Importing custom created security profiles from a .csv or .xls document

Hi Experts,
We have a prerequisite where we need to create custome security profiles as per the requirement.
These security profiles I have created in an excel sheet and wish to import it in the server.
The reason behind creating the security profiles through excel sheet is that in the future we will be working on a new server. So instead of doing any rework we can directly import from this excel sheet.
For creating a security profiles through an excel sheet, I have mentioned the following things in the excel sheet.
1. In a "eso_security_profiles" i have mentioned the profile name,description,internal ID, etc..
DISPLAY_NAME       DOCUMENT_DESCRIPTION    INTERNAL_NAME     CATEGORY  COLLAB_PROFILE    INTERNAL_TYPE     RESTRICTED
DISPLAY_NAME:Category Manager
DOCUMENT_DESCRIPTION   : This profile is for the user who has full rights only at project business document but cannot approve and have no access rights to the master data
INTERNAL_NAME  :  fci.profile.doc.category_manager
CATEGORY  :   BUYSIDE
COLLAB_PROFILE    :   TRUE
INTERNAL_TYPE     :
RESTRICTED   :
2. And in the "eso_security_rights" I have mentioned the access rights as per requirement.
RESOURCE        SECURITY_PROFILE                               ALLOW_PERMISSIONS       DENY_PERMISSIONS
rfx.RFXDoc        fci.profile.doc.wft_category_manager     ODP_READ
Please give some inputs on this. Am not sure if what I have done is the right way.
Thanks.
Vaishali.

Hi Vaishali,
I understand that you need these security profiles in another server going forward. I would suggest another way around rather.
Please create the Security profiles in SAP Sourcing itself, then export the OMA file. When you move into another server please import this OMA file. This will serve the purpose of having the new security profiles in the new server.
If you are modifing something in the workbook, then you should carefully review field details. As I am not sure which version of SAP Sourcing and details of workbook, so I would suggest the above way to try out.
Hope this helps
Thanks

  • How to import categories to my addressbook from a csv file?

    Hello, I have a few contact list (csv) i want to add in my thunderbird adressbook. tought, I can' t find a way to add the categories of my contacts when i import my list of contacts from a csv files to my thunderbird adressebook. As you can see in the image, in the Edit contact window there is a section named categories, and ussually you click that section and you decide whatever the contact is a friend, a parent etc. Well I want to import that information from a csv file already made and not setup up the categories from each contact one by one. Ok thank you very much!

    You need a vCard (.vcf) format, not .csv.  Were these exported from Outlook?

    it used to be that when I created a pdf from a word or publisher document, hyperlinks worked fine. Now I cannot get them to work unless the text displayed for the link is the complete address and it all appears on one line. Why?

    You can print to the Adobe PDF printer, but that only creates links that Acrobat or Reader recognize as such. That is the reason for needing the entire URL on one line. It is not actually an embedded link, but one created by Acrobat on the fly. With OFFICE 2013 you have two choices: 1. create the PDF with the print to Adobe PDF and then add the links in Acrobat so that they are complete or 2. I think the WORD save as PDF or XPS will create the PDF with links, but not sure. If so, that would be the quickest solution for you, but be aware of potential problems with the MS plugin.
    Of course, the third option is to upgrade to XI which can be done with AA 9. You will probably not be eligible for a for an upgrade to whatever the next version will be.

