Improvements to status code explanations requested

There are some status code explanations in the 9.0.4.x
CSDK that could probably use some refinement to be more
useful to application developers.
Two examples:
1."CAPI_STAT_LIBRARY_INTERNAL_DATA = There was a corruption of data in the library."
This might not always indicate that data in the
calendar store is corrupted - which is the way we
initially interpreted this error - but rather that
data provided to be stored is in some way invalid.
Example: calling storeEvents() with an
iCalendar whose DTSTART property was after
DTEND (i.e. start date after ending date),
returned the status "CAPI_STAT_LIBRARY_INTERNAL_DATA".
Example: calling Session.storeEvents() with an iCalendar
whose start and end dates are in a non-UTC TZ in a format
similar to "DTSTART;TZID=US/Pacific:20040517T101500",
that method returned "CAPI_STAT_LIBRARY_INTERNAL_DATA".
Fix: include an appropriate VTIMEZONE component
for that timezone in the submitted iCalendar.
2. Any of the explanations below, which begin with
"Information about ..."
These often seem to indicate that a data format error
has occurred, and that the application developer
needs to modify the format of the data to have it
accepted. The "Information about ..." explanation
doesn't adequately convey that.
Examples:
When calling storeEvents() with an iCalendar with a
missing CR/LF between VEVENT components, that method
returned the status "CAPI_STAT_DATA_ICAL".
Some of the relevant status explanations include:
CAPI_STAT_DATA_COOKIE = Information about the supplied cookie.
CAPI_STAT_DATA_DATE = Information about a date.
CAPI_STAT_DATA_EMAIL = Information about email.
CAPI_STAT_DATA_ENCODING = Information about the encoding of supplied data.
CAPI_STAT_DATA_HOSTNAME = Information about a hostname.
CAPI_STAT_DATA_ICAL = Information about iCalendar data.
CAPI_STAT_DATA_MIME = Information about MIME data.
CAPI_STAT_DATA_UID = Information about a UID.
CAPI_STAT_DATA_USERID = Information about a userID.
In contrast, explanations like the following are much
clearer:
CAPI_STAT_DATA_USERID_FORMAT = The format of the UserId string was wrong.
CAPI_STAT_DATA_USERID_ID = There was a problem with the Id part of the UserId string.
Any improvements such as these in the status code
explanations returned would be welcome, and might help
save debugging time for those new to the CSDK.

Thanks Aaron,
Some notable improvements are coming in the next version of the Oracle Calendar application developer's guide, and your comments will be added for consideration.

  • Mechanism to return status code explanations?

    Does Oracle provide an mechanism in the SDK to return longer and presumably more end-user understandable explanations of SDK status codes, such as (for instance) "Logon authentication failed." when provided with the integer value of the status code whose string representation is 'CAPI_STAT_SECUR_LOGON_AUTH'?
    In other words, is an integral lookup table of this type already present in the SDK -- even if the explanations are currently provided only in the English language and perhaps even are not customizable -- or would we need to build our own?
    (This question could also be extended to apply to the status codes emitted by the Calendar Web Services ...)

    No, there is no corresponding message (English or otherwise) for the status codes in the Calendar SDK today.
    However you should be able to find descriptions of the status codes in the SDK documentation.

    I cleared the network history cache first: did not fix completely, but seemed to make it better. Next I cleared the everything out of the cooke cache except the cookies themselves: seemed to make problem much worse! Finally I cleared the cookies themselves: made problem much better, but still not 100%
    I think you are onto somethng, mha007. Perhaps the problem occurs as firefox checks to see if the page is already in its cache, or if the page's cookie is on record. Somewhere along the line the requested address gets screwed up.

  • Error code: InternalError, Http status code: 500 while testing an experiment

    Creating a very simple experiment with just a Dataset, followed by a simple regresion using an Execute
    R Task , I get an internal server error while testing the published experiment
    Hitting run everything goes smooth and I can see all data,but when i hit 'test' from the web services dashboard
    right after publishing,I get this:
    Error code: InternalError, Http status code: 500, Request id: d87e2d01-16ef-4ac9-8a5d-a58d41aab2d4, Timestamp: Tue,
    03 Mar 2015 12:19:55 GMT
    How can I handle this ?
    Thank you in advance.

    Hi Shreyas!
    Are you familiar with the tryCatch() function in R? in your error condition, you can return the error message a bit more cleanly as shown in the following code snippet. FYI one common error we see is R scripts that are not able to handle a single-row input
    or with mismatched data types.
    tryCatch({
    # Do what you want in here
    maml.mapOutputPort("data.set");
    }, error = function(e) {
    data.set = data.frame(errormsg = conditionMessage(e))
    print(conditionMessage(e));
    maml.mapOutputPort("data.set");

  • Test published web service experiment error with Status Code 400

    I have created an experiment in Azure ML Studio free version that works perfectly in Azure ML Studio when running. After the web service publication I am presented with the following error when I call a test for my web service.
    5: Error 0085: The following error occurred during script evaluation, please view the output log for more information: ---------- Start of error

