Indesign CS 3 crahes when using print command

Hi there,
I just updated my 2007 iMac to OS X 10.8.5.
When I started Indesign after installation of the new Mac OS I was required to install another software which workel fine.
I can open Indesing with no problem, but using the print command willl crash Indesign every time.
Crash report states:

Any idea hoe to fix this?

CS3 in Lion, Mountain Lion and Mavericks will crash when you print every time.
Adding or trying to make new print presets or printing will crash indesign CS3 instantly. It doesn’t like how the folders in
/Library/Printers/ppds/Contents/Resources/en.lproj
is formatted. There are 5 folders in the Resources folder called en.lproj etc. (i.e. lots of different country folders).
Move any ppds you have installed to the Resources folder (ie, out of the en.proj folder) and delete all 5 folders. Delete the adpdF8.ppd (important). InDesign will now load print presets and they can be made manually and you will be able to print.
Be careful though, Acrobat Pro 8, when booted, will run a self heal routine. Because we have removed folders from the ppds folder in /Library, it tries to ‘repair’ this. Don’t repair as it will put the folders back into the ppds folder and indeign will crash again and you'll go round in a big circle. Instead, if you need to run Acrobat 8, we need to go into the acrobat app package and make its self heal routine see what we want it to see.
Go to your acrobat pro 8 app and show package contents. navigate to:
Contents - MacoS - SelfHealFiles - adobepdFprinter - ppds - Contents - Resources
take the adpdF8.ppd out of the en.lpoj folder and put it loose in the Resources folder. delete the five folders en.lpoj etc.What we’re doing here is making these folders look the same as our /Library/printers/ppds/Contents/Resources/ path.
When you now boot acrobat pro 8, it will still do its check but what it is looking for will match what is already there.You can now use all your CS3 apps in Lion, Mountain Lion and Mavericks.

  • How can I show only text edits and not text formatting when using print comments summary?

    Acrobat 9.3.0 for Mac.
    Here is the scenario: I used the Compare command to see the changes between 2 PDFs. The resulting file some edits are inserts and some are deletions. I want to print a comments summary only showing the text edits. In the Compare Option pane, I select Text and deselect Images, Annotations, Formatting, Headers/Footers, and Backgrounds. Now on the screen I see inserts are highlighted in blue and deletions are marked with sort of a caret and vertical bar symbol. So all looks good at this point. However, when I show the Comments List, I see addtional comments that indicate "Replace - The following text attributes were changed: fill color." Those comments do not appear in the page view unless I check the Formatting check box to show them. With Formatting unchecked, I print a comments summary and all of the "Replace - Fill Color" comments" appear on the resulting comments summary.
    I only want to show text edits, not text formatting changes. So questions are:
    1. Why, when the Formatting checkbox is unchecked, do the text formatting comments still appear in the comments list when they do not appear on the page display.
    2. How can I print only the text content edits and not show the text formatting changes when using Print Comments Summary.

    Hi,
    You can set ExecuteWithParams as default activity in the task flow then method activity to return total no of rows passing to Router activity if your method has value 0 then call Create insert operation else do directly to page.
    Following idea could be your task flow
    Execute With param (default) > SetCurrentRowWithKey > GetTotalNoOfRows (VOImpl Method)
    |
    v
    Router
    1. If pageFlowScope outcome is 0 then call CreateInsert > MyPage
    2. if pageFlowScope outcome > 0 then MyPage
    hope it helps,

  • Exchange 2013 CU5 , Exchange Power Shell very very very slow reasponse when using get command.

    Exchange 2013 CU5 , Exchange Power Shell very very very slow reasponse when using get command.
    First my organize has Exchange on 2 site like
    site A (internet facing) : 2CAS 2 MB all are Services pack1
    site B (DR Site , no user active on this site) : 2CAS 2MB all are Services pack 1
    so today I upgrade Exchange 2013 from SP1 to CU5 start on "site B" and I found this issue and the details is....
    When I open EMS on any CU5 for query something (like get-mailboxdatabasecopystatus) the response return very slow and some query will not return at all (like get-owavirtualdirectory).
    But If I using EMS on SP1. Everything is ok then I try to use EMS on SP1 connect to CU5 and try to query something. the result is
    some query command cannot return for any result that are server on siteB (just some query command)
    Problem
    EMS on CU5 return very slow result.
    EMS on SP1 still ok.
    Does anyone face this problem before for CU5??? Please help me figure this out. Thank you
    reply from Social.technet

    Hi,
    Have you used the above cmdlets to check your Exchange server health?
    "all other command that I ran on EMS didn't logged on event viewer.", my environment is the same with you. I use Exchange 2013, only errors will be displayed in MSExchange Management. Actually, it is not related to slow EMS response.
    Hope it helps.

