Increment the number in Expression

Hi,
I am trying to increment the number in a expression transformation,instead of using sequence generator.
Can you please let me know how to achieve this?
Regards,
Siva

Hi Siva
I mean you can use the SQL syntax for incrementing a sequence within an expression operator. Then you must ensure you configure the mapping to use Set Based only code generation and execution mode. So you can do something like the following in your expression;
case when acol=2 then myseq.nextval else 0 end

  • Increment the number with date/time string. when ever the next date come's it should reset again with initial number

     i want to store the number of records in a file. Every time when ever i run the program the record will be incremented well i using forloop with count value 1 as a constant .in the for loop i am using autoincrement with the  feedback node . to view the number i have attached the indicatator .the number will be increment every time . i am using number to time time stamp  that is connected to get date/time string. from that we can view the date string and time string . so , my issue is when ever i close the code again it is coming with intial value . i should get from that number only where ever i close the code . after the date completed again it should come from intial value . i am attaching the code so that u guys can solve my problem.

    my requirement is the number of records should increase ........ whnever the program runs...that i made it. by the next day again it should begain with the intial value.........that is my requirement. i hope u understand .

  • Why does refreshing my web browser page increment the number of users connected to my Remote Front Panel?

    Hi,
    I'm using LabVIEW 2010 and a cRIO-9118 to broadcast my RT Front Panel on the web with a Web Server.
    I successfully configured the web server to be able to control my Front Panel remotely. However, I have an issue with "Refreshing" the browser.
    When I press "Enter" to search the adress of the web server, the number of users connected seems to increment by one and then tells me that "Too many users are connected to the front panel". Once this has been done, the only way to "unlock" the web server is to reboot the cRIO.
    Is there any solution to avoid this behavior?
    My current web browser is Internet Explorer 8.
    Thank you

    Hi Mathieu,
    Unfortunately, there currently isn't a very good solution for the problem you are facing. It seems like this is a known issue that R&D is working on. It so happens that in addition to simply refreshing, this issue also occurs if you try to access the Remote Front Panel using a second tab in a tabbed browser. One "fix" would be to invest in a higher count Remote Front Panel license. If that's not feasible, then the current recommendation would be to avoid connecting to the Remote Front Panel from a second tab or refreshing the view in your browser. Once you exceed the number of connections to the Remote Front Panel, you will have to restart the RT controller -- there isn't a way to change this default behavior. You can track any fixes by R&D by keeping note of the CAR (corrective action request) ID for this issue, which is #202702.

  • Operator used when the target list contains different number of expressions

    Hi all,
    My problem is that, i am having 4 columns in the first select statement, and in the second select 6 columns.
    The first 4 columns in the second select are the same(column name) as first select.
    But both selects have different criteria.
    Can anyone tell me is there any operator in sql, so that i can join these two in a single one.
    I have little idea about unions, joins. For using union, the number of expressions should be same in both select statements.

    Hi,
    you can use UNION and the SQL which has less number of columns you can use dummy columns as subsitute ( in place of columns which are not present in the SQL)
    -- SELECT 'first' AS FIRST , 0 as SECOND FROM DUAL;
    Thanks

  • Max. number of expressions exceeded

    I have a simple SQL to select data from a single table with a
    list of 1000 elements i.e. SELECT A FROM TABLE_A WHERE B IN (1,
    2, 3, ..., 1000). It worked fine. If I added one more i.e.
    WHERE B IN (1, 2, 3, ...., 1000, 1001), then I got error 1795 -
    Max number of expressions exceeded 254. I thought this error
    applies to the number of expressions. What I have was a list of
    values in a single expression -> B IN (1, 2, ...).
    I think the error message is misleading. If there is a limit of
    1000 elements in the IN expression, the error message should say
    so unlesss Oracle somehow formats the 1000 elements into 254
    expressions behind the scene.
    Any comments.
    Thanks.

