Increase the data access time in custom development scenarios, layouts etc.

Hello All,
We have developed some custom scenario come interface for our Man-hours planning and actual posting. We have also included some validation in them from time to time. Now, it has started taking much processing time during data entry as well as during data saving.
Kindly suggest how can we reduce this time consumption.
Thanks & Regards
Saurabh

Hi Suarabh,
If I am not wrong you need to increase performance.
Use the basis abap standard best practices to acheive this.

  • Reg Increasing the EJB Response Time

We are facing below performance problems in our application,
    1. Response time from EJB (Stateless Session Bean) to Client (Swing).
    2. Time taken for looping through the Result Set.
For 5000 records, our query is taking 0.2 Secs but looping through the ResultSet is taking around 16 seconds and Response time for transferring 160 kb (object data) from EJB to Client is taking around 30 Secs.
We have achieved some improvement in ResultSet looping time by setting the setFetchSize of ResultSet to 250.
    Can anyone suggest?
    1. Is there any way to increase the Data Transfer time (Response time) from EJB to Client?
    2. What is the ideal value for setting the value for ResultSet.setFetchSize() ( No of records we fetch vary from 1 3,00,000 records)

    1. Response time from EJB (Stateless Session Bean) to
Client (Swing). Consider non-EJB options. They might prove efficient in your case.
    2. Time taken for looping through the Result Set. Try and design your code as to not require all the records at a time.

  • Any one know how to use "custom" option present under the data access tab in XLS file format of Data Services

    Hi Experts,
Any one know how to use or what is the purpose of "custom" option present under the data access tab in Excel workbook file format of Data Services

Rajesh, what is the Custom Protocol you are trying to use? It should be  something like PSFTP, etc.,

  • The Date Accessed attribute is resetting to all the files in a folder

    Hi all,
I have an issue that the "Date Accessed" attribute is often resetting to all the files in a folder if i open single file as this folder is from File server mapped as Drive to me. This is happening to all the users whoever connect to that fileserver
and i see same issue from RDP as well. is there any option to check which is resetting the "Date Accessed" attribute to all the files. The Date Access attribute is simillar to Date accessed and Date modified. We need to fix this issue as it is related
to security concern for us. The file server is windows 2008 R2 and the client machines are windows 7.
Side note: I can see that there is no software, antivirus, offline sycn is causing this issue.
    Thank you,
    Sampath

    Hi,
It seems that some specific process accessed the files and updated the attribute. You could configure auditing on the shared folder. Then you can go through the auditing log to check which process is doing the read operation on all these files.

  • How to find the Date and Time of Modification of Column in aTable?

    Hi all,
Do  you know how to find the Date and Time of Addition of Column to a Particular Table?.
I know however, How to find the modification time of the Table. Using the below Query :
    Select Object_Name, to_Char(Last_DDL_TIME, 'DD-Mon-YYYY HH24:MI:SS') Last_DDL from User_Objects where Object_Type = 'TABLE';
    Object_Name
    Last_DDL
    Employee
    20-Aug-2013 09:23:03
I wanted to know the Creation or Modification Date and Timestamp of all columns of Employee Table?. Is it possible at all. If possible, How to get it?.
    Regards,
    Bhaskar M

I agree with you on that. Since its a development enviornment I can remove the column but that not my point here.
My whole purpose it to know whether we get the Column's Creation or Modification DateTime.

  • My laptop died last night and the date and time was set for 1/1/2000. I went to change the date and time and cannot. For some reason when i pull up system preferences it will not load date and time but will load other stuff. Please help.

Last night my laptop died and the time and date was reset. I cannot acess date and time preferences to change it and my laptop is acting really weird. My CD drive is broken so there are no options to put in a cd. Please someone help i need my laptop for school and cannot afford another.

Many system actions will misbehave, given an inaccurate date. Resetting the NVRAM and / or SMC will not fix it, and if the system has a preposterous date you may not be able to open System Preferences to correct it. This dilemma may or may not be addressed in a future OS X update.
If you cannot open System Preferences you can reset your system date and time using Terminal.
Please read everything that follows before proceeding. Write them down if necessary because the effects of setting a preposterous system date are unpredictable.
Quit System Preferences, force quit if necessary: OS X: How to quit an unresponsive application using Force Quit
Open Terminal - it is in your Utilities folder and looks like this
You can find Terminal by using the Finder's Go menu and choosing Utilities, then double-click the Terminal icon.
At the prompt, you will be typing a command resembling the following:
    sudo date mmddhhnnyyyy
... but you must substitute the actual date and time in the command that corresponds to the date format used for your location. In other words if your custom is to use a date like 8 February 2014 then reverse the mm and dd values.
Substitute numerals in the above command according to the following:
    mm = month
    dd = date
hh = hour (24 hour format)
nn = minutes past the hour
    yyyy = year
Each of those values must be two digits except for the year which can be two or four digits. As an example if the current date and time is February 8, 2014 at 9 PM your command will be the following:
    sudo date 020821002014
    or
    sudo date 0208210014
Either one will work. If you enter nonsensical values the system will attempt to parse the entry correctly.
To recover from your inability to use System Preferences to set the date and time, the value entered does not have to be precise, it just has to be approximate.
Enter that command using the actual time and date for your location and in the appropriate format, then press the Return key. Terminal will ask for your Admin Password - the same one you use when you log in to your Mac. Type it and then press the Return key. What you type will not appear, not even with •••• characters.
To determine if your change was effective just type the date command and press the Return key. Terminal will reply with the date and time. If it appears correct and in the correct format, you should be able to open System Preferences > Date & Time once again. Selecting the "Set time and date automatically" and choosing an appropriate time server will adjust your Mac's system clock to the precise time.