  • SQL Query in Custom Security when creating Security Profile

    Hello all,
    I've created a security profile with Custom security and provided a simple query in Custom Security tab-
    PERSON.PERSON_ID = FND_GLOBAL.EMPLOYEE_ID
    Custom security option is "Restrict the people visible to each user using this profile"
    I am not able to see the record as expected.
    If I Hardcode the person ID "PERSON.PERSON_ID = 13449" with "Restrict the people visible to each user using this profile", I am able to see the record.
    If I Hardcode the person ID "PERSON.PERSON_ID = 13449" with "Restrict the people visible to this profile", I am able to see the record after running PERSLM and same is in PER_PERSON_LISTS.
    Am I correct in checking with FND_GLOBAL.EMPLOYEE_ID?
    (This was mentioned in system administrator guide :
    "+Oracle HRMS assesses the custom security when the user signs on. In addition, the custom security code can include references to user specific variables, for example, fnd_profile.value() and fnd_global.employee_id.+"
    docs.oracle.com/cd/E18727_01/doc.121/e13509/T2096T2098.htm).
    I have tried with FND_GLOBAL.USER_ID / FND_PROFILE.VALUE('USER_ID') / :ASG_ID (seeded query has a join with this bind variable) - not happening.
    I've given options as below :
    Employees = None
    Contingent Worker = Restricted
    Applicant = None
    Contacts = All
    Candidates = All
    All other options - Defaulted
    Thanks,
    Sumanth

    Resolved this - One cannot see self's employee record in the form for which this is setup.
    Hence the below query though correct in syntax did not show any data.
    PERSON.PERSON_ID = FND_GLOBAL.EMPLOYEE_ID
    My original requirement was that all employees belonging to one's Organization should be displayed, and this is working fine with an updated query for the same.
    Thanks,
    Sumanth

  • Create security profile based on different payroll

    we have two payrolls, I want to assign different responsibilities based on the two apyrolls. I tried to do that by creating a new security profile but it is not working. can anubody tell me in detail steps what to do, please..

    tvikramsingh,
    Just want to confirm here --- I thought the check to see if multiple security groups is enabled is to go to US Super HRMS Manager => Security => Assign Security Profiles. If that windows open up, that means security groups are enabled.
    Plus in our instance we dont have Security List Maintenance scheduled which adds to my confusion....
    Can someone clarify?
    Thanks

  • Creating an array from a csv

    Hi all,
    I am currently working on a basic app for a masteres dissertation where I am looking to input a number of map pins within the map kit from a csv file I have. The file is in my resources and I have map kit up and running but being an archaeologist rather than a developer this is where I fall down. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
    The csv hold over 900 records each looking like this
    1783376,Site of Second Possible Contiguous Bronze Age Round Barrow,N 51 11 3.699,W 01 48 37.311,"RCHM 128. A levelled barrow visible as a soil mark on air photos RAF CPE/UK/1811 4354-5, contiguous with 117,574*0.<br /> ( 1980) The field is currently arable ley."
    and the titles are;
    [0] = Monument ID
    [1] = Title
    [2] = Latitude
    [3] = Longitude
    [4] = Descriptions
    I guess it would be a Mutable array as the fields will be changing and I looked into creating a FOR loop but as I say I get stuck putting it all together.

  • Automatically create security groups from list of OU's

    Here I'm looking to create security groups automatically form the list of OU's available in active directory and add OU users to receptive groups.
    Help me to do this in power shell. THanks in advance.

    Hi,
    You can use Get-ADOrganizationalUnit to get a list of OUs in AD and then use New-ADGroup to create groups. You can then use Get-ADUser with the -SearchBase parameter to find your list of users who exist in the particular OUs. Finally, you can use Add-ADGroupMember
    to add these users to the groups.

  • FAQ: Creating PDF Files from FrameMaker v.6 & earlier Documents -- Why you should not use "save as PDF"! -- Windows & MacOS Only!

