Indexing . How to mark a name to be fully indexed?

Hi,
I have a litttle problem in indexing names in the book I am preparing.
It should be fairly simple but I dont see the answer in the doc.
Here it is;
Although the text is in French, this is what I am talking about:
In the text, i have something like
"Au cours de la journée, Edouard Daladier, fut recu par diverses personnalités"...
Now how would you mark the name (in red) in such a way that the indexing program will index it as the last name first? Here Daladier is the last name.

One more think i can think that might be done wrong is the shotcut. If you use the " ] " i.e. Ctrl-Alt-Shift-] the name would be added last name first name but incase you use the " [ " then the name would show up in the index pannel as "First name, Last name"
P.S: i think you have selected the reference button in the index pannel as shown by Ellis

I am training myself on sql tuning and over the years I have seen ppl creating many indexes, today I am trying to learn various types of indexes and just curious to see physical data in an index but I am not able to do so on toad, I know if I have some index def like:
create index employees_employee_id on employees(employee_id)
my index would have two columns of information : first rowid and employee_ids in sorted order, right ? <- if my understanding is not right could any1 please correct me here.
PS: The major problem is to see physical index data in toad, please help me with it.

There is no SELECT query that could be written over an index. But a SELECT query on a TABLE can be in such a way that Oracle only scans the index and give you the information
Here is an example.

The big question is 'why'.
Selecting from view 'dba_tables' will indeed give the list of all tables in the database, but that includes the dictionary tables and the internal tables, and many others that are probably not of interet to a person who needs to ask this question. Besides, the dba_tables view requires access to a DBA account.
There are several other views: "user_tables" will list all the tables in this user's schema; and "all_tables" will list all the tables this user can access in some way.
The above do not, of course, include any information about synonyms, sequences, views, indexes and so on.
The correct answer and the meaningful answer may be two different things.

How to configure trex name server

while creating index i am getting the error
Index could not be created; creating index failed: TREX Name Server (including back-up servers) is down or not accessable. (Errorcode 7217)
for the above error i need to configure the trex name server using TREX Configuration in the J2EE Engine in j2ee visual administrator .
can any one tell me the clear path that where to configure the above and where j2ee visual administrator installed how to configure the name server

Hi Ganesh,
In order to access the Visual Administrator, go to Start > Programs > SAP J2EE Engine > Visual Administrator. After you login, you will see 2 nodes i.e. Dispatcher and Server. Expand the Server node. Then go to "Services" and expand it. Then go all the way down to "TREX Service". Then on the right hand side, go to the property "nameserver.address" where you will key in "tcpip://<nameserver>:<port>". Then hit "Update" and click on the "Save" button. Then when you go to TRex Monitor, you should be able to see the Name Server running. Hope this helps.

How to change the name and description of a wim using DISM

With Imagex we could update the name and description of the wim with on easy command:
imagex /info img_file [img_number or
img_name] [new_name] [new_desc]
e.g.
imagex /info Win7Combined.WIM 1 "Win7(x86)" "Windows 7 x86"
Since the ImageX tool is deprecated in Windows 8 and has been replaced with DISM, can someone explain how to update the name and description with one easy command using DISM like we could with Imagex?

It talks about exporting an Index into a new WIM. Which, in a way, would be renaming it. It's really recreating it and you have to give it a name. But it seems to work.

How to find the Names of Most costly Views or Most Time consuming views

Hi All,
I had a database consisting of almost 200 views,as a part of Optimization process i want to find out the most costlier views.How to do that.Actually i want the names of the VIEWS,so that i can optimize that.Can any one help me out?
I had one more doubt in our Database a view is created like view A( which is created by joining several tables).so do i need to add index on this view separately or does it take the index of the tables which i joined? And in our Database i had created
a VIEW which is derived from other views(the Joining objects are views not tables),so while i select recoreds from this views which is derived from other views it is taking a lot of time.Is tehre any problem with that?

Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:

Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
Paste into the Terminal window by pressing the key combination command-V. I've tested these instructions only with the Safari web browser. If you use another browser, you may have to press the return key after pasting.
The command may take a noticeable amount of time to run. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign ($) to appear.
The output of the command will be automatically copied to the Clipboard. If the command produced no output, the Clipboard will be empty. Paste into a reply to this message.

Step 2

you need to negotiate Authentication in ur applet code...
          For example:
          If u r using Form based auth u need to send Post a request with j_user_name &
          j_password to the action j_security_check. and when server returns back the
          cookie
          u need to hold it and pass that cookie to the each and every request made to the
          protected application.
          Basically u need to imitate the browser.

Viewing Marker's Name in Canvas

I have previously added about 48 Markers to my sequence. Their positions are all still located on the Timeline scrubber bar.
But when I select a Marker, the Name does not appear in the Canvas as it did previously.
If I control-click on the Scrubber, I get a drop-down list of all the Markers. I just want to be able to see/access the Name on the Canvas.
Can anyone suggest what I can do to remedy this? I can get around the problem but I would like to know how to see them as before.

Hi(Bonjour)!
May be it's related to display option for canvas's display.
Make sure that "canvas overlay" option is checked.
If you park the playhead at the first ot last frame of a clip, there will be a small light blue "L" in the canvas .
All other "informations cues" will appears in the canvas.
I'm not currently in front of my Mac, but look at the top of canvas window- where you select the scale of viewing- to check this option.

Hi.,
Using set_selected_rows() method you can achieve this.,
First Call ALV using o_grid->set_table_for_first_display
Then call o_grid->set_selected_rows " here o_grid is reference to cl_gui_alv_grid
You have to pass parameter index 1 to it_row_no.
Also you can pass the row numbers which you want to select by default .,

With check constraints I can specify constraint violation error messages that will be displayed in Forms at runtime if needed. How can I do this with function based index constraints?

OK, problem sorted.
You need to create a check constraint with the same name as the new index, but don't enable it.

How to suffix user name and password remote pc in shutdown /s command

We can shutdown a remote pc using " shutdown /s /m \\ipaddress " command, only if password of remote pc is stored in windows credential manager.
But how to add user name and password when i execute the command for example : when we map a share folder on our pc we use below command with user name and password
"net use * \\ipaddress\share password /user:username "
can we give user name and password of remote pc while we give shutdown command to turn off a remote pc (without adding user name and password to windows credentials).

Based on my test, I can use the command shutdown /s /m \\10.157.21.77 to shutdown the remote computer when the have the same username and password.
Do you mean that you want to add user name and password when you want to shutdown the remote computer?
I can't find a user name and password in Windows Credential Manager, please share us a screenshot.

There are two ways to do this.
I. Create your own Session Log file
1. Go to http://url:port/b2b/admin/index.jsp
2. Login with Admin user id and password.
3. Click on 'Logging' from the left hand navigation
4. Click on 'Session Logging' tab
Here you can start your e-commerce application using a URL and 'Start' session logging when you need it. When you 'Stop' the session logging, you will see a log file for download.
II. View ISA Log files in the system
The path varies based on how the log config was done. But usually, if you look in this folder structure on the Java Stack, you will see log files.
.../JC00/j2ee/cluster/server0/log/applications/..

How to relink globally ALL pages to new index?

Using DW 8 had an index page which I changed the name to
indexlayers and that updated all pages of course with it...now how
do I link all my pages to a new page I've called just "index"? I
need a global relink but how do I do it?

Change the name of index to index-z. Then change the name of
indexlayers to
index. Then change the name of index to xindex AND REFUSE TO
UPDATE PAGES.
Then change index-z to index.
Bada bing, bada boom.
Or - do a sitewide find and replace to find all instances of
"indexlayers"
to "index".
