Indentifying queries with variables

Hai is there a direct single table which gives the list of queries when we input the variable technical name. I have the tables RSCOMPDIR,RSZ tables in se11 but of no help its just beating round the bush without direct reference to the query.
plz suggest me ..
Goodday.

Well I am not sure about the table name, but if you want to know the Query technical names in which a particular Variable is used, you can check the Variable -> Where used list and this will give you all the Queries where it is used.
I hope this answers.

  • Queries with variable input giving error

    Hello all,
I have a query which asks for fiscal year and posting period at the start of query run. But when I run the query in Bex analyzer, it gives me this error all the time.
"Program error in class SAPMSSY1 method : UNCAUGHT_EXCEPTION
System error in Program CL_RSR_REQUEST and form TEXT_ELEMENTS_GET: VARIABLE"
I found a note for that "858458" but it doesn not mention aboit NW2004s. So was just wondering can I still apply ?
    Can someone help,
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Prakash,
I am trying to open the query in Bex analyzer(excel), Release NW 2004s Patch 701 and Query Designer same relase and patch.
The query I am trying to run is on DSO (0HE_DS01) and the queries are from 3.5/03.
The error in Bex analyzer is as above and when i try to open in query designer I get a long error (below) and at the end of the error this is the description that comes.
"When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the machine
rather than being handled by this dialog."

  • Report Designer - Query with variable

    Hi!
When testing the report designer, we have found an issue - it’s not possible to embedding queries with variables.
    We have found note https://websmp107.sap-ag.de/~form/sapnet?_FRAME=CONTAINER&_OBJECT=012006153200000232982006
that suggest a solution to the issue.
My question is simply, does anyone know if this is a temporary fix, or is this a constraint that is not planned to be fixed by SAP? The note is a bit ambiguous.

    Hello,
Queries with variables are still in restrictions for Report Designer.
You can use this work-arond creating Query View and fill up the variables. This allows you to define a Report in RD. Then, use Web Appication Designer to include your Report into Web Application and replace the Query View with your initial Query.
    For the integration do following:
    1. Create new Web Template in WAD
    2. Drag-and-drop Web Item "Report"
    3. Go to Property Window in WAD and search for "REPORT" (description Report Design) parameter in Web Items Parameters
    4. Use the button on the right side of the parameter to open Report Designer and choose your Report in it.
    5. You should see that new Data Provider was created in WAD -> Open it and set it to your initial Query.
    5. Save you Web Template and execute in the browser.

  • How to querie with bind variable in findMode?

    Hallo,
is it possible to use a querie with bind variable in findMode? And when how is it possible to initialize the bind variable?
    Any help is appreciated.

    Hi,
bind variables can be linked from teh ADF binding to e.g. a managed bean, the sessionScope or other binding attributes via EL. So when you go into findMode and execute the query, the EL will grab the bindVariable values automatically.

  • Filters with variables user-exits on queries

Is it possible to define complex selection criteria by using the EXIT_SAPLRRSO_001?. Something similar to what we may do a select for Sap:
    Select * from table where ((field1 = value1 and field2 = value2) or (field1 = value3 and field2 = Value4)).
I guess not, it seems that only allows a range for output as a single variable ...
If this is not possible, is there any way to filter the data before the show?. I do not care who is among the infoprovider and Bex, who between Bex and Excel ...
Filters with variables user-exits on queries

The variable can take any combination that can be specified in a select-option. The criteria used to select these values to be populated for the variable can be as complex as any ABAP program. So all combinations in a select statement are allowed.

    Dear Saini,
This query will allow you to choose the values only when you know them.
    SELECT T0.[DocEntry], T0.[ItemCode] FROM INV1 T0 WHERE T0.[LineNum] >[%0]   and T0.[LineNum] <[%1]
If you run it in the query Generator in SAP Business One a little window will pop up and will ask you to choose the 2 variables.
You can choose different variables every time you run it. At least you won't have to save many queries with different values.
If you want 2 different groups, e.g. from 10 to 20 and from 30 to 40, then you can add another part in the where clause:
    SELECT T0.[LineNum], T0.[ItemCode], T0.[DocEntry] FROM INV1 T0 WHERE T0.[LineNum]  >= [%0] and  T0.[LineNum]  <= [%2] and T0.[LineNum]  >= [%4] or  T0.[LineNum]  <= [%6]
Please, let me know if this query helps.

