In Adobe Acrobat Pro XI, is there a way to set defaults when combining files?

My specific problem;  When I combine files, Adobe creates the bookmarks (which is desirable).  These bookmarks however, always seem to default on "page width" view.  I would prefer to have the bookmarks set to "fit page".  It is very cumbersome to edit each bookmark to reset the view.  (this is another issue which should be addressed as well).
My preferences already are set to view the files in fit page, single page, however this setting does not seem to transfer to the combined file.
Is there a way to globally set the preferences for this?  Even the settings during the combining function do not give options for the page view settings.

There isn't a way to set this during the Combine process but it's easy to change all the bookmarks in one go using the following technique:
Open the bookmark navigation pane and select all the bookmarks (be sure to expand all subbookmarks).
Right-click and choose Properties from the context-sensitive menu.
Click the Actions tab and choose Execute a menu item from the dropdown.
Click the Add button and choose View > Zoom > Zoom to Page Level and click OK.

  • I have created an editable PDF via Adobe Indesign. When I open the PDF in Adobe Acrobat Pro DC, is there a way to specify a font style? Or is there a way in InDesign to make sure when someone type in that text field it is a certain font?

    I need to make sure the text that is entered is a certain font to keep it continuous with the rest of the document. Thank you!

    To go into form editing mode, select "Prepare Form" in the right hand pane. You'll then get a toolbar along the top that contains the various form-related tools. The first thing to do is add a temporary button. You'll use this to determine the name of the font for use with the script as well as place the script that will change the font properties of the text fields. So create a button anywhere, double-click it to bring up the field properties dialog, and on the Actions tab add a JavaScript action to the Mouse Up event that is:
    // Mouse Up script for temporary button
    app.alert(event.target.textFont);
    On the Appearance tab, select the font that you want to use for the text fields. Once you've done that, close form editing mode and click the button. It will display a popup that will list the font name. This may be different than the name that appeared in the dropdown on the appearance tab, so write it down. For example, when I chose "Minion Pro" from the dropdown, the popup showed "MinionPro-Regular".
    The next step is to replace that Mouse Up script with the following:
    // Mouse Up script for temporary button
    // Change the font and font size for all text field in this document
    for (var i = 0; i < numFields; i++) {
        var f = getField(getNthFieldName(i));
        if (f.type === "text") {
            f.textFont = "MinionPro-Regular";
            f.textSize = 9;
    Replace "MinionPro-Regular" with the font name that you wrote down before and set the font size to whatever you want. Use 0 to specify a font size of "Auto".
    This script will change the font of all text fields to whatever you specify. When you've confirmed that the text fields are set up as you want, you can go ahead and delete or hide the button. If you think you'll be doing a lot of forms work, you can create custom tools in Acrobat to speed up this process, but this should get you started. InDesign won't let you specify a lot of field properties and actions, so you have to work this way, and using automation scripts is an accessible way to significantly speed up the process and avoid mistakes.

  • Is there any way to set default column widths in the Finder's Column view

    When my Finder windows open in column view, all the columns are always VERY wide. I have to then spend time resizing them to a managable width. Is there any way to set default column widths in the Finder's Column view?
    <Re-Titled By Host>

    No, because you can't set a columns view default.

  • Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 - I have serial #, lost installation cd, cannot find downloadable files.

    I have a license for Adobe Acrobat Pro 9, however, I've lost my installation disc. I was able to download files from Abobe, but when I entered my serial number from my account, it says invalid. I noticed it may be because it says it is the 9 Pro Extended version.
    Is this why my serial number is not valid and if so, where can I get the files I need for version 9?
    Thank you!

    The only public download is for 9 Pro, not Extended. If you are talking about the latter you will have to see if one of the staff will provide the link to you. If you are looking for Pro, it is at http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/acrobat-downloads.html.

  • Acrobat or Reader: Is there a way to set the print scaling default at the application level?

    Is there a way to set the Page/Print Scaling to a default at the application level? For Acrobat and Reader?
    Thanks,

    Often asked, but that feature retains the last used local setting.
    You can however, change the default for Documents, individually, in their Properties > Advanced tab

  • Is there a way to set default PDF options/presets in Illustrator CS5?

    I do a lot of design and have a custom preset created for saving my .ai files to .pdf. It's not a big deal but it's a little tedious switching from the default adobe PDF preset to my custom preset every time I save as to a PDF (Besides the ocassional times where I forget to switch it altogether, having my preset set to default would eliminate that).
    So I guess is there a way to set my custom preset as the default option for .PDFs? Thanks.

    Unfrotunately, I tried that and I guess you're not allowed to delete the presets that Adobe's created in Illustrator
    (Unless there's a way to find the actual preset file in Finder and delete that? Not sure because I've deleted the presets in HD/Library/Application Support/Adobe/ AdobePDF/Settings but an Illustrator Default still appears).
    Thanks though.

  • When right clicking on a doc file and choosing create a pdf file....Word 2013 launches and creates problems. We are using Acrobat Pro. Is there a way to turn off this feature in Word 2013?

    Is there a way around Word 2013 hijacking Acrobat Pro "create a pdf" process? When right clicking on a doc file and choosing "create a pdf" .......the Acrobat process will beging but then Word 2013 jumps in and creates problems.

    That's exactly why it needs to support it... The support means the
    application was tested in the supported environment and is known to work
    well in it. In unsupported environments you can get all kind of strange
    conflicts like the one you're experiencing.

  • Updated MacBook Pro with Yosemite and to Adobe Acrobat Pro 10.1.12, won't "share" or attach annotated PDF file

    Anyone have a fix for this?

