd, Premiere won't import either files, After Effects crashes but Encore brings it right in.... if only I didn't need to do a bit of editing.  I'm not sure of the program that did the conversion, but we had it sent off to a studio because the source footage was on Digital BetaCam tape and I'm guessing it was originally captured in Avid, but who knows.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Clint

  • ImporterProcessServer.exe has stopped working...sound familiar?

Ok, I've read most if not all of the posts on this subject and this same issue is happening to me.  I've tried the different solutions offered as well to little or no avail.  Here is my story.
ImporterProcessServer.exe stops working during export using Adobe Media Encoder.  I have a project that is 44 minutes in duration and the process stops at approximately halfway through the process each time.  On smaller projects, duration of approximately 15 minutes or less the Encoder functions properly.  At one point during time line render I would also get ImporterProcessServer error also but that seems to have subsided.  Regardless of the project source clips DV, Blackmagic, or P2 formats I get the error on export or timeline render.
    Here are my computer stats
    Intel Dual Core E5420
64 Bit Vista SP2 Business Edition
    ATI Radeon x300/x500/x1050
Serial ATA 250 GB drive for OS and Adobe Software
Serial ATA 1.5 TB raid 5 array for clip storage
    24 GB Ram
    Premiere CS4 version 4.1.0
    Adobe Media Encoder version 4.4.107
Blackmagic Design HD Extreme Capture Card Driver Vers. 7.2    64 bit
I have uninstalled and reinstalled Vista several times, even flattening HD and starting over.
Uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe CS4 same if not more times than the Vista OS
I was using CS3 on XP and didn't experience this issue, and to avoid the cute response I will get; no I'm not going back to CS3 and XP thank you.  That ship has sailed and can't re-create all the CS4 projects in CS3.
So to sum up, yes I am yet another person with the same persistant ImporterProcessServer.exe problem.  Yes, there are alot of us out here, many more than the ones that post.  I waited months before posting, searching for an answer.  Based on my experience and others I have read about, I feel many more would join the discussion if they weren't so fed up with frustration.  So if Adobe is out there lurking on this forum, I say "Hi, how ya doing?"  This software suite is expensive and I need to be productive to stay employed.  Please help us!  We're out here struggling to use your product.
Of course if anyone else has a positive constructive contribution to my post please send it along.
    Thanks

Of course if anyone else has a positive constructive contribution to my post please send it along.
I wish that I did, especially with so well-written a post. Unfortunately, I only have a couple of questions, and they might have zero bearing on your issue:
1.) what is the free space available on your C:\ (the 250GB SATA, I assume)?
2.) is there anything different at about the halfway point in your Timeline (around where the error occurs)? *
3.) since the error occurs with different media, and different Capture, is the timing of the error pretty constant for all of these longer Sequences? [From your info, it seems that it is.]
That shorter Sequences do not yield the error, but longer ones do, I'm thinking that there might be some link to the Duration.
    * However, with different media, I would assume that your Sequences would be rather different from one another, just longer than the Sequences that perform correctly.
Again, wish I had some answers for you. Just grasping at straws here. As we all know, there is little, if any Adobe presence here.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Error message "ImporterProcessServer.exe has stopped working"

I imported DVD files into CS4 as MPEG2s as when I converted the DVD footage received from a client as avi files they totaled almost 300 Gigs! and that was only for 5 short DVDs of horse show footage. PROBLEM SOLVED....I was having the same problem and this is what I did.....
Read the error message that comes up when "ImporterProcessServer" stops and make sure it is says this:
    Fault Module Name: IPPMPEGDecoder.dll
      Fault Module Version: 4.0.0.0
If it is this file, here is how to solve the problem.
Do a system search in the Adobe folder of your Program Files and find every copy of that .DLL file. Ignore the one in the Premiere Pro CS4 folder because that one is obviously bad.
Find one in a different folder that is the same "Module Version" as the bad one in Premiere Pro--just roll your mouse over it until it displays the version number--i really don't know if the version number matters, but just to be safe, i copied one that was the same version. I found one in the Encore CS4 folder. Then simply copy and paste this one into your Premiere Pro folder and overwrite the bad one.
And it's fixed. I couldn't believe it worked!
This might not work for everybody, but it worked for me. And I didn't have to uninstall my Suite or my OS or anything!

