Income Tax/Annual Perk Computation for rehired employee is incorrect

Hi All,
One of our employees retired on 30.9.11 was rehired on 30.11.2011 with the same employee number.  After rehiring we had delimited  IT 581 up to 30.9.11 and further a new entry was maintained from 1.12.2011. In the salary slip for Dec 11, in  the Income tax yearly computation six months Rent has been deducted from the Annual gross, which is not required.
Kindly suggest how this issue can be rectified.
Sunil

Hi All,
I raised an OSS for the issue. SAP support has provided me with a solution. The  steps are as follows:
     1. When rehiring period split for payroll accounting indicator in view V_T530_All  is to be set  for the action type and action reason which you use.
      2. Run the payroll for this person by doing force retro from 01.04.2011. With the force retro, /460(Income Tax for the month) will not change but the projection and all the other things will be changed. The pay slip will not change as pay slip checks the specified month data. But Form 16 will show the correct values (the total amount will be displayed in the Form 16).
      3. The following SAP Notes will have to applied for generating Form 16 correctly:
          1607827
          1614257
          1615579
          1679799

  • Issue in income tax computation

    Dear All,
I have some issue in income tax calculation India Payroll for few employees.
    Listed the problems below
    1. Exemption Under Section 10 is not considered during Income tax calculation
    2. Medi-claim is not deducted from gross salary

    Hi Lakshman,
Exemption under sec 10 should be considered in the tax calculation. In the Tax calculation all the amount u/s 10 will be stored in wage type /130 and it will subtracted from the Gross salary (/416).
If this is not happening then please check the configuration of the wage type which you are using.
Normally Medical exemption will be processed before the arrival of gross salary.
    Hope this will help you.
    Thanks & Regards

  • Income Tax Exemption on Professional Tax Deducted for Tamilnadu Employees

    Hi Experts,
I am working on India Payroll and configured Professional Tax for Tamilnadu employees. Professional Tax is deducted correctly for the employee in the month of August and then in month of January.
However while calcuating income tax exemption system is considering only amount deducted in the month of August for the exemption upto December month and in the month of January its cosidering PTax deducted in the month of August and January both. In case of Maharashtra employees form first month its considering annual projected Professional Tax amount for Exemption.
Can anyone guide me what changes i have to do for considering projected PTax amount for exemption in case of Tamilnadu employees.
    Thanks in advance.
    OMKAR

As per standrad the for chennai professional tax is projected for every six months right
so it is takeing like that  say the entire amount will be upto to Projection period so it is takeing for that period
We have similar issue at one of the client place that is instead of deducting the PTAX for every six months it has to be deducted
for mothly so we have changed the frequnecy of deduction from six months to monthly so than it has shown the entire project amout yearly
and  lets wait for the expert views on this

  • Income tax - wrong computation in /460

    Dear Seniors,
While processing the march-2015 payroll, I found wrong income tax computation for few employees in form 16. system is working fine for rest employees, as per my understanding it may be due to master data issue. I have checked the thing again and again but not able to resolve.

  • Income tax computations

    Dear Gurus,
Last month (June) we have deducted the Income tax through MVT1 wagetype for all the employees .As the master data has been changed for the previous month , so when i executed this month payroll with standard INTAX, system is triggering the retro. In case of retro system is genrating only /460 not /4MT
When i posting the results, system is showing that posting balance is not cleared for the month of june.

    Hi Jeet,
Please provide the format to the abaper who can create the same in smart form and then assign this to a communication type.
    Regards.

  • Income Tax Calculation problem: Urgent Help Needed

    Dear Gurus,
I am facing a unique problem. Our client has two incentives –
    1) Product Incentive
    2) Sales Incentive
Every month incentive figures get changed. These two are Monthly Regular Income (Cumulations Class 24) i.e. included in annual tax calculation.
Now for tax calculation, my client wants "Actual Earning" and "Estimated Earning for the rest of the year" to be different. But Income tax calculation in SAP (for the month of April 2007) takes Actual Earning and multiplied it by 12( i.e. 11+1) to calculate Estimated Earning. But my client wants this Estimated Earning to be different.
Now please let me know is this possible in SAP system and how to calculate this?
Your help will be highly appreciated
    Waiting for an early reply.
    Thanking You,
    With Best Regards,
    Pratik

  • Income Tax Problem

For One of the employee we forget to maintain the PAN number and ran the live payroll,Due to some resons we paid salarys manually with income tax is zero (ie out of sap). Now we ran the all 4 months live payroll in sap system it shows calculation the income tax 4,000 for july month and remaining 3 months we maintained volantary income tax zero
Now we want to make that 1 month Income Tax 4,000 become Zero(because as we paid that manually as zero) so what to do please guide me?

