HT5500 can't see Facebook events in the Calendar

I choose the option to sync calendar with Facebook events in settings, but I still can't see them in the calendar, and even though I checked the Facebook calendar in the calendar list. what am I missing?

I'm having the same problem. A few notes in case this might jog someone into realizing what's going on.
I removed all the Facebook apps on my phone, disabled all of the facebook integration settings, rebooted it, and started from scratch ... multiple times. Even disabled the other calendar sources I have. (Google and work CalDav.) No luck.
If I go into Settings-->Facebook, turn on Contacts integration, and go back to the Calendar.app I can enable Facebook Birthdays and they come across fine. You would think that the iOS to Facebook authorization is handled in one spot but perhaps that isn't the case.
I've looked up and down the Facebook settings via the web site and the iPhone app. Nothing looks amiss. (See previous comment about authorization.)
I have, for lack of better words, messed around heavily with my iPhone Calendar and Contacts settings. I started with syncing with Google contacts and Googe Cal over the net directly, then moving to CalDAV and CardDAV, for both. At various times I messed with iCloud sync as well and adding the same Google services to my Mac laptop Calendar and Contacts app. Currently, I'm back to Google for CalDav and CardDav over the net on the iPhone and the Mac. Everything works pretty well except some Contact fields don't line up, which usually isn't a problem and, of course, Facebook events no longer show.
Why do I mention all that? Perhaps some of you have tried similar things and we've corrupted one of the internal settings files or plist and put our phones into an unrecoverable state. I can't recall when the Facebook events stopped showing after I messed with things because ...
The events stopped syncing but some of the old ones were around for a bit. They all dissapered once I started trying to fix it but it wasn't like they were all gone one day. When I noticed this problem it was because events I were adding stopped showing up but there were still a few listed. Almost as if the sync stopped kicking in but the events themselves were still cached.
Anyway ... that's probably tl;dr length but hopefully it will jog some brain cells.

You can use these steps to check if images are blocked:
*Open the web page that has the images missing in a browser tab.
*Click the website favicon ([[Site Identity Button]]) on the left end of the location bar.
*Click the "More Information" button to open the "Page Info" window with the Security tab selected (also accessible via "Tools > Page Info").
*Go to the <i>Media</i> tab of the "Tools > Page Info" window.
*Select the first image link and scroll down through the list with the Down arrow key.
*If an image in the list is grayed and there is a check-mark in the box "<i>Block Images from...</i>" then remove that mark to unblock the images from that domain.

Home Sharing - can't see library on PC from Mac

I've searched through other threads and have not found a simple explanation for this problem. I have a Windows PC (running Vista) with iTunes 11.0.2 and have a MacBook Pro with the same version of iTunes. I have setup my home sharing and am able to see my Mac library on my PC BUT can't see my PC library on my Mac. I have played with the firewall settings and tried turning the home sharing on and off on both machnes. Nothing!
Does anybody have a simple solution?

If you go to 'my computer', your ipod should be listed there (when its plugged in). If you click on it there is a path to all of the photos on your ipod. All you have to do then is copy them all and paste them in the 'my pictures' part of your computer. You can then do with them as you please. hope this was helpful

Home sharing can't see my desktop PC

I have some video files in iTunes on my desktop PC and I used to have no problems using home sharing. Recently, the home sharing connection has being going down a fair amount and now my Apple TV can't see my desktop thru home sharing. I've replaced the Apple TV but that didn't help. As a test I installed iTunes on my laptop last night and I had no issues using hom sharing on it, so it seems the problems lies with something on my desktop. I don't believe I've made any changes recently and my laptop should be conigured the same, only differernce is laptop is over WiFi and desktop is over wired ethernet connect (as is Apple TV) but that shouldn't matter.
Rather frustrating.

You would think that but there are a number of posts about pople getting MUCH better performance on WiFi that ethernet. Which is completely backwards, but it is happening for some people after the last two updates. It is something I am seeing too. Try having ATV use WiFi.

Can't see Facebook posts

I suspect somebody dumped something on my system via a FB private message. I've run antivirus and nothing has come up.
When I open Facebook, everything is normal, except I can not see the opening text of any post in my news feed. If it is a picture, I can see it and I can see all the replies underneath, but I can only see the picture and name of the original poster and where their text should be, it is just a blank, white box..
Is the answer going to be to delete Safari and reinstall it?

Facebook for BlackBerry 10 doesn't seem to be set up to see comments posted to your comments. It's an app issue that they need to address.
But you can see comments posted to the original post.
The only work around is to go onto Facebook thru web browser for now.

Can't see Facebook contacts in Skype

I have recently connected my MSN account to my Skype ID.
After that i also have tried to connect my Facebook to Skype so i could chat with my Facebook contacts from Skype. That had worked for a week or two, but now i cant find out what the problem is, there is none people showing under Facebook contacts
Yes, I have allowed the Skype application on Facebook. I Also have try to remove this and add again.
Yes, I can see my timeline on Skype from Facebook.
But I can NOT see any persons online from Skype contacts under Facebook.

I have the same problem, I cannot connect to anyone in facebook. I keep being told to reconnect to facebook, but with no joy. What is going on as we used to be able to see and connect to them.