    What versions are you using?
    Do you have a License?

  • ORA-01785: ORDER BY item must be the number of a SELECT-list expression

    I have a dynamic SQL on a page. The SQL is dynamic because there are 3 LOV fields from which the user may make selections, and those field values are used in the WHERE clause. Also, the 2nd LOV field is populated with AJAX based on the 1st LOV's selection. And, the SQL joins to another table. The report has 7 sortable columns. The main table the SQL runs over has about 1,000 rows in it.
    The 2nd table has about 500 rows. (Sorry, I'm not sure what information you might need to help me, so I listed several details.)
    The application, and page, have been working flawlessly for several weeks. Then, yesterday the page was being used and the user received the "ORA-01785: ORDER BY item must be the number of a SELECT-list expression" error. The error just appeared out of the blue, so to speak. After weeks of of usage this is the first time this error has appeared. The application had not been changed, but they had been entering data into the main table and the table joined to in the SQL. The application is in production, so I can't put the application into DEBUG, etc. to see what SQL is being built.
    Anyway, I was trying to debug the page today and was doing selections and seeing what would display, then as suddenly as the page quit working it started working correctly. No code changes made, no server changes made (to my knowledge), and no data changes made.
    I'm new to both Oracle and Apex, and am not a SQL, Oracle or Apex expert. So, I am very perplexed and don't have any idea of what could be happening.
    I don't know if it's an issue with the SQL, AJAX not loading the select fields properly, a corrupted table, a server load issue, or something else all together.
    Any suggestions?
    Also, I'm not familiar with Oracle error messages. Can they be red herrings sometimes? Because, I don't programmaticly code the ORDER BY of the SQL. Apex appends that part. So, how could that aspect quit working. And, then suddenly start working.
    Sorry, but I'm extremely confused. :-) Any suggestions or help will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks, Tony

    Hi Dan,
    Thanks for the feedback. I'm not going to be dogmatic about possible cause, but it has myself and another Oracle developer (who writes SQL and PL/SQL in his sleep) stumped. He doesn't think it's the SQL. Your suggestion was one of the first things we thought of considering the error message we got, but from Scott's reply that it could be a red herring, and after additional testing we've ruled the SQL out for now.
    I understand what you're saying, but the SQL selects all the columns (about 40 columns are selected) that are sortable columns on the report. I've sorted by all the columns by clicking on them and that aspect works without error.
    The SQL is created dynamically and is quite large. I've included below just for information purposes.
    Thanks, Tony

  • Is there a limit to the number of airport extremes and airport expresses one should have in a network?

    Is there a practical limit to the number of airport extreme base stations and airport express units one should have in a home network?

    Then, I had an older Airport extreme that I was thinking about connecting wirelessly in my living room and connecting the DirectV DVR to it by ethernet cable.
    Is this older AirPort Extreme the "round" version or the "square" shaped version? The "round" version will not do what you want.
    Whenever you extend an AirPort using wireless only, you will experience a loss of bandwidth (speed) on the entire network. That loss might be anywhere from 15-50% depending on how far the extending AirPort device is located from the "main" AirPort.
    Even with an excellent signal, if you have 3 AirPorts extending the signal, you will lose 40-50% of the bandwidth on the network. The other AirPorts that are being used just for music are also slowing things down.
    He thought there might be problems with using that third airport with the DVR and wondered if I should just use an Airport express there.
    It would make no difference whether you used an AirPort Extreme....assuming it was the "square" version or a new AirPort Express as far as performance is concerned.
    As to whether you connect the DVR to another AirPort, it might be OK, but you will not know until you try.
    If you find that things slow down noticeably, you will need to look for ways to connect the AirPorts together using a wired Ethernet connection. This is always the preferred connection method since there is no bandwidth loss when you do this.
    Since downloading video places a high demand on a wireless network, you might want to look for a way to connect the DVR back to your "main" router directly using a wired Ethernet connection as well.

