Including code in a include statement

How come this piece of code isn't valid? <jsp:include page="<%=request.getContextPath() %>/include/subnav.jsp" /> And what are the alternatives? I want the include path to be generated based on the contextPath variable.

jsp:include works with RequestDispatcher (internally), it doesn't require 'context path'.
solution:
<jsp:include page="/include/subnav.jsp" />

    Hi, Grapat, and welcome to the Community,
    Unfortunately, Skype Numbers are not available for all exchanges, area codes, or even all states in the USA and all countries.  We need to choose a Skype Number based upon what is listed at the time we are searching, or check back regularly to see if a particular exchange has been added to the list.

  • If I want to order by dateAdded to I have to include it in the select statement like

    If I do this:
    <cfquery name="chart" datasource="#datasource#">
    select behaviourID,score, dateAdded2 = convert(varchar,
    dateAdded , 101)
    from staff_charts_data
    where userID =
    <cfqueryparam value="#arguments.userID#"
    cfsqltype="cf_sql_integer"> AND
    NOT score = 5
    </cfquery>
    If I want to order by dateAdded to I have to include it in
    the select statement like so:
    <cfquery name="chart" datasource="#datasource#">
    select behaviourID,score, dateAdded2 = convert(varchar,
    dateAdded , 101),dateAdded
    from staff_charts_data
    where userID =
    <cfqueryparam value="#arguments.userID#"
    cfsqltype="cf_sql_integer"> AND
    NOT score = 5
    </cfquery>

    you should be able to order by dateAdded without it being in
    the select clause. The only time the order by field has to be in
    the select clause is when your query has an aggregate and group by
    clause, like this:
    select field1, field2, max(field3) as youralias
    from sometables
    where whatever
    group by field1, field2
    order by ???
    You can only order field1, field2, max(field3) or youralias.
    You can't order by field4.

  • Extend ABC Code clasification to include code = "D" MRP1 field -  tx MM01

    Hi All
    I need to extend ABC Code clasification to include code = "D"  in MRP1 - ABC Indicator field in TX MM01, can someboby tell me how pls!!
    thks in advance

    you cannot have a D for this field.
    See transaction MC40 which is used to calculate and update this field.  There is nothing to add a D in the analysis strategy section. So you would need to re-write this transaction as well if you want a D.
    Instead use the CC - Abc indicator field in storage location view. Here you can have a D.

  • Variable code in ZXRSRU01 Include

    Hi,
    I created the following code in ZXRSRU01 Include for a custom variable 'YFBV_027':
    WHEN 'YFBV_027'.
    CASE i_step.
      WHEN '2'.
          concatenate sy-datum(6) '01' into datum.
          datum(4) = datum(4) + 1.
          l_s_range-low = datum.
          l_s_range-sign = 'I'.
          l_s_range-opt  = 'EQ'.
          APPEND l_s_range TO e_t_range.
          CLEAR l_s_range.
    endcase.
    The question is: Why I cannot introduce <b>l_s_range-opt  = 'LT'</b>, but only 'EQ'?

  • How to Debug code written in Include RMCSUZ10?

    In our Sales extractor 2LIS_11_VAITM we need to get information from custom Partner Functions whichwere added by the R/3 team.
    To do this we have used the SAP provided include:RMCSUZ10
    I have changed the Structure: MCPARTNER to include new fields PKUYZ, PKUYX, PNA1YZ.
    The Code in the include is as follows:
    WHEN 'YZ' .
        MOVE UPE_VBPA-ADRNR TO UPE_PARTNER-PKUYZ.
        MOVE UPE_VBPA-NAME1 TO UPE_PARTNER-PNA1YZ.
        WHEN 'YX' .
        MOVE UPE_VBPA-ADRNR TO UPE_PARTNER-PKUYX.
        MOVE UPE_VBPA-NAME1 TO UPE_PARTNER-PNA1YZ.
    These additional fields are available in the LO Pool now and I have pulled them into the extractor.
    Strangely though, this code only works in the Delta extraction mode. If we do a setup in R3 and pull the data, the fields remain blank. Does anyone have a similar experience with using this exit?
    Also I am able to debug this code only while doing setup in R3.
    Is there any other way to debug this code and how can we make it work in Full mode too?
    Thanks in advance.
    AG

    Hi AG.
    Regarding the debugging, you could do it the hard and dirty way and write an endless loop at the beginning of your logic and then enter debug mode from the process monitor (in development only of course and remember to delete it again!).

  • To include or not to include whole package ?

    Hi,
    I have created three classes for an applet called ChartingApplet in VisualAge IDE. I utilised an opensource charting package, but only using approx. 15 classes from that com.chartingpackage.classes .. package (perhaps 80k out of total 500k). Now I could put that package from which I got those 15 classes in a JAR to be downloaded by the browser but that is a hefty download !! I don't want to have to waste bandwidth and download time for people viewing my applet by making them download the entire 500k of the opensource com.chartingpackage.classes package.
    Is the normal method of dealing with this situation to pick those select 15 class files out of the com.charting... package (possible with IBM VisualAge) and put them inside my jar archive for my ChartingApplet?
    I just can't believe that there isn't a better way of doing this; I had to spend some time going through the Javadoc for the few classes I need making sure that I did not miss any out of my JAR file. I mean to hand pick 15 classes out of 700 or more (in the packages I utilised) is not so bad but that is not such an extensible technique ... what if I had to hand pick 155 classes from 2000? Please tell me there is a better way of doing this?
    Or is it the case that those 15 classes are automatically compiled and included WITH my code from the import statements I make in those three .java files which I crafted. I am a little confused because in C++ when you make an executable file ALL of the code from the library files that YOUR classes need are included (or 'linked' to use the official jargon) with your own classes when they are compiled. Now I just want to check ... this is NOT the same for Java is it ?
    What should I do here? Surely I don't have to include the entire wapping great 500K (700 classes) just for the sake of 15 or so classes I used.
    Please help. Thanks.