    An issue that has come up over and over again on several FrameMaker and Acrobat/PDF email lists as well on the corresponding Adobe User-to-User forums is that of creation of PDF files. FrameMaker 5.5.6 and 6 have what looks like a convenient feature that is supposed to allow you to create PDF files via simply saving the document as a PDF file. I have gone on record as advising end-users not to use this approach for reliable creation of PDF files from FrameMaker documents under Windows and MacOS with FrameMaker 6 and earlier. Why do I most vociferously offer this advice and why doesn't the problem get fixed? And how SHOULD you create PDF files from FrameMaker?
    GOOD NEWS
    I will start with the good news. The "next major version" of FrameMaker will indeed have "save as PDF" re-implemented in a manner that it will be as reliable as printing to the "Acrobat Distiller" printer instance under Windows or the "Create Adobe PDF" desktop printer under MacOS. I am personally working with the FrameMaker development organization to make sure this really happens and is fully and properly tested and debugged! Furthermore, this next major revision of FrameMaker, unlike FrameMaker 6, will come with a Distiller installer that will properly install the "Acrobat Distiller" printer instance under Windows and the "Create Adobe PDF" desktop printer on the Macintosh (of course assuring that the latest PostScript driver is also automatically and correctly installed).
    DON'T USE "SAVE AS PDF"
    But what's wrong with "save as PDF" as currently implemented?
    The following are some of the SYMPTOMS reported over the last few years by FrameMaker users that were traced back to use of "save as PDF" under FrameMaker:
    (1) No PDF file is produced at all, possibly with a log file showing not-readily apparent PostScript errors during distillation.
    (2) The PDF file "loses" color in images. All or some images (raster, bitmap images, NOT vector artwork) appear in the PDF file in grayscale.
    (3) The resultant PDF file is on the wrong paper size, i.e., the document's logical page size does not match the output page size as seen in Acrobat or Acrobat Reader.
    (4) Some or all text in the resultant PDF file is blotchy looking or overly bold.
    (5) Some or all text in the resultant PDF file cannot be searched or indexed.
    (6) Some or all text in the resultant PDF file appears in Courier or in some other substitution font.
    (7) Interword or intercharacter spacing is a bit irregular in the resultant PDF file.
    (8) Content is missing in the margin areas of the page, i.e. you cannot do full-page bleeds.
    (9) Some or all page content is missing (other than margin areas).
    (10) Relatively inefficient PDF is generated.
    If this list by itself isn't enough for you, please note that some of these symptoms are very subtle and may escape attention when the PDF is first viewed or printed. Oftimes, it is when one attempts to manipulate the PDF file in Acrobat or repurpose its content or even view or print on a system other than the one on which the PDF file was created, that some of these symptoms make themselves obnoxiously visible (or invisible in some cases I won't make any bad jokes here about graphic examples!).
    It is important to understand that FrameMaker does NOT have its own native ability to create PDF. Any and all PDF created from FrameMaker documents is actually done by creating PostScript via the PostScript driver and having the Acrobat Distiller create PDF from that PostScript. The only exception to this is creation of PDF via the Acrobat PDFWriter driver, which is likewise not recommended (see below).
    In order for "save as PDF" to work correctly, FrameMaker must do the equivalent of calling Printer Setup and selecting the "Acrobat Distiller" printer instance under Windows or the "Create Adobe PDF" desktop printer under MacOS followed by setting the driver's options correctly for paper size, page range, etc., followed by sending the proper commands to the driver to create PostScript.
    Contrary to popular belief, PostScript as generated by the Windows and MacOS PostScript drivers is VERY device-dependent. The information in the PPD file associated with a printer driver instance provides critical parameters for generation of PostScript including:
    Whether the printer supports color (Acrobat Distiller does)
    What PostScript language level is supported (Acrobat Distiller 4.x and Acrobat Distiller 5.x are both PostScript language level 3)
    Whether native TrueType support is available (Acrobat supports native TrueType as Type 42 fonts)
    Available binary communications (Acrobat Distiller supports pure binary and ASCII, but NOT TCP, TBCP, or PJL)
    Resident fonts (Acrobat Distiller doesn't really have resident fonts)
    Available paper sizes and custom paper size availability (Acrobat Distiller supports a wide range of predefined sizes and continually variable "custom" sizes up to 200" by 200")
    Margins / printable areas (for PDF and the Acrobat Distiller, there are no margins in which imaging is not permitted)
    Device resolution (Acrobat Distiller can be set to any value from 72 to 4000 dpi; as a convenience, the Acrobat Distiller PPD provides a series of values for use by the driver. Since there is no inherent "resolution" of a PDF file, this parameter is used only for purposes of allowing PostScript programs that query for such a value to be satisfied and for the driver to be able to communicate this value to the operating system and/or application as required.)