    left outer join OWHS T4 on T4.[WhsName] = a.[U_Prj]
    where

In this code, when the variable is assigned to field U_WONo, then I get an error
Must Specify A Table To Select From. Statement 'Service Contractors' (OCTR) (s)  could nto be prepared.
But when the values for variables are hard coded, the query executes.
I have been working on it from long time, but same error exists. Could anybody help resolve the same...
    I am using SAP B1 2007 B, patch level 15.
    Thanks in advance,
    Regards
    Rohan

The error messages may be misleading. With complicated queries with parameter request I frequently saw references to service contract (or something other).
Sometimes SBO does not manage correctly variables in complicated queries and there is a note about the workaround to solve the problem:[Note730960|https://websmp130.sap-ag.de/sap/bc/bsp/spn/sapnotes/index2.htm?numm=730960]

  • Problem with Variable 0I_CUFQU

    Hi all,
We are using Fiscal year/ Period with variable SAP Exit 0I_CUFQU  in FIGL_V11 reports.
Earlier It was working fine but after Patch Upgrade when I run the same report I am getting the Follwing error.
Variable 0I_CUFQU could not be replaced.
If anyone knows the answer please share the solution for the same.
    Regards,
    Ali.

    Hi Ali,
All these variables use sap exit varaible 0P_FVAEX for thier internal calculation. this is a program error and cen be resolved by SAP note 1322757.
The following SAP exit variables for BW queries may be affected by the error (the technical names for the variables):
    0P_PRFP1, 0P_PRFP2, 0I_CUFYE, 0I_PRFYE, 0I_CUFQU, 0I_PRFQU,
    0I_PRFY2, 0F_CUFPE, 0F_FPER, 0I_P2FQ0, 0I_P3FQU
This note will correct the program error.
Let me know if this works.

  • Issue with Variable on 0FISCPER

    Hi,
I am using a single value/ mandatory variable on 0FISCPER in my queries. It has been working fine till now but when i click on the drill down of that variable in the selection screen, it gives me a 500 INTERNAL SERVER ERROR (java.lang.NullPointerException). IF i enter a value manually without clicking on the drop down, it is working fine and the query is getting executed. How can i resolve this problem.

  • Issue with variable values while adding report to Bookmarks/Favorites

    Hello All,
I am able to save the reports from my portal as bookmarks with the appropiate navigation state & variable values for reports which do not have a mandatory value variable with no default value. For all other queries like queries with no mandatory variables or queries containing mandatory variables with default values, this is working fine. Any inputs is appreciated. We are in BI7.0 with SP12.
    Thanks,

What's your question, because from your statement, it seems like everything is fine ??

  • Problem with Variable Entry Screen

    Hello All,
We upgraded our development systems to NW2004s and came across the following issue:
All our Bex queries have restricted time characteristics with variables entries. When we execute a query it should pop-up the variable selection screen for us to enter the restriction values but the query is ignoring Variable restriction screen and taking into consideration everything. The same query works fine in Prod., which is still in 3.1.
Did anyone come across this situation kind of situation? It did not pop-up any type of error and we are in SPS10
    Thanks in Advance,

We fixed the "Variable Screen not appearing" problem by adding following objects to our users.
    1) Business Explorer - BEx Web Templates (NW 7.0+) S_RS_BTMP
    2) Business Explorer - Individual Tools S_RS_TOOLS
    3) Business Explorer - Data Access Services S_RS_DAS

  • Report Designer - Summary page based on 3 queries with dynamic hierarchy?

    Dear All,
I am trying to build a workbook based on 3 queries with a summary page that pulls in the query data into one page.
Each query is based on one key figure that is split by profit centre hierarchy.
    i.e.
    Turnover
    -Profit Centre Node A
    -Profit Centre Node B
    -Profit Centre Node C
    > Profit Centre C1
    > Profit Centre C2
The user can dril-down into each query at whatever level of the PC Hierarchy they wish.
My issue is trying to structure a dynamic summary page that pulls in all rows from the individual queries regardless of the number of profit centre hierarchies contained in each. i.e. The summary could have 5 PCs for queries 1,2 & 3 in one execution, but then 10 for all queries in another execution.
    Question:
Can report designer be used to make a dynamic summary sheet that will capture all rows from the individual query? or would an excel macro summary be the only way of doing this?

