Importing custom components

I just downloaded and installed Update 5 and now I cannot import my custom component.
The new update requires the component packaged as a Component Library File with comlib?? extension. I tried to find any docs on the new packaging scheme but couldnt find any. Can anyone on the creator team please supply the info?

Can I import custom components from Flash 8?

I'm creating a custom Flash Video Playback component in Flash
8 using AS2. I understand that I cannot import this to Flex as
stated in Livedocs: "You can use SWC files created in Flash 8 only
for skinning, not as components. Until the next version of Flash is
released, you can only use SWC files created in Flex 2 as
components."
But now that Flash 8 supports AS3 with the new Adobe Labs
add-on, if I create the custom component using AS3 in Flash 8, can
I then import it and use it in Flex 2.0.1?

To add to this topic :), since AVM for flash 8 and flash 9
are different, swf files in as3 and as2 live in different worlds.
This means you can load flash 8 movies at runtime but you wont be
able to control them at all, just as if they where a JPG file. So
in order to have some interaction, the best option is to recompile
the SWF in flash 9. You might need to do a lot of reprogramming
though.
As a work around the AS3 team suggest to use LocalConnection
between them, but to my opinion this might require the same
rewriting effort as to transform the movie to flash 9 on the first
place.

Values dinamically with custom components

Hi everyone, i have a problem with flex, i developed a main aplication in witch i have added a container (sesionGroup), also i did a custom component witch contains one button and one label. the main application creates several components dinamically using the custom component with values assigned dinamically by an external xml file, this is the code of the main application:

Like you can see i have added for each component one event clic, and i want that when a user clic one component the red alert of the main aplication shows him the value of the selected component, for example, if a user clic the first component it must show 0 (or 1), if the user clic the second component it must show 1 (or 2), etc. I have found other ways like getChilindex and others but those give me the same result for all the components, the value of the first or the last component.

I've gotten to where it will display the model values but each tag's components are displaying the value of the first item in the data model.
It looks like there is only one instance of my custom component being constructed. Why would this be happening? I would think that for each row in the datatable, there would be one instance of my custom component. Here's the relevant fragment from the jsp.

There is only one 'twoString' component created. The text for the command button is correctly displaying the simpleResponse field for the underlying model row to which it is bound. My component binds to the bean itself, not one of its fields. It does the work of setting the contained standard values.

Exporting/importing custom library objects

Dear,
When we made custom objects for in our library. They are available to all environments on my laptop, but not on a different machine.
Is there any way to export/import these?

These things are stored locally on your machine.
Note: On tab Library in your LCD click right arrow to get the library menu, mark your components tab (you need to export), right arrow opens the menu where there is the "group properties..." item. Here there is a path on your harddrive. My problem is I cannot locate the path I can see here. So I have looked for a workaround.
Workaround: create a folder on your desktop. Create a component group in you Library in LCD (new tab). Go to properties of this new group, set the path to your new desktop folder. Go to the component tab where you have your custom components. Select them, use move to..., select the new component group/ desktop folder. After completing this, check the xfo files in your desktop folder. You can now send them to another machines.
Note: In the library "right-arrow-menu" there is the item "shared library location". You can use this to share the components among all the machines you need.

Creating custom components in CS3

Can anyone here point me to a place to look to learn how to
make custom components in CS3? I found only two tutorials on it on
the entire internet - FlashBrighton and a SWC version posted by
someone named smackme. Neither of them really explains the AS logic
to how they work. Yes I can follow their instructions and get a
component to show up but neither helps me understand how to make my
own fairly sophisticated components.
Why is there such silence on this issue? Why doesn't Adobe
document how they work?
I don't get why a fairly important aspect of the software
isn't documented or explained. If anyone can point me somewhere to
look to learn about it, I'd appreciate it.

