Information on work flow

Dear experts,
I am working on a Work flow which should get triggered upon creation of sales order.
In the work flow I need to display material available quantity and the ordered quantity( Done as an activity in the work flow ). After seeing the available quantity the user will decide whether to go for delivery or not. (Through the user decision step of the work flow).
Can any body please tell me how to make this possible.

Murthy

Create a workflow based on Start Event as Sales Order create (Business Object BUS2032 - Event - CREATED ). So your workflow will trigger whenever a sales order is created. using mappings you can get the QTy into workflow container (hope u know the workflow basics. otherwise check http://****************/Tutorials/Workflow/Workflow.htm). In user decision step you can give the USER an option to CREATE DELIVERY OR NOT (give 2 options CREATE DELIVERY, REJECT DELIVERY ). on create delivery you do the thing like create delivery wth ref to sales order or wht ever functionality you want to.. on REJECT dont give anything so that you can come out of workflow and thus ends the workflow.

Give me information about Work Flow Definition?

    hi payal,
    SAP Business Workflow
    Purpose
SAP Business Workflow® is a cross-application tool which makes it possible to integrate business tasks between applications. This component supplements the existing, comprehensive, business functions of the R/3 System.
With this component, you can adapt the standard functions of the SAP R/3 System to the specific requirements of your enterprise. The component contains the functions and tools with which you can control and edit the cross-application processes.
    Implementation Considerations
Many application components of the R/3 System use and integrate SAP Business Workflow functions. Therefore, be sure to execute the function Maintain standard settings for SAP Business Workflow in SAP Business Workflow Customizing.
    Integration
    Integration of SAP R/3 Functions
SAP Business Workflow is incorporated at an integration level above the transaction level. The component uses the existing transactions and function modules. The functionality and operability of the existing transactions and function modules are neither changed nor restricted by the workflow control. SAP Business Workflow does not intervene in the programmed processes within a transaction.
The component SAP Business Workflow, as a cross-application workflow management system, hence separates the organizational aspects of the control logic from the application logic. The component makes the R/3 System easier to operate, which is particularly useful for inexperienced or occasional users.
    Integration of Organizational Management
The integration of the application component Organizational Management into SAP Business Workflow allows you to link tasks with the agents possible from an organizational point of view. This link allows the workflow management system to find the "right" agents and assign tasks to them.
Tasks and agents are linked on an abstract descriptive level based on jobs and organizational units. It is therefore possible for several employees having equal authorization within the organization to receive the same task for execution. One of these employees takes on this task and processes it. This assignment principle supports automatic load distribution within work groups with the same activity profile.
This means a high degree of transparency of business processes, including responsibilities.
Changes to the organizational structure of the enterprise and employee turnover therefore have direct effects in SAP Business Workflow as well, without changes having to be made there.
    Features
With this component, you can automate and coordinate several business processes:
u2022     Complete work processes executed frequently
The level of complexity of these processes can vary. It ranges from functions which must be called by the user to continue processing, to event-driven business processes in which the R/3 System determines the individual steps by evaluating process-dependent information, and various agents then execute all the processing steps required.
The processing of activities is not necessarily tied to specific persons, but perhaps only to organizational units, project groups, or job descriptions.
    u2022     Subprocesses
Examples of these include release or approval procedures involving two persons.
u2022     Reaction to error or exception situations
    hope it helps u...

If you have a look at the data models in - http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/bi-foundation/epm-data-models-11121-354684.zip
There is the structure of the planning application tables, have a look at the HSP_PM_* tables
Alternatively you can look at extracting the information using LCM.

  • Data/Work Flow in SAP

    Hi All,
Plz. explain the Data/Work Flow in SAP
Is there any difference between this if so explain,
and kindly tell me the process.
    thank you,
    Narender

    Hii..
    Work Flow- SAP Business Workflow
    Purpose
SAP Business Workflow can be used to define business processes that are not yet mapped in the R/3 System. These may be simple release or approval procedures, or more complex business processes such as creating a material master and the associated coordination of the departments involved. SAP Business Workflow is particularly suitable for situations in which work processes have to be run through repeatedly, or situations in which the business process requires the involvement of a large number of agents in a specific sequence.
You can also use SAP Business Workflow to respond to errors and exceptions in other, existing business processes. You can start a workflow when predefined events occur, for example an event can be triggered if particular errors are found during an automatic check.
SAP provides several workflows that map predefined business processes. These workflows do not require much implementation. For an overview of these SAP workflows, refer to Workflow Scenarios in Applications.
    Integration
SAP Business Workflow uses the existing transactions and functions of the R/3 System and does not change the functions. You can combine the existing functions of the R/3 System to form new business processes with SAP Business Workflow. The workflow system takes over control of the business processes. If you are already using SAP Organizational Management, you can use the organizational structure created there to have the relevant agents carry out the individual activities. It is possible to have an activity carried out by a position. This ensures that the respective occupiers of the position can carry out the individual activities during execution of the workflow. This means that personnel changes in your organization are taken into account immediately in the execution of a workflow.
    Features
SAP Business Workflow provides a number of tools for defining and analyzing workflows as well as for monitoring operation.
The Workflow Builder is for displaying and making changes to workflows. You can make small extensions directly to the original workflows supplied by SAP, such as carrying out your own agent assignments or changing deadline monitoring.
There are several Workflow Wizards to support you in the definition of workflows, with which you can create specific parts of a workflow. The Workflow Wizard Explorer gives you an overview of the existing Workflow Wizards.
In order to make the functions of the R/3 Systems available to a workflow, you use business objects, which you can define and analyze in the Business Object Builder. These business objects are made available to the workflow in reusable tasks. The Business Wizard Explorer gives you an overview of all existing tasks.
The end user receives information about the activities they are to carry out in their Business Workplace. This provides them with a central overview of all the activities that they are authorized to carry out. They can commence the activities from here.
Several tools are available to the workflow system administrator, with which they can control and analyze the current workflows. The workflow system administrator is notified of problems automatically by the system.
DATAFLOW-Data flow means flow of data from one module to another within a sap system.

