Indicator Values from Multiple Points in a Program

I may be requesting the impossible...
I have a program that is a three-frame stacked sequence. In each frame there are case structures, in which there are while loops. In the while loops, it reads off the temperature from a piece of equipment.
I would like to have one output on the front panel, "Temperature", which reads from the "Get Temperature.vi"s in each of the frames. See image below. Am I out of my freaking mind to be trying?

You need to re-think your code, too many beginner mistakes.
First of all, use a state machine as already suggested. No local variables needed.
If you need to get the temperature in the true and false case, place it outside the case structure. only one instance needed.
Once you have a state machine and want to get the temperature irrespective of state, place it outside the state case structure.
Simplify!
See how far you get....

  • How to get one value from multiple duplication for a key figure field

    Hi expert,
          I have a infoprovider, with following format:
            employee     hourly_rate   action_type  count of action
         there are multiple rows for each employee, I want to create query as follows:
            employee     hourly_rate   action_type  count of action
         in which hourly_rate is constant , only retriving one value from multiple rows for one employee, count of action should be summarized.
    how to get this hourly_rate.
    Many Thanks,

    Hi,
    put the employee in rows panel -> reaming object put it in free char panel.
    suppress the all result rows for the all object except employee .
    select the object -> go to query properties -> select display tab -> select result rows -> select suppress.
    select the employee -> go to query properties -> select display tab -> select result rows -> select always display. - now it will give employee wise hourly rate summarize data.
    Thanks,
    Phani.

    Hi,
    For this requirement, you will need to retrieve all the lists objects you want firstly, then execute the requests one by one to get the value of the Title column using CAML or

  • Infosource Fields with values from multiple Data Sources

    Hi Experts,
    My question is:
    i have to load values of only few fields of 0LIS_11_VAHDR and few fields of 0LIS_11_VAITM into one infocube.
    If i just create one infosource with those fields only in communication structure, but then i can assign only one data source at time, how to load values from another datasources at same time?
    Can i do it using single infosurce? and if yes any guideline....
    Thanks......

    My dear, the problem is that even for the first solution (only one infosource) you have to manage two separate dataloads, since linking several datasources to one infosource means only that you can manage a unique communication structure, but different transfer rules/structures and, avove all, two different infopackages !
    So, you have anyway to face the automation issue of your dataloading.
    My suggestion has been more functional and conceptual than technical (for which I gave the same answer, that is, "you can do it"): you are not loading a master data source (the same object 0MATERIAL) with attributes, texts and hierarchies (and in this case it's obvious that you have to use one infosource); here you want to use the infosource dedicated to the header flow to load item info too (and you will have to use the same and unique update rules).
    Again, no problem from a technical point of view, but I guess that someone who will look into your architecture, probably, will have something to say with this kind of choice !!!
    Bye,

  • Extracting all values from multiple menus

    Hello all,
    Basically I have a jsp that consists of three of what FrontPage calls drop down boxes but I will hereafter call list boxes, each containing a number of options extracted from a database; these values can be moved from one box to another using java script. When I hit a submit button I wish to be able to extract all the values from two of these lists and add them into a database. I know how to extract selected values but I need all the values of both lists regardless of what the user selects and I need the contents of each kept distinct.
    Any help provided will be appreciated and I apologize if this question is something all the forum vets have already seen before.
    Philip

    Only the values that are selected will be submitted
    with the form. So, add a call to your form tag's
    onSubmit event to call a function like this:<form name='myForm' onsubmit='selectAll()'>
    <script language='javascript'>
    function selectAll() {
    for(i=0; i<myForm.mySelectList.options.length; i++)
    myForm.mySelectList.options.selected = true;
    // do the same for the other two select lists
    </script>
    Thanks for the tip, but unfortunately this means that the two list boxes that I want will become intermingled. Is there a way to keep the information in the two lists seperate?
    Philip

  • How to assign values from multiple output(cursor) to fields(line item-one below other) in forms??

    Hi all,
    I have a Form which has text_field columns as below , created from table RECEIVED_FORM_15G. This table is blank.
    1)     CUST_CODE with 1 line item. (Number of Items displayed=1)
    2)     ACCT_FD_NO with 10 line items. (Number of Items displayed=10)
    There are more than 1 ACCT_FD_NO for 1 CUST_CODE.
    When i enter the CUST_CODE and press tab, all the values of ACCT_FD_NO must get displayed. I am taking ACCT_FD_NO values from another table called KEC_FDACCT_MSTR
    and want to display ACCT_FD_NO, one below other (line item). So i put in the following code:
      BEGIN
           FIRST_RECORD;
           FOR CUR_R IN (SELECT  ACCT_FD_NO FROM KEC_FDACCT_MSTR WHERE   STAUS='E' AND ACCT_CUST_CODE=:CUST_CODE)
           LOOP
               NEXT_RECORD;
              :ACCT_FD_NO :=CUR_R.ACCT_FD_NO;
           END LOOP;
        END;
    But the problem is i'm not able to display the captured value in next consecutive line items.
    It is getting displayed in first & second line item only.
    The first value gets displayed in first line item, then the cursor moves from first line item to second line item,
    the second value gets displayed in the second line item, (this is because of NEXT_RECORD in my code)
    later all the values are getting displayed in the second line item only. (I checked it using message call.)
    I want it to display one below the other.
    The problem is the cursor is not moving to third line item after the second line item.
    So the remaining values gets displayed in the second line item only.
    So what is wrong in my code??
    Where should i place the next_record to make the cursor move from one line item to next line item i.e from second line item to third line item
    & third line item to fourth line item & so on....  Please let me know.
    Thank You.
    Oracle Forms Builder 6i
    Oracle 9i.