    Hi,
As you aware If PAN number not updated straight away System needs to deduct 20% of Incometax of Total Income even employee not comes under any slab..
How your suggested wrong practice against legal procedings. If it is noticed to IT Dept You will not suffer, Your client will suffer my dear.
Second you told due to some reasons salaries paid out of SAP.. Then why your not suggest as Advance salary which is  paid  Out of SAP. After that you can deduct from Employee salary when live run processing. SAP provided Volutary Income tax wage type using for such conditions. We are all suggesting these scenarios without knowing Incometax rules which is integrated with SAP
Anyway better Enhence rule "INVT" for future issues.

  • Best practice to deal with computer or departed employee

    Dear All,
I would like to inquire about the best practice to deal with computer and computer account of a departed employee. should be disabled, reset, deleted, or just kept as it is until it is needed by another user?
    Regards
    hiam
    Hiam

Ultimately your needs for their identities and equipment after they leave are what dictate how you should design this policy.
First off, I recommend disabling the account immediatly following the employee's departure. This prevents the user from using their credentials to log on again. Personally I have a "Disabled Users" OU in Active Directory. When I disable accounts
I move them here for easy future retrieval.
It is possible the user may return, or if they have access to certain systems you may need the account again. I would keep the accounts for a specific amount of time (e.g. 6 months, but this depends on your needs) and then delete them after this period of
    time.
If the employee knows the passwords to any shared accounts (not a good idea though many organizations have these) or has accounts in other systems that do not use Active Directory authentication, immediately change the passwords to these accounts again following
    the employee's departure.
If the employee had administrative access to their computer (not a good idea, though is the reality in most cases) you should disable the computer account and remove it from the network. This will prevent the employee from remotely accessing the machine
until you are able to rebuild or inspect it for unapproved changes.
Ask the user's manager, team members, and subordinates if there are any files that the employee would have stored on their computer. Back these up as necessary.
Most likely you will reuse the computer for another employee. For best results you should use an image so you can re-image their machine and not have to worry whether they had installed any unwanted software (backdoors, viruses, illegal software, etc).
    Hope this helps.

  • SAP Corporate Income Tax Functionality

Hello. This may be a stupid question, but we are wondering what other SAP customers do for Corporate Income Tax requirements in SAP, for actual and for planning. Seems like our Tax team basically does everything off-line. I know there are SAP partner-companies out there like Vertex that offer bolt-on packages for Sales Taxes, but is there any SAP delivered functionality or bolt-on functionality for Corporate Income Taxes??
    Thanks for your responses.
    Gary Parsons.

    Hi Gary,
What is the country you are referring to?
SAP does have standard tax procedures established for different countries. For example CIN version is used for Purchase & Sales Tax for Country India. SAP has one for USA. However it is based on Actuals only.
When you say "is there any SAP delivered functionality or bolt-on functionality for Corporate Income Taxes" I believe you are referring to online tax information about a particular company. Based on this I think there is no such functionality in SAP. However you can get this information by configuring your systems accordingly and passing manual entries to give you this figure.
    Hope this helps......
    Thank You.

  • Salary & Income Tax Projection for Retiring Employees

    Hi Friends,
We have a case where an employee is retiring on 14.08.2014 (which is his birthday also i.e. P0002-GBDATE = 14.08.1954).
When we executed payroll for this employee in the month of July 2014, the system deducted income tax as per the slabs for a senior citizen (as Union Budget 2013-14, current year budget changes have not been incorporated).
The company wants the employee to be considered as a 'normal citizen/person' and not as a 'senior citizen' until his date of retirement or during the tenure of his employment.
What can be done to resolve this issue?
    We are using
Actual Basis for Projection of Salary and Income Tax
Date Type 'N0' in IT0041 (Date Specifications)
    Please suggest something.
    Regards,
    Kumar

I have personally checked this,  as facing the same problem. AND THIS IS WORKING,  THANKS FOR THE INFORMATION.
HOWEVER THERE IS ANOTHER SOLUTION ALSO.
One can create an retirement action,  which has to be executed for all the employees going to retire during the year.
system will calculate the gross and project the tax only upto the retirement date.
if exttn is required you can also config the retirement-exten action in case of extension is carried out.
Rather than touching the standard scheme this is the best way I know?  you can also fetch the reports in the future with the help of standard reports.
However, if anyone is having any PCR idea, that is also welcome.  Do give me a helping hand by share the same.