  • Getting "setup.exe has stopped working" message when trying to install labview 2011 or 2012 on a windows 7 machine

I am getting a "setup.exe has stopped working" message when trying to install labview 2011 or 2012 on a windows 7 machine. I already tried running setup.exe as an administrator with the same results. I have Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5.1 installed on the affected machine. Could this be the cause of this issue? Or does someone know the root cause of such error?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Hi - are you getting it at the start of installation, during or after 100% progress has finished?
Is it just LabVIEW you're installing, or is it drivers too, in which case, what was the last large package that was installing at the time?
This could be caused by the NVIDIA chipset driver :

  • Sqldeveloper64W.exe has stopped working

    Problem Summary
Receive error: sqldeveloper64W.exe has stopped working when attempting to open .sql files
    Problem Description
Within SQL Developer 4.0, I've gone into Preferences > File Types, found the .sql extension and checked the box that says Open with SQL Developer.  I've gone to the Set Associations control panel in Windows 7 Professional 64 bit and confirmed that the Current Default is set to sqldeveloper64W.  I've used the CMD function to access regedit, deleted the file associations for .sql and set all preferences again.  If SQL developer is not already open on my machine and I attempt to open a .sql file, the application launches fine.  If I try to open additional files from windows explorer or windows search, I get an APPCRASH indicating that sqldeveloper64W.exe has stopped working.  I click close the program and sql developer remains open, but my file has not opened.
    Error Codes
    sqldeveloper64W.exe has stopped working

This problem has been plaguing me for ages too, but I think I've finally found the solution from this post:
    http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-files/problems-with-file-association-in-windows-7-64-bit/8a84fcec-22df-4942-8e35-d98dbe96e327
"In regedit: Navigate to Computer\HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Applications and find your .exe name.
Navigate under its name to shell>open>command. In the Default change its location to the actual location of the executable, hit okay and then try and reassociate the file type as you normally would."
In my particular case, I browsed to   Computer\HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Applications\sqldeveloper64W.exe\shell\Open\Command
    and changed the (Default) value
    from "C:\oracle\sqldeveloper\sqldeveloper-4.0.2.15.21-x64\sqldeveloper\bin\sqldeveloper64W.exe" "%1" %*
    to "C:\oracle\sqldeveloper\sqldeveloper-4.0.2.15.21-x64\sqldeveloper.exe" "%1" %*
And now the file association works correctly, and now with sql developer already open, I can open another .sql file from windows explorer. Fingers crossed this is finally fixed!

  • Error message "clc.exe has stopped working".

When I start Photoshop I get an error message "clc.exe has stopped working".  I have the latest version drivers for my Acer X23H and HP 2311 LCD monitors so upgrading them is not possible.  Is there any other fix I can try?

I've just downloaded and installed the very latest drivers from AMD and installed them.  Still, I get the "clc.exe has stopped working" errors when I launch PS.  I do not get this, or any other errors, when opening or running any other programs, and have never once gotten a blue screen or had any failures in this system for the two or three years it's been running.
While it's remotely possible that there is some error in AMD's latest (and previous) drivers for this video card, what seems to fit the symptoms I have, is that there is some problem in Adobe's code.
Previous versions of Photoshop open and run fine on this system.  Other CAD and graphics programs run fine, too, with no crashes, lockups, or failures.
Still, if there's something else that needs to be updated for my video system, to make the Adobe errors go away, I'm open to do whatever updates are necessary.  I'm running an AMD Radeon HD 5700 series display adapter, driver date 11/20/2014, version 14.501.1003.0.  Device manager says the device is working properly (for whatever that's worth).
The computer is running Win 7 64 bit ultimate.  Processor is AMD Phenom II X6 1090T six-core processor.  All has been running flawlessly for several years, and continues to do so with every application except Adobe Photoshop 14.501.1003.0.