    The input data for the test are:
    userID = "U5000"
    restaurant = "resA"
    rating=1
    These data are exactly the saame data that my experiment takes as input in Azure ML Studio running mode. My experiment is consisted of 2 python scripts and one meta data editor. The first python script reads the input data, calculates and feeds them into
    the metadata editor and the metadata editor feeds the result into the second python script. The second python script module code is very simply and just pivots the data fed:
    import pandas as pd
    def azureml_main(dataframe1):
       newtable = pd.pivot_table(dataframe1, index="restaurant", columns='userID', values="rating")
       return newtable,
    I cannot understand what is the error and why it is not raised during the running proccess but it is rised during the testing web service proccess. I should note here that when I use only one python script module the above error is not raised in the web
    service call.  Waiting for your response
    Thank you very much.

  • How to capture the Status code in Web application Transcation monitoring if we are using multiple Request

    Hi Team
    We would like to monitor 12 url,s which requires Authentication. Hence i have added the same in one Single Web application transcation template.
    i have added the below info to the get the Stats code displayed in Alert
    Status code is $Data/Context/RequestResults/RequestResult["1"]/BasePageData/StatusCode$
    when i recived a alert it gave the Status code of the 1st Request
    hence i changed the same as
    Status code is $Data/Context/RequestResults/RequestResult["12"]/BasePageData/StatusCode$
    But still i am facing the same issue .
    My first request shows me a status code of 200, and my 12th Request comes with 500 but in the alert i get 200 but it should be 500.
    Kindly help me in how i can get the Status code for the multiple  Request.
    Regards
    Sriram

    Hi Sriram,
    Please run the test of your 12th Request, view full result and check if Status Code is 200.
    Meanwhile, you can run the URL manually to check the result.

  • How to Implement HTTP Request Status Code Processing

    I actually have two questions. First, I wondering how to add multiple status code processing to an http request. Secondly, I was wondering how to go about using alternate http requests to different servers in case the primary server is down. What kind of parameter would the program use to determine that the server is unavailable and switch to another server??
    Currently, the program I've written calls an rdf server (http://www.rdfabout.com/sparql) using a sparql query,
    the server returns an xml string, the program parses it, and calculates numbers
    from the string. The program works, but the problem is that the server is down occasionally.
    When the server is down, we need to add calls to another server to
    increase reliability. So, the next task is to call this server:
    http://www.melissadata.com/lookups/ZipDemo2000.asp
    I need to do exactly the same things I did with the rdf server. The
    difference will be constructing a request and a bit different parsing of
    the response.
    current SPARQL query is defined as follows:
    PREFIX dc:  <http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/>
    PREFIX census: <http://www.rdfabout.com/rdf/schema/census/>
    PREFIX census1: <tag:govshare.info,2005:rdf/census/details/100pct/>
    DESCRIBE ?table WHERE {
    <http://www.rdfabout.com/rdf/usgov/geo/census/zcta/90292> census:details
    ?details .
    ?details census1:totalPopulation ?table .
    ?table dc:title "SEX BY AGE (P012001)" .
    }current HTTP Request is defined as follows:
    import java.net.*;
    import java.net.URL;
    import java.net.URLConnection;
    import java.io.*;
    import java.io.DataOutputStream;
    import java.io.BufferedReader;

    import java.io.InputStreamReader;
    import java.io.PrintStream;

         static Scanner sc = new Scanner(System.in);//allows user to input zipcode
        public static void main(String[] args) throws Exception
             int zip;//zipcode is declared as integer format
            //User defines zip through input
            //proceed to put SPARQL query into string, which is then used to call the server
            String requestPart1 =

            String response = "";
            URL url = new URL("http://www.rdfabout.com/sparql");//designates server to connect to
            URLConnection conn = url.openConnection();//opens connection to server
            // Set connection parameters.
            conn.setDoInput (true);
            conn.setDoOutput (true);
            conn.setUseCaches (false);
            // Make server believe we are form data…
            conn.setRequestProperty("Content-Type","application/x-www-form-urlencoded");
            DataOutputStream out = new DataOutputStream (conn.getOutputStream ());
            // Write out the bytes of the content string to the stream.
            out.writeBytes(requestPart1 + requestPart2 + requestPart3);
            out.flush ();
            out.close ();
            // Read response from the input stream.
            BufferedReader in = new BufferedReader (new InputStreamReader(conn.getInputStream ()));
            String temp;
            while ((temp = in.readLine()) != null)
                 response += temp + "\n";
            temp = null;
            in.close ();
            //parsing stuff is taken care of after here
    }What remains now is to:
    1) add status code processing: notify if the server is not available, ect.
    2) add ability to connect to additional server if primary server is down.
    I'm thinking an if/else statement, which I've tried a few different ways,
    but I don't quite know how to implement that...Also trying to add the
    status code processing/error handling, but I'm not sure how to do that
    for multiple/different errors, such as 404, 503, 504, ect.. try/catch statements?
    So yeah, just been scratching my head on this trying to figure out how to work it..
    If you can help me out on this, I've been going nuts trying to figure this out...

