Importing .jar package

How would I distribute a .jar package without installing it. I need this because the .jar is the mysql driver and I am not sure how to import it into my code (do I have to extract the files inside) or how to set the classpath I wish to use inside my code.

I think from memory that's how it goes. Should work whether MainClass is in the Jar file or not.

Dear all,
I'm using JDeveloper 11.1.1.3.0 on Windows 7 32bit.
I search this forum and I google a lot, but I couldn't find any workable solution.
I downloaded the newest version of JasperReport and iReport from the official website. I've done some tutorials from this site and everything seems to work fine.
Now I want to integrate JDev with JasperReports. I create new Fusion Web Application ADF, I get the properties of Model project, Libraries and Classpath tab, add Library and click New... I set the Library name as JasperReports, location as Project, check Deploy ad Default. I add to Class path every JAR files in E:\JasperReports\jasperreports-3.7.6\lib and to Source path the whole directory E:\JasperReports\jasperreports-3.7.6\src. I get sure that the Export is checked and I save all the changes.
I create a new Java Class JasperTest and I use this sample code:

I am also facing the same problem, I have few Jasper Reports which are closely integrated with my APEX applications, but for this i am using another application ( Jasper reports) which deployed in tomcat. This application hardly have 20 lines of java code, so i thought of embedding same in PL/SQL itself, But i am facing problem while importing JAR files i.e.
1. Where to put these JAR files so that i can import them in my PL/SQL.
2. I also tried using JAVALOAD function, but that also not worked for me.
Please give me some solution how to go about it??

How to include another .jar package in an applet jar package

Hi, I'm using Eclipse to write an applet which needs some other .jar packages to support it. I add them as external jar package in project properties. In eclipse, everything works fine when I compile and run. But I when export the applet to .jar and try to run in browser, it doesnt work.
I think probably because I didnt export the packages that the applet requires to run. However I cant find a way to export these packages together with the applet to a final .jar file.
Anyone knows how to solve this ? plz help. thx you in advance

I have been having the same problems too but came to realize that it is quite difficult getting your applet to work in most cases when using external jars. I found out thet you will have to create the directory hierarchy with the necessary imported classes used by your applet. and then create a new jar file that you will use in the codebase tag.
For example:

import org.apache.XmlRpcClient;
public MyApplet extends JApplet {
//..... Rest of your code ......
}/* End of snippet */
You would then have to create a the directory structure:
org
_apache
___xmlrpc
Then place all the required classes imported from within (Sometimes it is easier to just add all the classes to save time but lose space i.e. larger jar files).
Execute the jar command (please adjust as needed to your requirements):
jar cvf any_name.jar *.class org/
After signing the applet it may solve your problem. Since I'm working with XmlRpc I still have a lot of problems. If anyone has any advice or tips, please share.

Problem with importing jsp packages

Hi guys. I'm having a problem compiling a class that imports jsp packages.
I'm getting errors along the lines of:
C:\>javac HelloTag.java

- I've copied jsp-api.jar and servlet-api.jar to a folder that's in my path: C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_03\lib\ext

Do not use the CLASSPATH environment variable. Use the -classpath option while compiling and specify the path to your jar file.

How to import JAR file into a class

I have a JAR file that i need to use the content of that file in another class. But when i use "import" syntax, the compiler list down the error that the class of the JAR file is not found.
For example,
import log4j;
after compile, the error is "Class log4j is not found in import".

A common misconception of the import statement is that it would actually do something. Well, it doesn't. It is only a mark for the compiler that you would like to use the shorter name for the classes mentioned, instead of the fully qualified one. You could use the name "java.awt.datatransfer.Clipboard" everywhere you wanted to use the Clipboard class, did you "import" that package or not.
You don't have a class called "log4j" so the compiler complains that it can't find it. Instead, you have classes called org.apache.log4j.* (yes, you can use the * to substitute class names), IIRC. So you could use a import statement with "importorg.apache.log4j.*;" but you don't really have to.
Just make sure that java will found those classes.

Import JWeb packages to JDeveloper

Is there any way to import JWeb packages to a JDeveloper project, such as
import oracle.html.*;
while there is no OAS installed on the same machine? The JDeveloper doesn't seem to include these oracle packages.

No, and the docs say that you need to has OAS installed on the same machine to develop these sort of applications.
You can copy the jar files from the OAS machine into the project classpath for the JDeveloper and then simply use the import command to reference them. This should get you a clean compile, but you will not be able to debug or run it unless OAS is on the same machine.

I need to import javax package in the jsp page, and I copy the relevant Jar file into WEB-INFO/lib folder, but it doesn't work: i execute the page in the IE explorer that is showed "import javax package is not found".

There is no "javax" package. However, there are quite a few "javax.something" packages. You have to give the whole package name to import it, you can't import a group of packages generically.

Iu2019ve updated database statistics and then try to reimport the package again. But It canu2019t import package.

Can Anybody aware of this error. How do I delete the open data extraction process specified here.

I know the list is long. Unfortunately I have never had such a long list of inactive objects in the system during an update or upgrade. But I believe you can make use of the mass activation program RADMASG0 to have them activated. The other option I can think of is to use the function module RS_INACTIVE_OBJECTS_LIST to list all the inactive objects and see whether they can be mass activated from there. I believe it is possible to activate all from there after selecting a block. (Never tried so I cannot guarantee).

Then I tried to import the package into OWB (9.2). The problem came: all the package body and
the specification of TEST_FUNCTION1 were imported, but the package specification of
TEST_FUNCTION2 couldn't be imported. The IMPORT FILTER gave an error message:
"TEST_FUNCTION2: Argument Data type is not supported".
How to resolve this problem? It is very import for our project, since we have to import some
packages with user_defined collection data types as arguments.

Hi Lushu,
Unfortunately this is indeed not supported and I would not know how to work around this one. The only way I guess that this would work is to not import it, and then use Expressions to call the function with inputs.

How to include 3rd party jar package in the native code aiming to generate ane for android

in my native java code,i need to reference a class in another jar package.Simply to say,i want to make use of member functions of a class of some jar package A in the call function of the native class which have implemented the FREFunction class.To generate the native extension,native java code needs to be compiled to a jar package B.i have tried serveral methods to compile jar package A into B.Howerver my flex project failed to proceed when calling function of package A in the call function of native java code.To be sure of the correctness of the package A and B,i referenced them in a java project with main function and succeeded. at the same time my other call functions of classes impemented FREFunction work well,Then, why did i fail referencing package A?

Standard Java does not support jars within other jars.
Either re-architect your stuff so jars in jars is eliminated, or write a custom classloader that can load from them, or look into 3rd-party solutions, which you can find by searching the net and these forums.

How to import .jar files in order to use the classes within this file

hello guys,
I'm just wondering how can i import .jar files in order to uses the classes within this file.
let's take an example:
i have a folder in which I have many .jar files which contain classes to be called. the full path of this folder is set in the Classpath inside the enviroment variables.
so does anyone have any idea how can i import these .jar files so i can use the classes?

My problem is that: I created a Serializable class in a project. And I added this project (first project) to another project (second project). First project is appearing in the second project' s Libraries folder. No problem. I want to create a jar file from second project. i.e. I want to Build second project (I use NetBeans IDE). I am using Build Main Project tab under Run. It is falling out. I am finding it second project' s jar file under its folder. I am clicking on it. But it is NOT WORKING. Do you know WHY. Could you help me please?