  • CDPdrv.exe has stopped working/responding

I have installed Cisco's IP Communicator v7.0(2) on my laptop in a lab environment. It registers to my CME running on a 3825 fine. I have enabled video support and launch Video Advantage. I can see video, and everything looks fine so far. I have not yet setup another camera and PC to test. My machine is Vista Business Edition. After a few minutes, I get a message that pops up and states something to the effect "CDPdrv.exe has stopped working". ??? Anyone seen this? I was going to try and verify this is just a Vista problem, but it runs way too slow on my XP VMWare machine to make it worth trying.
    Regards,
    Scott

I'm having the same issue as well. On a vista laptop I get "CDPdrv.exe has stopped working" just after installing UVA 2.1.2 on a laptop that already had IP Communicator 7.0.2.0 installed.
In this order...after getting the error the first time.
    1) I uninstalled UVA.
    2) I uninstalled IP Communicator.
    3) I restarted my laptop
    4) I installed IP Communicator, started it, and then restarted.
    5) I installed UVA, started it, and then restarted.
    6) I started to see the "CDPdrv.exe has stopped working"
If I choose "close the program" I am alerted of this issue a few minutes later. The service continues to crash and UVA does not seem to understand that I have IP Communicator installed...
I can use this setup without any issues with the IP phone hardware, it's just after I add IP Communicator (softphone) to the mix that I start getting errors.
I talked to a TAC engineer who told me that this was a "known issue" but did not elaborate...I'm waiting to hear back.

  • Error message: "application.exe has stopped working" under BEX event name on Windows 7 64-bit.

I am trying to run a third party program on my Windows 7 64-bit. It has an executable file.
    1. When I double click on this file (appname.exe), I will see a GUI window.
    2. In this GUI window, I will have to select a dynamic link library file (appDLL.dll) to load into the appname.exe that will run the application. This DLL file is compiled in Visual C++ 2010 Express based on a C source code under the Release Win32

    3. It is supposed to run after step 2. Instead it give the BEX error message saying "appkernel.exe has stop working." There is no online solution at this time when I select that option to search for an online solution.

    Hi Brian,
    Thank you for the reply!
The third party software provider wrote the source code in C. When I compiled this source code, the DLL file will be created in store in the Release folder in the same project directory of the source code.
I just double check my computer, I have the following Visual C++ packages installed on it:
    1. Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable
    2. Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable (x64)

From what I understand the Visual C++ 2008 Runtime is included in the Redistributable package.

  • Photo Stream PC-error message "applephotostreams.exe has stopped working" and now additional photos that I want to upload is not uploading.

I sync my devices with a PC running windows.  I have turned on Photo Stream on my PC, iPhone4S & iPad2.
On my PC it creates two default folders in Pictures called "My Photo Stream" and "Upload".
Instructions says that you can add photos to the "Upload" folder and it will automatically upload to your "My Photo Stream" folder and when your devices are connected to wi-fi they will upload to each device and show up in the "Photo Stream" section of Photos.
I was able to upload 50 photos but then I got an error message that applephotostreams.exe has stopped working.
    How do I fix?

I was having the same problem.  Earlier in the week, I was able to drag a few photos to the upload folder and they synced correctly.  Yesteday, I dragged different photos, and I got the "applephotostream.exe has stopped working" error.
The solution - for me, at least! - was to reduce the size of the pictures being uploaded to the photostream.  While all of the pictures were jpegs, the first set were ca. 800K (3800 x 2500), and the second set were ca. 2.5 MB (4000 x 2000).  When I reduced the resolution of the last set by a factor of 4 (ca. 600 K, 2000 x 1500), they uploaded without a hitch.
Based on this admittedly sketchy experiment, it looks like Apple has a max picture size limit, apparently based on file size rather than picture resolution).  Perhaps < 1 MB?  To be rigorous, I should complete the experiment - leave the resolution of the second set of pictures alone and reduce file size by reducing jpeg quality.
Has anyone heard about a picture file size limit?