    The above code is right..
    The only mistake was In the property palette of CUST_CODE, "required" was not set to "Yes" .
    So after setting required to 'YES' , it worked perfectly fine.

  • Mapping an object using values from multiple tables

    Is it possible to use values looked up in other tables when mapping an object?
    For example: I have three tables. In table 1, I have fields for 'cityCode' and 'stateCode'. Table 2 is a state table which contains a list of stateCodes and corresponding stateIds. Table 3 is a city table with cityCodes listed by stateId (the city code is unique within the stateId but can be duplicated under other stateIds). Table 3 also contains the cityName for the matching cityCode/stateId pair.
    I am ultimately trying to match a cityName to a cityCode. I can't figure out how to tell toplink use the stateId returned when mapping Table 1 to Table 2 via stateCode when mapping cityCode in Table 1 to Table 3.
    Any help is greatly appreciated
    --matt

    What does your object model look like, do you have a single object with data from all three tables in it?
    <p>
    In general because the cardinality of the tables and usage does not match, I would not recommend using multiple tables to map this. Instead define a CityNameManager class that preloads and stores all of the city names for each state, (possible lazy initializing each set of cities per state). Your getCityName() method in your class would then just use this manager.
    <p>
    You could map the multiple tables but it may be difficult, and would most likely need to be read-only because I don't think you want to insert into the table2 or 3. You basically have a foreign key table1.stateCode => table2.stateCode, (table1.cityCode, table2.stateId) => (table3.cityCode, table3.stateId). You probably cannot define this in the Mapping Workbench, so would need to use the ClassDescriptor code API and an amendment method. If you can't get the foreign keys to work you can always use the descriptor multipleTableJoinExpression and define the join directly.
    <p>
    You could also define a OneToOneMapping to the CityName from your object using the cityCode and using a selectionCriteria() on your mapping to provide an expression that uses the getTable() method to join to the intermediate table.

  • Boolean values from multiple Digital Inputs

    Hi guys,
    This should be really basic but I've looked around to find a solution with no succes...
    I have a Digital Input device with multiple inputs.
    Eg, I'm reading 0-24VDC signals from pushbuttons and limit switches.
    I simply would like to be able to assign each input to a boolean variable to use throughout the code.
    Example: I've setup the DAQ Assist and get the usual "Data" output. I'm guessing this produces an array of boolean signals.
    How do I convert that array into an individual boolean DI signal for each input?
    Or better still, is there a VI I should be using that outputs individual signals?
    I've also got the same problem for Digital Outputs. I'm guessing I'll be able to apply the same principles to that problem though.
    Sorry if this is obvious and thanks for the help,
    Joel
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Index Array will break apart an array into individual elements.
    Build Array does the reverse taking individual values and build them into an array.

  • How to sum values from multiple lines in a DataTable?

    I have a Lookout program which uses a DataTable to allow users to write basic programs (relay on/off times, which relays change state, and pause times).  The DataTable cursor position changes to advance from one program stage to another.
    What I would like to do is sum up the times from all the various stages.  Can anyone suggest how I might iterate through the DataTable using Lookout alone?
    Thanks,
    Dave

    I have tried to make 'loops' similar to that one but Lookout shows a message that iterations or loops for a variable are not allowed.
    You can use a sequencer but there are 2 inconvenients:
    1.- For a fast computer every step of the sequencer cannot be faster than 0.1 - 0.2 seconds. If you have many iteraciones, it will take some time.
    2.- The sequencer object has a maximimum of 100 steps.
    Ryan S. Here are questions for you:
    1.- Is there a way to add in the lks file statements and or functions using existing variables? What can be done and what not?
    2.- Is there a way to insert comments in the lks file?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Find duplication values from multiple columns in a big table