    Count me in, I have the same issue, and from what I read here, it looks like a Yosemite/SSD related issue ?
    I'm not 100% sure if it started when I put a SSD in my old iMac 2009 (as a fusion drive) or if that's after that when I upgraded to Yosemite...
    I did disable auto poweroff like suggested in another thread : Mac freeze during the night sleep.
    sudo pmset -a autopoweroff 0
    We'll see if it helps.
    It happens toughly a couple of times a week.

  • How do i copy several tracks at the same time in Logic Pro or is there a way to set multiple loops in one song?

    For example in an AABA song format, do I have to record the 3 As and then do another to fade out and end?  Seems like it would be much easier to create the part once and tell LP how many times and when to repeat each part.  HELP!!

    Do you have to copy each track separately? It would be much easier if I could select all the tracks together for copying/pasting.
    You cannot select multiple tracks in LP9, but you CAN select multiple regions. Use Shift-Click to select the parts on the tracks you want to copy, then hold the "option" key and drag them to the new position. This will create a copy at the new position.
    Let's say you have tracks for piano, drums and bass. In the arrange window, click on the 8-bar "A" part for piano. Hold shift key and click on the drums region then again for the bass region. All three will be selected. Now hold the option key and drag all three sections to the right to place them on bar 25.
    Also, how do you specify that you only want to loop X times? I can get a perpetual loop but I have to turn it off to get it to stop.  This is very inconvenient when I'm playing.
    You can control looping in a few ways.
    1. Go to a region that does NOT have looping checked. Click near the TOP RIGHT of the region in the arrange window. Drag to the right to specify where the looping will stop. This is tricky... if you click too low, it will extend the length of the region. You must click the correct spot near the top to control looping.
    2. For a region where looping is checked, go to the end of the region in the arrange window (at the end of the song) and do as #1 above. Drag to the left until you reach the point where you want the region to stop looping.
    3. Use the "pencil" tool to create a blank region where you want the first region to stop looping. If your 8-bar verse is repeating once, create a blank region at bar 17. The first region will stop looping there.
    Hope this helps.

  • Is there a way to set default search settings in the app store

    I would like to filter out all the children's apps.  There seem to be more apps for kids than adults and I get tired of wading through them all.

    Hi GB,
    Are you talking about the stationary for the inside/body of the email (which BD gave great instructions for) or are you talking about the background color/highlight for the email as it appears in your sent folder?
    I use my Mac Mail to manage several different email accounts from a variety of sources. I color code them so I can tell which account the email came into/from by just looking at the screen. If this will help, I (or one of us) can help you set this up in Mail's Rules.
    Let me know.
    Smiles,

  • Is there a way to set default build-in for a presentation?

    There seems a major regression in the most recent Keynote. I used to be able to edit the master slides I use to add build-in animations, so that all my slides would build in in the same way. But when I try to do that now, it says "animations aren't available on master slides".
    Can this be done?

    I'm not going to lie. At first I was extremely disappointed that they removed transitions from master slides. I used it all the time.
    After fiddling with it for a while, I think I'll be fine . I still use the master page for layout and formatting, but I then just create some template-like slides with the transitions based off the masters. You can then create a new slide by duplicating a template and customizing it. Once you're done, you can tell Keynote to "skip" the template slides so they don't show up in your presentation.
    Here's the nice thing I've found. After you've customized a lot of slides based off of a master, then change the master, it doesn't change your transitions. I used to have to go in and fix a ton of transitions after updating the master slide.
    Hopefully this is a decent alternative for Keynote master slides with transitions.

  • Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.5.0 will not print SRA3 size paper

    I created an Adobe InDesign file 320x450mm (SRA3) and saved it as a a High Quality PDF. However, when I print from Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 with SRA3 paper size settings, it defaults to A4 and the printer will not register the SRA3 paper size request. The tech from Canon updated the printer driver which increased print dialog options such as Paper Handling, Paper Source etc. (which I didn't have before) and spent over an hour running tests. We both agreed there was a software issue since there were not issues from other software:
    I can print SRA3 files from InDesign and Microsoft Word, but not Adobe Acrobat Pro.
    This is an ongoing problem since I often receive artwork in PDF format at this size.
    My workaround is to place the PDF into InDesign, line up the crops by eye and print to SRA3 paper which works fine until I need to do a double sided print which becomes slightly innacurate and often time consuming.
    Canon printer driver specs:
    V2.0
    iR-ADV C5045/5051 PS (UK)

    What happens if you select other paper sizes? Also ensure that 'choose paper source by PDF page size' is not checked at your print dialog.
    Kindly let us know your results and if possible please forward us your pdf at [email protected]
    Looking forward to help you out.

  • Adobe Acrobat Pro XI Missing Deactivation in drop down

    I work for a small business. Plenty of users have this product Adobe Acrobat Pro XI. There is SIMPLY NOT a Deactivation button in the Help drop down. CONTRARY to what Adobe's help says online, this is NOT working and it's kind of ridiculous I have to work so hard to deactivate this product to install it again. That should be elementary. Any help appreciated so I can get my people working again using this product would be so great. Thank You

    Hi forumdweller,
    You're right; it should not be a chore to deactivate your software. You mention that you work for a small business; did that business buy a volume license for Acrobat? If so, so there wouldn't be a Deactivate option, and you'd have to contact the volume licensing administrator in your office for help.
    If Acrobat was part of a suite, then try deactivating from another product in the suite.
    Please see Activation & Deactivation Help.
    Best,
    Sara