Need help with sharing - Can't see shared playlist

I have my songs on a Windows 7 Pro 64 bit computer. I turned on home sharing and selected a playlist to be shared. I'm trying access the shared content on a Windows XP and a Vista machine, but I cannot see the shared playlist. The Vista machine can see the shared content from the XP machine though. For a brief moment, I saw the shared playlist on the Vista machine, but when I clicked on it, there was nothing there. Then it disappeared. All 3 computers have been on for hours with iTunes running. I'm wondering if it has anything to do with Windows 7. Maybe there's some network setting I need to change. I can access files on my Windows 7 machine from the XP machine. Same with the Vista machine. So the home network seems to be working fine. Thanks in advance.

I've narrowed it down to Windows 7's firewall. When I disable the firewall on my Windows 7 machine, I can access the shared content. When I enable the firewall, sharing immediately stops working. I checked to confirm that iTunes is on the allowed list of Windows Firewall.

Snow Leopard 10.6.8 - Personal Web Sharing can't see it?

I am trying to set up the equivalent of a windows localhost:// on my MAC PRO for web site testing.
I have turned on "Web Sharing" and can see both my "personal" and "computer" web addresses. They appear to be working. However when I click to my .asp files in the browser I am just shown asp code.
Questions
Do I need to do something else to make .asp files work properly? They did work just fine in windows.
Is there a way to keep my personal web site turned on for testing but turn off my "computers website"?
I have turned on the firewall for safety, should I turn on the encryption for my files?
Is there anything else I should do to keep from being hacked, any suggestions?

Are you opening Safari directly from /Applications rather than using a Dock shortcut ?.
If the one in /Applications won't work either - what happens exactly... if there's a crash report, please post it here.
Also, check Software Update, and/or manually install Safari 5.1.9 for Snow Leopard

If I sent a picture through Facebook messenger app on the and received one back from an iPhone, can a computer that is using the same wifi network as me see the pictures sent?

You mean, someone hacking in to your Facebook account? or your wireless? Please be more specific with your question.

File sharing - can't see a Mac that's asleep

Trying to setup file sharing between my Mac (PBook G4) and a team member's Mac. Problem: I can't access the other Mac through the Network or Go menu (using IP number) when the other Mac is asleep. I have to go over to the other machine, wake it (just moving the mouse is sufficient), then return to my Mac. Not convenient, especially when working from home.
I tried assigning a fixed IP address to each machine hoping it was a problem with network identity (we have a strange network). No luck. Any thoughts?
My Mac:
PowerBook G4, 10.4.2
Sharing settings: Personal File Sharing ON
Firewall: Off (no real reason why -- just haven't turned it on yet)
Other Mac:
G4, 10.3.9
Sharing: Personal File Sharing, Windows Sharing, FTP Access ON
Firewall: ON (PFS and Windows checked to allow them through)
PS - Eventually want to use SharePoints to establish OS9-like sharing rights.

Putting the hard drive to sleep is an additional option in the energy saver system preference. Unlike display or system sleep, there is no time-to-sleep slider for this; it is an on or off checkbox at the bottom of the pane. When checked, the hard drive will spin down if it hasn't been accessed for a while, even if the system is awake. When the system next needs to access the drive, there is a delay while the drive spins up, but it does not otherwise have any effect on the system's sleep or wake state.
If your software claims it can wake the Mac, it is referring to waking the system. If it doesn't do that, you should contact its maker for assistance with the appropriate settings, for upgrades that might be needed for Tiger, etc.

Can't See Facebook "Log In" Button

When using Safri to access Facebook there is not "Log In" button displayed and therefore I can't log in. When I use Chrome everything is normal. I have cleared my cache and rebooted but nothing seems to help. Any thoughts?

Have you tested with safari - Preferences - Extensions set to Off ?

Home Sharing: Can't see anyone's iTunes

My iTunes is detectable on other computers but mine won't detect anyone's. We are on same network. I have closed and opened iTunes, I have tried different homesharing accounts. Fixed firewall stuff and network stuff. My brother and I both have HP computers and mine shows up on his iTunes but I am having no luck.

Can't see shared photo streams in Aperture

I have created a number of photo streams and shared them with my wife.
My wife has accepted the streams and can see them on her iPhone.
She uses Aperture on the Mac but cannot see the streams there.
She has the three checkboxes on the photo streams tab checked, and her own photo stream is visible.
Under the web section in the Aperture library browser, photo stream doesn't appear - her Facebook entry shows up, but not photo stream.
Photo stream shows in the recent section of the library browser, but that is just the photos in my wife's own photo stream, you don't see the individual streams that I can see under photo stream under web in my Aperture view.
My wife has photo stream checked in settings -> iCloud on her Mac.
Any suggestions?

I attach four screenshots Yann - one is the project hierarchy - where you'll see PhotoStream appearing in Recent items, but not under the Web section (where you do see Facebook) and the other the preferences pane for PhotoStream in Aperture showing all three boxes checked.
Attachments one and two are from my wife's computer - where she's not seeing shared PhotoStreams.
Attachments three and four are from my computer - we I do see them.
What I notice when I compare these side by side is that there is a difference in the setting panel for photo stream between the two. Mine has a fourth option for shared photo streams - my wife's doesn't.
Yet both s/w versions for Aperture are 3.4.5. There is a difference in what is listed in the Aperture version after the version number, but both computers are fully up to date with no further updates available. (Final two images first my wife's then my s/w version)
Is your view/settings any different?
