Increases number of JMS consumers in an OSB jms-polling proxy service

Hi All,
I'm looking for an option of increasing the number of JMS consumers in a JMS OSB proxy service. I know that this is possible by modifying the ejb, but I'm looking for any other option by using weblogic/proxy configuration. When I monitor the queue I have a number of 16 message consumers, but I would need to increse it to a higher number in order to improve the performance.
Please send me any suggestion o advice to solve it.
Thanks in advance
Luis

Sorry I sent it to the wrong place. I have moved it to Weblogic

  • Configure # of JMS consumers for WebServices over JMS Transport

I'm using WebLogic Server 9.2. My Web Services are using JMS Transport.
10,000 Web Services requests are submitted to the Web Services JMS queue at the same time. Processing time seems a little slow. In the Admin console, monitoring info of the JMS queue shows the Consumers is 4 and Consumers High is 6.
I want to scale Web Services processing by increasing the number of JMS consumers that transform JMS request messages into Web Services requests. Does anyone have an idea to configure it?

    Hi,
I don't think the number of consumers for a service is configurable. There is a single consumer for each service. Well, there is another consumer for interop purposes, which is irrelevant to our discussion here.
You may be aware that multiple consumers reading from the same queue would result in requests being processed in parallel, which means the order that the requests are processed might be different from the order that they are put into the queue.
For applications where the order of processing the requests to the same web service is not important, it probably makes sense to have an option of configuring multiple consumers. But this is no such option right now.

  • Osb cluster- HTTP proxy service 404 error

    Hi All,
I have a cluster set up with 2 managed servers. I crated a Any SOAP proxy from sbconsole to test If I can reach managed server form an external service. I do not have front load balancer set yet.
    osb server1: rdoelapp001011:61703
    osb:server2:rdoelapp001013:61703
    admin server : rdoelapp001011:61701
when I am trying to access http proxy using any of osb server host and port I am getting 404 error ( From the admin console I could see all the servers are running)
surprisingly I am getting success (200) when I am using admin server host and port.
That means the proxy is not got deployed to the managed server, it deployed to admin server
I looked into few weblogic/OSB document, I could not see anything specific regarding deploying HTTP proxy to osb servers in a cluster
How would I make sure to deploy to the cluster not to admin server
I also tried creating a file poller proxy to see if I get "Managed server" option to set. But I do not see that option here.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

According to your suggestion, I created a domain from scratch using config wizard with a cluster with two managed server
I started admin server then started managed server
I do not have any JMS stuff created/configured yet
while starting up managed OSB server I am getting below error. I think it is related JMS reporting stuff. In my scenario we do not need any reporting feature.
How would I disable it? while creating domain I did not select the ckeckbox for reporting. Then where did it come from?
    Please suggest.

  • OSB 11g - list Proxy services with enabled tracing

    Hello.
I went through OSB API and haven't found out a way, how to by script (Java or WLST):
    - list Proxy service with enabled 'Execution Tracing'
    - enabled and disable 'Execution Tracing'
Is there a way, how to do this by script somehow? I know, how to do it in SB console (e.g. on Smart Search page), but that's not what I want.
    Thank you for your help

  • Consume JMS Unit-Of-Work message through OSB proxy service

    Hi,
Anyone know how to consume a JMS Unit-Of-Work (UOW) message using an OSB Proxy Service of JMS type?
I can submit a unit-of-work JMS message (which consists of multiple constituent messages) using an OSB proxy & business service combination and setting the UOW transport headers appropriately. I can also separately produce and consume Java objects via a JMS queue where the consumption is done via OSB proxy (of java request message type), but these aren't UOW messages.
Apparently as soon as it is a UOW message then the message consumed is an ObjectMessage ArrayList and one has to use the "Java" request message type for the JMS consumer proxy, but I'm unsure of how to create the concurrent client jar to use it in the same proxy service's JMS transport configuration in order to output the ObjectMessage ArrayList (UOW message).
Ideally I'd like to consume a single UOW XML message via an OSB JMS proxy service.
    Any pointers would be appreciated.
    R

    Finally got this working!!
For posterity: Needed to insert Java Object JMS messages on the OSB JMS producer (Business Service) side with correct UOW jms transport header set in route node. Then consume the Unit-Of-Work message on the other side via jms proxy service with "java" request message type, with appropriate jar containing the Object class as the "Client jar" in the JMS Transport configuration. In the same JMS consumer proxy I had to do a java callout, passing the contents of $body, using java.util.ArrayList and javax.jms.ObjectMessage, as input into a method (.. decodeJavaMessage(ArrayList<ObjectMessage> ...)). In this java callout class you can get to each individual ObjectMessage via typecasting the get() method on the Arraylist to (ObjectMessage) and then just typecast the getObject() on this Objectmessage into your original Java Class (same as what you inserted onto queue originally).
Hope this saves someone some time in future!