  • When using printer Epson R1900 with Aperture 3 and if I mistakenly choose the wrong paper such as, epson's luster instead of glossy, does that change the exposure? Like make it too dark one or two stops!

    When using printer Epson R1900 with Aperture 3 and if I mistakenly choose the wrong paper such as, epson's luster instead of glossy, does that change the exposure? Like make it too dark one or two stops!

    Hi,
       If you choose the incorrect settings for printing, yes - the print quality will be affected.
    Different papers absorb the ink differently, so you can end up with prints that are too light, too dark, or have a colour cast if you make incorrect choices in your Aperture or printer settings.

  • Text Missing when using PDF Convert but OK when using print PDF

    I am using Acrobat Pro 9 in Wnidows 7 and Microsoft Publisher 2003.
    When I use the CONVERT command to create a PDF - it is missing all of the text on the master page.
    If I create the PDF with the PRINT command - everything is OK.
    PS: The same Publisher File on another computer using Acrobat Pro 8 works fine -  CONVERT or PRINT and no missing text
    I prefer to use convert because sometimes the PRINT command drops some of the hyperlinks.

    You're posting in the wrong forum, but you already know that...
    In any case, if you're running XP (you didn't supply any info about your environment, which is critical), there's a Microsoft HotFIX patch for PostScript printers such as Acrobat to fix the missing text problem. Do a Google for "Framemaker hotfix missing text" to locate the patch.

  • Printng FOIs with labels do not hidde not visible labels when using print function

    Hello,
    when I use the print function the HTMLElement labels on a FOI object
    that are not in the visible scope are not hidden. I provided an example
    where the 'Dallas' FOI is not in the visible area and when you print it
    the circle is invisible but the label 'Dallas' is on the print out.
    The second problem is that all lables on the printout have the same

    Im using Mapviewer 11.1.1.7 and the testcase is based on a mvdemo map.
    If you use the print function you should see the problem:

    All marker symbols (SFO, Phoenix) show up in the same color (in print) because the same name is used for all the maker styles. Change the style names and the right colors should be used in printed map.

    var markerRed = new MVStyleMarker("my_vector_icon_r", "vector");
    var markerBlue = new MVStyleMarker("my_vector_icon_b", "vector");

  • Error when using "say" command

    Hi guys,
    VERY new here, but as i signed up i wanted to ask a quick question.
    When using the say command in terminal today i noticed an error pop up in the two following lines saying;
    MTBEAudioUnitSoundOutput::PropagateProperty Error -10851
    MTBEAudioUnitSoundOutput::PropagateProperty Error -10851
    The sound still played for the command, but i wondered if this error was important or something needed to be done.
    I have tried looking elsewhere online to find an ansswer but can't find any information.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated
    Jimi

    Are you using the stock voices, or something else?  In general, I'd keep to the stock voices with say.
    As a test, see if the following works:
    say -v Alex "Testing"

    Regards,

    Hi,
    Even though the problem manifests when using loadjava, it has noting to do with the embedded Java VM in the database; it's rather an install /upgrade problem.

  • Colour assurance when using printing house

    I have had problems with colour accuracy when using a printing house to make prints bigger than the A3 that I can manage on my Photo 1290 although ones I have printed have been correct. Would a colour chart and grey step wedge on a border help the printing house to adjust colours to be correct? Or is the fault mine, I have had no comments indicating colour problems from the stock libraries that I have supplied with digital files?
    Advice would be appreciated on a) how to correct the problem if I am at fault or b) how to ensure the grey scale and colour patches conform to a standard, because if the fault is mine then the scales could also be wrong.
    I'm using Mac Leopard, photoshop CS3.

    "I have had problems with colour accuracy when using a printing house to make prints bigger than the A3 that I can manage on my Photo 1290 although ones I have printed have been correct."
    What exactly are you seeing that is causing your concern?
    " Would a colour chart and grey step wedge on a border help the printing house to adjust colours to be correct? Or is the fault mine, I have had no comments indicating colour problems from the stock libraries that I have supplied with digital files?"
    A color chart would do you little good. A gray step could tell you if their process is properly gray balanced and linearized. I don't know which printing service you are using, but most have an automatic assumption that you are feeding sRGB, kind of a lowest common denominator. The best thing to do, if you have access to the capability, is, of course, to make your own custom profile of their printer, but you'll still be subject to their process control - y'know - variabilities in printer calibration and chemical process stability.
    Does the vendor you are dealing with actually have a printer profile you can download and use or do they just tell you to send the file in. Are there any guidelines from them at all?
    You might consider buying a larger, newer Epson and bringing it all in house.