  • Flow charts for work flow in dynpro / webdynpro

    hey
is it possible to add flow charts ( not by pictures ) to a program in dynpro or webdynpro  ?
i need some how to visualize all the station flow  in my work flow ( the regular wf log is not good enough ) .
    any ideas ?
    regards
    ASA.

My experience: very poor in powerpoint, I've just made one program to generate boxes with texts and relationships, but much more experience with OLE2/VBA.
But could you tell us exactly what you'd like to change in the WF log? (i.e. what information it doesn't have)
As I can understand your requirement, I think it's not worth developing such a program, you'll spend too much time, and it seems to not be a customer requirement...

  • Work Flow in FormCentral

I woulld like to create an internal form that has four to five different sections that are completed by different members of our staff.  For example, HR would enter basic user information, IT would input system access user name, etc.  One person would complete the first part of the form, the next person would then receive notification that the first past is done and then complete their section, and so on.  Can I do this with FormCentral?

In that scenario how would the responses be collected?  If I understand it wouldn't happen until the final person completes the form?  Can you create buttons within the PDF form to send to the next person via email and then a final submit that rolls the information up to FormCentral?  Is there another Adobe program/service that will handle these work flows?

  • Regarding work flow for credit block release in sales order

    Dear Experts,
Kindly help me with work flow-
my scenario is if customers credit limit of 5000$ exceeds in sales order it should be blocked and notification should go to authorize person through simple mail to release this block.
for this i have done settings in out control i have used output type krml and determined partner as employee responsible to release block in customer master but mail is not triggered to authorized person for credit block and how i can create work flow for this so that authorized person should get notify for credit block as well he releases block also.
    Regards
    Supriya

    Dear supriyaparimal,
Please find the below points to fix your issue.
    1. Configure the out put determination by using the condition type KRML.(Hope oyu have done it already).
2.Maintain the condition records in VV11 for condition type "KRML"
3.Then select the condition record and click the communication tab .
    4. If you want to give any information you can use "Note for recipient".
    5. If the information has to be sent to relevant person you recipient name in the recipient column.
    Save the documnet.
If you raise the sales order and if it is blocked then system automatically send the information to respective person.
You can get this in formation in ""SBWP" transaction code.
Check the in box, the information what you have mentioned in the condition records will be appeared.
Please let me know if you have any clarifications

  • What is use of work flow in master contracts

    Dear sd experts
i know configuration of Master contracts But thing is i would like to know why We have to Configure work flow in Master contracts with Work flow consultant ?
i have not traced any thing in the google please help me
    thanks  a lot

    Hi,
Here is the explanation from the workflow help page.
"Changing the master contract triggers a workflow that accesses the assigned lower level contracts and automatically copies the changes to the lower level contract. If an error occurs, a work item appears in the inbox of the person who changed the master contract, who has to process it manually. A separate window displays all the changes that have been made for information purposes."

  • ABAP API for MDM work flow

    Hi SDN,
I need some information related to ABAP API for MDM workflow. I did search in SDN and I found one solution in a thered posted on Jul-2008.
ABAP API - MDM Workflow execute
My dought is: Do we have any ABAP API for call MDM work flow. Please provide me the solution ASAP. Apprciate for your immediate response.
    Regards,
    Kumar.

    Hi LAKSHMAN ,
    To answer your question specifically
Using ABAP api you cannot call MDM workflows as of mdm 5.5 there are no functions specific to calling MDM workflows in ABAP.If you want to implement workflows on ABAP side you need to go for SAP ECC workflows which is a different topic than MDM>
To call MDM workflows over the Java stack ie WAS (SAP portal),You have 2 ways
    - UWL
    - Guided Procedures.
    - UWL is a way of calling MDM workflows on EP.Wherein the workflow design will be done in MDM and it will only be called in portal using appropiate connections and configurations.
You can refer the below links to know more on them:
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/771f1a61-0e01-0010-daa9-93a52905da09 (uwl)

    - GP is a way where by you need to design the entire workflow on SAP portal the logic can be pertaining to MDM but the design is completely on portal using webdynpros and api.
You can refer the below links to know more on them:

He informed that previously he is receiving the mails as expected.
Now all of sudden he is not receiving mails.
I have checked work flow mailer, mailer is up and running.
I have gone through the wf_notifications table, here i can see that MAIL_STATUS column having value of "MAIL".
even i have gone through WF_USERS table this particular user is existing and status is "ACTIVE".