    Paper handling (totally irrelevant to Acrobat Distiller if input or output tray selection via "setpagedevice" is found in the PostScript stream, it is ignored by Acrobat Distiller)
    Thus, if the wrong printer driver instance is selected (i.e., it isn't associated with the Acrobat Distiller PPD file) or that driver instance is improperly configured, improper PostScript will result and one or more of the symptoms described above can occur. As currently implemented, FrameMaker depending upon version will not necessarily choose the correct printer driver instance and/or correctly parameterize the print job via driver setup options. In fact, FrameMaker 5,5,6 might even try to generate PDF via calling a PCL driver, FAX driver, or even a non-PostScript inkjet printer!
    DON'T USE PDFWRITER
    The Acrobat PDFWriter is a relic of older versions of Acrobat. In fact, it is no longer installed by default in the "easy install" or the "typical install" of Acrobat 5. It hasn't really be updated since Acrobat 3 and only supports PDF 1.2. It is a GDI (Windows) / QuickDraw (MacOS) driver that directly generates PDF without any intermediary PostScript. Since it is not a PostScript printer driver, applications cannot pass through EPS graphics and/or PDFMark information (used for a wide variety of purposes by FrameMaker). For EPS graphics, most applications will send the low resolution TIFF (or PICT) EPS header in lieu of the PostScript text, if they send anything at all, to the driver. Forget about links, structure, or any other PDF "goodies." Expect that PDFWriter will fully "bite the dust" in the next major version of Acrobat.
    SO HOW DO I GENERATE PDF FILES FROM FRAMEMAKER 6 & EARLIER?
    The ONLY method that is really reliable for producing PDF files with FrameMaker 6 and earlier requires the generation of PostScript via a properly set printer driver instance associated with the Acrobat Distiller PPD and distillation of the resultant PostScript by Acrobat Distiller.
    Case 1: FrameMaker and the Full Acrobat 4.05 or Acrobat 5.0x Products
    PDF file from a "chapter" -- print directly to the Acrobat Distiller printer instance (Windows) or the Create Adobe PDF desktop printer (MacOS) already installed by Acrobat. If you check the "Acrobat data" option, then make sure to UNcheck the "print to file" option that gets set at the same time. As a result, the driver will automatically send the generated PostScript to the Distiller for you and delete the intermediate PostScript when done.
    PDF file from a "book" -- print directly to the Acrobat Distiller printer instance with the "print to file" option checked (Windows) or the Virtual Printer desktop printer (MacOS) associated with the Distiller PPD (see details below under Case 2/MacOS). You will need to manually process the resultant PostScript file through the Distiller (or use a "watched folder" arrangement).
    In both the above sub-cases, the default driver options generally will be OK, but check on paper size and communication protocol (Use pure binary, not ASCII, for optimal performance AND no CTRL-D characters under Windows. Make sure to set Level 3 only and Binary under MacOS. Font inclusion "All" for Acrobat 4.05 and "None" for Acrobat 5 under MacOS.). With Acrobat 4.05, make sure you preset the Distiller to use the joboptions you want. With Acrobat 5, you can set this on a job-by-job basis via the driver printer setup interface (or print dialog on MacOS).
    Case 2: FrameMaker 6 and the Bundled Acrobat 4.05 Distiller
    Windows -- Create a new printer driver instance using the latest version of the Adobe Universal PostScript Driver Installer, downloadable from Adobe's web site AND the Acrobat Distiller PPD file (located in the XTRAS subdirectory of the Distiller directory). This driver instance should be set to print to the local port named "FILE:". Name this driver instance as "Acrobat Distiller". The default driver options generally will be OK, but check on paper size and communication protocol (use pure binary, not ASCII, for optimal performance AND no CTRL-D characters). Make sure you preset the Distiller to use the joboptions you want. Print directly to this Acrobat Distiller printer instance. Make sure that the "print to file" option is checked. You will need to manually process the resultant PostScript file through the Distiller (or use a "watched folder" arrangement).
    MacOS -- Install the latest version of AdobePS 8.7.x, downloadable from Adobe's web site. In FrameMaker, go to Page Setup and select the "Virtual Printer" and go to the "Virtual Printer" window pane. Select the Acrobat Distiller PPD file (located in the XTRAS subfolder of the Distiller folder). Print directly to the "Virtual Printer" (Make sure to set Level 3 only, Binary, and font inclusion "All".). Make sure you preset the Distiller to use the joboptions you want. You will need to manually process the resultant PostScript file through the Distiller (or use a "watched folder" arrangement).
    Case 3: Acrobat 3
    Acrobat 3 is not officially supported for the latest OS versions and I personally would no longer recommend its use for generation of PDF files given that Acrobat 5.0.5 is the current version of Acrobat.

