In Iphoto, using a MacBook when looking at a slideshow, how do you turn the music down or temporarily off?
When viewing photos in IPhoto, using a slideshow, how do you turn down the music or just turn it off? Thank you.
This answer applies to iPhoto '09 version 8.1.2 (424)
The mute button on the keyboard and the volume control buttons are still active during a slideshow.
Or you can uncheck the 'play music' option in the Slideshow settings and the slides will play with no sound.
If you have a linked Apple Remote and are using it to play the slideshow, the plus and minus buttons also control volume.

I just updated to ios 7 on my iPhone 4 how do you turn the apps off when your not using them? The old way of double clicking and then pressing the app until a red minus button comes doesn't work it opens it back up!?

Go to Settings-Sounds-Text Tone and change to None. You're referring to the sound when posting a message to someone else, correct? The only issue is if you set to none, you will not hear the incoming either.

Let me give more details..We have 3 iPods and 2 iPhone4....I recently purchased the iPhone4 and when we connected it..It was already reading my wife's iPhone4..We went to the Apple Store at the Grove today and was told to de-authorize the system and connect my iPhone4 back and I should be able to change the name.
Nothing happened..Right now, I clicked on RESTORE settings...and it is uploading a new iPhone update. -
I am using Firefox browser, My email program is Yahoo.com and my Home page is Yahoo. My OS is Windows XP. When composing an email I sometimes want to increase the print size of the text in the email. I do not know the procedure to do this. Is sometimes prints very small.

If you are talking about the font only in your email, then that's a yahoo issue:

If you think EVERYTHING is too small, you can try using [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-do-i-use-zoom Zoom]. This will increase/decrease the size of everything on the page. You can try hitting ''CTRL and +'' a few times to try it out. ''CTRL and 0'' will return it to normal size.
If that isn't what you are looking for you, you might want to look into some of the [[Accessibility]] options. There is lots of good information in that article.

How can you turn the screen off without access to the power button and without using auto-lock?
We are using iPads that are locked down with Guided Access and secured within hard plastic mounts screwed down onto a countertop. We can press the home button with a paperclip, but that's it. We don't want to use auto-lock because there might be several hours where the terminals aren't used, but we don't want them to go to sleep during business hours, otherwise we'll have to grab a paper clip and turn them back on. Also, if we set the auto-lock to several hours, then the iPads wouldn't be off for very long at night. I want to turn them off when we close at night, but it's challenging to open the cases and lift the iPads out, so that's not a reasonable option.
Any thoughts?Look for a new case.
There is varying opinions where it is best to power down electronics overnight or leave them on all the time to lengthen the life of a device.
I power down to save electricity at night.

When opening a new tab, how can you make the cursor automatically go to the address bar?
In my previous version of firefox, the cursor would go directly to the address bar when I opened a new tab. Thus, I could start typing the web address I wanted to go to immediately. However I upgraded to Firefox 4 today and I now have to manually click in the address bar. Is there any way to change this in settings or by installing a specific add-on?

When your Shuffle is connected- How do you View the songs that are on it?
So when I connect the shuffle to the computer it shows up in itunes. I can click on it and it takes me to the summary page with several tabs (music, podcast, etc), but I can't seem to figure out how to see what songs I have uploaded to the device? Any ways to figure this out, your help is appreciated

You need to click the small arrow on the left hand side your iPod's device name in the left hand pane of iTunes as seen in this photo (in this case the name of the iPod is in fact iPod ). Doing so will open up a small menu underneath.

When making a photo page, how do you make the chosen template active?
I have one photo page with a black template that works fine.
I made a second photo page with a kid's pink template. When I start the slideshow on the kids pink the show changes to black. The pink will not appear? Iweb is taking the first photo show template as a default for all other photo shows?