  • Oracle Work flow/e-Biz Events

    Hi All,
Need some info regarding Oracle Workflow and E-Business Suite R12 events.
We have defined a business event in a E-Biz R12 and its subscription is of type ‘Launch Work Flow’ to launch a node(activity) of the work-flow. This activity is not the start node(activity) of the wf. Name of the activity is ‘Receive data’
‘Receive data’ is defined as an ‘receive-event’ type of activity. We’ll invoke the workflow from back-end, it will halt at the ‘Receive data’. When e-Biz event is raised, workflow will be resumed.
We’ll be running different instances of work-flow. So, how do I inform e-Biz event to resume a particular instance of work flow?
    My assumption is:
Work-flow (wf) instances are distinguish based on item-key while e-Biz event takes event-key as an input parameter when it is raised. E-Biz event will match the event-key with item-key of workflow and resume the correct instance of wf. Is it correct?
    All pointers are appreciated.
    Thanks,
    MK
Edited by: MK on Apr 12, 2012 11:18 PM

    So to do this:
    1. Create an activity in the WF process so that it is a event-receiving activity and specify the event name that will make it resume
    2. Define the event and subscription in BES Studio. Create a subscription for the event so that it resumes/starts a workflow process
    3. Raise the business event by specifying its EVENT_KEY as the WF process item type
When the BES gets the event it will identify the item type from the event subscription and will look for an activity waiting for an event and will resume that activity if the process item key corresponds to the event EVENT_KEY.

  • Info required on work flows

    Hi all,
Can anyone provide me info on work flows . Any documents is highly appreciated.
    Regards,
    Rajashree

    Hi Rajashree,
Workflow is a tool for automating the business process so that the process itself flows smoothly, without bottlenecks and without dead ends. Critical parts of the process can be streamlined with deadline monitoring and contingency options. Participants are informed of milestones in the process. The process definition itself is powerful enough to allow business re-engineering with re-training and to eliminate the impact of workforce changes on the basic business process.
SAP Business Workflow is the R/3 tool for handling the process automation within R/3 or between R/3 systems and other systems involved in the business process. It is flexible enough to handle ad hoc processes such as the circulation of an electronic document. It is robust enough to handle mission critical process in the production system such as the creation of a material master.
The different R/3 applications supply standard workflows for the commonly occurring processes. Once these workflow templates are activated, they are ready for immediate use. A complete set of workflow tools, including the workflow editor and workflow generation wizard, are provided to enhance these standard workflows or create new workflows. These tools are complemented with transactions for monitoring, tracking and the statistical analysis of the processes.
Because the business process often does not step at the R/3 boundary, various interfaces and third party tools are available for extending the process across systems.
Workflow is the technique for automating business processes. It is particularly beneficial
    • when different people are involved in different parts of the process
    • when a process only occurs sporadically and the users need to be reminded of what they need to do
    • when the duration of the process is critical and deadlines have to be met
    • when the process definition is likely to change on the fly and retraining users is not possible.
By automating the process, you free the users from having to know what to do when. Work items are sent to the participants notifying them of what they have to do, and a single click on the notification calls the correct transaction and navigates to the relevant screen.
When the workflow runs it creates work items which are like e-mails, but
    • they have the advantage that they contain the intelligence needed to execute the relevant task with the correct data when the operational user executes them,
    • they provide their own functionality so that the operational user has access to everything that is useful to improve the flow of the process,
    • they disappear on their own when they have been executed by someone else or made obsolete.
These work items can be received in the R/3 business workplace, MS Outlook (or any other MAPI compatible client), Lotus Notes, or work item notifications can be distributed by e-mail.
    SAP Business Workflow:
    • accelerates the workflow across applications, functional areas, organizational units, and time periods,
    • supplements the integrated management of processes in the SAP System with individually tailored options for automating and actively controlling business and communication processes,
    • combines integrated organizational management with flexible assignment of tasks and responsibilities to locations, positions, jobs, groups, or individuals,
    • actively supports a quick implementation of workflow technologies through predefined workflow templates, Workflow Wizards and flexible adjustment options,
    • integrates every employee in the value chain by providing a versatile integrated inbox ("universal inbox") at their work centers that can be configured individually,
    • provides a Workflow Information System that is the foundation for process change management and continuous business engineering,
    • was designed to be a change-management tool,
    • simplifies continuous business engineering and process change management with user-friendly tools for defining and dynamically changing workflow tasks
    • conforms to the workflow standards of the Workflow Management Coalition (WfMC)
    • interfaces to other mail clients such as Lotus Notes and MS Outlook
