Hi Praveen,
Thanks for your prompt reply.
I ended up using colors in the rows to distinguish between Open and Close.

Hello,
In a BW query, I need to add a column of text comments (for example, the description of a calculation, the unit used, ...). These texts are static, the queries will only be used as static reports (download scheduler), in excel and web, so we can not use any VB script.
Is it a way to add some text in a cell of a column, as in the following example (columns 2 and 3) ?
KF1 | Comment for KF1 | Euros | 12
KF2 | Comment for KF2 | % | 47
Thanks in advance

I brought in a slideshow but photos didn't include comments. How do I get my comments?
First make sure you've added the comments you want to show in the Add a Description field in iPhoto or in the Title field. If you put them in the Title field and you envoke the feature in iDVD you won't have to delete the title from each slide to give you just the desciption. Or batch remove the Titles from all the photos before you add them to the iDVD project. You can allways get them back with the Photos ➙ Batfch Change menu option later on.
Click on the cog wheel menu button at the bottom and select Show titles and comments checkbox.

Add comment with special character on column
Hi everyone,
I am currently in a database project, and needs to insert comment into the table's columns by using the syntax e.g. comment on column TEST_INT.MY_INTEGER is 'within comment'.
The question is: there is no way to add special characters into the comment. Please do help!
Thanks in advance!user646405 wrote:
I mean mainly the quotation mark like ', but I can not insert itIn which case, you simply need to put two single quotes and that tells Oracle not to consider them as the end-of-string character, but as an apostrophe. -
Including "Comments" from Iphoto to iDVD
I am trying to include Comments from Iphoto to iDVD and could use any suggestion on how to do this? I just want to be able to see the copy we have worked so hard to type in next to each photo.
Export the slideshow to QT and then add the QT movie file to an iDVD slideshow. This will scale the movie file to the TV safe area like it does with still photos avoiding the approx. 10% image loss due to TV overscan on older TV set.
Another slideshow application to consider is PhotoPresenter which offers over 25 animated themes, some of which are demostrated here.

Invalid column name in query string - using Format function
In my post just before this one the problem was solved for writing a query string using a date range. The rest of the query string includes the same date field (Call_Date) but formatted as 'MMM-YY'. I get an invalid column name error when I add this field to the query string. Here is the rest of the query string:
strSql = "SELECT Format(CALL_DATE,'mmm-yy'), " _
& "HOME_REGION FROM CCC2.CASE_EPRP " _
& "WHERE (HOME_REGION = 'NCR') AND " _
"(CALL_DATE >= to_date( '1/1/2002', 'MM/DD/YYYY' )" _
& "AND CALL_DATE <= to_date( '2/28/2003', 'MM/DD/YYYY' ))"
In the Access Query tool I can include this field
Format(CALL_DATE,'mmm-yy')
and the query runs fine (I just need to make it dynamic using ADO). But in my ADO query string above, I get the invalid column name error. Is there a way I can include
Format(CALL_DATE,'mmm-yy')
in my ADO query string? I appologize for not being more familiar with Oracle Sql. Any help greatly appreciated.
Thanks again,
RichThank you very much for your reply. I think I'm getting closer to the solution. Just I got an error message
"date format not recognized"
when I add "to_char( call_date, 'mmm-yy' )" to the query string. I tried using all uppercase, but that did not make a difference. Do I need to use to_date inside the to_char maybe?
to_char(to_date(call_date, 'mmm/yy'), 'mmm-yy')
Thanks again for your help.