  • How to get the footage's current frame number in expression?

    There are 2 layers.One is text layer,one is sequence layer.
    Footage has begun from the 20th frame.
    Therefore, the number of composition's current frame number and footage's frame number has shifted.
    I want to show footage's frame number in text layer . not composition's frame number.
    How to get the footage's current frame number in expression?
    Tatsuya

    >Footage has begun from the 20th frame.
    Do you mean that the footage layer has been trimmed (so that the start of the footage lines up with the start of the comp, but the first 19 frames are not visible), or moved to the left (so that frame 20 lines up with the comp's frame 0), or that the sequence actually begins with the 20th frame (at frame 0 of the comp), or something else?
    Are the frame rates of the comp and the footage the same?

  • Generate numbers in incremental order, the number of times condition met?

    I have tried explaining my problem here also.
    http://saloon.javaranch.com/cgi-bin/ubb/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=31&t=007531&p=1
    But trying to put in other words now.
    I have a NO tag which appears many times in xml. and alwyas have some random numbers displaying.
    output looks something similar to this
    something......<NO>1</NO>
    something......<NO>1</NO>
    something......<NO>2</NO>
    something......<NO>1</NO>
    something......<NO>3</NO>
    something......<NO>1</NO>
    something......<NO>5</NO>
    something......<NO>1</NO>
    something......<NO>1</NO>
    something...... & so on.
    Now instead of these numbers coming in this order i prefer to display in final output file as
    1 2 3 4 5 .................... n
    Is it possible in any ways using xslt.
    DO we need to ignore the values given in input file and then generate output values for same.
    it can be like the number of times NO tag appears in xml, it should start from 1 and keep increasing value by 1, until NO tag finishes appearance.
    But next time when other xml transforms it again should be able to start from 1 till n.
    is there a possibility of using java code for this situation or xslt is capaable enough to handle this.
    Thanks
    VJ

    I'm guessing you are looking for something like this. I used a pull approach but it could be done with a push (xsl:for-each).
    Sample XML
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <root>

         <NO>1</NO>
         <NO>2</NO>

         <NO>3</NO>
         <NO>1</NO>
         <NO>5</NO>
         <NO>1</NO>
         <NO>1</NO>
    </root>
    Sample XSLT
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <xsl:stylesheet version="1.0" xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform">
         <xsl:output method="xml" version="1.0" omit-xml-declaration="yes" encoding="UTF-8" indent="yes"/>
         <xsl:template match="root">
              <output>
                   <xsl:apply-templates select="NO"/>
              </output>
         </xsl:template>
         <xsl:template match="NO">
              <row>
                   <xsl:value-of select="position()"/>
              </row>
         </xsl:template>
    </xsl:stylesheet>
    Sample Output
    <output>
         <row>1</row>
         <row>2</row>
         <row>3</row>
         <row>4</row>
         <row>5</row>
         <row>6</row>

  • How to determine the number of incrementation of a compononent in a BOM?

    Hi,
    Using the transaction CO03 you can access to the component overview. On the left you can see the number of the component in the BOM.
    eg:
    Material M1
    10 C1
    20 C2
    30 C3
    I need to use a BAPI in order to modify the BOM adding or modifying a component. In the case of adding a new component I need to determine the last number of the component in the BOM (done) and adding a number (here and by default 10). In order to be sure I would like to find the customizing which indicates that the component are indicated 10 by 10.
    Could you help me?
    Thanks,
    David