    Hi All,
    I am working on a 11gR2 database in linux. i want to display record that have duplicate values in 2 columns.
    1. Table Structure :-
    CREATE TABLE A
    ID NUMBER(10),
    F_NAME VARCHAR2(100 BYTE),
    L_NAME VARCHAR2(100 BYTE)
    2. Sample Data:-
    Insert into A
    (ID, F_NAME, L_NAME) Values (1,'TONY' ,'SUMIT');
    Insert into A
    (ID, F_NAME, L_NAME) Values (2,'SUMIT' ,'KEITH');
    Insert into A
    (ID, F_NAME, L_NAME) Values (3,'NORA','SMITH');
    Insert into A
    (ID, F_NAME, L_NAME) Values (4,'APRIL','TONY');
    Insert into A
    (ID, F_NAME, L_NAME) Values (5,'ROSS','TAM');
    ID F_NAME L_NAME
    1 TONY SUMIT
    2 SUMIT KEITH
    3 NORA SMITH
    4 APRIL TONY
    5 ROSS TAM
    4. My requirement is i need display IDs that it's F_NAME or L_NAME has duplication in F_NAME or L_NAME columns.
    The result should be
    ID
    1 reason: F_NAME (TONY) equals to L_NAME of record 4, L_NAME (SUMIT) equals to F_NAME of record 2
    2 reason: F_NAME (SUMIT) equals to L_NAME of record 1
    4 reason: L_NAME (TONY) equals to F_NAME of record 1
    record 3, 5 aren't in the result because there is no duplication in F_NAME or L_NAME columns for NORA,SMITH, ROSS, TAM
    The table contains 10 million records, i really need to consider the performance.
    kindly suggest me the solution

    Note: Forum members please suggest better approach to this -- below.. convert into SQL :)
    I know I will be opposed by many people in this forum for posting such in-efficient solution.

  • All values from multiple select LOV

    Hi.
    Ik have a customize screen for a chart where a can select days. That works. But i want the standard value to be 'all days', so the user does not have to click all seven days. When i have combobox i use in the where clause:
    "and (fieldname = :variable or :variable = '%')"
    For a mutiple select i use IN:
    "and fieldname IN :variable"
    That would make:
    "and (fieldname IN :variable or :variable = '%')"
    This does not work for a multiple select LOV.
    Anu ID how i can make it work???

    Try the following:
    (:variable = '%' or
    :variable <> '%' and fieldname in :variable)

  • Can I create a Master PDF that pulls field values from multiple PDFs?

    I am designing a tracking system for a class and want to have the student fill out a basic information form that tracks personal information and individual test grades.  As an administrator, I want to have a master list that can track the entire class and pull in their grades, calculate class average, and order them accordingly.  Ideally, it would pull from a folder of these student PDFs.
    Does Adobe have a way to do this?  I have LiveCycle and Acrobat Pro.

    Thanks for the very prompt answer!  That seems like it sort of does what I want - however, once I leave the course, I want to have the system continue to work - and future Admins probably wont have access to Acrobat Pro, or the technical knowledge to send out looking for responses.  Nor is there a sharepoint (or equivalent drive) to set.  Perhaps some further explanation is required.
    There are multiple classes going on at one time, and each class gets a folder on a standalone machine, with a different Admin in charge of each class.  When one graduates, another one fills in behind them a week or so afterwards.  So what I need is a "template" file for student data, and a template "Master list" that pulls from all of the student data PDFs in that folder, locally, without the Master list having to send out requests for information.  That way, when a new class starts, the students can email in their student data, the Admin can pop them all in a folder with a blank Master List template, and when the admin opens the Master list, it populates with all the data from the student sheets.
    Hopefully that is a little clearer, and hopefully doable!  It really needs to be pretty darn simple.  We used to do it in Excel, and gave each student a tab where we copy/pasted their basic data - and a crosslinked sheet pulled it into the master list.  Alas, that looked unprofessional and sometimes was very troublesome when the students altered the Excel form in any way or put things in the wrong cells.
    Thanks!

  • Calculated value from multiple rows in selection set

    Consider this query
    SELECT WELL.UWI
    FROM geo_formation A, WELL
    WHERE ( (select min(top_depth)
    from geo_formation B
    where B.uwi = A.uwi
    and form_id = 'WDBD' )
    (select min(top_depth)
    from geo_formation C
    where C.uwi = A.uwi
    and form_id = 'VKNS' )
    ) > 10
    AND A.uwi = WELL.UWI
    AND A.FORM_ID IN ('WDBD','VKNS')
    ORDER BY WELL.UWI, A.FORM_ID
    The question asked by the query is
    Show me all the entities (entities are identified by WELL.UWI)
    where the distance between the geological formations (identified by WDBD and VKNS)
    is greater than 10
    The distance in question of course is calculated in the
    (select min(top_depth)
    from geo_formation B
    where B.uwi = A.uwi
    and form_id = 'WDBD' )
    (select min(top_depth)
    from geo_formation C
    where C.uwi = A.uwi
    and form_id = 'VKNS' )
    portion of the where clause.
    ** My question:
    Is there any way to get this calculated value to be part of the selection list
    ie.
    SELECT WELL.UWI, 'the calculated value in question'
    FROM geo_formation A, WELL ...

    Thanks Barbara; once again your solution to one of my problems works like a charm.
    On top of that, I learned something important; I did not know that one can essentially achieve the same results as creating a temporary table by including the appropriate (select ...) in the from clause.
    Thanks again.