  • Why is my InDesign CS6 document offsetting when it prints?

    I've had CS6 for several months and had no issues... until now. Suddenly an 8.5" x 11" basic document i use regularly is printing with a .25" offset at top and left, as if allowing for bleeds. But I've checked all settings in document and print options, and offset is turned off, as are bleed/slug selections. I have no "invisible" items in my document that could be triggering bleeds by default. I'm stumped. Can anyone suggest any settings I might have missed?
    Note: I recently printed a larger document with bleeds on ledger sized (11" x 17") paper through the manual feed tray. Some of those settings showed up in my document print options, and I've weeded those out (I think). But I'm still getting the offset when I print.

    Thanks for the reply. I'd already checked the printer setup.
    I reset the printer presets (at the very top of the print dialog box) to "default" and that seemed to fix the problem. I still have no idea what was selected/unselected to cause the offset issue.

  • Color Separations When Using "Print Booklet" feature

    My document has a 2-color logo (black & spot PMS 485) and a 10% black screen on it.  When I make a pdf using the export to pdf everything breaks out correctly.  When I use the print booklet feature and "print" it as a pdf or postscript it changes some of the black in my logo to 4-color black.  It also changes the 10% black screen to 4-color.  I've tried just about every setting I can think of and can't seem to get it to break out correctly.
    The below images show what I'm talking about.  The top part of each image is the original InDesign file.  The bottom images are after they have been inserted into the print layout.  The one on the left shows with all colors shown and the one on the right shows the black turned off in the separations preview.  You can see on the bottom of the right one the black screen is still showing and the black in the logo is also because somehow they have been converted to 4-color.

    In the Print dialog make sure Output>Color is Composite CMYK, Graphics>Send Data is set to All, and Color Management>Printer Profile is set to Document CMYK.

    Hi,
    Please try with this:
    Run a command prompt as administrator. From the start menu, select "All Programs", then "Accessories" and right-click on the "Command Prompt" shortcut and choose "Run As Administrator". From here you can use the following command to disable Data Execution Prevention (DEP) with the following command:
    bcdedit.exe /set nx AlwaysOff
    Keeping your command prompt open, run your setup or other process being stopped by DEP. Then, to turn it back on again, do the same and run the following:
    bcdedit.exe /set nx AlwaysOn
    Now try again.

  • Runtime.exec() - Problem when using cvs-command

    I have a problem with the Runtime.getRuntime().exec() - Command. I try to execute a command to export files from our cvs-repository. As you hopefully know, cvs produces a lot of output.
    When I start my 'cvs export ... '- command from the console-window of windows, everything works perfect. But when I try to use the Runtime.getRuntime().exec("CVS export ...") the created cvs-subprocess stops after the export of the first three files. When I close the main-window, where the cvs-process was started from, the cvs-process continues working.
    I could see, that many others had the same problem, but I couldn't find a real solution there.
    Is there a possibility to clear/delete the output-buffer of the cvs-subprocess, because I don't really need the information, that cvs gives me. It is enough for me when cvs stores the files :-)
    My source:
    public void executableTest()
    Runtime run = Runtime.getRuntime();
    try
    Process cvsProcess = run.exec("cvs export .... ");
    cvsProcess.waitFor();
    BufferedReader in = new BufferedReader
              ( new InputStreamReader(cvsProcess.getInputStream()) );
         String line;
         while ((line = in.readLine()) != null)
              System.out.println(line);
         catch (Exception e)
         System.out.println(e.getMessage());
    Thanks for your help.

    if the buffer is overflowing, then you don't want to do the waitfor until after you've hit the end of the inputstream, me thinks.

  • Add-on crashes when using Print Preview

    Hi Experts!
    I'm experiencing a problem with SAP B1.
    We developed a simple add-on to hide the Logistic Tab in the Sales Order form. This was done using SAP B1 Studio and setting the System Form's Logistic Tab Visible = True.
    This seems to be working fine during debug mode. However, when I created an installer, and deployed it in the same machine, whenever the user clicks Print Preview in Sales Order, SAP B1 prompts for Restart, Continue Working without this Add-on option.
    We are using SAP B1 9.0 PL12.