  • Looping of OSB Proxy Service

    Hi All,
We have OSB file based proxy services to read data, transform each obbject and individually upload the transformed message to a JMS Queue. The execution is smooth for any file/content that takes less than 10 min of processing time.If theexecution time goes beyond 10 mins, a second thread of thesame proxy starts and completion of both threads (original and new) results in twice the number of records than expected. The xqueries and OSB code is tuned for performance. The concern is the "10 min" duration after which it starts a new thread.
Can anybody help me find where this 10 min setting is done on Weblogic? The MaxStruckThread time is set to 1800 (30 mins).
    -SK

Can anybody help me find where this 10 min setting is done on Weblogic?I think it may be JTA timeout setting which is causing the transaction rollback. You may consider increasing value of JTA timeout -

  • OSB: Proxy Service and Dispatch Policy

    Hi all,
I'm trying to use OSB (10.3) proxy service with dispatch policy set to WebLogic (10.3) work manager to limit maximum number of threads allocated for request to this proxy service.
It seems to me that whole dispatch policy setting is ignored in OSB. The situation is like this: I have simple Axis based web service with wait method that just waits for few seconds (based on request parameter). I use this service for testing (hm, so far just for trying to understand) OSB dispatch policy function.
Using soapUI I created a simple load test which uses 10 threads to call wait(10) - it means "wait for 10 seconds". Time limit for the whole load test is set to 20 seconds. It is clear that the total execution count is 2 x 10 = 20. So far, so good.
Then I created simple proxy service in OSB that just routes request to business service representing my Axis service with wait method. I set a dispatch policy for the proxy service to WorkManager-2threads (see below) and I expected that running the same load test with endpoint set to OSB would result in significant lower total execution count. I expected that because WebLogic should allocate 2 threads at most for all requests to this proxy service. However, that's not the case as the result is the same as in the first (Axis only) test. Just as there was no dispatch policy settings at all ...
    Where is the problem?
This is the relevant part of my WebLogic configuration regarding work manager:
    <max-threads-constraint>
    <name>MaxThreadsConstraint-2</name>
    <target>AdminServer</target>
    <count>2</count>
    <connection-pool-name></connection-pool-name>
    </max-threads-constraint>
    <work-manager>
    <name>WorkManager-2threads</name>
    <target>AdminServer</target>
    <max-threads-constraint>MaxThreadsConstraint-2</max-threads-constraint>
    <capacity xsi:nil="true"></capacity>
    <ignore-stuck-threads>false</ignore-stuck-threads>
    </work-manager>

It's same problem to me. I do pressure test by loadrunner,I deployed two separate proxy service, under same concurrent user,I get same TPS from the two proxy service.but when I add low priority concurrent user, low priority TPS up.
I set the Route option as you say,but weblogic hanged immediately, and can't be accessed by the console.

  • JMS Proxy Service !

    Hi I have a scenario --
    1. Pandox System(queue) ------> OSB [ ProxyService]-------->Seibel System(queue)
. Is the above scenario possible in OSB ? If yes , then how ?
. Should I go for JMS Bridge ? No ? Yes ? Why?
Note: What would be the end point URIs in the Proxy Service if the systems are non-weblogic like Pandox and Seibel ? Will it require any extra configuration any where in OSB ?

    OSB can interface with JMS/MQs.
You can configure your proxy service/business service JMS URI of the pattern if using JMS
    jms://localhost:port/QCFJNDI/QJNDI
For MQ you can use the MQ transport or create Foreign JMS servers depending on your version of OSB.
Refer OSB user guide for further details on MQ transport etc.

  • OSB DB Poller deleting the record when there is a failure

    Hi All,
My project consists of below OSB services..
DB Poller -> Proxy service A -> Proxy service B
DB Poller is JCA Based and it should delete the polled record after the complete flow is successful. If there is any error in my OSB Proxy services, the record should not be deleted.
Proxy service A calls Proxy service B using routing(static). My Proxy service B is throwing error and the record is getting deleted.
If I change to Dynamic routing the record id not getting deleted and the flow works as expected. The routing option configuration is same for both static and dynamic routing.
The only configuration in my routing option is QOS="Exactly once" .
Can anyone let me know why the record is deleted if I use static routing?
    Thanks in advance

In your scenario record will be deleted as your DB Poller will commit the transaction once the message has been delivered to Proxy Service A.
If you want the message not to be deleted then you must have only the DB Poller proxy include the logic of proxy A and must make a call to proxy B.

  • How to disable query-string evaluation in OSB proxy service?

OSB 10.3 proxy service evaluates the query String ?WSDL (are there more such parameters?). Usually the assigned WSDL will be returned this way.
I want to use OSB as simple HTTP-proxy. There is no WSDL assigned. The proxy service should simply pass all parameters to the request pipeline. This works fine for parameters in general but not for WSDL. This produces the exception below.
Does anyone have an idea how to disable this query string evaluation within OSB proxy service?
    Thanks

    Daniel,
http://hostServer/contextpath?WSDL is common way of retrieving WSDL for service whcih supports one. The case you are suggesting is if the service does not have any wsdl associated, then it is good practice that caller be notified appropriately which is being done by OSB. OSB is indicating that the service for which we have used ?wsdl has no wsdl associated.
I guess there is no way we can disable this feature for un-typed OSB services (services which doesn't have wsdl associated). Any reason why would we don't want exception when '?wsdl' is used?