Upgrading packages from 2005 to 2012 : Custom components and delyavalidation woes

I've two specific cases with upgrading SSIS 2005 to 2012
1st : most annoying
I have a custom transformation written in c# 2005. It references sql server 2005 dlls such as from
Microsoft.SQLServer.DTSRuntimeWrap
Microsoft.SQLServer.ManagedDTS
Microsoft.SqlServer.PipelineHost
Those are stored under
C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\90\SDK\Assemblies
The requirement is to upgrade the package to 2012 and the code as well. Since 2005 was not installed on new server , I copied the referenced dlls from old server , added them back to C# project and rebuilt the Custom components dlls then added to GAC
When I open the packages , they complain about the version
Error 2
Validation error. : The component metadata for "My_Comonents, clsid {874F7595-FB5F-40FF-96AF-FBFF8250E3EF}" could not be upgraded to the newer version of the component. The PerformUpgrade method failed.
So I thought , I can add the dll to the toolbox and add it again. WHen I try this , I get this error
"Could not load file or assembly Microsoft.SqlServer.PipelineHost ,version = 9.0.242.0"
Now I assume this is because I don't have 2005 components installed.
Before getting things messy , what should be the right approach :
a- Should I just leave the custom components dlls as they are and add them to GAC ? but they will still need 2005 dlls , should I install 2005 client components ?
b- I can not change the code of the c# project to use new SQL 2012 components , it's a lot of work. so what should be right approach here ?

Even for disabled tasks , like data flow task , setting delyavalidate= True still doesn't help against them being validated and raising error. removing them will help but I do not want , any workaround ?

Issue with SSIS Custom Components - 64 bit SQL 2012

Hello All,
Our SSIS packages built on SQL 2008 R2 make use of some custom components. These custom components are installed as part of an MSI. The dll's are copied over to the Windows/assemble [GAC Folder] and also to the Program Files(x86)/SQL Server/110/DTS/* folder.
The installation does not copy the dll's to the 64 bit program files folder.
X:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\110\DTS
These packages are executed via SQL Agent jobs on a 64 bit SQL server and there does not seem be any issue.
Now we are upgrading our servers to SQL 2012 and we have a new installer for the custom components as well. The new custom components use .NET Framework 4.0 and when installed the dll files get copied over to the Ms.NET 32 bit runtime GAC folder and also
to the SQL Server DTS Folder in x86. The upgraded packages work only when we set the runtime mode to 32 bit. The packages successfully executes within the 32 bit dtexec utility, but when we try to run the same package using a 64 bit dtexec utility the
process errors out with a component failed to load message. The package moves data between two SQL Server instances.
The custom components have always been built for 32 bit runtime. I can run a older package through the dtexec utility (from the 64 bit folder in program files) and it does work without any issues. After the upgrade the package will only execute on
a 32 bit utility. can someone help me understand this issue?

i think we got the answer as well, as the .NET framework 3.0 installer copied the files over to the C:\windows assembly the dtexec utility [32 bit/64 bit] was able to load the components.
Now with the new installer the files are copied to specific runtime gac folders as Arthur has mentioned. The 64 bit utility does not find the dlls in the GAC whereas the 32 bit version will find them.

I have an application (HAP_MAIN_DOCUMENT) of component FPM_OIF_COMPONENT which uses a Webdynpro component with the same name (HAP_MAIN_DOCUMENT). This Webdynpro component (HAP_MAIN_DOCUMENT) uses 2 other components (HAP_DOCUMENT_BODY and HAP_DOCUMENT_HEADER).
For my client requirement, i need to create the custom components by copying from standard components as the UI layout changes are quiet huge and not manageable with the enhancements. To accomodate this i have changed the standard configurations by replacing the standard web dynpro components with the custom ones copied. Apart fomr this there are no changes to the standard.
While trying to access the application, i am getting the error as Null object reference. the details of the error is as below. Please advice.