    You're asking a lot of ancient Acrobat to work with an Office that never existed when it was made. "Just updated my office suite" is a massive change, and Window 8 didn't exist at that time either...

  • Creating Complaints/Returns from external reference for Billing Documents.

    Hi Experts,
    I have question regarding Creating Complaints/Returns from external reference.
    My requirement is to fetch data for Billing Type, Billing Documents and other related from ECC system and to create Complaints/Returns using the same in Web UI.
    Is there any SPRO configuration as such so that we can pinpoint to the ECC system where it should fetch the data or is there be a custom development involved for the Drop down lists in Web UI?
    I know about the BADI CRM_COPY_BADI_EXTERN which is triggered when creating using reference, but I am not able to see where the method SEARCH_HELP_FOR_EXTERN_DOC or GET_SEARCH_HELP are triggered.
    I have gone through many forums within SDN but not able to find any solution. Please help!
    Regards,
    Mahesh

    Hi Ly,
    I wouldn't be able to share the code with you, but I would ask you to check with the functional counterpart regarding the important fields that are to be copied.
    What I did in my case is, based on the Billing document number passed from CRM in the RFC I hit the tables VBRK and VBRP for header and item data respectively.
    For pricing I passed the relevant fields from KONV table (KSCHL, KWERT, KAWRT etc..)
    For document flow VBFA.
    For partner VBPA.
    I faced issues only with pricing as there were many settings and pricing routine logic differences between CRM and ERP.

  • Unable to create shared mailboxes from a csv file

    Hi,
    I have a list of 130 shared mailboxes that I must create. So I created a CSV file like this:
    Name,Alias,OrganizationalUnit,Database,UserPrincipalName
    John Smith,jsmith,domain.com/accounts/shared,mailbox database A,[email protected]
    Mark Flone,mflone,domain.com/accounts/shared,mailbox database A,[email protected]
    ETC.....
    The list is ready and it is saved.
     import-csv C:\path | New-mailbox -Shared
    the Error is the following:
    "Cannot bind parameter 'Name' to the target. Exception setting "Name": "The property can't be empty."
    I went into my spreadsheet and Trimmed everything, then saved and still the same error result.
    Then I tried the following:
    import-csv C:\temp\sharedMailboxCreationTest.csv | ForEach-Object {New-Mailbox -shared  -Name $_.Name  -Alias $_.Alias  -OrganizationalUnit $_.OrganizationalUnit -UserPrincipalName $_.UPN -Database $_.Database}
    The Error:
    "Cannot bind argument to parameter 'UserPrincipalName' because it is an empty string."
    What am I missing here?
    Alexis

    You have UserPrincipalName column heading in the csv file so this should be your cmdlet.
    import-csv C:\temp\sharedMailboxCreationTest.csv | ForEach-Object {New-Mailbox -shared  -Name $_.Name  -Alias $_.Alias  -OrganizationalUnit $_.OrganizationalUnit -UserPrincipalName $_.UserPrincipalName -Database $_.Database}

  • How to create new documet from the output of another document automatically

    Hi all
    here is the scenario, If we are creating an debit memo request and debit memo to a customer, from the output of this debit memo we need to trigger the creation of another document( Ex credit memo to another customer) automatically, how we can do this?