  • Income Tax deducted for withdrawn employee

    Hi Experts
In my Client One employee is withdrawn on 31.04.2011n he got final settelement in that month,But in the june payroll for that employee income tax deducted,we have cheked all his prevoius payroll cluster but not able to get the solution. Can anyone tell why this happend
    regards
    Aakash

    Aakash,
Once employee moves to employement status zero, payroll will only be executed if there is some master data change. Without that it is not possible. So just check if system ws triggering some retro for this test case. Also you can check IT0003 'Earliest MD change' for the reason. Alongwith it even if the user has deleted the record, you can still do the simulation run and check the results for the employee. from result you can easily track if there was any chnage.

  • Income Tax Projection for Retiring Employees

    Hi Folks,
One of our Employee is getting retired in the month of August, As per SAP,In April-2009 his IT projection happens for the entire financial Year April to March 2010.
That is his IT projection for APril to March is 5Lakhs, but his actual earnings from April to date of Separation (till august) is 3.5 Lakhs, because of this his Tax liablity from APril to July goes high and in the month of August there is a refund.
Now for retiring Employees how can we make the IT projection happen only till the month of Retirement.  Is their any standard process available or through custom development.
    Experts Plz advice.

  • Income Tax not Calculated for one employee.

    Hi experts,
we have updated our patch lvl upto 86. Budget Changes Note is applied already. Now the Problem is with one employee.
Out of 1000 employees for one employee /436, /446 and /450 generated correctly with correct figure. But /460 is not generated.
I can see in the log /451 is generated with the amount exactly as /450.
Why system is not generating /460?
    Can anyone guide me?
    Regards
    Nasim

Well the reaults are surprising as cross financial arrear /616 is only 1385.96 and relief generated by this is 18776. Which is simply not possible. Even in FY 2010-2011 relief should not be generated as relief only comes when employee is end up paying more taxes than last year tax on arrears. Now since tax slabs are increased, relief will not be egenrated.
This issue you can check with OSS message.
IF you want to deactivate the Section 89 relief implementation switch S89SW constant as 0 in table V_T511K. It may also activated on employee level, then you need to check IT0588/ subtype 4. Before deactivating it check out the impact after deactivation in case of retro as i may increase/ decrease the past tax.
Please note that implementation level switch supposed to be activated/ deactivated only once in lifetime of SAP system.

  • Income tax issue for mid month joinees

    Issue 2:
For New (mid month) joinee at the first month gross salary is calculated based on the earned salary amount *12 months (or no. of remaining months for financial yr end), but in my client income tax deducted based on the actual salary (not earned salary) from the first month onwards.
    For example :
    Employee X,
    Joined date 15.08.2011,
Actual salary = 1,00,000 INR.  Earned salary for 15 days = 50,000 INR.
While Start Payroll for the period 5th (August) 2011. The WT /416 Gross salary = 4,00,000 (50000*8). Based on this gross salary income tax calculated, But I want to calculated the gross at first month (august 2011) based on follows,
Gross salary : August month earned salary = 50,000 + Actual salary per month =1,00,000*7 =7,00,000.
    Gross salary = 7,50,000 INR.

    Hi Param Dayal,
    New issues rise Now....
For New (mid month) joinee at the first month Exemption U/S 10 is calculated based on the Conveyance Allowance amount *12 months (or no. of remaining months for financial yr end), but in my client income tax Exemption U/S 10 based on the actual salary (not earned salary) from the first month onwards.
    For example :
    Employee X,

Conveyance Allowance = 800 INR. Earned Conveyance Allowance for 15 days = 400 INR.
While Start Payroll for the period 5th (August) 2011. The WT /130 Exemption U/S 10 = 3,200 (400*8). Based on this Conveyance Allowance The Exemption U/S 10 calculated, But I want to calculated the Exemption U/S 10 at first month (august 2011) based on follows,
August month earned Conveyance Allowance = 400 INR + Actual Conveyance Allowance per month =800*7 =5,600.
    Exemption U/S 10 = 6,000 INR.
    Please give me some solution