Hi
I want to add a column in my query.
This column is the sum of the net value and the tax ..please how can I do this without refering to ABAP development..
thanks in advanceThis is not an SD question and you might want to use Search (and include other forums) in the future.
There is no ABAP needed for such basic calculations in queries. In SQ01, this can be done in the 'Select field' screen (it's the 3rd screen where you select which fields will be included in the query.
First, assign short names to your Net Value and Tax fields. Go to the menu Edit -> Short Names -> Turn On/off. This should open another column to the right from the field names. Enter the names, say NET and TAX.
Then create a new local field. Same menu, Edit -> Local field -> Create. Give the field some name (TOTAL), assign a type ('Same field as -> use Net field or whatever is suitable). Enter formula NET + TAX and save. -
Adding columns to content query
I have created a Content Query that retrieves all of my tasks from my site collection that meets my filter criteria. However, The Item Views are incredibly limited
(basically just the title). I want to add ~5-7 additional columns to the query, such as due date. I understand I may have to do this through SharePoint designer. Please advise and if coding is required, please let me know what code to use.Hi,
I understand that you want to add columns to content query web part.
To include additional columns in the Web Part's query, we need to perform some minor customization in the .webpart file. We should programmatically instruct the Web Part to rename columns to names the default XSLT transformation expects, and then render
the columns by using the default XSLT transformation styles. For more information:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms497457(v=office.14).aspx
But the default XSLT transformations can render the following four fields:
Title, Description, LinkUrl, and ImageUrl, we can add a column and display it as the
Description field in the Web Part. If we want the other columns to appear in addition to the KB title and product, modify the XSLT transformation and add the rendering for the additional columns.

Multiple Key figure in a single column of a query
Hi,
Is it possible to use muliple key figure like Amount and Qty field together in a column of a query?
Please advise,
Best Regards,
URHi,
You will be able to do it with the help of cell definitions.
Say,you have a structure in Rows :
A
B
For A ..in corresponding column cell,use cell definition with KF1
For B.....in corresponding column cell,use cell definition with KF2
this way,you will be able to see both in one column
I m not sure how much it is relavant to your requirement.But this is one way of gettin it -

hier.tech_idHi
"no information" in database is usually NULL value. Is this what you are looking for?
SELECT
hier.dir_name
,hier.am_name
,NULL as fm_name
--,hier.fm_name INSERT BLANK COLUMN HERE
,hier.tech_name
hier.tech_id

Access Summary column in a query
Hi All,
I am new to oracle reports. I am using report builder 10.1.2.0.2.
I have a summary column in my report. I would like to use this summary column in another query.
if is use this column directly in the query, i am getting the below error:
"Field 'F1' references column '<summary column name>' at a frequency below its group. "
Both these fields are in the same frame. In the object navigator, both are displayed under the same group name.
please let me know if there any way to access summary columns in another query.
Thanks.You can use a field from one query in another query as parameter, i.e. preceded by colon. To do this first create link of "Group to Query" type between the first query's group where the summary column is, and the second query.

Set Column width in query (not using SQL*Plus)
How can I Set Column width in query
I understand you can set column width using
column col1 FORMAT A5
select col1 from table1;But this only works in SQL*Plus
I want to be able to do this in a regular SQL query window (not in SQL*Plus), how can I do it.....
I am using a 'SQL window' in PL/SQL Developer IDE
and when I use this syntax it says:
ORA-00900: Invalid SQL statement
Any suggestions are appreciated...
thanks,
M.Did you try using RPAD or LPAD functions? They fill the unfilled part of a string with character you provide... either on right or left side depending on what function you use.
e.g.
SELECT RPAD('Smith', 10, ' ') Name FROM dual;http://www.adp-gmbh.ch/ora/sql/rpad.html

Multiple columns from a query sorted vertically
Is it possible to sort a query resultset vertically, with
multiple columns across the page, in the following manner, with
page breaks after 40 rows? I can get it to sort horizontally just
fine with tables, but how can it be done vertically as shown?
JONES, Abby JONES, Betty JONES, Dawn JONES, Frank
JONES, Adam JONES, Bill JONES, Debbie JONES, Gayle
JONES, Alice JONES, Bob JONES, Denton JONES, Henry
JONES, Ben JONES, Cathy JONES, Emma JONES, JohnThis will get you started. I assume you had the appropriate
order by clause in your query. I also assume you want 4 columns per
line.
My approach would be to convert the query to an array and
then output the array.
columns = 4;
maxrows = 40;
recordsperpage = columns * rows;
records = query.recordcount;
myArray = ArrayNew(2);
ThisColumn = 1;
ThisRow = 1;
if (records gt recordsperpage)
LoopTill = recordsperpage;
else
LoopTill = records;
for ( ii = 1; ii lte LoopTill; ii = ii + 1){
myArray[ThisRow][ThisColumn] = query.field[ii];
increment ThisRow;
if (ThisRow = MaxRows + 1) {
ThisRow = 1;
increment ThisColumn;
} // if
} // looop
You can do the rest -