How are you able to configure Custom Web dynpro application to Appraisal document instead of HAP_MAIN_DOCUMENT. could you please share the steps. We have created custom application a copy of HAP_MAIN_DOCUMENT and the other two webdynpro components are also copied.
We dont know how to link this to Appraisal template. BADI HRHAP00_BSP_TMPL is used to change application names for BSP application. How to change application name for Web dynpro ABAP. Please share the stpes which will help us

Error analysis

    Termination occurred in the ABAP program "/1BCWDY/LUR96POELQNL3TIUWPYS==CP" -
     in "WDDOINIT".
    The main program was "SAPMHTTP ".
    In the source code you have the termination point in line 4640
    of the (Include) program "/1BCWDY/B_LUXVEOR5WUW66V6QRRNU".
    Termination occurred in a Web Dynpro application
      Web Dynpro Component          ZWD_HAP_DOCUMENT_HEADER

    The termination is caused because exception "CX_SY_REF_IS_INITIAL" occurred in
    procedure "WDDOINIT" "(METHOD)", but it was neither handled locally nor
     declared
    in the RAISING clause of its signature.
    The procedure is in program "/1BCWDY/LUR96POELQNL3TIUWPYS==CP "; its source
     code begins in line
    4619 of the (Include program "/1BCWDY/B_LUXVEOR5WUW66V6QRRNU ".

Error while trying to import Software components from SLD.

Hi Gurus,
Need Help.
When we are trying to import Software components from SLD we are getting following error. Could not read list of software component versions from SLD. In Description i am getting following two points.
1. Could not read list of software component versions from SLD (COULD_NOT_READ_SWCV)
2. User credentials are invalid or user is denied access
We have tried following
1. LCRSAPRFC and SAPSLDAPI are working fine.
2 SLDAPICUST is ok
3. In nwa connections are available for LCRSAPRFC and SAPSLDAPI.
Request you to let us know how to resolve this issue.

Generating a clientId for Custom Components

I am creating a custom component that will be made up of smaller form elements and maybe even smaller custom components. Does JSF provide the mechanism for generating the clientId for each of these components and thier sub-components.
What I don't want to do is this:
writer.writeAttribute("name", clientId + "_id" + subComponentCounter++);
...

I got that part. But what if your component has sub-components. Do you just name them whatever you want? I know that you could. But what if they are dynamically generated? And what if your sub-components have sub-components.
So for example:
Custom Control: Shipping Form
|_Custom Control: Name Form
| |_TextBox: First Name
| |_TextBox: Last Name
|_Custom Control: Address Form
|_TextBox: Street
|_TextBox: City
|_TextBox: State
|_TextBox: Postal Code

Load or import custom style mapping in link options – is that possible somehow?

Hi Everyone,
I'm working with Instructions for Use and Technical Manual documents in InDesign. I'm constantly fine-tuning our templates, and now I have to refresh them again, because of a brand refresh. I'm using the Custom Style Mapping in the Link Options panel a lot, because it helps us to copy the text from older documents to the new ones with the right formatting, with less effort. The only thing I miss is the “Load/Import Custom Style Mapping” option from this panel.
Do you know if there’s any options to export/import/load these mappings somehow from one document to another? Is it possible to write a script for that? I find this part of InDesign quite unattached, it seems to me (based on my search) that no other people are using it. I feel lonely, help me here!
(I have created many new mappings in an older document, and I’d like to be able to use them in the new templates as well, but I can only do that if I map the styles again. And it’s quite time consuming. Maybe I'm just using too many paragraph styles, I have no idea – this could be another question: what is too much when it comes to styles...)

Sync is not intended to be used as a backup service like you are talking about, but it will work as long as you save the Recovery Key, as Jefferson mentioned (you also need your Sync Username ''[email address you used]'' and your account Password).
Mozilla has just started working a new "cloud service" that is code named '''PiCL''' for "Profile in CLoud", which I am expecting will be a lot easier to use and might allow the user to access their bookmarks and other data from the internet without adding a "borrowed" PC to your Sync account.

Problem in Importing Custom Themes in WD

Hi,
I'm facing problem in importing custom themes in WD. I executed program WD_THEMES and imported my custom theme.
A message appeared as
Only non-importable themes found (with the wrong
version, for example), Do you want to view a
list of these themes?
There is problem in version. Current version is 7.0.14.1 but my version is having 7.11.3.2.0.
Is there are possibilities to change the version.
Please suggest on this problem.