  • SCOM 2012 Issue The Data Access service is either not running or not yet initialized

    Hello All,

Making sure you don't miss any messages is very important and we would be happy to go over your options today. Are you using the Visual voicemail or do you call *86 to access your voicemails?

  • Reseting the date and time on photosmart 5510

Having replaced the internal battery, the date and time on scanned items to memory card is giving 1st january 2001.how can i reset this.

    Hey @dube55,
I am aware that your Photosmart model does not have a fax. Because I do not have a Photosmart 5510 here and have no access to the Embedded Web Server I gave you the generic tab options. My apologies for the confusion.
The Date and Time option under the Embedded Web Server for your printer should be located under Settings or Tools. It may be under a sub-menu on the left hand side, such as System or Preferences. Feel free to click on the options to explore what you are able to alter on your machine.
If you still do not see a Date and Time option we will need to run a Power Reset on the printer. Doing so should prompt you to enter the date and time when reconfiguring your printer. If this fails, we may need to run a Factory Restore.
How to Perform a Hard Reset:
    Turn your printer ON
With the printer ON disconnect the power cable from the rear of the printer for 30 seconds
Plug the power cable back in
The printer should start back up on its own
Once the printer returns to the ready state, try another scan to verify if the time and date stamp is correct
Should the issue persist, please proceed with the reset below.
    How to Restore Factory Defaults:
    Turn your printer ON
Touch the right arrow button until you see Setup (wrench)
    Touch the Setup button
    Select Tools
    Select Restore Factory Defaults
    Choose Yes
Once the Restore is complete your printer should start back up and may prompt you to enter the date and time.
Please let me know if these steps work for you. Best of luck!

  • Set the date and time

how to set the date and time in apple tv?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Assuming this is not the first time you have used your Apple TV
You might try restarting the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.
Also try restarting the router. (Also try removing it’s power cord for at least 30 seconds)
If the problem persists, try a restore, you may want to try the previous procedures several times before doing this.
If restoring from the Apple TV doesn't help, try restoring from iTunes using a USB cable.
If this is a new Apple TV, in addition to trying the above, it may also be that your network router is not allowing access to the timeserver, check that your router allows access over port 123.

  • The date and time?

My brother likes to turn his HP laptop off when not in use, tried everything to get online, and was showing "IE could not display this page", and The certificates you need are out dated. Called M 800 line, no help, they said they would call back,
three days past now...called Comcast, they could not help, gave me new modem and new phone number, six (6) days later still no internet. So was lookinf at desktop, and noticed the date seemed just a bit off...""Friday October 31, 2010"...opps,
off there by four years...changed the date and time to present, IE and access all returned. I would like to hi-5 the prankster since it was Holloween, but really want to know how this really happened...any ideas???

    Hi, paulmont -
Be sure the Time Zone setting is correct.
If you have time displayed as 12-hour (rather than 24-hour), be sure the AM/PM setting is correct. Having that wrong will displace the mod/create date/time recorded for a file by 12 hours, which will (at times) shift it to another day.
If you use Classic, make sure the same settings are in Classic as well as in OSX, particularly the Time Zone setting. This is especially true for machines which can be and are booted into OS 9. The typical symptom for this being the cause is an offset of one or a few hours.

can you please check the following -
    1) SQL services are running.
    2) Data access service is running. you can try restarting the service too.
    3) check that the OpsMgr database is not full.
    4) start the 'SQL Vss writer" service.
    5) check the sql server error logs.
    6) Check your SQL accounts too.
    7) Try this too -
To create this registry entry, follow these steps:
Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click
    OK.
Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control
Right-click Control, point to New, and then click
    DWORD Value.
In the New Value #1 box, type ServicesPipeTimeout, and then press ENTER.
Right-click ServicesPipeTimeout, and then click Modify.
Click Decimal, type the number of milliseconds that you want to  wait until the service times out, and then click
    OK.
For example, to wait 60 seconds before the service times out, type 60000.
Quit Registry Editor, and then restart the computer.

  • Unable to connect to the Data Access service for this management server

Hate to raise a sleeping horse but was hoping someone might have some insight into why SCOM Report Server install is failing. I am using a domain account for SCOM 2012 R2 services in a distributive environment
with 2 management servers and 2 SQL servers…one for Ops db and one for DW db.
Install was failing on selecting the management server. Research led me to
Kevin Holman's site. I followed his doc and SPN are set per your config and can telnet to MGMT1 on 5723…firewall is off on all servers. I am a domain admin and scom.mgmt account (MSOMSdkSvc) is a local admin on the MGMT servers.

    Bob

Well, I’m back to trying to get SCOM Report Server up and running. This time I decided to try the command line silent install and rely on logs to debug. But it still fails.
    This is the script: SETUP /install /InstallPath:D:\Program Files\Microsoft System Center 2012 R2\Operations Manager /components:OMReporting /ManagementServer:<server>.<domain> /SRSInstance:<instance> /DataReaderUser:<domain>\<account>
    /DataReaderPassword:******** /SendODRReports:0 /UseMicrosoftUpdate:0 /AcceptEndUserLicenseAgreement:1
When I run the script, I get a pop-up: “System CenterOperations Manager Setup has stopped working with the following:

    Check that following:
Verify permission of SCOM Account on sysadmin and OM DB.
    Check firewall that is disable
Check antivirus that didn't block scom folders or services.
    Check SQL services is running
Check Space of database at 5 GB as you configured. It is best practice to set the db size at a reasonable size and not to set to autogrowth.