You can associate a work manager with max thread constraints to the proxy service using proxy's dispatch policy configuration. Set a avlue higher than 16 for max threads in the work manager.

  • OSB jms clustering - load balancing seems to be not working

    Hi All,
I have one admin server and two managed servers running ( one of these managed server is running in the remote linux machine) in a cluster
I have connectionfactory created with load balance enabled with round robin
    and server affinity is disabled
I have queue created as uniformly distributed Q
I have a proxy service with load balancing as roundrobin and endpoint URL as below
    jms://rdoelapp001011:61703,rdoelapp001013:61703/synergyConnectionFactory1/MM_gridQ0
If I execute this proxy sending messages it always go to one server only. There is no message going to the other server.
If I shutdown the server that receives messages then the other server is receiving messages. Seems like fail-over is working but not the load-balancing
There is one point may be worth mentioning here is, from the admin console if I look at the servers for the clusters it has below information
Name      State      Drop-out Frequency      Remote Groups Discovered      Local Group Leader      Total Groups      Discovered Group Leaders      Groups      Primary
    synergyOSBServer1     RUNNING     Never     0     synergyOSBServer1     1     synergyOSBServer1     *{synergyOSBServer1}*     0
    synergyOSBServer2     RUNNING     Never     0     synergyOSBServer1     1     synergyOSBServer1     *{synergyOSBServer1, synergyOSBServer2}* 0
one server has groups as {synergYOSBServer1} instead of {synergyOSBServer1, synergyOSBServer2}. Does that look correct?

    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13159_01/osb/docs10gr3/deploy/config.html#wp1524235
If I am not wrong, the proxy service endpoint URI determines where it is pointing to. If it is a cluster environment, it should point to a clustered address
My proxy has below endpoint URI
    jms://rdoelapp001011:61703,rdoelapp001013:61703/synergyConnectionFactory1/MM_gridQ0
and rdoelapp001011:61703,rdoelapp001013:61703 is my cluster address
As per your suggestion "To fix your problem, *make osb to run on the cluster* and specify the same URL for the jms proxy service"
Could you please provide some instruction how would I "make osb jms proxy service to run in a cluster"
As a note, I have Q defined as a distributed Q and connection factory targets to the cluster. UDQ also targtes to the cluster.
Just for a testing I have created another manged server running local to the machine where my admin server is running
And I created a proxy by following steps as I mentioned above and with endpoint URI as below
    jms://rdoelapp001011:61703,rdoelapp001013:61703,*rdoelapp001011:61700*/synergyConnectionFactory1/MM_gridQ0
where the new address of my cluster is rdoelapp001011:61703,rdoelapp001013:61703,rdoelapp001011:61700
It did create consumers in both the managed servers in the cluster that are running locally, but no consumers in the remote managed server.
So I am kind of leaning towards thinking that there is some incorrect setup for the remote managed server and may be admin server is not able to communicate to the remote server for some reason but not sure about it..
As a note the cluster is setup to communicate using "unicast" channel
and I created a channel in each manged server with the same name
    here is the cluster configuration
    <name>synergyCluster1</name>
    <cluster-address>rdoelapp001011:61703,rdoelapp001013:61703,rdoelapp001011:61700</cluster-address>
    <default-load-algorithm>round-robin</default-load-algorithm>

    *<cluster-broadcast-channel>synergyChannel1</cluster-broadcast-channel>*
    *<number-of-servers-in-cluster-address>3</number-of-servers-in-cluster-address>*

  • JMS consumers and MDBs in free pool

              Hello
I am using WLS 7.0 SP1. I notice the following when using MDBs listening on
              a JMS queue.
The WLS console shows the number of JMS consumers to be equal to the <max-free-beans-in-pool>
parameter value in the MDBs deployment descriptor. I would expect the number of
JMS consumers to be equal to the <initial-free-beans-in-pool> value before I start
              posting messages to the queue.
              Thanks
              Ramdas

    Hi Ramdas,
I'm fairly sure that this is long-standing behavior, that
also occurs in 6.1 and 8.1. Since the number of beans
is limited by the number of available threads, the fact
that all of them are allocated right away is usually not
              an issue.
Post to the ejb newsgroup to make sure.
              Tom
P.S. If you haven't already, I suggest reading
the most recent version of the JMS performance guide. It
contains info on tuning MDB threading and pooling. You
can find the guide on dev2dev.

  • How to increase number of folders Apple Mail allows.

New folders in Apple Mail are appearing at end of list, rather than alphabetically.
Thanks for any suggestions to increase number of folders allowed.

    Deepak,
Check out the following link http://ysislmap.googlecode.com/svn-history/r3/note/siebel/MTServer.txt ..Will help you in configuring Max tasks.
I think you are using workflow policy programs to trigger emails using Email Manager component,if this is the case then it is not a recommended way to create another email manager component running in another siebel server, coz at same time both siebel servers will invoke the component to trigger mails ending you up in receiving two similar mails.