    Can noone explain what the standard way around this is when using internet deployed applet and JAR file utilising 3rd party classes?
    Please help ..... someone must have come up against this problem and solved it before. I can't believe that I'm having to ask this in a forum ... I mean the answer should be on the rest of the site somewhere but I've not found it yet.
    Does anyone know of an OPTIMISER that will deal with redundant classes taking into account inter-class dependancies .... (JOPT does not do this) or am I missing some easier solution to this .... or are other people simply using a hand-cranking mechanism where you take classes you can obviously see you need and then continuously recompile until you have ALL the 3rd party classes required ( from unadvertised dependancies)? There must be a smarter/quicker way.
    Thanks for your help,

  • What is the difference between jsp :include and server side include

    what is the difference between jsp :include and server side include(request dispatcher include method)????
    i understand that both request dispatcher include method and jsp:include take dynamic data,so when would one use request dispatcher include and when jsp:include.
    Is the usage interchangeable?i believe jsp include is used only for jsp/html but include directive can be used to include servlets ,jsp and html....correct me if i m wrong and
    do suggest if u hav ny other diff in this context...

    The difference really is: in what format do you want your inclusions? If your environment has many Java developers and only a few designers that focus mainly on, say, Flash, that might push you more towards the server-side include() directive. Or, if you have a large set of pages that receive dynamic content that is displayed in a consistent fashion (such as a workflow header area on a page).
    If, on the other hand, you have more web designers, there may be a greater desire to deal in markup rather than Java code. Java developers themselves might prefer to view markup (JSP) that more resembles the eventual output than something occuring in Java code.
    Finally, there are considerations of tiering. While it is totally possible to (and I have previously) implement 'view classes' that render markup or generate layout templates, JSP's offer, IMO, a subtle, psychological advantage. By forcing a developer to work in a different format, markup versus Java source, the separation on view from controller and model becomes a bit easier. It is still possible to make mistakes, but if a developer at some point notices, "Wait, I'm in a JSP, should I be importing a java.sql class?", then the choice to use JSP includes has paid off in spades.

  • "include directive or jsp:include "

    Hi,
    Which amongst <%@ include file="header.jsp" %> and
    <jsp:include page="header.jsp"/>to be used, when performance is taken into account.

    Code copy from serverside.com
    Is it the same as --> jsp:include and %@ include directive.
    Actually, <jsp:include> vs. <%@ include %> is a different story.
    <%@ include %> is a "compile-time" include. The included file is inserted into the JSP when the JSP compiles.
    <jsp:include> is a "run-time" include. If JSP-1 includes JSP-2, JSP-2 is invoked when JSP-1 executes, and the output of JSP-2 is inserted into the output stream of JSP-1.
    The run-time include runs a bit slowly, but can save a lot of system memory, so in general, the run-time include is preferable. Only use the compile-time include if the include code must be in the same page.
    For example, if you want to use an include that defines a bunch of tag libraries with the taglib directive, it will have to be a compile-time include. If you just want to insert a standard header and footer in your page, a run-time include will be more effecient.
    I hope its enough for you to get an clear cut idea,

  • LabView 2010 Application Builder for EXE Always Included files are not Included

    In LabVIEW 2010 F2, When I am using the Application Builder to build an EXE file, I have listed 10 or so files to Be "Always Included". But when I Explore the directory where the EXE was built, those "Always Included" files are not there or in any subdirectory under the EXE file.
    This frequently makes my EXE file not work properly because important files are missing. I have to spend extra debugging time to find out the the cause of my problem is missing files that the Application Builder should have transferred "Always".
    Why did the Application Builder, when building an EXE target, not include the files that should be "Always Included"?
    Why does the Application Builder ignore these files specifications?

    Dennis Knutson wrote:
    The build does include files you select. Post an example project with a small VI and some separate files where this does not happen.
    No, it does not appear that all of the files that I listed in the "Always Include" list are copied during the Build process to the Build directory or any subdirectory under that.
    The Build Source Files.jpg file shows most of the list of the files that should be "Always Included". Notice the .VI and .ctl files that are listed
    The Build Directory.jpg file shows the file in the Build directory that were built.
    The Data Directory.jpg file shows the data directory under the Build directory and may include some of the files listed in the "Always Include", but not all of them.
    The other subdirectories under the Build directory were created by me and do not include any files that were copied during the Build process.
    So not ALL of the files that were included in the "Always Include" list were copied into the Build directory area as expected. ALL of the files that are listed as "Always Include" should be copied, if they exist. Those files existed when then were selected for the List and they existed at the time of the Build.
    I can not include an example project that demonstrates this. I am prevented from doing so by the terms of an NDA. You are going to have to take my word that this event is real and happens the same way every time. This information should be sufficient for someone to investigate why do not ALL of the files listed in the "Always Include" list are copied into the Build directory area regardless of the file type or contents.

    Hi,
    Pro C is not a Sun Studio product.
