Importing Payment from a Legacy to Oracle R12

All,
There is a requirement for me to import all the payments which have been made thru a legacy system to Oracle R12. Is there any standard interfaces available? If yes, please let me know. If not, what is the best way to import such info to Oracle?
Any suggestion is highly appreciated.
Thanks,
Sen.

Gajendra,
Many thanks for your reply.
Our customer doesnt want to make payment from Oracle payables, instead they have a independent payment module system thru which the payments are made to their suppliers. In this case, they want to sync all the info back to the Oracle apps in a periodical manner. I'm looking for ways to do this integration. There are/is no standard interface tables for payment import. I'm thinking of other options like writing the custom tables. If this is the case, what are all the standard validation required to perform, what are all the Oracle payment base tables etc. I'm looking for such options.
Please let me know your suggestion
Thanks,
Sen

    Dear All,
We are using Oracle Forms 10g in windows XP and having OAS 10g and Oracle database 9i.
How can we import data from SQL Server 2005 into Oracle tables using Oracle Forms?

I have no idea what "Oracle Hetrogenius Services" is, so I can't help you with that, sorry.
SQL Developer might also assist you. SQL Developer can connect to SQL Server as well as Oracle and has some tools for migration. See the documentation for details:

  • Import/Export from Access MDB to Oracle DB

    Dear Friends,
I need to import a huge table from access to Oracle. I tried to export the file from MS Access to Oracle, it is giving error. I tried another way of doing , i first exported the data to SQL server and then using Export/Import utility of SQL Server, it has imported succesfully. I am not sure which is the best way to import data from ACCESS to Oracle.
    Kindly suggest,
    Regards,
    Vinay

Another approach you might try goes something like this:
    1. In Access, link the destination Oracle table (for example, via File, Get External Data, Link Tables...).
    2. In Access, create an Append Query to select rows from your Access table and insert them in to the linked Oracle table.

  • Importing Database from SQL Server into Oracle 8i

    Hello Friends,
Cuurentlly we are using SQL Server as our application database, Now we want to switch on at Oracle 8i,bcz of some problems,
If anybody had done so,then please help me in solving this problem,
I wana Import whole database from SQL server to Oracle
    Lot of thanks

    Hi,
Use the SQL Server Enterprise Manager to export all the tables from SQL to oralce.
When selecting the target database use the Oracle native driver (the name is not on top of my head) and not the ODBC one.
You will have problems with datatypes. Make sure to edit the mappings for the proper datatype if required.
If you have ntext columns, make sure they are translated to CLOB and not long.

    Wasim.

  • Importing data from MS-Access into Oracle 9i

I want to import data from access into oracle 9i. I already contain the same data in Oracle but these Access files contain updates and additional data to the existing data . So i need help to import in such a way that origional data remain same just addional data and updates come from MS-Access.

    Hi,
You can achieve this by using the SQL Loader, which will help you out to load the data.
For further reference check the below link
    http://lbd.epfl.ch/f/teaching/courses/oracle8i/server.815/a67792/ch05.htm#1261
As you said that you have existing data in the table and you have Update's too. you have the Options like
APPEND which you will useful to add the new records.

  • Import data from a file into oracle db

    Hello!
The problem is the following: data within a file must be placed
into several tables in a oracle server. For that a program has
to be written. It4s not done with executing a program cause the
data in the file can vary and depending on different flags the
import into oracle must be done. Now we tried the classes of
oo4o to access the db, but this only works for integer values,
the samples from oracle also only work for integer. We don4t
need to use oo40, is there a better / other way to write the
programm ? Has anybody a free sample ?
    Thanx

ur problem is to import the data from file with different conditions which needs to be taken care programitically
Pls mail me your file and ur logic

  • Import data from SQL Server to Oracle

I have created a dblink in oracle to access the SQL database. I am able to run queries through the dblink and it works fine. I have created a test table on Oracle Server to import the data. The field named "description" has CLOB data type. The corresponding datatype on SQL Server is varchar(7000).
When I insert the data from SQL Server, it completes successfully without any error but it truncates the data on CLOB field.
If I run the select query in SQLPlus I can see the entire description.
    Select "description" from sql_view@dblink;
    -- the above works fine.
    CREATE table test
    (description CLOB);
    INSERT INTO TEST
    Select "description" from sql_view@dblink;
-- this works but it truncates the data after 256 characters
My question is, how to get the data from SQL Server without truncating characters.
    Thanks in advance,
    Gopal

I hear the same from other friend that sql server truncated the leading zeros from the id column.
I really don't have a solution for this but you can try the work around. Export the data to flat file and upload in oracle using SQL loader, as this would be much faster and efficient.

  • Problem in importing data from shape file to Oracle Spatial

The following error is being displayed
    symbol : constructor ShapefileReaderJGeom(java.lang.String)
    location: class oracle.spatial.util.ShapefileReaderJGeom
Though i have downloaded latest Spatial Java class library (sdo_java_040319.zip) file and properly set sdoapi.jar and sdoutl.jar in the classpath.
How can i get rid of this problem. Is it because i am still using old spatial java library for some other programs.

  • DATA IMPORT from MS.ACCESS TO ORACLE DATABASE

I have an MS ACCESS MDB file , I to import all the Tables and Data into ORACLE DATABASE through FORMS.Because this file is on Client side, and maintain on daily basis ,so it is very hard to import manually daily through traditional ODBC method, for that our one team member busy all day with that issue.
Is it possible in our forms to import data from MS.ACCESS to ORACLE. I tried HOST command but it doesn't work.
Data structure and Table Name are same both is MS Access and Oracle.
We are Oracle 8i and Developer 6i

Like i said in my previous post, the same steps that you used to do manually, you need to do it through forms, it's not that straight forward, you need to do lots of coding.
connect form to MS Access db read the data, and insert them into oracle tables.
Search the forum, there are solutions previously posted, and keep checking the online help .

  • DMS massive import documents from legacy system

    Hello Gurues,
I am new in DMS and I would need some guidelines in order to massively import documents from a legacy system to DMS (content server).
After that, I am expecting to be able to mass assign those documents to EHS Specification header and property level (PLM).
Hope you can help me with it.
    Thanks in advance

    HI Karina,
for mass import or upload the document use LSMW or BDC method. For addign the new objects as your objects are not in DMS standard objects list use the following link:

We don't know the "query on Importing data from Microsoft Excel to Oracle Database (Multiple Data Tables). "
We don't know where you posted said query.
We don't know what "some answer and reference" you received "from the forum."
We don't know what it was that your "Oracle consultant and representative from Oracle Malaysia" said was "impossible".
So on what basis are we supposed to "help or direct" to "to an expert that can help "?

  • Import data from sql server /vice versa

My Database serevr version is 10.1.0.3.0.
    Sql Server 2000.
Is it possible to import data from sql server to oracle database?
    Also other way around.
I mean import data from Oracle to sql server.
    Regards,
    D

    Hi,
You can use Heterogeneous Service to do this. This component is free but poor of resources. Simple things you can do with this, complex I really don't know.
Also, to import from sqlserver to oracle you can use Oracle Warehouse Builder, an Oracle ETL tool. But, OWB do not work in other way, oracle to sqlserver.
And why do want to use sqlserver, if you have oracle?