    I think your issue comes form the fact that you are not casting URLConnection to HttpURLConnection.
    Doing the cast would allow you to use getResponseCode() - among other methods - and test for a response different than 200.

  • Error: Request failed. unexpected response from server. the status code of response is '0' in safari browser

    Hi,
    I am using Javascript serializer to send server side code to javascript.
    This works in IE 9, Mozilla, chrome. But fails with error in Safari as "request failed. unexpected response from server. the status code of response is '0' . status text of the response is ". null
    My code is as below:
    <asp:UpdatePanel ID="panLayout" runat="server">
    <ContentTemplate>
    <div id="divloadingImage" >
    <br />
    <asp:Image ID="imgLoading" runat="server" ImageUrl="/images/rotate.gif" ImageAlign="Middle" />
    <br />
    </div>
    <div id="banner-fade" >
    <ul id="carousel" class="bjqs">
    </ul>
    </div>
    <asp:Timer ID="timerRSS" Interval="1" runat="server" ontick="timerRSS_Tick"></asp:Timer>
    </ContentTemplate>
    </asp:UpdatePanel>
    In CS:
    protected void timerRSS_Tick(object sender, EventArgs e)
    DisplayImages();
    divloadingImage.Visible = false;
    bannerfade.Visible = true;
    timerRSS.Enabled = false;
    private void DisplayImages()
    List<SharePointListItem> allImages = GetallImages();
    JavaScriptSerializer serializer = new JavaScriptSerializer();
    string json = serializer.Serialize(allImages);
    string script = string.Format("<script type=\"text/javascript\">var allSliderImages={0}</script>", json);
    if (!this.Page.ClientScript.IsClientScriptBlockRegistered("clientScripts"))
    ScriptManager.RegisterClientScriptBlock(panLayout, panLayout.GetType(), "clientScripts", script, false);
    string scriptRegister = string.Format("<script type=\"text/javascript\">FetchData();</script>");
    ScriptManager.RegisterClientScriptBlock(panLayout, panLayout.GetType(), "clientScriptData", scriptRegister, false);
    In Javascript:
    function FetchData() {
    if (typeof allSliderImages !== "undefined") {
    for (var i = 0; i < allSliderImages.length; i++) {
    Imagesuccess(allSliderImages[i].fileleafref, allSliderImages[i].filedirref, allSliderImages[i].caption1);
    var rota = $("#bannerfade");
    rota.css("display", "block");
    function Imagesuccess(fileLeaf, fileDir, UserCaption1) {
    var ul = $('#bannerfade > ul');
    var li;
    var filename = fileLeaf;
    var dir = fileDir;
    var caption1 = UserCaption1;
    var sfils = filename;
    filename = dir + '/' + filename;
    var imageCaptionData;
    if (caption1 != null && caption1 != "") {
    imageCaptionData = '<div class="HeadlineDiv">' + caption1 + '</div>';
    li = $('<li>' + imageCaptionData + '<div class="SubHeadline" style="color:white;">' + '<br/></div>' + '<img src="' + filename + '"/>' + '</li>');
    ul.append(li);
    $('#bannerfade').bjqs({
    height: 354,
    width: 970,
    responsive: true
    Below is the data I get:
    <script type="text/javascript">
    var allSliderImages=[{"id":"1","Title":"Scenic","caption1":"scenic","fileleafref":"02.jpg","filedirref":"/s/Test/Library"},
    {"id":"2","Title":"nature","caption1":"scenic2","fileleafref":"C034.jpg","filedirref":"/s/Test/Library"},
    {"id":"3","Title":"Tiff","caption1":"Tiff","fileleafref":"test_tiff.tif","filedirref":"/s/Test/Library"}]</script>
    The data is shown in all browsers except Safari. How to fix this?
    Update: I have checked this link: http://sharepoint.sureshc.com/2013/07/unexpected-response-data-from-server-in.html
    but that did not help.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    From
    this documentation, though SharePoint 2013 supports several commonly used web browsers including Apple Safari (latest released version), it is not guarantee
    that SharePoint 2013 can run perfectly on all these browsers, “certain web browsers could cause some SharePoint 2013 functionality to be downgraded, limited, or available only through alternative steps”.
    According to the code provided, it seems more relate to ASP.NET, therefore, a suggestion is that you can open a thread in ASP.NET forum, communities there will be more familiar
    with this issue:
    http://forums.asp.net/
    Thanks

    Many applications of my iphone 4 do not proceed..I'm feeling bore to use it.So i request the concerned authority to provide me RESTORE PASSWORD to improve the status of my iphone 4...I didn't found it....maybe restoring iphone may settle down my problem & bring my iphone in good condition/wholly refreshed...PLEASE PLEASE all the people are higly requested...

    What are you talking about?
    Either restate the question, or post in your native language. "So i request the concerned authority to provide me RESTORE PASSWORD to improve the status of my iphone 4" Is unclear at best.
    If you're having some kind of problem, then explain what it is including the exact text of any error messages you're getting.