    How To Ask Questions The Smart Way
    Eric Steven Raymond
    Rick Moen
    Write in clear, grammatical, correctly-spelled language
    We've found by experience that people who are careless and sloppy writers are usually also careless and sloppy at thinking and coding (often enough to bet on, anyway). Answering questions for careless and sloppy thinkers is not rewarding; we'd rather spend our time elsewhere.
    So expressing your question clearly and well is important. If you can't be bothered to do that, we can't be bothered to pay attention. Spend the extra effort to polish your language. It doesn't have to be stiff or formal ? in fact, hacker culture values informal, slangy and humorous language used with precision. But it has to be precise; there has to be some indication that you're thinking and paying attention.
    Spell, punctuate, and capitalize correctly. Don't confuse "its" with "it's", "loose" with "lose", or "discrete" with "discreet". Don't TYPE IN ALL CAPS; this is read as shouting and considered rude. (All-smalls is only slightly less annoying, as it's difficult to read. Alan Cox can get away with it, but you can't.)
    More generally, if you write like a semi-literate b o o b you will very likely be ignored. So don't use instant-messaging shortcuts. Spelling "you" as "u" makes you look like a semi-literate b o o b to save two entire keystrokes.

  • How to find the number of references created for a given  object ??

    How to find the number of references created for a given object in a big application environment.
    That means, if i give any object name (of my application) as input, then how can i find the[b] number of references created for that particular object ??

    Please do not post the same question multiple times.
    As for your original question, there is no direct way to do it.
    Especially not the way you phrased it,
    since objects don't have "names".
    Applications also don't have "names".
    They have classes and instances.
    Also, there are 2 related issues, and I'm not sure which one is the one you asked.
    #1. Finding the number of references to the same object.
    Eg.
    Map<String,String> a = new HashMap<String,String>();
    Map<String,String> b = new HashMap<String,String>();
    Map<String,String> c = a;In this case, there are only 2 objects.
    The first object has (at least) 2 references pointing to it.
    The second object has (at least) 1 reference pointing to it.
    (There may be more, if the HashMap library keeps
    references to these things, or if the HashMap object has
    some internal cyclic references...)
    If you're asking this, then it can't be done.
    It's an active research topic in universities
    and software research labs, called "alias analysis".
    Type it in google, and you'll see people are working hard
    and having little success so far.
    #2. Finding the number of instances created from a class.
    In this case, what you have to do is to add a counter to
    the constructor of the class. Every time an object is constructed,
    you increment the counter. Like this:
       class MyClass
           public static int counter = 0;
           public MyClass( )  { counter++; }
        // Then later in your program, you can do this:
        MyClass a = new MyClass();
        MyClass b = new MyClass();
        System.out.println(MyClass.counter); // It should show 2Note: you won't be able to do this to every class in the system.
    For every class you care about, you have to modify its constructor.
    Also: when an object is deleted, you won't always know it
    (and thus you won't always be able to decrement the counter).
    Finalizers cannot always work (read Joshua Bloch's
    "Effective Java" book if you don't believe me), but basically
    (1) finalizers will not always be called, and
    (2) finalizers can sometimes cause objects to not be deleted,
    and thus the JVM will run out of memory and crash

  • How do I find the number of instances of a text entry?

    Hello,
    I have a spreadsheet and the cells have either a text entry or numerical entry.
    I am trying to work out how to write a formula to total the number of cells which have a particular text entry.
    Any help would be apprectiated. Thank you.

    =COUNTIF(test-array, condition)
    'test-array' is the range of cells you want to test
    'condition' must be expressed as a text string. To find the count of "example text" on the table named "Data", you could use either of the formulas below (on a separate table). Both counts are of 'all columns of "Data"'. The counts include items in the Header column (Column 1 of Data), but do NOT include items in the Header row (Row 1).
    In the single cell table, "Count 1" the search text is stated as a literal in the formula:
    =COUNTIF(Data :: $A:$D, "=example text")
    In the two cell table, the search text (other text), is set in the top cell, A1, and that cell is referenced in the formula in A2:
    =COUNTIF(Data :: $A:$D, "="&A1)
    Note that because of the omission of Header row cells, the formulas could be placed in a Header Row cell on the main table ("Data"), with the search value also placed in a Header row cell on that table. The formulas in this case would not include the "Data::" part of the 'test-array' argument.

    Barry