    Hi Dev,
    You need to create another report program for the other document along with the smartform.
    In the report program, you have to put your logic on how the other document has to be found when your document is created and the output be triggered.
    So in principle,
    There will be two programs linked to your output type.
    One will create the output of the document which is being created,
    Another program will automatically call the other target document in change mode and trigger the same output, during which the second program will be executed.
    Now the second program will create the output for the second document.
    Making copy controls wont help for this reqmt.
    Reward points if it helps.

  • Problems creating a PDF from a large Visio (2010) document

    Hello
    Heres the setup, Windows 7, 64bit, Visio 2010 std, Adobe Acrobat X Standard, a 6.7mb .vsd file with a custom size of 6000 x 3000 mm that I want to convert to a pdf (not for printing)
    Using File menu & save as in Visio converts to a pdf with great quality but cuts the page off, I've spent all day reading about the 200" issue and thats exactly where the cut off is.
    Using right click on the .vsd file in explorer and convert to pdf opens the correct page size in the pdf but the drawing is screwed up, lines moved about, missing stuff etc.
    I dont know
    a) Why there is a difference between the 2 ways of creating the pdf
    b) how to have my cake and eat it! Good quality and right size page
    Unfortunately I cannot use any third party apps, am I screwed?
    Thank you everyone for looking and maybe even offering advice
    Cheers
    Stu

    I looked at every setting as I had the same problem. This is what I found resolved the issue:
    1. Open Adobe Acrobat Reader and go to Edit/Preferences and change the pixel/inch ratio back to the standard.
    2. In Visio, go to Design tab, Size, and then More Page Sizes, and change the page size to Custom (your needed size.) (This opens Page Setup.)
    3. The printer paper size I could not change, but it didn't affect it.
    The first option is what took me an hour to figure out. Hope this helps save people time.

  • How to create an index from more than one pages document?

    I have 10 different pages documents. Each document is a book chapter. Now I would like to create one index for all of these chapters in a new pages-file without copying all files into one single file. How does this work?

    Thanks for your answer. Than this is a real deficit of pages. Have you got any ideas for an alternative solution, that doesn´t force me to work with Microsoft? I have a document of 300 pages, having this in one document is neither practical nor stable. Thank for supporting!

  • Change the profile from an image to a document

    When I scan a document it saves in my computer as an image and I want it to be a document.  When it is a document it gives me the option to save multiple documents in one file but I can't get it back there.  It has some how been changed.  Now it scans as a picture so something that could have been one file has 10 images.

    Hi  I may be able to help you with DeskJet 1512 and your scanning inquiry. When you scan, are you using the HP printer software on the computer? It can be tricky with a printer that only has flatbed scanner glass. To make sur you are in the correct software;Click the Windows icon ()Click All ProgramsClick the HP folderClick the DeskJet 1512 folderThen click HP Scan  This will give you different scan options but these seem to be the ones you need;Save as PDF ... this can be a multiple page documentSave as JPEG ... will be individual image files In this same window you will also want to make sure Show Scan Preview is checked like the above image. When you click Save as PDF, and click the Scan Button - this will save it into one file;
    (If you choose Save as JPEG in the scan settings - it will separate all the files into individual images. )  Once the first page of your scan if complete, put the second page on the scanner glass and click the   button in the bottom left corner of the screen. When all of the pages are showing on the left thumbnail display, click Save.  As long as you have the file type set to PDF, it will save all of the pages as one file.    Please let me know if these steps resolved your issue, or if there is anything else I can do to help.  I look forward to hearing from you!   Thanks,