    Hi Ingo,
After much testing and looking into trace etc. we have got this thing to behave as desired. Basically, following two things,
    - no reference to CR Dynamic Hierarchy variable on report. There were places where this parameter was being refered and causing grief. We tested with brand new report.
    - making sure that on query Cost center restriction is placed in Characteristic Restriction area of Filter tab of query, as oppose to default value area filter tab.
With above in place, the published report in infoview behave as desired, i.e. proper hierarchy structure in cost center prompt and group tree and only desired nodes showing on report.
Thank you for all you pointers
    Regards

  • WAD 2 queries with 1 input values taking for only 1 query.

    Hi Gurus,
Can anyone please tell me. I am working on a report 2 queries in WAD and 1 variable / input screen before running a report & 1 variable screen or filter pane after running a report. So 1.filter pane on top 2. chart (1st query) between 3. Analysis pane (2nd query) at bottom.
Problem here is when we give input values on variable screen or input screen in WAD it is taking that as an input & applying on 2nd query (analysis pane) where it is not applying on 1st query so 1st query is showing all values & 2nd query is showing values that are given as input & filter pane is showing values that are given as input in variable screen.
Here affected data providers is checked for both data providers. can anyone please tell me what would be the problem or how can i make input screen effect on both queries.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Sudheer,
Is the same variable being used across both the queries with all settings etc the same? In WAD web template settings, you can uncheck 'Display same Variables for different queries only once [MELT_VARIABLES]' & check if you see the same variable twice. Try entering the same value against both & check if the Chart qry gets affected.

  • Command buttons to Assign Query / Query view with variables on Workbooks

    Hi experts,
We want to have a workbook with buttons that will change the Query/Query view displayed in the unique grid we have.
We've included command buttons on a workbook, as "<b>Data Provider Specific Command</b>" and chose the Queries, selecting the "<b>Assign Query / Query View</b>" option.
When using queries without variables or just SAP exit variables it works perfectly, clicking the buttons change the table displayed accordingly. But when using queries that have at least one variable, in our test to select time interval, it doesn't work anymore.
In our test, we're using just 2 queries and they have the same input variable (to select months interval); but when clicking the button no change/error occurs.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
Here is one approach - Keep three analysis items in the WT. Assign three different data providers to all three analysis items. If you do not want to show any query when the WT first loads, don't assign any query to the data providers. When a button is pushed, you can use the command SET_DATA_PROVIDER_PARAMATERS to assign a query to a DP so that that query will show up.
Other commands that will help you would be SET_ITEM_PARAMETERS using which you can hide analysis items and also, you can use the command BACK_TO_INITIAL_DP_STATE on data providers so that they do not show up if they were blank at the start.
Another way to hide a query is to assign the analysis item to a data provider which is blank.
For your requirements, you will have to put multiple commands behind each button - you can decide which of the above commands suit you best.

    Billy  Verreynne  wrote:
    Why? For what purpose?
A cursor fetch loop is not the ideal processing structure.
It is slow. It requires data to travel from the buffer cache of the database into PL/SQL variables (in the PGA). It requires context switching between the PL/SQL and SQL engines.
It does not scale. More rows means more data to travel that path from the SQL engine to the PL/SQL engine. More loop iterations in PL/SQL. If a single loop iteration (for processing a row) is 1ms, then a 100,000 rows will take a 100 seconds. 200,000 rows 200 seconds. Etc. This clearly does not scale with an increase in data volume.
Also keep in mind that DBMS_OUTPUT does not write to screen or display anything. It is incapable of accessing a client device as it executes inside a server process. So each call to DBMS_OUTPUT stores that line of text in very expensive server memory. When the database call is done, the client (e.g. TOAD or SQL*Plus) can read those lines from the database and the client can display it.
So if your loop is for a 1000 rows, it means writing a 1000 lines of text into very expensive server memory - and then expecting the client to read that afterwards and display it. Why? This is not a standard client-server method. It also does not scale. It can actually crash the server when this method is abused.
The standard method would be to create a SQL cursor using PL/SQL code, and then return a reference handle (pointer) to the client. This allows the client the ability to fetch data directly from the cursor - in an optimal way that does not consume expensive server memory.I have to say it: I sincerely appreciate you taking the time to write this whenever it needs to be written rather than just giving up and letting people stumble along with bad design - it must take a lot of mental stamina to keep doing it. One day it will sink into my head also :-)
